After consulting with another billing company, the over billing is a fact - or rather - the selected items for the bills are overlapped across several items, especially for a same day billing. As a result, I cannot use my benefits this year due its 12 mon / 6 mon policy per item listed that are available to me. As a patient, I am not educated about how billing thing works like most, and only find out next year that you abused my insurance policy, and as a result it prohibited me from taking advantage of it in the following year. The response was that some items were likely declined as a result of your over billing, regardless, the benefits are lost on my end. You office checked off way too many items off of my available policy instead of just a few that is appropriate for the services, and yes they're hard coded, just to get more $ out of my insurance company. It's a disappointing discovery becuz this year I have to out pocket most of the dental costs as a result. Anyways, your response is irreverent to my complaint and I understand you want to maintain your reputation. People should know however that they should check their billing prior your submission to prevent this from happening. This is a closed case for me as its irreversible at this point, and I really did not expect a communication in public here about my health either. I met Alexie a few years ago at my gym and decided to check him out as a DDS. His office is beautiful. Completely state of the art and comfortable in every way. I interacted with four different staff people plus the Doctor and they were all top-notch professionals. The office runs smoothly and you can tell that cleanliness and sterility are a priority. Hands down- Best experience at the Dentist. The staff were uber friendly and professional. The entrance of the office makes you feel like you are at a Spa. Which, I would imagine be perfect for kids since it does not have that daunting cold- lifeless- hospital environment. The hours are perfect for my crazy work schedule along with the location being quite accessible. Dr. A was meticulous and diligent. Dr. A took both environmentally friendly and organic methods to my mouth using a tonic mouth wash with no alcohol. Dr. A was very helpful and caring. He truly cares about his patients teeth/mouth. I am excited and looking forward for my next appointments. I left with a great big smile; thinking how amazing my mouth/teeth felt after getting a gum/teeth clean treatment. I have never enjoyed the dentist, but I actually had a great time at Exquisite Dentistry. I was greeted warmly by Michael the moment I walked in the door and was encouraged to make myself comfortable and ask as many questions and develop a relationship with Dr. Aguil and my hygenist, Raul. Both are extremely friendly and thorough in their explanations. Normally, when I go to the dentist I feel bamboozled and don't understand totally what they are talking about when they point out flaws, defects, caries, or other issues with my teeth. Dr. Aguil not only took great x-rays of my teeth, he also explained thoroughly my treatment plan and why we needed to do certain things. Even better, he used an intraoptic camera in my mouth to give me a visual tour of my teeth. While I did have a few cavities, the ability to actually see them and have them pointed out put me at ease. I don't feel like I'm being given the business or something shady for invention. I saw exactly what my problems were and I developed a treatment plan with Dr. Aguil to get the cavities filled. Then came the cleaning. If you hate the gouging, sticking, and sometime painful experience of the dentist, this is your golden ticket. The prophy jets (high powered saline spray polishers) combined with Dr. Aguil and his team's experienced and gentle touch got me through the experience with minimal discomfort. In fact, I was relaxed and comfortable through the entire experience! I could probably fall asleep in the chair, as they are extremely comfortable and you feel like you are floating on a cloud. Even better, you get to watch Netflix while they work, which helps pass the time. I watched an episode of Raising Hope and was done before I knew it, and my mouth honestly never felt so clean. Exquisite Dentistry really goes out of their way to ensure you are comfortable and happy. I definitely will be a repeat patient and if things continue to go well, I might consider getting some cosmetic work done in the near future. I must say, this is probably the best dentist experience I have ever had in my life. Not to mention the very VIP treatment (Free coffee & tea, blanket, Netflix during the treatment, warm herb scented towel after the treatment etc...) The staff are all kind and extremely welcoming. My daughter and I had our appointments with Exquisite Dentistry a few weeks ago and it was great... even fun. The exam was thorough, the information presented very detailed and the entire staff seemed very caring. Other reviews that talk about the VIP treatment aren't exaggerating. They have a Netflix subscription and TVs over each seat - the actually tracked down the episode of Dexter I was watching and even fast forwarded to the exact point for me. They also give you noise canceling head