Wow! Don't go to this place unless you have a few hours to waste. My very first visit shortly after they opened was Awesome. The food was great and everything, including appetizers, was delivered to the table within 15 mins. That was with 6 people. The last 2 visits it took between 45-50mins to get food that was prepared incorrectly. The most recent visit was 4 people. Since I work in the area, thought this might be a good lunch option but after 2 visits of receiving food when it's time to head back to the office, that just doesn't work. Unfortunately I won't be back. I don't recommend Eureka for lunch. read more

Visited this location twice compared to the Santa Barbara Eureka ; very disappointing. Each time we would order a burger we would like the option to have Truffle fries instead they will only give us sauce on the side, for $2- figure it out and check Santa Barbara's menu. The fries are very small and limp! The salmon was delicious but too many onions and the original burger was ok, but burnt on the outside of the meat. Each time we visited, the bartender staff is more consumed with cleaning dishes and making drinks then serving the bar guests ; hire a bar back. read more

We waited 45 minutes for our food. No one checked on us the whole time. We finally waved our waiter over to ask for water. He just yelled over to us our food would be out soon.... ahhh ok? I got the avocado toast and bowl of berries. My berries were covered in mold. Seriously, covered. No one noticed before they brought it to our table? I immediately pointed it out to the server. They didn't say anything.... just took the bowl and left. Ahhh ok? They came out to bring the rest of our food.... no one said anything to us about the berries. Then about 10 minutes later a server brought over the SAME bowl of berries with the moldy ones picked out. Then we waited another 20 minutes to pay the check and had to ask for it twice. I wish we had a better experience. It's a great location and nice building. But we will never go back. The experience we had was awful. Oh... and no one in our party thought their food was very good. We went to Eureka yesterday for the first time because I had a craving for ribs. This place has the best ribs EVAR!!! We also also ordered fried chicken sliders which were amazing too! Finally we indulged in their bourbon barrel cake with icecream! The cake was warm and full of flavor. We'll definitely be back! read more

I cannot eat in any schematic restaurants, but, somehow this broke the mold. The menu was really complete with a great kids menu as well as a great adult listing. The food was great. If you're looking for a upscale, American-style, modern dinner spot -- this is the place for you! The lighting is chic and there is a very open atmosphere with the outside dining area connected to the inside. Try their Lobster Tacos -- they are amazingggg! Also, if you love whiskey, you MUST try the Holy Smokes!!!! It is a mason jar filled with a smooth whiskey and apple wood smoke is infused into the jar. I had the steak salad, and I always get it medium. Oh MY GOD they nailed the steak the way I liked it cooked. The reason is I always order it medium in case they usually always mess up on it and it'll be at least medium well by the time I got it. This place actually got the right kind of tenderness for my meat of medium. I also enjoyed their bone marrow burger. It was so juicy and moist for my taste buds. We spend lots of time in Eureka with family and friends. Specially enjoy the patio seating. Their service and quality is usually up to expectations. Last night we had a bad experience with our waitress. She have delivered us 2 wrong draft beers and when we told her she said no you have ordered this one! We just laughed and accepted the ones she delivered. Then on the second round we explained her which ones we want from their menu. And she showed up with wrong beers again. And again she was right we were wrong. We refused the beers and left. I think this place needs to pay little more attention to manners of their staff. read more

Starting from the outside scenery, this restaurant is surrounded by other restaurants, bakeries, businesses, etc. Great location and area for family time. I dined on a Sunday afternoon and which there was no wait to be seated. The only thing that I didn't quite like was that the seating is very close to other dinners (you could literally hear the conversation from the person sitting next to you). The food was acceptable. The truffled fries, Mac and cheese bites, and the tomato bisque soup are must haves. I would recommend this restaurant to someone who wants casual food in a great location. read more

