The Cafe Nico was sublime, a smooth flavor with a hint of orange. Purchased some whole beans for my morning espresso. Espresso Vivace is deserving of every accolade.

When it's made to perfection, the day melts away.

Best coffee in Washington. I have been coming to Vivace since e they had their coffee roaster by Cal Anderson. After a long day, Vivace hits the spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Chill music sets a nice vibe and the service is friendly and welcoming into their establishment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Posters on the wall showcase local flavor and they have a rack with publications so you can peruse through and may find somewhere else to venture to while up on cap hill.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Take home a bag of their coffee beans, but good luck getting it to taste the same as these artisans behind the counter make day in and day out.

Espresso Vivace is a Seattle classic! I've never had bad coffee here. Their signature Cafe Nico is a must-try and my go-to espresso beverage of choice here.

Well... here's your reminder that Yelp ratings aren't everything. Because this place deserves five stars more than almost any coffee shop in Seattle. My theory is it doesn't have a higher rating because it isn't the trendy, Instagrammable café. Instead, it's full of people who actually give a damn about espresso. The espresso is unbelievably smooth with rich caramel notes, and somehow it's that good every single time. If that's what you're after, skip the trendy cafes and come here. Oh, and order the Nico.

I tried this based off of a recommendation from a peer. This is a no frills, quality coffee shop. You order with a barista, they make it on the spot, you pay, then go on about your day. I got an iced latte with simple syrup and it was fantastic. Their espresso was so so good. I bought a bag of beans on my way out to enjoy at home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is quite spacious and seems like a great spot to either do work or catch up with some people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Thanks a latte Espresso Vivace Roasteria... now I can't stop thinking about you Street parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dimmed spot with lots of seating available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried the White Velvet and infamous Nico. Both were amazing and smooth. I wish they owned an oven or microwave to heat up the pastries. Squash bread was yummy and not too sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You clean up after yourself once you're done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

So I have heard about this shop and decided to try it out. Lucked out with a street spots (use pay to park app for 50 cents for 30 minutes). Probably drove the Barnstable crazy with my questions. Ordered lavender cold brew and added milk. Delicious loved the super smooth coffee. Also bought a pound of beans. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Super cool vibes inside. Light music that still let you have a conversation which I appreciate.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Oh my goodness. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior was spacious airy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A no frills spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was drop dead amazing. I have never had my tastebuds tickled in such fashion. Amazing and the barista was stellar. She knew what she was doing making latte art with tiny details. Such a professional. I will only be back here for my coffees and showing for out of towners. There's something deeply special about their coffee roasts. Euphoria in a cup.

This coffee shop was recommended as the coffee shop I had to visit. The Nico was the recommended drink so early Sunday morning I made my way up. I walked in and while I waited I checked out the pastries. I was greeted and I ordered one of the pastries and my drink hot. Service was good and as efficient as they could be as they were busy. My drink came out and it was delicious. A perfect sip as I walked back in the snow. A spacious area for people to enjoy their coffee and get some work done.

I think it's safe to say I'm a regular at Vivace! I usually visit the Capitol Hill location since it's close to my work, but honestly, both locations are fantastic. My go-to drink is the White Velvet- a rich, velvety white chocolate mocha. I prefer it hot, as the iced version can be a little too sweet for my taste. The staff at Vivace are always warm and welcoming, and their barista skills are top-tier! The latte art is consistently beautiful. Between the quality of the coffee and the cozy, inviting atmosphere. Both locations have a quiet room, as it can get pretty busy and loud. Vivace easily ranks in my Top 3 favorite coffee spots. Bonus: I always leave smelling like fresh coffee! I know when a client of mine has had Vivace because the smell from the cafe sticks on you. I love the coffee aroma.

    Vanilla Latte

I ordered a hot vanilla latte 16 oz and was told the biggest they have hot was a 12 oz. Imagine paying $8 for a 12 oz and it was meh. Then you get shitty customer service which your barista who's also the cashier never smiled once. She made small talk with another barista's customer instead. To top it off, she hands you your latte and you say thank you but her response is "yess." What kind of response is that.

The coffee was delicious especially with the house-made nondairy milk, but what really stood out was the frosted cinnamon roll, which was almost like candy. I am not sure if this happens during the busiest moments in the shop, but they did have staff bussing the tables, and one staff member actually brought us our order (I'd been listening for my name to be called and didn't hear it). They clearly care about their image as they offer a free mug for first-time customers with an email sign-up. The drinks here are ok, but they average between $8-$10 each. I think the pricing is just much too high. You're paying for the vibes, not for a great cup of coffee. The matcha we tried was mediocre. There are so many other great places for coffee in Seattle, for just a fraction of the price. I think Storyville is preying on tourists visiting the market. They probably have to charge that much to keep the 8 employees milling about behind the counter employed. The space does have lots of seating, but it was nearly full during our early afternoon visit. Save your money, find another great local coffee spot!

This was on a Sunday afternoon close to 5pm, and there were still so many people occupying nearly every seat inside. I did come back to try their matcha matcha drink only to find it gone from their current menu as of May 2026. Instead, their turon matcha immediately caught my eye, as it has banana and I've been obsessed with banana-flavored toppings and puree on my matcha lately. It has matcha and house banana puree, both of which work well together. The tiny layer of house banana puree has all the flavor, especially when you mix the whole drink together. Very refreshing, and their ceremonial matcha's grassy tones still came out despite the banana puree being just as strong in the drink. Their matcha here comes pretty close to making it to the highest spots on my list of my most favorite matcha places in Seattle. Even if it isn't on the top of that list, their drinks are still 5+ star quality.

We ordered the matcha banana pudding and hojicha ginger tofu pudding lattes. Service took ~10 mins. The matcha banana pudding was yummy. The matcha was of good quality and the banana pudding top was a smooth, cream top that tasted just like banana pudding, with a fun crunch in the topping. The hojicha ginger tofu was a bit more adventurous in flavor. The ginger and tofu messed with my brain and made it feel like I was drinking a savory asian sauce/soup, but the drink was still sweet. I kept sipping, but the strange savory/sweet limbo never really balanced correctly to truly enjoy the drink. On the plus side, the silken tofu was fun to sip through the straw and added some protein. There is seating indoors, but the tables can fill up quickly. Some people were wfh, but most were chatting. There is 1 hr complimentary WiFi. Typical Seattle street parking. Overall, the latte flavors were fun to try and it was an aesthetic cafe. But, the prices for the lattes make them more of a novel, hyped up purchase.

I usually don't get sick from drinking coffee but twice in a row is pretty bad. Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups.
