Everything was spectacular to the food, atmosphere and service! My wife and I had an early lunch, basically beer battered halibut fish and chips. The taster melts in your mouth. We both chose the smaller portions and are very happy we did --. Very filling!

Cozy dive in downtown Anchorage. Drinks looked pretty average. The food was really amazing - surprising for a dive bar! French Onion Soup ($8) - This was really incredible. Deep, rich broth with plenty of caramelized onions and gooey cheese. The Calamari ($18) was wonderfully crispy and awesome. Staff were cool. There's a block of cheese on the bar you can slice and eat.

Limited seating, so it can be a challenge to get a big group in here. Highly recommend the halibut and chips, as well as the fried oysters. Fried oysters were very meaty and flavorful. Halibut was perfectly fried.

Food was so top notch versus my expectations. Get the halibut n chips! Clams equals yum. You hafta wait n fight for a seat here for a reason. Very busy yet fully taken care of and welcomed. Semi awkward waiting for a seat but also part of the character of this bar. Plenty of friendly locals and visitors chatting it up with me as I sat alone. Walked outa there stuffed n happy at 11 pm and it still looked like 4pm outside. Never forget experience fo me.

Pretty cool place! First time in Alaska! And we are here for the fun! Food was good as well, I had shrimp and fries. In the picture it was halibut. They gave me the wrong item but I should have kept the halibut. The shrimp was good but my co-workers told me that the halibut was delicious.

Halibut was fantastic, the fries were horrible. The restaurant is an old established place in Anchorage. The service was horrible. At first I thought I was at Dirty Dicks in Myrtle Beach, then I realized this person was just beyond rude to my party. Needless to say, there are plenty of other options in Anchorage... I won't be back.

Was in town for a conference from Sunday to early Friday morning. I ate at F Street Station 3 times during that visit! Had the Caesar salad with salmon my first night in town. It was great and I enjoyed every bite of it. The "show" I got to see and be part of between the salty old cook and other patrons (and myself) was part of the charm of this place! Smitty, I believe his name is, was hilarious. Came back with a friend a day or two later and had calamari and Alaskan halibut fish & chips. The Jalapeños aoili was so good I could drink it! The calamari were great! I'd seen them my first visit and they looked life changing - they didnt look as good when I got them, but they were still delicious if not a little greasy. Had the fish & chips again on my final visit. The Texas size portion is the normal portion, while the Alaska size is a large serving because, ya know, we're in Alaska where everything is bigger! I will absolutely go back if I return to Anchorage. I might even be tempted to go to Anchorage simply so I can go back to F Street!

First time trying halibut and fries and so happy that it was here!!! It was truly worth the hype, the flavor and texture of the fish were perfect. It was plentiful and very affordable! It came with fries which were perfectly brown, I loved every bite. They also have a "help yourself" block of cheese which I thought was kind of cool. Only giving this place 4 stars because the service was not good. There were 2 women working the entire restaurant which I understand may have been a lot but they were pretty short and rude when my friends and I asked questions, one of them would answer the question, not even wait for a response and walk away.. I will be back for the food, definitely not for the service.

Incredible place! This was the food highlight of our visit to Anchorage. PARKING & LOCATION // Located in downtown, parking is mostly available on the street which isn't too hard to find! AMBIANCE & SERVICE // The restaurant feels like a half restaurant and half bar. We were a party of 3 and sat at the bar since there was a decent wait. We went on a Saturday night and it was super busy! It was fun to see the food being prepared and even though we were at the bar, the service was still great. It feels like you can come here for date night, a casual night for friends, or to grab drinks and meet people. FOOD // Food was incredible! Between the 3 of us, we ordered: STEAMED CLAMS: This was the star of the night. The clams were cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious. We soaked up as much of the sauce as possible. ESCARGOT: This was really good but I'd pass on it next time. There was only 6 of them so it felt a bit steep for not much protein. Still garlicky, cheesy, and buttery though. CALAMARI: The portion is large! Great to sharing and delicious. OYSTERS: Yummy oysters but nothing that stood out! Still enjoyed them but nothing stood out. OVERALL // 5 stars Truly the best food we had on the whole trip! Will be thinking about those clams for awhile.

Delicious food, but very busy, understaffed bar. We came on a Thursday night and upon entering, the servers were found running around and helping others. We were not greeted and there was no wait list to sign up for. I had to ask a waitress after a while how to even get a seat, to which she said "just grab an open seat when it's available." The poor service was frustrating, but understandable given how understaffed the restaurant was. Now onto the food - I ordered the salmon salad, soup of the day, and halibut and chips. The salmon is freshly caught, Alaskan salmon and it was market price. For $35, price is steep but the flavor was delicious. The salmon is definitely one of the freshest I've had, and the grilled salmon was seasoned very well. I generally don't care for seafood but this dish impressed me. The soup was alright- it was salmon with bacon and corn and the salty bacon overpowered the flavor of the whole soup. Wouldn't order that again. Lastly, the halibut and chips were good but price also was steep. Halibut had good flavor and the batter was good too. Chips were also fried well! Definitely would recommend.

This local restaurant opens at 10am for drinks but starts food service at 11am. The local vibe is very chill and our waitress was very friendly. It was recommended to get the halibut sandwich. It was amazing and cooked well. It did not disappoint at all. Great for sharing. Oysters were the freshest I have ever had and smooth.

1 star (0 if possible)…read more My family is from Alaska, and this was our first time trying this restaurant while celebrating my brother's college graduation. Unfortunately, the experience was so rude and disorganized that we ended up leaving before ever getting to eat. When we arrived, we were greeted by a man in a black shirt who was immediately rude and kept interrupting my mom while she was trying to ask about a table for five. We were told there would be a wait, which was fine, but from that point on the service only got worse. We sat waiting for about 20 to 30 minutes and were never given menus or any updates, while other parties around us who were also waiting were being helped, given drinks, given menus, and kept informed about their table times. While we were waiting, we overheard what I assume was a manager, a man in a maroon shirt with tattoos, updating another party about their reservation. He told them that their reservation had been messed up: instead of having one table for six as requested, the restaurant had them down for a table for four and a separate table for two. If they wanted to actually be seated together at a table for six, they would have to wait another hour, plus an additional 40 minutes for food. Hearing that made it pretty clear that the lack of organization and communication wasn't just happening to us. After we had already been waiting, the man in the black shirt finally came back over. Instead of seating us, he told us it would actually be another 45 minutes to an hour before we would even be seated and receive food. I asked if that included the time we had already spent waiting, and he responded to me in a very dismissive and demeaning way, saying that we would not even be seated for another 45 minutes. At that point, my mom and stepdad decided we should just go somewhere else. My mom asked if the drinks could be comped given the poor communication and how the situation had been handled. His response was basically, "You'll have to take it up with them," referring to the bar. When I asked if the bar was a separate business, he ignored the question and walked away. My stepdad then had to go up to the bar and pay for four drinks, which took another 10 minutes despite there being two bartenders and very few people waiting. I can't review the food because we never got the chance to try it. We came in hoping to have a nice dinner to celebrate a college graduation, and instead we got rude service, poor communication, and a complete waste of time. We would have gladly come back another day if the staff had simply been honest, respectful, and organized from the start, but after this experience, we won't be returning.

My gf is vegan and we were looking for somewhere that could accommodate her dietary needs and found 49th State Brewing. She got the Vegan Buddha Bowl, I got the Mt. Knowledgeable about the menu, quick to give me his opinion when I asked for it (without me feeling like I'm being upsold) attentive to our needs and patient while we made our decisions. The man excels in communication and hospitality. I don't know what you're paying him but he deserves more.
