I came here to start off the night, had a few drinks myself, paid for a few other friends, tab was about 50 bucks, i gave our bartender 20 cash because i used to bartend and i know that cash tips are better, imagine my surprise when the charge on my card was 72$ !! the bartender, tall lanky dark hair, who i heard mention to other patrons that his mom? or step mom? was the manager added himself a 15$+ tip to my bill !! there is nothing on the receipts about auto gratuity nor any signs, i am extremely disappointed as this bar is right down the street from me guess i'll keep going to dirty dogs! read more

The karaoke DJ is the biggest reason I'm considering going somewhere else. He regularly lets people skip ahead in the rotation as soon as they walk up, which isn't fair to those who have been waiting their turn. On top of that, he's often rude and dismissive toward the regular customers who support this place week after week. I live right next to this bar and would love to keep coming here, but the karaoke experience has become frustrating because of how it's run. I've never experienced such rude customer service until today, I was only in this establishment for a total of 3 minutes. Getting rude looks from the bartender from the moment I walked in, who was a blonde woman. As soon as I sat down she proceeded to come up to me and say "if you're not ordering anything you have to leave." What kind of customer service is that????!! I have been a regular here for years as I love the karaoke, darts, and pool. My friend group and I have spent thousands of dollars at this place over the years and have had great times here because of the amenities but also have had really awful experiences but tonight was the last straw and we are never coming back. The staff is pretty nice in general, but Mason the bartender and his mom Asia who is the owner are always rude and expect every single person in your group to order a drink even if some people in your group order multiple drinks. My friends and I always order plenty of drinks and tip generously, but tonight before I even walked in Mason was mad at my group of friends because only 4 of the 6 had ordered drinks. He told them that they all had to order drinks or it would be considered loitering and he would kick them out. Mind you, we have spent thousands of dollars at this bar and he knows this, and they had also been paying for their expensive darts machine. When I came in my friends told me what had happened and it upset me and even though I had planned to order a drink I decided not to because Mason demanding us to order drinks really rubbed me the wrong way. Mason definitely took exception to this and kept on spying on my friends all night until we had to ask him why he was staring at us and then he said everyone has to order a drink or you'll be kicked out. There was 10 of us at this point and only me and one other person had not ordered a drink and most of the others had ordered multiple drinks and we had probably spent another 20$ on their dart board in the couple hours we were there. We have spent thousands of dollars here and did not like being treated that way so we decided to leave and told him that this is not how you run a good business or treat regulars on our way out and he got in my friends who are women in their 20s faces and yelled at them as we walked out. First off, not a restaurant. They have no food. Secondly, rude staff. My daughter had to take an emergency call from a sick grandmother and she ducked out the open arch into the bar and the bartender took her freshly poured drink and said she was done. I had an extremely frustrating experience here. The staff took my real, valid driver's license and refused to return it. I was told the only way I could get my own government-issued ID back was to call the police -- so I had to involve law enforcement just to retrieve my property. That alone is unacceptable. When my ID was finally returned, it had been bent. There was no reason for it to be damaged. Checking IDs is understandable -- damaging them and refusing to give them back is not. On top of that, the owner's behavior was incredibly unprofessional and confrontational. He appeared intoxicated while handling the situation, which only made things worse. This place has been around for a long time. They have two sections so to speak... entry has a bar and is maybe outside(ish) and then they have another bar inside. Karaoke everynight from what I gathered (Aug 2024) and though he doesn't have all the songs or access to them all, dude has been running it for well over a decade. There are a few games I believe, but I was there for the Shirley Temples, karaoke and company of a friend. The bartender was pleasant and didn't seem peturbed that I was on the Shirley sauce and was attentive regardless. Got kicked out after having one class of wine and their reason was that I had too much. Quite frankly I really do believe the staff were racist especially the bartender name Mason. He was extremely rude to me from the start as he placed his hand in my face when I said excuse me to try and order. I went in with my friends a few weeks ago and was denied service because I was supposedly tapping my card on the bar top. I quite literally was not, but I do have ADHD so I always fidget with my card. But I was very clearly not tapping it to get their attention. A bartender came up to me and cussed me out because I was "tapping my card impatiently". My friends and random people around me were all in shock because it was so out of pocket. Then an hour later, I go back to the bar to see if they'd finally let me get a drink. Before I even fully approached the bar, a different bartender looked me up and down, pointed a finger at me, and said "no drinks for you." A guy next to me asked "what was that all about?", as he noticed how rude it was. I explained to him why they were so angry, so he offered to try buying me a drink. He ordered two drinks (it was a two drink minimum anyway) and the lady asked if one of them was for me. Obviously he said yes, then she denied BOTH OF US DRINKS. It was quite literally insane. A little later I was just goofing around and lightly high fived a Halloween decoration. I swear to god the initial bartender spawned and told me, "we don't do that here". It's safe to say they just wanted to hate on me for the night. It was honestly comical to my friends and I but after reading other reviews, it doesn't seem as though this is an abnormal situation at this establishment. Id call myself a regular at Ernies by now, I've been coming every weekend for nearly a year. My friends and I came in for new years eve, which is already a little questionable. Ive worked in bars and restaurants, the service is terrible, the bar sucks, and its full of crackheads and college kids. Ive been lucky enough to never have a problem here. yet I see at least 3 to 5 people get kicked out each time I'm there. Unfortunately this time was different. we were inside and our friends waited for a drink for about 10 minutes so we decided to go out to the outside bar which was a big mistake. I don't know if they were understaffed, or what, but they had a security guard working the bar he had long girlish hair, I could tell he was obviously on drugs. They must not have liked the look of me because they were serving everybody directly around us, but not my group. So, There is a section of the bar that you arent supposed to stand around so the employees can walk freely which I completely understand. Then we start to notice several people coming up to that spot and getting served right away, there is a literal sign on the bar that says do not stand here. So after about 20-30 minutes of being ignored, my brother and I stood there, again waited about 20 minutes my brother did something I would never do at a bar and tapped on the long haired "security" guards shoulder and asked him extremely politely if we could get a bartender over here. he rudely said "there's a line we will get to you I promise" extremely condescending and slurred. I then exclaim to my girlfriend "if we had stayed inside we would've gotten a drink ages ago" he then said then go to the other bar. And i tell him we have been waiting for over 30 effing minutesI then said I will. He says, I will take you over there. I say, I know my way. then I get kicked out and as I had my back turned and I'm walking away he calls me a loser, then i turn around and get pushed out by a little fat dude. Yet, I am a 24-year-old millionaire, and he's working at Ernie's on New Year's Eve... I will never be back to this place, It's not worth it. I do not care if that's the closest bar, I would rather go home. But, the door guy is super cool I always talk to him when he's there, make him manager.
