Full disclosure: I drove from LA to go to Cupids cuz I saw them on IG but we pulled up and saw they didn't seem to know how to wear masks on their faces 2 years into a pandemic so f that noise. We did a quick google search cuz a girl gets hungry after all that traffic and we found FAB. Let me tell you, not only do they know how to wear masks but they make really good hotdogs and tots! They gave us some kind of sriracha ranch with the sweet potato fries and it was really good. The elote dog had A LOT of elote and it had a nice lil kick to it. We went back in cuz I always act like I am just going to have a bite of whatever my bf has but then I give in and want something else ( that man humors me to no end). I was just robbed $15 by this place I used to like this spot but the little girl at the counter has a major attitude that makes you wonder if you should even eat there or not. I ordered takeout and was there within 10 minutes. My food was cold so I asked if they could give me a fresh french fries, since they bag the food, and just leave it there under no type of heat. she told me no, and refused to do anything about it and then noticed a burger was ice cold as well which they refused to remake. I was starving so I took the order and left but I don't know circumstance should a customer have to eat cold food. The place looks like it's falling apart. LA Street Dog was super YUMMY! I haven't stopped in this place in years, nothing has changed the food and service was perfect.

Wife and I stopped by there this past weekend, we were greeted by a friendly young lady (Lauren) she was kind, courteous and very knowledgeable of their menu. The food is great. They owner guy really upset me. I order two burgers fries and a hotdog. Then I can back and ordered a corn on the kob- which takes for ever by the way! Twenty minutes ugh! He forgot to tell me that my previous order will be done sooner than the corn and it will get COLD! My husband wanted some minis peppers. They said .38¢ no worries. So I added it to the tip to .50¢ That wasn't enough. Lol they wanted cold hard cash for that! Which I have them a dollar and said keep the cents you could use it :) I'm totally fine with paying for extra things that I want but what's wrong with me adding it for the tip section. I have to be very careful (never gave a 5 for hot dogs) about this rating as maybe it's a 4.5 but I rounded it up because Joe the owner really cares about his hot dogs (don't you?). You see while I was looking at the menu, Joe was mincing onions and then proceeded to shred carrots using a grater to make the dressing for his slaw dog. This already told me a lot - fresh ingredients and made from scratch. I devoured the 'Bald Eagle' which is a 'ripper' with home made mustard relish sauce. The ripper is a deep fried (authentic transplant from NJ like Joe) hot dog imported from NJ as they manufacture specific frying dogs. Deep frying dogs have a different meat composition and casing so they split (rip) rather than tear. I was surpised as it was totally light and not greasy at all. The casing became a dry salty wrapping around an almost fluffy light hot dog. I would not put too much (like chili) on this dog so you can enjoy the essence of the ripper. Got to try one of these if you love hot dogs. The Coney Island Dog was one of the best chili cheese dogs I've had! I don't normally like cheese on my chili dog, but he hand shreds this sharp cheddar from a block and it makes a world of difference. The chili is homemade and not your nasty type (I like nasty too), but more sublime as to not overpower the balance of ingredients. Crispy casing, juicy, steamed bun, and perfectly balanced. Joe told me he likes to eat simple dogs - so I asked him to hook me up. He made me a steamed natural casing beef, sauerkraut, with Guldens mustard. Delicious! The sauerkraut was crisp, light in smell and flavor, and most importantly not wet. This is a very unassuming small place so I would recommend trying to beat the prime time lunch or dinner times if you want a seat. It was 60 miles round trip for me and totally worth my time and gas (not that kind - u know for the car). I am a fan and will be back here whenever I need a good hot dog fix. ***I am not a big hot dog fan so I am not sure how much I could like this place; I thought the Bald Eagle Ripper was pretty decent, but I still prefer Dodger Stadium, Wrigley Field or even Pasadena's Slaw Dogs for hot dogs*** Fab Hot Dogs was featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives so I decided to check it out since I was in the area. I think they have moved locations so this store was a little different than what was featured on TV. The decor is pretty straightforward and functional. There are a decent number of tables, but it might be hard to find a seat when the place gets busy. If you go right when they open at 11am, it is very easy to find a table. Fab Hot Dogs' menu features all kind of specialty hot dogs from coney dogs to LA Street Dogs and Chicago Dogs. I think you can also do build-your-own hot dogs here as well as burgers. For sides, they feature traditional stuff like french fries and tater tots. I started with their Bald Eagle Ripper, which I believe was a deep fried hot dog. The hot dog was good. I am not a big fan of the flavor of a hot dog, but the flavor of the all-beef hot dog here was consistent with what you would find at other respected hot dog spots. It was juicy and I liked the snap of the casing. The Bald Eagle sauce was good. It was a tangy and tart mustard relish. It provided a good flavor for the hot dog. The bun was a standard and soft hot dog bun. I ate the LA Street Dog next, which may have biased my opinion towards it. I can usually eat one hot dog, but I tend to feel a little gross after trying to finish another one. The LA Street Dog here was a bacon wrapped hot dog that was garnished with mustard, mayo, ketchup, grilled