phones when you are watching. If you're like me going to the Dentist is NOT a regular thing. Honestly I fear the pain involved and the discomfort so much I have avoided going to the dentist as regularly as one should. Which means when I do have to get work done it's major. So I was very worried when I had to get 3 cavities filled I remember in the past the pain of getting a Novocain shot. The discomfort of stuff in your mouth and having to sit idly in a chair for a long time. Well I can report a complete exquisite experience! There was no pain what so ever and they are using some next level tech that didn't feel intrusive in my mouth. Not to mention I got to watch Netflix the whole time. 3 cavities BIG ONES and it felt like no time at all in the chair. The staff is super knowledgeable and beyond friendly. This morning I got a call from the person I had originally spoke to, and he apologized for the mix up and offered to clean my teeth for free. I really appreciated the gesture, and I was able to get free parking and get in the same day. I feel like they really did a great job on my teeth, and the staff was great. I knew I had some additional work that needed to be done, and so the Dr. gave me a treatment plan for that. When I got the price for the next treatment, I was kinda shocked! It's really expensive! I'm not sure how the same procedure would be at another place, but I can't imagine it being much more. So, overall, they really made the effort to make me happy, but I'm certainly going to check the pricing at other offices to see if it's reasonable. read more

The place is super clean and furnish with a great taste (trust me I'm Italian I know what taste is), the staff is professional and well organized. Nancilee will greet you at the door with her beautiful smile and she is always ready to work on your problems and she has a lot of patience. Doctor Alexi is a wonderful person, full of talent and professionalism, he is also different from other doctors, he has sense of humor!! Their prices can seem higher but their quality is too, and honestly I prefer quality over cheap doctors. Gah, I really don't like leaving bad reviews but every time I think of my visits I get really annoyed... I'll give them props for customer service and friendliness, but... I've had about 4 dentists in my life. My usual exams don't take more than 1.5hrs excluding paperwork... My first visit was almost a whopping 3 hours! Not including paperwork. This happened for my bf's appointment too. But hey, paying $8 to park with no validation, you might as well use up your time... They have Netflix so pick a movie. A long movie -like Lord of The Rings...or something. Yes, you can argue that they are very thorough but I felt like they were treating me more like a business than person that made minimum wage. During my consultation I was quoted nearly 2K for 'pre-cavities' in all corners of my mouth. I wish I was exaggerating but I forked over ~$400 for one quadrant of my mouth to get 'fixed'. The other year my previous dentist fixed one tooth and said I was good to go! I treat my teeth well! They shouldn't need special care. (I'm at a new dentist now and they also said my teeth were in healthy condition-no cavities!) I also was asked about getting Invisalign in which, this girl had braces for 2yrs and has a permanent retainer keeping her teeth straight! The only gap talking to you is the one between my lips! To make matters worse, upon leaving my last appointment, they asked if I'd like to buy a $35 mouthwash (the size of the kinds at most stores). Now, I'm not poor but I'm definitely not that fancy... They said I could split it for me and my bf. Ha, fat chance. Overall, I came for one bothersome tooth. Got quoted for all my molars which was equal to a month's rent, was seriously asked about straightening my teeth, and tried to sell expensive mouthwash all in a long initial visit while paying for parking w/ no validation. read more

A New Experience No one really enjoys going to the dentist. Just the thought of it sends chills down your spine. The sound of drills grinding, metal instruments being rattled and the distinctive roar of a vacuum extracting the saliva from your mouth. In spite of these trepidations I made an appointment at Exquisite Dentistry for an invisalign consultation. Walking into the office one is taken away from the hustle of daily life and transported into a relaxing atmosphere. As I sat down in the reception area I was greeted warmly by the front desk staff with pleasant smiles and top notch customer service. A door opened and one of the dental staff asked if I would follow her to the dental chair. As I walked in I heard soft music playing in the background which eased any fears. My eyes quickly scanned the interiors. The color palate was warm with muted colors. The décor was contemporary the surroundings were spacious. Suddenly it didn't seem like a cold, white walled dentist office of yesterday but more like a day spa. I sat down in the chair in anticipating to see Dr. Aguil. The area around the chair was lined with the latest dental technology and a TV screen to show me a video on the basics of invisalign treatment. The space was roomy and it didn't fill like they tried to cram