Went to Evelyn for Christmas Eve with my wife. Ambience was great. The DJ played music by the decade in coordination with the hour... 70's when we arrived and 80s when we left. We came back and gave Evelyn another chance. First I need to give a shoutout to one of the managers, Nick, who personally called me to get additional feedback on what they could do better. So I came back with my husband on Saturday and was so pleasantly surprised at a) the service we got and b) the food. We had minor hiccup in the beginning where the prosecco came out flat but our server gladly replaced it. For appetizers we got the Parker House rolls (I LOVE all the butters they give with it) and oysters (delicious and fresh) and the Bluefin Tuna Crudo (nice and light and so good with a perfect kick to it!). For dinner my husband got a medium rare filet which was cooked perfectly but a bit on the salty side. I got the sea bass which was delicious (personal preference would have been as Asian sauce but it was still delicious). We got the broccolini side (very good) and the ribeye mac and cheese (I liked it but didn't love it). For dessert we got the Samoa sundae which had all the coconut flavors but no chocolate! It just came with a chocolate dipped biscotti but the bowl should've been lined with chocolate sauce or something. Reservation was for 9:15 and we were sat at 9:25. Our server was almost immediate and knowledgeable over the menu. We sat in the Ruby room which has a gorgeous chandelier perfect for photo ops. We ordered the Wagyu meatballs for an appetizer which they were good but lacked flavor to me. I had to smother the meatball with the sauce to truly enjoy so I would give it a 3/5. The Passionate Kiss was the cocktail I ordered and it somewhat reminds me of a P**nstar Martini. I had two of those and it was delicious 5/5. For our entrees we ordered Lamb Chops, Ribeye Chicarron Macaroni, Creamed Spinach and Filet Mignon Steak with Truffle Tallow Parmesan Fries. The Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection with an amazing Chimichurri sauce (5/5) Ribeye Chicarron Macaroni was lackluster in flavors completely but very cheesy and alot of meat yes but no seasoning or true flavor. (2/5) Creamed Spinach was the worst for me that night it wasn't truly creamy more so watery with no flavor at all but our server was so nice we kept it. It's the vibes! With that out of the way well dive right in to it. There were high expectations as this place has a long waitlist for reservations. First off La Reyna, drink is very citrusy but good, was it impressive? not really. Espresso martini . Great presentation good grinds, but again nothing out of the ordinary .I'll stop there as the drink menu was very underwhelming it didn't create the wow factor for me. Hot apps: Crab cake. The crab cake were tasty, paired well with the mustard lemon aioli. The slaw could have used way less dressing, too soupy, I say this becuase it was very runny all across the plate. Cold Apps: bluefin ahí tuna crudo- I like spicy stuff , but if you are not warned before you get this dish consider this a warning, it may be spicy. I get everyone is going to give a take on a dish in this case a crudo is simple . You let the protein do the talking and a couple of nice pairing sauces. The tuna gets lost in this dish it's overpowered by so many other variants that you forget it's a crudo. Out of 10 if I had to rate I would def go with a 5 on this one Wagyu beef carpaccio was amazing. Good quality meet and the taste of it was phenomenal def recommend Oysters on the half shell, again really good and fresh I can eat a dozen by myself and pair it with their dirty martini. What could have been a stellar experience was unfortunately mired by such terrible service that we doubt we'll ever be back! Sure, The ambience is fun & inviting but all the glitz & glam is null & void if you cannot treat (paying) guests with kindness & respect. We (a group of 4 ladies) sat at the bar and literally no one acknowledged us for a clean 20 minutes. No hello, no water, no menus, no eye contact - NOTHING. We typically wouldn't wait that long to flag someone, but we had grace to give as they've just opened so we thought they could be overwhelmed. What infuriated us was the fact that there were almost 7 people in that bar section (1st one as soon as you walk in) yet none of them paid any mind to us. At the 25 min mark, I went to the host and alerted her. She seemed shocked, apologized and said she would flag someone which she did. Mallory (who was at the bar the entire time) then approached us and quipped "how can I help you??" No apologies or explanations, nothing. She seemed so bothered & irritated by us that we felt like we were being reprimanded for doing something wrong. She was SO RUDE the entire time, constantly interrupted us, had a horrible attitude, spilled drinks as she delivered them, never once refilled our waters or asked how the food was, charged us for wrong items on our checks wrong, just HORRIBLE! It was honestly so bad that some of us left without tipping which we NEVER DO. Service is EVERYTHING. Good staff will make or break an establishment. I hope they do better on this front. read more

