I had an amazing first time experience at Escape Room 66 and I cannot wait to come back again soon. I forgot our escape room host's name, but her initials started with a K and she was an absolute sweetheart. She didn't rush us out at all (as some escape room places do), she was extremely patient and kind, and she went over all of the clues that we didn't get to solve when our timer ended. My boyfriend and I spontaneously booked "The Doghouse" and I believe I spoke with her on the phone as well before booking and she was just as sweet as she was in person. I absolutely loved the creativity and complexity of the puzzles and the room/props were of high quality (and not old or overused like some places, lol). Her customer service was definitely top notch - my boyfriend definitely made sure to tip her, lol. Will definitely be back again to solve another room soon!!! Prison Break was such a fun room. My group is experienced at escape rooms and found these puzzles to be really unique. We loved how there were so many customized 3D printed props! This room does start you off blind folded and in separate rooms, but you quickly reunite to solve the rest together. Nothing was overwhelming or too difficult in this 8/10 room. They leave you a lot of great clues to keep you on the right path. My group of 4 finished with 13:25 remaining in our hour. I feel we could have done a little better but we never felt rushed. There are a LOT of combo locks! Looking forward to coming back and trying the other rooms! read more

Our game master explained a lot of the creative process to us at the end and took time to walk us through the room to show us things we missed (we did end up escaping with 5 seconds to spare!) It was our first time trying this escape room company and I can see how they're the Number 1 escape room in socal ! Just amazing. My group did the wicked wonderland one and boy was that a bit tough but it's an Alice and wonderland themed room so you will expect the random puzzles being all topsy tervy. But we actually enjoyed it and the puzzles were hard but Katelyn our Game master was amazing and very patient with us. Giving us hints and she also added extra minutes so that our group can finish all the puzzles . I will definitely come back to try their other games that they have to offer there. Never a dull moment with this company's escape rooms! The rooms themselves are very clever and well thought out with a nice progression between each puzzle. The game masters are attentive and they provide much needed hints if they see anyone struggling. The rooms themselves are well decorated and immersive. In terms of tech, the rooms rely more in number locks and simple mechanisms. However, the puzzles are very clever so they don't need any special tech based puzzles. I am so glad my wife's cousins discovered this place. It was shortly after the holidays and we decided to go to an escape room but didn't want to go far. My wife's cousin had done one of the other rooms here and so we decided to check out the other room available (it was an Alice in Wonderland themed room). We had an absolute blast! There were 7 of us and the room really let us spread out & solve different things while still challenging us & not making it feel too easy. In the end, we actually ended up setting the room's record but even though we got through it 'quickly,' we didn't feel cheated. We loved every second and thought our money was well spent. We even got to spend some time talking to the husband & wife who run the rooms. That was such a great treat. We discussed how they came up with some of the puzzles as well as how they're fabricated. It was such a unique look behind the curtains so to speak. They were such a delight to talk to & you could tell they were really passionate about their job and it wasn't just something to make money for them. They were in the process of building a 3rd room and we cannot wait to go check that one out the next time there's a holiday and we're all together. I live in Los Angeles and they said their daughter runs a location up there so I have absolutely looked in to trying out those rooms with some of my local friends. It didn't have as many rooms as some of the other escape rooms I've done. A lot more locks and puzzles, but not as much interactive pieces. Boxing Day is typically a rest-and-recover kind of day after the excitement of Christmas Eve and Christmas, but as Empty Nesters, with not so many boxes to take care of post-holiday anymore, we decided to re-live our days of pet ownership with a visit to Escape Room 66's Doghouse. We. Are. So. Glad. We did! We loved Escape Room 66's Prison Break and The Mush Room (both previously reviewed), and had been looking for another dog-themed escape room in Southern California since Level Games' It's a Doggy Dog World many years ago (also previously reviewed). We're so glad that Escape Room 66 has decided to take up the slack. As with Escape Room 66's establishment in Irvine, this location in Laguna Hills is situated within a business park. Parking was plentiful and free, right in front of the super-welcoming lobby that offered free water and fun warm-up puzzles. It was a bit of busy work to hand-sign the printed waivers, but the pens provided were cute and in working order - important, this! There was at least one more big group ahead of us, and it seemed like all three rooms at that location were in play while we were there, but Jade, our game host, did an unbelievable job keeping us organized and on the nose. Escape Room 66's rooms, as far as we understand, were / are (?) all handmade and designed because they are a family business. This was true of the other two rooms we played, and The Doghouse was no different. The perfectly themed room is what we call G3 (third-generation, with first-generation being the most basic of rooms) with G3 through G1 locks throughout. There are a LOT of puzzles, but we had a fantastic game host, who helped us solve the room with our time on-record (haha) of 2:16 left. The Doghouse is boardgame-inspired and takes its cue from dog-park and doggy-daycare design. It's the perfect room for families and pet-lovers between 2 - 6, perfect for 4. There is a bit of crawling, but the room was super-bright and friendly, and our game started cheerfully with a lovely original story video. Our favourite puzzles featured dog biscuits and a directional puzzle, and, the boardgames aspect, especially the featured boardgame, which just so happens to be most appropriate for mystery season! If there is any whine from us at all, it is that the spelling of the some of the clues can use some work, especially considering the sheer number of puzzles and the non-linear nature of the room. It is really hard to think of any less-than-favourite puzzles, but the ball-in-hoops and cuddle-chew toys were just a little less engaging. We could have easily spent another 30 minutes in the room just fooling around, without any pitfalls (hahaha), honestly, it was such a charming room! Kudos once more to Escape Room 66, and five well-deserved stars both for the game itself, and for our incredible game host, Jade. Thank you for being part of our holiday. We really enjoyed the special gifts, too: stickers, Kit Kats, and in the lobby, other snacks, water, kids' juices. The post-game rewards put Escape Room 66 a good few notches above other rooms, and are the best introduction to the hospitality that is such a big part of the escape room world. I absolutely loved the service at this escape room. I have done many and this is at the top of my list. There was plenty of parking and the facility is maintained well. There were puzzles and games in the waiting area to keep you busy while you wait for the group ahead of you to finish. In addition, they have complimentary cold drinks waiting for you when you complete the room. The game master was very friendly and accommodating to our group. We had two kids in our group and she made sure to keep the kids engaged with the hints. I would say in general that the escape room was very kid friendly. We were able to escape in the time limit and even got the bonus part. The puzzles were interactive and unique. There were a lot of padlocks so it was a challenge to try different numbers on all of them. All in all a very good experience and I would go back when they have a new experience. read more