everything in to a small cubical type space as was the case with my old dental office. Dr. Aguil arrived a few minutes later to further explain the treatments to me. He was very thorough in his explanation. He made sure to answer all of my questions and concerns. There was no pressure for me to make a decision right then and there which made me feel comfortable. He told me, "When you're ready, come back in." Even though he gave me some time to think about moving forward with the straitening treatment I knew this was the dentist for me. My experience was amazing. When I was a kid I had a mouthful of braces and extenders, retainers and even something called a distal jet (which sounds a lot cooler than it felt) and the process left just about all of my teeth decalcified and eroded. Also, I may have avoided flossing but I plead the fifth. Then I moved to LA and after years of denial finally accepted that my teeth were in distress. I found the amazing Dr. Aguil and his equally attentive, supportive staff via Yelp and it was the best choice I could have made: I had stained teeth, cavities like canyons, and needed a very delicate crown on an essential tooth. With insurance, all were taking care of at reasonable prices -- in shockingly few and quick appointments. Within a month I found myself with a bright white smile, almost zero pain (seriously), and all cavities repaired to perfection. This staff is both professional experts and charming company. I'll never dread a dentist appointment again. Recently went for a regular cleaning and to my shock what I thought were small-but-permanent new stains on my front teeth were cleared instantly. Scheduling new appointments a few months from now was a no-brainer. This group is the best in LA. I almost don't want to get the word out bc they're so good I want to keep them under the radar -- but they're already soaring and others deserve the treatment I continue to receive. Did I mention they let you watch Netflix on a personal screen with comfortable headphones during any procedure? Personally I now prefer the banter with the staff, but on my first few nervous visits it was a luxury. In particular Dr. Aguil replaced an essential tooth with a crown that is a masterpiece; it's feels and looks better than I could have ever expected. You would never know it's not my original tooth. They have cozy blankets, lavender essential oil room spray for relaxation, lip balm which they apply during your treatments to keep your lips from chapping, Netflix and iso headphones. Update: Dr. Aguil and his clinical staff are spectacular. Truly amazing. I even ran into Dr. Aguil once outside of patient setting, and it was a pleasure to greet each other. I trust his work, and the gentle care of is clinical staff. His administrative staff on the other hand are the opposite. The front office had a high turnover of font office staff, which made it difficult to schedule appointments. And, the Office Manager has NO customer service. So, to sum this, the clinical work is amazing! But because of poor customer service from the admin staff, I have decided to take my care elsewhere. I've been twice thusfar. I was on the prowl for a new dentist. My previous dentist did not have weekend hours. MY FIRST VISIT - I made an appointment online. Which was amazing. I sent the request and within an hour or so the friendly receptionist called to schedule me. I had an initial consultation and I will say, I was amazed. The office is VERY well kept. Very modern chic and relaxing. RIGHT...relaxing? It is. The place makes you feel comfortable. Within 3 min, of having arrived, one of the staff escorted me to the chair. Mind you, all insurance issues had been addressed before the visit- so it was a breeze once there. I was offered water and made sure I was relaxed. The staff is so friendly, they bring a new meaning to customer service. As the dental assistant prepared me, they offered for me to view Netflix as I waited. MEETING THE DOCTOR- When I Dr. Aguil came in, he was extremley nice, gentle and welcoming. He made you feel like all his time was yours and was there to answer any questions. Since it was an initial consulation he let me know what I needed and let his Office Manger talk to me about pricing. The Office Manger preped quotes for me and sat with me to explain everything. She was very helpful. I LOVE the fact that I asked for a return visit to begin work. The staff was not pushy nor was Dr. Aguil. SECOND VISIT- I walked in to the office and before I could say hello, I was greeted by my name. It was cool and a bit weird. Lol But I liked it. I was offered water - room temp or cold. I was taken to the chair, and was prepared for the work. I needed a bridge. WOW! That was an amazing experience. Everyone was so friendlly. Every so often they would stop to make sure I was okay and wasn't feeling any pain. I was asked if I needed anything. All during which, I was watching Netflix with headphones on while the Doctor did his job. Dr. Aguil so super nice and for once- I was not nervous to be at the dentist. Overall. This is an awesome place. Hours are amazing. Parking can be a hassle but if you give yourself a heads up, you can find free residental parking. Dr. Aguil is awesome. I will