Santos is near my office and way to convenient to not stop and get breakfast tacos frequently. The restaurant is always very clean and the service is very friendly. The huevos rancheros are probably some of the best in town. The tortillas are always spot on. The selection and price of the breakfast tacos is very good, however be careful about adding extra ingredients as it gets expensive quickly. The iced tea is ALWAYS VERY STRONG, so be prepared to use extra sugar or sweetener. read more

Close and convenient to shopping center kind of tucked away in the corner is a nice little cafe with very good food and friendly service. I had the carnita platter but we posted for them to crisp up the meat alone and to try one flower and one corn tortilla. Food overall was pretty good the Carnitas had a lot of flavor beans were solid rice a little on the dry side. Corn tortilla was hand-pressed on the thick side, flour tortilla stick for both tasted good. Plenty of seating so the wait does not bad the food came out quick and employees had smiles. I've been coming here for over 5 years to get breakfast tacos for the office. I realize things have changed and prices have gone up, but the quality has gone down. You used to be able to get the 3 taco special for $3.25 and they were stuffed full of ingredients. The price now is $4.99 for 3 tacos. I bought 27 tacos this morning (8/15/2025) and they are almost all tortilla with very little ingredients. If you're going to raise the price, you can't go down in quality. I guess it's time to find a new place. The downhill quality may also have something to do with the name change that is about to happen. They are changing to El Sabor de Mi Valle. read more

I've been coming here for years and the food and waitstaff are always consistent. Lots of blue-collar workers are fueling up for a hard days work. A line forms at the register to pick up the call-in orders. When I see this many Hispanic people in a Mexican restaurant, it's authentic. With so many Mexican restaurants around, Santos keeps me coming back with what I want from a restaurant, good food and good service, at a good price. Try this place if you want a solid breakfast. A "hole in the wall" type of place in the corner of a small strip center on Isom/Ramsey corner. Quite busy for breakfast, mostly to go breakfast tacos. A quite extensive menu and you can get any item at any time. A Mexican Denny's as I call it. My kind of place and they have all the items I look for on a Mexican menu litmus test--torta, soup, shrimp cocktail. I got a Jalisco burrito which was smothered in nice red sauce w cheese. Lots of tender beef fajita and beans. My only gripe would be weakish coffee and a forgotten refill but to be fair they were busy. read more

Hands down, the best street tacos I've ever had- and as a native San Antonian, that's quite the compliment! The salsa was fabulous, which is important in my opinion. Just the right amount of flavor and spice. The picadillo tacos were phenomenal, the chicken and beef were great as well. They even include a generous wedge of avocado and a side of beans! My family enjoy buying tacos some mornings so we decided to try this place out.Here they have a drive thru so that's very convenient.The best time would be early in the morning if you want to get a decent meal.From my experience after 9:00am thats when they serving the careless tacos.We went a day ago,and had to return tacos.I had scorched ground beef in all of my tacos.I guess it was the bottom of the pot.I didn't want them to remake my food,because I felt all of that batch might be the same.Today we gave it another try.We thought yesterday might have been a off day.They gave me thin tacos without the toppings that come with the taco.I requested a refund,but the cook was nice,and he said he would fix the problem.When I went inside a cashier was very rude,and she said it wasn't nothing wrong,and I had to except the tacos that they already made.I refused,and another worker told her to refund me my money.The cashier was so petty she didn't give me my tax back that I paid.The only reason people go there is for the convenience of a drive thru.The cooks should pay attention to what they send out,and cashier should have better customer service skills. read more

Tacos are yummy, after eating in restaurant and ordering to go on more than one occasion, I'm truly disappointed. My mother in law loves this restaurant. She took me here and the food was good...and they overcharged my mother in law for an item she never received. She didn't complain, she is much more polite than I. I let it go, she paid that day. Today I was over charged again. I ordered 3 tacos from the special pricing breakfast taco menu for to go. I didn't make a stink since there was a line behind me and I needed to get to work, but this is last time I am letting that happen. The cashier charged me $2 more; basically the after 11 AM price for the 3 tacos. Note: They are really stingy with the salsa. Check your to go bag and make sure you get enough. I am unimpressed. I'm in San Antonio for a very long and exciting USAF Basic Military Training graduation for my youngest son. We had just picked up our oldest at the airport and she was hungry from the very early morning flight. Turns out this place popped up on my Yelp search, had really good reviews, so off we went. I have to say my fellow Yelpers did not disappoint. An unassuming place at the corner of an unassuming "L"-shaped mini-strip mall, the inside was surprisingly spacious. We sat ourselves and then it all began. Great service from friendly waitresses, and really good Mexican food, authentic down to the homemade lemonade. My wife had their cheese enchilada - huge portion, my daughter had their two nice sized chalupas (she could only eat one), and I had their 3-mini tacos (which really weren't mini at all.) The one thing to keep in mind is that the place is a breakfast/brunch/lunch place, which makes it even more interesting to me. I've never seen or much less heard of a Mexican restaurant only open until 3pm, but that is the case with this little joint. (Speaking of joints, San Antonians should seriously consider offering this place up to Guy Fieri for a visit...) I had some breakfast tacos from here while I was passing through San Antonio. I had the eggs a la mexicana and the chilaquiles tacos. The eggs a la mexicana was nothing spectacular, but the chilaquiles taco was pretty tasty. It was kind of like a migas taco, but with bigger crisp pieces of tortilla and a subtle amount of tomato sauce. The tortillas were kind of average and didn't strike me as homemade. This is what happens when you eat a lot of breakfast tacos...you become so picky because you have too many places to compare them to. I will say that their tacos are pretty large and cheap (less than $2/each) compared to the average taco shop. read more

Don't blink because you will miss it. It's located literally in a corner. One general theory I've always had is that these "hole in the wall" restaurants have some of the best food. Well, it still holds true. For it being a small establishment it is one of the busiest places I've ever seen. I would say that 75% of its business is "to-go" orders. The 20 minuets that we were here, I don't think the cashier ever stopped moving. Now on to the food..... the flour tortillas were fresh and homemade. The carne guisada tacos were full and flavorful. If the rest of the menu is this good then that explains the foot traffic. But my judgement is ALWAYS in the hot sauce. There's two type of sauces on the table. The "green" one had a small bite to it but was a great compliment to the food. But the "reddish" one was my favorite!!! It had a real good bite to it and it made the tacos all the better. All in all, this is a place I would recommend to others and I don't have a problem retiring again! read more

first time here...we had a christmas party ordered the fagita plate, first of all the meat was not even fagita. they were very thin strips of meat. Fagita is not thin. it was barely warm, extremely chewy, tasteless, there were barely any cooked onions and bell pepper also. didn't bother touching the rice or the salad. the only part that tasted good were the refried beans. So my wife had the chicken fagita plate,,not worth it either. Most of party also did not finish their plates either. Sorry we even chose this place for our party. Total disappointment. read more
