A little confusing when you're trying to order because some people are yelling at you to order at the "deli" counter and then some workers are also yelling at you to order at the registers toward the front of the store. They offer premade selections, but you can also build your own sandwich, salad, pasta... they have pastries and desserts as well. There's not too much in way of seating. Maybe 10ish small tables packed into a small spot. As for the food, it was average. Got a build your own bagel sandwich, but there wasn't much to it or nothing to rave about. I had a sweet tooth and couldn't be in New York and not get a slice of cheesecake. I'm not necessarily one of those people who have to have a fruit topping so just a slice of plain cheesecake will always do the trick. The cake was moist, melted in my mouth and was absolutely delicious. The bakery was packed with patrons and had a nice set up for if patrons wanted to sit in and eat their pasty or sandwich. Customer service was exceptional and even with the number of people making purchases, the same level of friendliness was given to each person. I think I may have to make another stop today...whose worrying about calories...it's the holidays. My husband had the read pudding which was light, fluffy and also delicious. read more

Run run far away from here. Staff was awful. I went here for an Allset deal. Not worth. I came a few minutes early and they refused to make my order even though I had the receipt. I waited an extra 15 minutes "for the order to come through". Then I felt I had to order a coffee then. This is exactly what happened when I talked to the front desk girl. "Excuse me how many shots or expresso are in your Americano?" "2 shots," said register girl (I looks at the menu sign behind the register girl) "oh is says your Americano is $2.75 and your expresso is $3.75?" "yes," said register girl "How many shots of expresso are in the expresso?" "2," said register "Uh that's wierd, Okay then I'll take the americano" Register girl rings up coffee $4.05. "What I ordered an americano?" "No, you said you wanted to shots?" "You told me the Americano was $2.75 and that's what's listed in your menu sign" "No, that means American Coffee" .... so frustrated. I ended up paying for my coffee finally getting my Allset order and I sat down to eat in the far back corner of this cafe. THEN, this girl and two of her colleagues perhaps one was a manager proceeds to talk about the entire situation that happened in this twisted and negative way in which I was confused, while I was still in the cafe. I did let them know I heard everything they said and to not talk about customers while they are STILL HERE. No Class, RUDE, horrible customer service, the coffee was awful, the sandwich claims to be European but it was just bacon, egg and cheese smushed with orange kraft like cheese. Run. Another cafe on the busy Times Square area, and good to go pick up food from if you're in a rush and you want something standard. Their sandwiches are good, salads even better. Drinks are ok, not that much variety. Desserts looked good, and seemed to be priced decently too. I tried the mozzarella pesto and tomato panini. It was tasty, warmed up and nothing less than I expected it to be. The cafe gets a lot of foot traffic, so I understand it's a difficult job, but the staff did try to keep the cafe clean. But the entire staff was so boisterous, I could not get past it. It's a convenient place to pick up a quick bite. read more

My husband is on the Keto diet. This means no cheesecake for mama while he's around. While on a walk back to the hotel from the Itrepid museum I had the craving for NY cheesecake. I consulted my handy-dandy Yelp app... which is what everyone should do. It gave me directions to Europa Cafe. I picked up a cherry cheesecake to take back to the hotel. It was fluffy and creamy, with a cake crust layer. The cherry topping was a little skimpy, but it was enough if you scooped it sparingly. I can't say it was the absolute best, but it was pretty good NYC cheesecake. I'd return when back in the area. read more

Stopped here after a bus tour to warm up with some hot chocolate and some pastries. I got a Napoleon and my sister got an eclair. She said her eclair was good. Wish I could say the same. I think mine came straight from the freezer. I couldn't saw off a piece. What a mess, and totally flavorless! I would have been better off going to La Madeleine. We went in around 10:00 at night. They were out of basically everything. After ordering a few things that they didn't have, I settled on the black bean burger. I guess he thought if he put cheese on a regular hamburger that I wouldn't know. We also ordered 1 of each of their cookies(by the pound) and after we paid realized he filled the bag.
