My first time visiting Evergreen Beauty and Wellness. I am not familiar with this area despite moving in Sacramento about 4 years ago from SF. I was in dire need of a haircut. Since the pandemic back in March I haven't had my haircut. I texted my hair stylist upon arrival. She lets me in and had her mask. Because of COVID every customer who enter the salon have to get their hands sanitized. Every staff and customer all wore masks. The inside is very warm and comfy. My stylist is Anh. She's very funny, soft spoken and very attentive. I wanted to go shorter because my ends were fried from years of coloring my hair. I requested 3 inch off, with layers and the front bangs to frame my big-wide face. My hair cut took about an hour (as expected) because I have thick hair. We did have a lil chat. I don't mind because that's how we get to know each other and communicating with your stylist a lil will help out the end results of the hairstyle/haircut you've desired. Anh has been doing my hair the past couple of years and always does a fantastic job. She's super patient and realistic about what she can achieve with your hair. (Don't expect to have dark hair and go to platinum blonde in one session). If you're looking to go light, expect to book a few sessions so you don't kill and damage your hair! After a year, I finally made an appointment to get my hair colored. With the pregnancy and a newborn, I knew I had to do it soon or later. Thank goodness I finally decided to do and did it with Anh. She was very accommodating. I booked her last minute while on my way to Sacramento from San Jose. She asked me for a picture of an inspired look I want and my current hair length and booked me right away. She knew I had to leave San Jose early and didn't have time to eat so she asked her husband to bring me a Vietnamese sandwich since he was already dropping off one for her. She took her time on my hair. I think I was her second client of the day before she closed up. She was very kind and professional. My hair turned out beautifully better than the picture I showed her. Besides hair, she also does make up as well. She does make up for all occasions so make sure you ask her about it. She's literally the sweetest hair stylist and I always get what I want when I come to her. The hair studio itself is very cute and quaint, everyone who works there is nice. She also works efficiently, meaning I can be done in 4 hours or less. I typically get my hair's balayage redone and a haircut which totals to around $200-$250 depending on the look. For a guy who has never seen the necessity of a haircut any fancier than what one could receive at Sport Clips, I couldn't help but be impressed with the fine job Ali did on my son's head. She transformed a shaggy messy of baby curls into the presentable (yet still slightly curly) doo of a young boy. Evergreen as a studio is pleasant and tucked into a nice brick building behind a nursery in Oak Park. The stylists all seemed to be in good moods and had their stations filled with many customers, yet it was still a fairly quiet and calm atmosphere. It's an emotional roller coaster for any parent to see their son grow up and shed those remnants of babyhood. Ali eased our minds and gave our little boy a respectable haircut. I had scheduled an app with her a month and a half prior to my app. On the day of my app i let her know i had put the wrong address into my apple maps but that i was headed over to her. She stated she would not take me even tho id be well within the 15 minute grace period. My app was at 7:45 and i would have arrived at 7:51. I was upset after i got up and got my 1 year old up and ready. I sat on the side of the road scrambling trying to figure out what to do. I'm updating my review because I've recently started seeing Heather for facials. I had some not-so-great experiences with facials in the past and stopped getting them until a couple months ago. Heather is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. She starts each appointment listening to my concerns and tailors the service based on that. Also, whether you're there for a more relaxing experience or maybe a little less so with extractions, she'll give you the experience you want. I've gone for relaxation so far on my visits (and oh how relaxing it is!) but plan on getting extractions done next time. She uses Cosmedix products, which I've started using at home and really find to be effective. I feel while still a work in progress, my complexion has improved since I've started seeing Heather and using Cosmedix. The products are on the pricier side but are worth it since they last a long time and so far seem to be effective. I've asked her for body product recommendations as well, and I must say I'm obsessed with the Hip & Chick Flower Power lotion that they also carry in the salon because to me it just smells sooooo good. I continue to see Holly as she's my favorite person for haircuts and has been for many years now. She gives me exactly what I ask for and is great about making my hair look healthier and thicker. On top of it all, she's super cute and bubbly and so much fun to talk to! I always look forward to my visits with Holly :) She has also introduced me to Davines hair products which they sell in the salon. I still am a huge fan of the Kevin Murphy line, but Davines would be my next favorite. Prices for both haircuts with Holly and facials with Heather are very reasonable, and you can book appointments with them online. Also, parking is usually pretty easy to find whether in the free lot across the street or on the street right in front itself. (Just watch for the street signs.) This salon is amazing! My hair stylist was Anh. I am from New Orleans and everytime I come, I always visit Anh. Anh started my hair lightening journey July 2018. Back home, stylist aren't really articulate and have patience like Anh did with my hair. She took her time and did section by section.