Had our Dept team building event of 10 people here. The prison room was GREAT!!! Most of us were newbies to escape rooms, but this was fun and challenging. Best puzzles. Great story and props. [Unlimited hints, if you need them...Hee hee] After ww escaped....we had the "party room", which was prefect, clean, comfortable and gave us all time to chat. 66 provided desserts and drinks. My family has done all the rooms here with our eight-year-old and couple of her friends and they were all great, especially for the mix of adults who are not escape room, experts, and the kids who want a fun experience solving puzzles. Last night I spent a delightful evening with my friends at Escape Room 66. I had never been to an escape room before, so I had no idea what to expect. We did "Prison Break", and the difficulty level was perfect (although we did need several hints)! Our host, Leo, was very welcoming and explained everything so we would know what to do. I'm happy to report that we escaped (with 1:48 to spare)! When the experience was over, Leo took us around the room to further explain and clarify some of the clues. Leo also told us about the other rooms so now we are intrigued and want to come back for more! Leo was the perfect host, and I would highly recommend this experience. read more

Wow, such a fun experience! My friends and I all enjoyed playing yesterday and we were so glad to have found this place! For a group of 5, it was $35 each, which is pretty reasonable for an escape room. Escape Room 66 is located across from Diamond Jamboree, which is a good location as it's not that hard to find but with some limited parking we were able to easily find a spot though. When I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised by the interior overall, I didn't know what to expect since it's my first time going to an escape room. The lobby was very well decorated (I wish I had a picture of it) and it felt welcoming. We were then greeted by our game host and owner Taylor, and she was super sweet and she went through what we had to do and other related things (such as telling us how different locks work). It was also nice talking to her for awhile even after we finished the game. We first filled out the waivers and since my friends and I were all over 18 we didn't need to have a guardian signature. We were also told before and after the game we could take refreshments (like caprisuns) which were very nice. I also liked that we were able to put our bags in the cubbies and it was reassuring knowing it was in the actual escape room with us. We did the Prison Break: Trapped in Time room. At first I was scared because I have heard Prison Break was quite hard especially for first-timers, but it was quite beginner-friendly, maybe it also felt that way because some of my friends had done escape rooms before. In the beginning before entering, we were instructed to put on blindfolds, which was quite the surprise haha, wasn't the expecting that, but it fit the vibes. We were one by one led into the room, and Taylor helped us feel comfortable. When I saw the interior of the room, it really did feel like a prison, and the decor was cool. With the puzzles, it was very well thought out and made us really work together. There were a lot of locks so there were a lot of numbers to figure out but thankfully this was a nonlinear room and we could come back to any we were stuck on. I also really appreciated the unlimited hints, we did have to use quite a lot of hints, but they definitely helped us go in the right direction and that's probably why we escaped with about 11min left which I think is pretty good! Thank you again Taylor for typing up those hints for us and for being attentive! The bonus at the end was really nice, got some candy :) Overall, I would definitely recommend coming here, it really deserves the 5-stars. I hope to come back again and experience the two new rooms that is in the works (exciting)! read more

My family and I enjoyed our experience at Escape Room 66. It doesn't look like much from the outside, we almost couldn't find the place, because from the street it looked like an office, but the room was designed thoughtfully and we had fun! My son is autistic and it took him some time to warm up to the game... he started freaking out in the beginning because we were in a closed space with minimal lighting, but the game master Taylor was super considerate and typing up hints on the tv screen to get him engaged and fully participating. He was fully participating with us halfway through the game. I love that this place was so accommodating for my neurodivergent child. You'd be surprised how many public places we have felt unwelcome at or been kicked out of. I'm often scared to take him places because people can be so cruel. But from the very beginning, we let Taylor know he felt a bit nervous about his first escape room experience, and she was super kind and patient with him. When he was freaking out about putting on blindfolds, she simply let him skip that step. I also loved that the bathroom and waiting areas are very clean. The drink fridge was an unexpected bonus! read more

This escape room is a bit difficult for us to locate. There is limited parking space. The room is designed for the young and old but anyone below 18 needs to have an adult accompanying. It is suitable for family looking for some adventure. Inside space is somewhat cramped. The escape rooms are a bit small, not really nice if you have more than 4 people in the mocked jail cell. Some clues are obvious. Others are well designed. You have to think outside the box to get to the correct answer. So it is a bit challenging. We managed to get out within the allot hour with only a few minutes to spare. Overall it's a good experience! read more

I decided to try it since they had an awesome summer deal, which was $30 per person. Usually escape rooms are about $40, so I was glad that I was able to find such a great deal! We booked it same day, online and the entire process was very seamless. We arrived and signed a few short waivers. They currently only have 1 room which is prison break, but I really enjoyed it. I went with a group of 3 other people, and we were able to escape! I really enjoyed speaking to the owner and excited to hear when they will be opening up their second room.