Came here late Friday night with my boyfriend. I ordered the short rib burger and my boyfriend got the French dip. I took a bite into my burger and bit into something hard... It was a piece of bone. No big deal, it happens sometimes. Then, I took another bite, spit out two smaller pieces of bone. My boyfriend called over the waiter and we explained to him the situation. He responds saying that it happens because they use a mix of ground pork and beef and doesn't apologize at all. He asks if I want something else, so I ordered the skirt steak because I was turned off of burgers. A manager comes out and apologized and said the same thing about bones being in it because it was a mix of meats. They offer a free dessert, which ended up with us only taking one bite out of it because it was not good. In the end, we got charged for the higher amount item (skirt steak) instead of the short rib burger... Which, I don't think is fair because I wouldn't have ordered the skirt steak if my burger didn't have bones in it. This place is a weekly lunch spot for me. Much less hectic than it's sister in Mountain View, with friendly servers and great food. I highly recommend the chicken sliders, but unless you like burn your mouth hot, get the Reaper sauce on the side. The chicken tacos have an equally tear inducing sauce, so buyer beware there as well. They are full of juicy white meat chicken though, and one is a hearty meal with leftovers for later. Needs a serious reboot. It was nice for about a week when it opened... Great to have some decent new American food around the area. Service was spotty our first few trips, somewhat expected for a new location. But it hasn't gotten better. The good: decent atmosphere though most 2-tops are too close together. Don't be talking shop in here. Nice whiskey collection and an okay beer lineup, but not much else from the bar. Nice patio. Burgers are decent. They actually have a chicken sandwich/slider, too (rare in these parts). The bad: The salads are almost universally terrible. You will NEVER get fresh French fries with any meal -- so much so we just specifically order them as hot now because they're always cold and dry by the time they're served otherwise. The first few visits the managers comp'd us for the cold food but that has since stopped... Most of the food is honestly bland. The appetizers are really pretty terrible. The ugly: The service. It's just awful, and has declined further in recent weeks. You will get cold food. Your order will have something wrong if it deviates at all from the menu. You will get rolled eyes or refusals from the staff for substitution requests or removals. Don't even think about asking for a Caesar side salad, for example. They literally claim they cannot make a side salad with Caesar dressing on it -- I've tried twice! Split checks? Ha! You'd think you'd asked them to solve world hunger. And don't expect to come in here and leave in less than an hour, even when it's quiet. read more

I would give it five stars but had to take off a star for service. Stopped by for a late Sunday night dinner and there were a bunch of open tables. We got seated right away but it took forever to place our orders and to get our check at the end even though it was really empty. There were a lot of people working and I'm not even completely sure who our server was because three different people helped us. I feel like our server wasn't doing their job so other people had to step in. Reallllly slow service and I'm not sure why. Other than that, everything was great. I love the vibe and look of this place, super cute especially at night. I ordered the corn dogs as an appetizer, original eureka burger with a side of onion rings, and a mimosa because it's $5 all weekend. All really good, would come back for it. I've been the Eureka in Berkeley, and was excited they opened one here in the South Bay. I went in on a Sunday afternoon, so it was definitely quieter than evenings would be I'm sure. There's a nice large outdoor seating area + full bar. The service was very good and our waiter brought us everything quite quickly. Food was also tasty and fresh. The cocktail menu is interesting, great selection of beers and whiskey but food is uninspiring and expensive. The lobster taco is good but not enough to fill up one for $17. The fried chicken sliders are not crispy and they charge $2 for substitution of fries. The service is very very ..very slow. If I return , I will stick to happy hour and drinks. I've been to the Bakersfield location twice and loved it, so I was very excited they were opening one here in the Bay. This place is great for burgers, beer and whiskey! They have pappy van winkle. $100 for a pour of the 23 year old, which is a good price as other places charge more. I think it's worth trying if you're a whiskey lover. As for food, you can't go wrong with the bone marrow burger. I had the brussel sprouts for an app and they were delicious! I also had the Napa chicken sandwich which was Excellent! Our server was Kayla, she Very knowledgeable on beer, and really friendly and attenatvie.