Honestly, your average steakhouse! However, I think the price point is on the more expensive side. The appetizers were pretty good but I wasn't impressed with my entree. For the appetizers we ordered the beef carpaccio and cheesesteak bites. Both delicious maybe even better than the entree! Someone else at the table got the lamb chops, I typically don't like lamb but they were actually better tasting than I imagined. I got the filet mignon (12oz) and added bone marrow. I was not impressed I thought bone marrow was suppose to be delicious and flavorful. It tasted like unsalted butter or maybe even grease was just added on top of my steak. Again... the sides might have even been better than the entree. We got the au gratin potatoes (delicious), jumbo asparagus (they were jumbo), and the chicharron Mac and cheese. Sides all yummy! The atmosphere was SO LOUD. It felt like everyone was practically screaming at eachother to hold a conversation and this was the case for each section. We booked in the "fine dining" section and it was still very loud. I did order an espresso martini and I will say it might've been one of my top espresso martinis ever. So definitely order one of those! Overall, service was great. Never had an empty cup or needed to wait on anything being asked for. The only complaint I have is when you ask for a box, they box it for you and they did not box my sides they were discarded... anyways. I was invited back after having to cancel my first reservation at the restaurant due to the kitchen being already closed. This time, I went with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday and was able to enjoy the full dining experience. The restaurant offers complimentary valet, and everyone we interacted with was kind and welcoming. They even took our picture in front of the sign. We already knew what we wanted, so we ordered everything at once, and the timing of each course was well paced. For appetizers, we had the yellowtail sashimi, jumbo prawn cocktail, and the Calabrian Caesar with extra dressing on the side. We finished all of them, and our favorite was definitely the yellowtail sashimi. For my entrée, I chose the chicken rigatoni alla vodka. The dish came with a thin slice of fried chicken drizzled with hot honey, which added a nice touch. The rigatoni alla vodka tasted more homemade. As someone who often orders rigatoni alla vodka, I would say this version reminded me of the one you would make at home from a recipe online. My boyfriend ordered the boneless prime ribeye, which he ranked in his top three steaks. We shared two sides, the mac and cheese and the roasted broccoli. The broccoli was served with a side of housemade Dijon mustard, which was very strong, so just a small dip went a long way. The mac and cheese was creamy and satisfying, and we both enjoyed it. For dessert, the team surprised us with a complimentary sticky toffee bundt cake served with ice cream as well as a New York style cheesecake. I am usually not a fan of cheesecake, but this one had a caramel crust on top that I really enjoyed. The bundt cake was rich and warm, similar to a chocolate lava cake, and we finished it completely. We tried several cocktails throughout the evening, and the featured blackberry martini stood out as the best as someone that likes more sweet fruity drinks. Keep your eyes closed because I'm about to take you through an amazing experience! We were greeted by such pretty and welcoming hostesses dressed in these groovy black dresses and although we were running late they still had a table saved for us in room 7. Btw, this place is much bigger than it looks!! From the hostess stand, you can see the Ruby room which is in fact very ruby and very sexy! If you go to the left, there is a room they call the Piano room which is more for formal dinners. If you go to the right you'll be in room 7 which has a disco ball, another bar, and a DJ! And beyond that is the Champagne room which is purple and super intimate. Our waitress Francine was not only kind, knowledgeable and gorgeous, but she was really patient with us as my friend and I hadn't seen each other in 48hrs so we had a lot to catch up on!
