Food (4 stars) + Erik's Reuben is a classic warm pastrami sandwich with sauerkraut. It's excellent but you'll be wanting more. I wish it was a little bigger. + Italian job is a ham, salami, cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickled peppers. Its bread is like a French roll. Lots of pickled flavors and plenty of good nitrates. I can drink 3 glasses of water eating both of these sandwiches! Service (5 stars) + I was expecting to grab my sandwich but they come out and deliver it to your table + I asked for extra pickles and they gave free of charge Ambiance (4 stars) + It's clean, but what's with the gender neutral restrooms? Call me old school or old fashioned sometimes, but I really do enjoy good tasting sandwiches and soups anytime. This location really cares about their customers and train staffs well. I've been visiting since they opened a few locations back then. Erik's DeliCafe has been successfully serving the San Francisco Bay Area for many good years and the chain has expanded. Good menu selections and good foods for everyone. Sandwiches used to be less than $10, but it's still a very good option in today's inflationary economy under $15 each. Inexpensive and affordable good taste. For me, it's always the half sandwich half soup combination that keeps me revising. For $11.99, I got the half chicken pesto sandwich and half tomato basil soup which comes with a piece of green dill pickle, an orange slice, and a glass cup for water as desired. Very happy as always. Simple and very good. Managers are always good at the job. There used to be more Hispanic employees in the past. Nowadays, they are training anyone fit for the job. All of them are helpful and you can easily spark up a casual conversation with them. Clean and organized. The cafe isn't fancy or anything that stands out, but you will be able to find quiet & comfortable seats and tables inside. They are worth tipping here. Feels like a great local family. I'm in town and the local support center for my company order this for our lunch today and we had a chance of picking off the menu a few days ago and she went and picked it up today. I have to be honest with you. Tell you that I got the tuna sandwich which was probably the best tuna sandwich. I've eaten in a very long time. I also got the vegetable soup which I think is called vegan vegetarian or something like that and that was absolutely excellent as well. It's the most average of sandwiches/soups/salads available. Does the job honorably, but that's it. If you're writing home about it but grew up eating sandwiches your entire life, then perhaps you ought to continue to try more tasty foods. Their MO is to put sprouts in their sandwiches. If you have a sweet spot for sprouts, this place may be for you. Service is good, workers are kind, and I really like them. I do like the convenience of ordering through their app and picking it up in a shelf near the quick take-out door. The app is pretty outdated though, but gets the job done. Also, their portion sizes aren't the greatest either. I would consider it on the medium/small size of sandwich offerings in today's world. Maybe in the 70s-80s they would've been above average, but not today. Lastly, their marketing picture on their app for their Big "E" sandwich always cracks me up. They're measuring the sandwich using a measuring tape, but it's width-wise and not length-wise. I'm such a huge fan of Erick's Deli! I remember visiting the Salinas and Gilroy locations when I was younger and having an Erick's close to where I currently live brings me so much joy. My two favorite sandwiches I switch between would be the pilgrims progress or the raging bull and I always get a bowl of their tasty clam chowder. I've eaten at 3 or 4 Erik's around the South bay and you can't go wrong with the food or service. My question is, does Erik's not pay enough for their employees to afford babysitters? There are two kids running around the place who clearly are the kids of one of the women behind the counter (she is interacting with them, scolding them, etc.) In the time I've been here they have stood blocking the drink machine, the front counter, one nearly ran into another woman carrying her drink back to her table while the other was going in and out of the area where food is being prepped. I ordered the turkey with pesto, bbq chips, and New England clam chowder. Everything tasted amazing. I loved how the sandwich has avocado! The pesto sauce that they used just made it extra special. Since my sister and I were in need of lunch I decided on Erik's DeliCafe since it was within the same complex I was currently shopping