The facility is clean and spacious but the manager June is a battleaxe who seemed to disapprove of my friends tattoo's abd her 3 yr old daughter. She told us to shut up during the paperwork and if it wasnt for pure exhaustion after a day of moving I would have found another storage company. I also donated a bed to a gentleman renting a unit in the same property. I left it by his truck to transport and she tried to charge me an abandonment charge because it was outside for a few hours. Moved my items to another unit the following month. Cant support bullying and that is what she does to her customer's and her poor intimidated staff. read more

By far the worst most unprofessional company I have ever done business with. Site management(especially June) at this location is extremely unprofessional, the call center reps are friendly but not much help any issues you may have need to be forwarded to the district manager Frank M who is supposed to call back within 24hrs. It's been 2 weeks, I have called everyday and still no call back from frank. I was looking for a place to store my stuff for a year but I'm now moving my stuff somewhere else and they lost my business forever. Besides knowing that my belongings are safe, with surveillance cameras, the staff there has always been so friendly. June was friendly and helpful every step of the way. The location has exceptional security, with cameras throughout and a pin code that sets and disarms an alarm on your personal space. Every part of the location and 3rd floor is immaculately maintained, organized, and clean. I read the other reviews. Yes, the location is adjacent to a bird sanctuary. I saw no birds and absolutely no evidence of bird droppings anywhere. I'm glad to know that June is aware of federal regulations that protect native migratory birds. I did the research. read more

FIVE STARS for GREAT SERVICE, CLEAN UNITS AND TOP SECURITY WITH A FAMILY FEEL "June" is a really good person. She lives on location at the Extra Space Storage facility in Sherman Oaks and manages the place like an experienced Captain, running a tight ship. Ultimately, this is why I went with Extra Space Storage in Sherman Oaks - it felt like I was safely storing my things in someone's home -- not with an impersonal corporation. While their prices are comparable, they do cost a bit more for spaces of similar size (about $50.00 more per month depending upon what time of year you store with them - apparently, it's cheaper in September). What I got for that extra $50 bucks was a deep sense of security (they have video cameras that actually work, personal alarms on each unit and a responsible human being living there to boot). In addition, June worked to find the best sized space for my items, in the coolest part of the building, which mattered to me because besides storing two bedrooms of furniture, I was storing paintings. She listened, heard and saw what I needed then sought it out for me at the best price possible. That is what a professional does - they do their job well in kind service to others. After viewing spaces in other buildings and meeting the managers elsewhere, even though it costs a bit more, it was a clear choice to go with Extra Space Storage. I highly recommend the facility in Sherman Oaks on Sepulveda Blvd. because of June. She is very knowledgeable about moving, storage and life. This, plus her caring nature, smart suggestions (such as, "take this space over that space because its safer/cooler for these reasons"), and gentle guidance ("here's a chair, go sit outside the storage unit so you can see where the movers put your stuff - pull stuff out that you want to go in front") gave me peace of mind. We are very happy that we chose Extra Space Storage in Sepulveda Blvd. Everything is very clean and well-taken cared for. You will not see any trash in the hallways. We used to have public storage before but Extra space is waaaay much better. The management staff (Greg and Mark) is great and go the extra mile to make sure the storage is clean and the locks are safe coz they were actually checking each storage locks when we were first checking out the available spaces. The place is about ok. Prices are expensive. Make sure to choose a unit close to the sun light or you would not find anything inside your unit because you are unable to see. They made small units along the hallway that limit your accessibility so make sure to have enough money to pay for the outside units. Limited employees if you ever call there is no body to answer your calls so they always return your calls when you are not available to take them. read more

Long story short, this location auctioned off our storage unit due to human error on their part. They never input our payment info in their system which resulted in a lien and was sold off. Read below for full story. We have been a loyal customer with Extra Space Storage for close to 5 years. At one point, we had three storage units at once. When we were moving up north and condensing all our items in one storage unit, the front office told us that they would switch over our account to the new, smaller unit and we signed a storage rental agreement. We asked if our credit card on file would be charged and they responded with yes and took the info down. That they would switch over all our payment info to the new contract. We noticed after two months that our credit card was not being charged. Gentleman (Michael?) said our storage was not in the system and could not take our credit card information over the phone. He stated that we would have to come and verify our storage unit. Much to our frustration we explained that we moved up North to the SF Bay Area and would not be in town until the following month. He told us that it would be fine and that we would be able to verify our storage unit when we were down and also apologized for the inconvenience. When we went down, we decided to call to make sure that Michael (?) would be in, but the Facilities Manager, June, said that she remembers Michael (?) having that conversation with us and told him after the call that our storage unit had been auctioned off for non-payment of $300. No one called us to inform us even after she said this conversation had taken place. They said a notification was sent to our address on our account. When we asked her to repeat the address back to us it was not our most recent address that we had on file for the past three years but an old address from four years ago. June said that a check for $1,200 should have been sent out to the old address but her system did not show that it was sent out or returned. This is major mismanagement on Extra Space Storage as we had collectible, one of a kind items in this storage unit. We are NOW seeing one of our prized possession we had manufactured and designed overseas being sold on eBay! We are eager to get our items back. No money could replace these "stolen" items. We have been loyal customers for over five years! Extra Space Storage has not returned our calls or emails as they promised and we are just about our wits end. read more

Such a stupid facility. The manager leaves at 6 yet the facility closes at 7, meaning you can't get a cart if you come at 6 you can't ask any questions or get help and here is the kicker to this already awful place. If you don't leave by 7 you are stuck inside with no way out... did I mention the manager left an hour ago. I rented a 10x20 for about 3 years. Its a good location (101 & 405), clean, secure and I've pretty much had polite professional dealings with June and Larry. As for Extra Space Storage rates, I can confirm that your rates will increase like clockwork every 10 months (have the email receipts) by 8-14%...until you decide its too much. read more

I've dealt with several storage companies in the past, in California, Arizona and Nevada and let me tell you, this location is by far the best I've dealt with. I've been storing items at this location for about 15 years now and it has always been maintained properly, cleaned and have never had any major issues. June is the manager and she is great. Any time I have ever needed anything, she has always been there and has never failed to return a call if she's been busy tending to other tenants. I wish all storage places had a manager like June. Felt safe because at first the thought of Sepulveda scared me but this place is clean professional and secured. Word of advice, if a store company asks you what are you storing and ask ..are you storing t.v.'s etc, don't answer that just say " nothing flammable and thats all you need to know.
