I had 3 alleged locks on my apartment door: a deadbolt, a lock in the doorknob that was useless (could literally open the door when it was locked), and some weird old style inside-only lock that had no throw. So it was very unsafe, especially as my unit it right near the front door of my building & we've had several break-ins in our building recently. Eric came over today. In 30 minutes I had a repaired doorknob lock & a brand-new second deadbolt with nice long throw. So I now have 3 good locks & feel safe both when I'm home and away. I wish I could give Eric 6 stars - he is THAT good. Eric showed up within 15 minutes after I called at about 8 am Sat. He was friendly, calm, and he picked the deadbolt open within minutes, all with reassurances and a smile ... and for only $75.. I was locked out the same way a few years ago (landlord never gave me a key for the deadbolt, tha/ a whole different story.) That locksmith took nearly an hour to arrive on a weekday afternoon, took another 30 minutes to remove and replace the entire deadbolt, and charged me more than of $300. What a difference! I hope you never get locked out of your apartment with a hungry cat on a hungry cat on the other side of the door when you're already running late for brunch with your mom, but if you do, you know who to call! read more

The first time it happened I dealt with someone from a different company who lied about their eta multiple times when I had somewhere to be. Eric's was a completely different service. I had 2 deadbolts to be installed on 2 doors (no prior holes) so I called around for price quotes. I went with Eric's Locksmith because: 1. Fixed & reasonable price quote. All other places I've called gave me some approximate number and usually would charge me service fee (min $29) + parts & labor (labor by the hour). Noooobody, but Eric, would give me a firm quote because they "have to see the doors first" before they can give a precise quote. Hello... I already said it's a typical wood doors in apartments/condos! I'm not comfortable having a random locksmith come in, pay them at least the fixed $29 whether I like their quote or not. What if they quote me $200 for labor only to install these locks? That'd be ridiculous and I'd feel trapped because I'd be out $29 from the get go. I got Eric's number from a friend. So I called him up - Eric himself picked up the phone, asked me very detailed questions about my doors & locks, and gave me a fixed quote (very reasonable price, on par or lower than the minimum quoted by other companies). We set a date and time, and he showed up within 20 minutes of the scheduled time. 2. Quality of work What truly impresses me is his workmanship. I'm VERY picky with my stuff (you can ask my contractors - I had the longest & most detailed repair list). His work was flawless and he also cleaned up afterwards. He was also gentle with my wood floor when he was moving his equipment around. 3. Honest, upfront, and flexible I ended up getting other services from him (adjusted the door closer so it no longer slams when it closes, create master key system for the entire unit) and I'm totally happy with everything. He gave me a quote on the spot for those additional services and the price was right. He actually told me to ask my HOA/original contractor to fix the door closer for free, but since the price he quoted was inexpensive, I'd rather get it done now. I don't have time to argue with the contractor, beg the HOA, and wait for them to show up. So I'm glad he took the additional jobs and didn't make me to schedule another appointment - I saved myself time, away from hassle, and only pay service fee once. While he was working, he educated me on how to readjust the door closer in case I need to in the future. Before he left, he also told me that he guarantees his work. Maybe there will be an update on the warranty work, if I ever need one. I'd definitely recommend Eric to my friends in need. read more

I NEVER write review, but Eric is a miracle worker/super hero. Misplaced my keys (car and apartment)while at work - couldn't drive home. Plan: Cab home, meet locksmith to retrieve my duplicates, cab back to work, retrieve car, then drive home. Eric/Locksmith arrived within 15 mins. Unfortunately the lock was very uncooperative - the lock cylinder wasn't stable! After multiple tries, he had to drill the lock - I was inside within 10 mins. He installed a new cylinder, replaced the plate, then using my key, configured the new cylinder so that I am able the original key in the new cylinder - rather than getting new keys! By the way, did I mention that this took place at 10:30p? Eric is efficient, fast, and extremely kind. I cannot recommend him/his service highly enough. [I had boxes stacked to take to my storage unit - he offered to help me!!] Who says super heroes are only on movie screens? Get that man a cape! read more
