    Sandwiches too!

I had a sweet tooth and couldn't be in New York and not get a slice of cheesecake. I'm not necessarily one of those people who have to have a fruit topping so just a slice of plain cheesecake will always do the trick. The cake was moist, melted in my mouth and was absolutely delicious. The bakery was packed with patrons and had a nice set up for if patrons wanted to sit in and eat their pasty or sandwich. Customer service was exceptional and even with the number of people making purchases, the same level of friendliness was given to each person. I think I may have to make another stop today...whose worrying about calories...it's the holidays. My husband had the read pudding which was light, fluffy and also delicious.

The cookies and red velvet cake delicious. I also had a cappuccino and my friend had the prosciutto sandwich which she loved. Came back twice for cookies. Will be back again.

Everything here looks delicious. I had been passing this place for a few days and I couldn't help but think of the baked goods in their window. I finally stopped in and got a cannoli and a layered strawberry cake dessert. I could probably eat here for days because I want to try everything.

Seems vegetarian options are slim in NYC so I was happy to stumble here while walking Times Square. May be back to try a cannoli. My daughter had the chicken part & loved it so all in all is was a hit. Just wish they had a decent size bottle of pellogrino

Stopped here after a bus tour to warm up with some hot chocolate and some pastries. I got a Napoleon and my sister got an eclair. She said her eclair was good. Wish I could say the same. I think mine came straight from the freezer. I couldn't saw off a piece. What a mess, and totally flavorless! I would have been better off going to La Madeleine. Also after spending $24.50 I was told after I paid and was seated that the rest room wasn't working. Guess I will have head somewhere else and spend some more $$ to use a bathroom.

Love this place for a quick bite before the Theater. They have lots of vegan and vegetarian options. Pleasant atmosphere and clean.

The food is good but the staff gives horrible service. I will never go to this cafe again. Especially the guy behind the paninis.

The food is good but the staff is horrible!!! The guy behind the panini's is the worst. I will never go there again. Yes, it's clean and the food is good but when your service is bad, why even go there?

The sheer number of options left us indecisive about our order. The display was a stunning visual spread, impossible to ignore.

Excellent cannoli! Huge and great for the price. I went at 7pm, small wait, lots of customers eating in.

I saw a beautiful cupcake in window. And it was just as good as it looked(red velvet). Nice service, quick.

Love the apple turnover. I've had about 5 on this trip alone. It's so flaky and perfectly sweet. Grilled cheese is worth trying too.

BUT, my husband and I recently took a trip to Paris and I also love pain aux raisins. To our delight, Cafe Bilboquet has those too, so my friend and I each had a small coffee and a pain aux raisins. The pastry was as good as any that my husband and I had in Paris! I've also had lunch here with a couple of other friends in recent months. They have a good variety of pretty authentic French sandwiches and some quiches, eggs, etc. Not inexpensive, but the food is top-notch. You order at the counter, then move up to the cashier, tell them what your order is and pay for it. If you're lucky, as we were around 9:45 this morning, you'll get one of the little round tables where you can sit and chat and relax; in good weather there are some tables outside as well; a lovely boulangerie or patisserie experience!

Upon getting closer to the door, I learned it's part of Le Bilboquet restaurant on the same block. It wasn't too crowded when I visited on a Tuesday mid-afternoon. Every table except 1 was full, but most people were heading outside on such a beautiful day with their drinks and pastries. The cafe is very cute and French. They have so many pastries I couldn't decide, so I ordered a pain au chocolat and tea. They serve Harney & Sons teas. This is a lovely spot, and I'll return to try more.

I always get almond croissants from coffee shops but wow this one has to be one of my favorites. The crunchy (sugar?) top coating and the filling were delectable. I got one of the seasonal spring drinks, called "Karl" which is a banana cold brew with cold foam. I don't even like cold brews since they tend to be super strong and pretty bitter, and banana can be a hit or miss, but I enjoyed the hell out of this drink. It was a bit sweet, which I like, and the cold brew itself had a banana flavor when I had just expected it to come from the cold foam. I didn't sit or stay inside as I had to go to work, but there are a few (maybe 5 I think?) chairs along a bar counter on the side. Plants in the window too which I love. The barista was nice and made the drinks quickly despite being there by herself early in the morning (or at least I didn't see another employee). I recommended this place to my coworkers and can't wait to go back and try the other drink options!

Theres a shared bar table along one wall with high top chairs and menu options at the counter + a chalkboard with seasonal drinks. I left with a Balthazar Bakery box with 4 items. The 2 Everything pastries were filled with what looked like spinach and cheese. Incredible when reheated, but I wish they were served warm. The cinnamon roll was good, but not standout. The pain au chocolat was tender and flaky. Some of the seasonal drinks, like the Grinch, looked really good and I'd come back to try one, but I likely wouldn't swing for a pastry this time.