in. We walked in and placed our order for a chicken gorgonzola salad and a pot belly sandwich. The initial ordering process and making payment was a breeze but there was a delay in receiving our meal. In fact, there were plenty of other patrons awaiting for their meals as well. I'm not sure if the establishment is understaffed or if they just work at a slower pace but I'm thankful that our food was eventually handed off by a friendly gentleman. Food: Hands down, this was one of the freshest salads I've ever had. The greens in the chicken gorgonzola salad were crisp, vibrant, and very tasty. The highlight of this dish were the honey maple walnuts- the sweetness was well balanced with blueberry pomegranate vinaigrette and the added crunch was seriously addicting. The pot belly sandwich was fully loaded when it came to the pastrami and turkey. The sandwich was neat, beautifully made, and tasted amazing. 5/5 stars because our lunch was flawless. The ingredients used were high quality and worth every penny. My only complaint was the dry customer service provided at checkout. I haven't been to Erik's Delicafe in quite a long time, but found myself there yesterday as I was waiting for the free Oreo Cookies & Cream giveaway at Nothing Bundt Cakes. It's located around the corner, so it was super convenient. I ordered a Half Sandwich Combo. It included a cup of their Tomato Basil soup and a half sandwich of the Barnbuster. The soup was really good and it was nice and hot. Definitely nice to enjoy on a cold day. The Barnbuster is a French Dip and it's serviced with a dollop of horseradish. The roast beef was tender and the bread was nice and soft. The horseradish had a definite "nose clearing" kick to it. It cleared my sinuses! Unfortunately, the half sandwich looked more like a quarter. It was really small in size, which was disappointing. However, the meal was good, but not filling. If you compare this to Boudin SF's soup and sandwich combo, there is no comparison. Boudin SF gives you a bowl of soup and a real half a sandwich. Erik's was also more expensive, so I got less food for the cost. Oh well, live and learn. read more

No matter where I am I am always looking for an Erik's Deli for a good sandwich! I live in Concord and frequent San Ramon a lot. Been to Hayward and now Milpitas. And WOW is all I can say! Hands down the best deli place I've ever gone to. Due to COVID, I prefer to only do DoorDash orders instead of dine in or pick up. I have been eyeing this place ever since I saw it on Yelp. I've been ordering the pilgrim sandwich with a salad and honestly, it's so tasty! Everything is always freshly made, though the sandwich is simple, I love how healthy it is. I usually only eat half the sandwich and save the rest for later because the portion is huge to eat in one sitting! I've had the pastrami and roast beef hot sandwiches and a cup of chowder and some other soup so far. Both times it was very good. Better than Safeway and same price... I think. This has become my go to American sandwich shop in this area. They give u a good amount of meat. Didn't take photos. Perhaps next time. This is best Erik's DeliCafe I've been to in terms of service and food. Friendly staff and they get started on your order right away. I usually get the REO Speedwagon half and clam chowder. So much goo sauce makes the sandwich so yummy! Other locations tend to skimp on that goo sauce. So mani chunks of clams in their soup. The vibe is relaxed, not loud. Parking in front could be a bit scarce during lunch time but always plenty of parking nearby so it's a short walk. Overall love this location! read more

I probably haven't been to this location in oven 5 years but everything felt the same when I last visited a couple weeks ago to meet up with some friends. Erik's is known for their sandwiches (Pilgrim's Progress is one of their most popular ones) that come with lots of sprouts and their carrot cake. I wasn't very hungry and opted for the half soup half house salad combination for $7.95 ($9.50 for the half soup and half sandwich option). I chose the tomato bisque soup. When I went to pay for my order, I noticed I didn't get any bread too go with my soup. When I asked, they said it's an additional $0.50. I want to say bread used to be included? I ended up getting the bread to go with my soup but it regretted it immediately. It was dry and tasted stale. The soup and salad both tasted fine but nothing too memorable. Next time, I'm going to just stick with getting their sandwiches. My coworkers both enjoyed their sandwiches and their bread was probably fresher than the small piece I got for my soup. read more