say- his pricing his a bit high, but honestly it's well worth it. I'd rather pay a bit more and trust the work, then save a few bucks and get shotty work done. I've been getting annual or semi-annual checkups and care of my teeth for decades. I went to exquisite dentistry a few years ago. I was told that I had several cavities (I can't recall how many--but lots more than ONE), and was advised to have lots of work done. Years have passed, I've had numerous X-rays, and to this day--still NO CAVITIES. I was shocked to be told that my mouth had decayed to that horrible condition (having relocated, I was looking for a new dentist). I don't believe the evaluation was correct--and it seems that it was more a matter of trying to sell me on services I did not need. So---one star, because there is no zero star rating for "run away and avoid." Many here are raving about the office decor and Netflix. Are other people being told they have a mouthful of problems that no other dentist has found before---or since?? That was my experience. read more

I hate going to the dentist. My experience has been that most don't listen to your concerns or past problems, which often leads to a stressful or painful visit. I recently lost my job, I needed to get a lot of dental work done before my insurance ran out. One of my issues is pain... No matter how much Novocaine, I don't get totally numb. Nitrous Oxide or laughing gas + Novocaine is what I found blocks all the pain. With other dentists, I have requested NO2 - yet when I arrive my appt I get an excuse (tank is empty, gas passer is out) or they insist I use valium instead of No2 (Valium leaves me dopy for hours afterwards, and doesn't work as well as No2). No such issues with Dr. Aguil, he listened to my concerns, explained the down side (increased cost), he was also considerate of my financial situation, and structured my treatment plan to fix as much as possible under my insurance. Let me repeat.... I really hate going to the dentist. I DID NOT hate going to Dr. Agiul. read more

They use all the new technologies available in this field and even provide Netflix to help distract you and pass the time. I have since moved from the area, but went to Dr. Aguil for a year or two. While I was there I always felt a bit like he was trying to fill a LOT of teeth. I.e. I had been to the dentist within a year of seeing him and had maybe 2 "watch and wait" cavities according to that dentist. In Aguil's office, they rolled out with 16 or so cavities on my "plan"! It seemed like a ton to me-- but they assured me I need not fill them all at once. So we began filling them by region-- 3-4 at a time every six months. For the first visit they were nice about waiting at times for my insurance, but then would tell me I "needed" 3-4 cavities filled every 6 months or so, and I didn't feel like I always got a good explanation. From listening in to other patients rolling in, it seemed that everyone had three cavities or more at a time. Last year, for one cavity, while filling, he admitted that I MIGHT need a root canal because it was so bad that he had to drill extra deep. After that filling, there was a huge gap between two of my teeth, which he fixed for free on my next visit (that was nice). In any case, though, it was disappointing how much my tooth hurt from the extra deep filling. I couldn't bite down on that side for months. He said to come back if it hurt after a month and we could talk root canal-- but gosh that scared me. Then I moved and got a new dentist. The new dentist said I didn't need the 3-4 fillings that Aguil's office said I should get next (last January)-- and that I wouldn't need a root canal-- just time to heal-- what a relief. Six months later my tooth is fine. My biggest concern is that I think this office often is trying to maximize profits-- they send postcards asking if your full dental benefit has been used up for the year-- and schedule one quadrant of fillings at a time (3-4 at a time)-- which means some small cavities get priority over deeper ones depending on location as far as I can see. On the one hand, I feel like over filling was going on-- and on the other hand, I had that one tooth that should have been filled earlier (after I'd gotten multiple fillings within a single year!). Before going to this office, I never had more than 2 fillings in a single sitting. Here, it seems that quantity is a thing. I do think he is genuinely trying to keep up a good reputation and do good work-- and when I did have an issue with the tooth gap he did the right thing and fixed it for free. But I can't shake the feeling that sometimes profit seemed more of a motive than what was best for the patient. I didn't always feel I got a good breakdown of what I needed and why-- I was just told:you need this. I like it when my doctors, mechanics, and dentists treat me as someone who is intelligent, and who can understand ambiguity in decision making-- and who explain the pro's and con's and options to me-- but I never felt like that was the vibe I got from this place. Of course they solicit feedback-- but I never felt like I got thorough answers. I fear I got some fillings I really didn't need-- and missed a filling that should have come much sooner.
