I have to commend Eric's Locksmith for incredible service when I locked my keys and wallet (ugh) in my car last night. The first place I called said it would be well after midnight that they would be able to get to me (it was 7:45PM at the time). I gave Eric's Locksmith a call and was told I'd be helped in 15-20 minutes. The technician (I regrettably don't recall his name) was prompt, polite and professional. He got into my car quickly and charged me the minimum payment and patiently explained how I could get my insurance's roadside assistance to reimburse me. It looks like, from his profile that he is in charge of the Eric's Locksmith Yelp account. This is the second time I'm getting a message from someone regarding this business because I gave it an unfavorable review. I assure everyone reading this. I did call Eric's Locksmith for emergency services. Everything I stated in my previous reviews are TRUE. Looks like I'm not the only one that gets mean messages about giving this place a bad review either! (See below) BEWARE - If you are in an emergency like I was, they may not show up. After the master key to my condo building went missing, we had Eric come out and re-key the entire building. He always answers his phone and shows up when he says he will--if he can't make it, he will let you know. His prices are reasonable and he is very friendly. The building has over 30 locks that needed to be changed and we requested over 100 keys. Eric delivered all of this in less than a day. 15 months later, Eric's Locksmith saves the day again! On my way to an important company meeting, carrying my laptop bag, water bottle, heels, and iPhone, I managed to leave the house without my keys. As the door slams in my face, I realize the telltale lack of jingling a moment too late, and start to panic. Thankfully, I had my iPhone and immediately called Eric's. I was told a secret about my brand of lock once upon a time, by a great locksmith, that any locksmith can look up my key design and cut me a new key with just a serial number. After learning that, I emailed myself my serial number 3 years ago, and now I happily looked it up and gave that number to my Eric's Locksmith savior. My coworker drove me to where he was currently on a job nearby, and he promptly handed me a shiny new key. I gave him a rumpled $5 and dashed home to grab my keys, and made it to my meeting an hour away with time to spare. Not only did he tell me that good customer service was his priority, he chose to not abuse my moment of panic to screw me for a $100 house call and lock picking. What a gem! (Note: I stopped at Westwood Lock & Key on the corner of Westwood and Santa Monica Blvd on my way to meet the Eric's guy, and they LIED and told me cutting a key by serial number wasn't possible, and they'd have to make a housecall and drill my lock and replace it. Easily $150 because they knew I was in a bind. Once I started to walk away, they told me they in fact could, but for $25. I scoffed and went to meet my buddy from Eric's.) I'll never recommend another locksmith as highly as Eric's Locksmith, I swear to the Yelp Gods. read more

First off, I have to say that I am quite disturbed by this company's responses to the negative reviews below. I wonder if the owner understands that it makes them look completely unprofessional and, that this behavior alone should downright scare people away from using their services. I called to have a new key made for my motorcycle, as I had lost mine. I was told that the locksmith would be at my apartment the next day at the time that I requested (I specifically requested the next day). Later on, I called to get an estimate of the price. Without even trying to help me over the phone, the employee immediately told me that he would call me back to let me know. I never received a return call. The next day, I called again to confirm that they would be there at the agreed-upon time. Again, the individual hastily told me that he would call me back, and again, I didn't receive a return call. At that point, my confidence in them had been completely eroded, so I called and cancelled my appointment and found someone else. Would they have shown up? Who knows. Will I call them again? Okay, I admit it, sometimes my husband is right. In all our years together, he has never once locked his keys inside a car, home, anything! Me? Ohh my car maybe three times, my home, maybe twice? It was like anxiously waiting for Superman to arrive and save the day. Except it was better. Upon calling for help, the phone was answered and my worries of being locked out of my property came to a hault. I NEVER write review, but Eric is a miracle worker/super hero. Misplaced my keys (car and apartment)while at work - couldn't drive home. Plan: Cab home, meet locksmith to retrieve my duplicates, cab back to work, retrieve car, then drive home. Eric/Locksmith arrived within 15 mins. Unfortunately the lock was very uncooperative - the lock cylinder wasn't stable! After multiple tries, he had to drill the lock - I was inside within 10 mins. He installed a new cylinder, replaced the plate, then using my key, configured the new cylinder so that I am able the original key in the new cylinder - rather than getting new keys! By the way, did I mention that this took place at 10:30p? Eric is efficient, fast, and extremely kind. I cannot recommend him/his service highly enough. [I had boxes stacked to take to my storage unit - he offered to help me!!] Who says super heroes are only on movie screens? Get that man a cape! read more

We've called Eric a few times to help us with various lock problems. The first time I called him was because I had put in a call to the larger more well-know businesses and they didn't return my call. (One called me back two weeks later and told me they had been on vacation! Seriously...good thing I wasn't locked out of my house and they weren't the only game in town.) I don't know why this address is listed for this locksmith, and I question whether this locksmith really exists. I've tried going to them twice, both times ending up on a residential street, and finding they're "not open" when I call.