onions, grilled peppers, jalapenos, and fresh tomatoes. The LA Street Dog tasted very similar to the LA Street Dog that I had at one of LA's gourmet food trucks. It was okay but not my favorite. The bacon was crispy. I wish the hot dog was spicier though. I also had the chili cheese tots. The tater tots were your standard tater tots; I think they should have been hotter and crispier though. The chili was your run-of-the-mill chili (same could be said for the melted cheese sauce; you can also do shredded cheese here). The onions were sharp. It was not my favorite side and it felt like something you could find at any hot dog or fast food spot (different from the Bald Eagle Ripper, which I felt was much more distinct). Service was friendly and quick. Prices were good. You can get out of here with a filling meal for under $10. Because I hardly ever get an urge for hot dogs, I am probably not the best judge of a place like Fab Hot Dogs. I did feel though that I enjoyed the hot dogs more at Dodger Stadium, Wrigley Field and Pasadena's Slaw Dogs. I tend to like sausages more so I would suggest seeking out one of the Wurstkuche locations (Downtown LA or Venice) over Fab Hot Dogs. Did I know this place was on Guy's show on the food network? No. I love the food network. I don't love Guy. Did that negatively slant my view of Fab's, absolutely not. This place was very good. I felt super cool because I came here with Bill C. Since he's such a regular the staff knew him by name and everything. Oh yeah, I'm here with Bill! whaat!? :D Trying to keep my calories at a semi reasonable level I decided to pass on the ripper (deep fried) and on anything wrapped in bacon. But I still didn't want to go for something too basic as they are clearly well known for their specialty dogs. This is how I settled on the Carolina Slaw dog. Grilled hot dog topped with onions, chili and slaw. Our dogs were up within 5 minutes and we were lucky enough to score a table in the back (the place was about 70% full). My first thought was that the bun was extremely soft. Really, really soft. I didn't even know hot dog buns came this soft. ever. My second thought was that the dog was super snappy. I mean I could literally, seriously, hear the dog pop with every bite. It was very juicy on the inside. Hot and delicious wiener! Yum. My third thought was that the slaw was very bland. In fact, except for the cool factor it wasn't adding much to the flavor of my dog. So I scraped that off. Then it was just a chili onion dog. Very good. I will admit that I left about half of my bun on the plate and just ate the dog with a fork. I have to watch this hot figure, ya' know!? But it was still very yummy. Even though I didn't partake of the tots I think it's super cool that they offer them. A fun break from fries or rings. I can totally see why this place is popular. BREAKING NEWS It's official Fab Hot Dogs is up and running at their new location on Victory Blvd, They opened at 11:00 am this morning, and I was the first customer, arriving and camping out in front of their door at 10:54 a.m. After a grueling 6 minutes holding my place in line Joe (the owner) opened the door at 11:00 am sharp, and I was customer number 1.* Well, the food is the same, in other words awesome. In the past I told Joe that there was no way to improve on their Texas Burrito Dog, and they didn't improve on it. Yet it was still awesome. What they did improve on was the building. Gone is the 9 seat, claustrophobia inducing room that caused people to line up out the door, or worse yet--drive by without stopping. Now Fab has about 50 seats, two cash registers, a flat-screen showing ESPN News, and best of all acres and acres of free parking. The menu is a bit larger now. Things like the Breakfast Dog, Spicy Redneck Dog, Gorgonzola Burger, Lincoln Log Dog and a couple of others are now added to the menu, and starting tomorrow, Ice Cream Milkshakes. If you have avoiding Fab Hot Dogs because of the crowds, give them another try, you will be pleased. * They brought the same cash register from the other place so my receipt said I was customer number 89-hundred something, booooooooooooooooooooo. I knew they were famous for the NJ style "ripper" - a deep fried hot dog - but I decided to go for a steamed dog (okay, so I ordered the wrong thing). Most of the specialty dogs sounded too heavy (topped with bacon, chili, guacamole, pastrami, etc.). If you're really feeling indulgent, they have double dogs too. I chose the Fab Dog: grilled onions, roasted peppers, a thick tomato sauce and spicy horseradish mustard over a steamed all beef natural casing hot dog ($3.10). I like grilled onions, roasted peppers and spicy mustard but the sour tomato sauce ruined the entire hot dog for me. The dog itself was thin and juicy with great snap. The bun was steamed and soft - just a standard bun. Their crunchy, hot tater tots were good though not astounding. I think the grease and oil were starting to hurt my stomach at that point though. I couldn't finish my tater tots ($1.50 gets you a big heaping basket full of homemade tots). Next time I'm going to build my own dog. They have several types of hot dogs to start with: steamed all beef, grilled beef, ripper (fried), Polish sausage, Polish firecracker, turkey dog, or veggie dog, lots of free toppings (e.g., grilled onions, relish, dill pickles, jalapenos) and then fancier toppings (35 cents to 95 cents each) like bacon, cole slaw, salsa, cheese, etc. The basic dogs are $2.75. The place has old fashioned charm with mustard and ketchup colored walls, old fashioned hot dog signs, an open kitchen and plenty of regulars. The service is very friendly. This is going to be short and simple. For all the fab talk about this fab place, I found it to be unfabulous! Just to let everyone know I did not know this junction was popular due to " Guy's Diner and Drive Ins' segment. I honestly thought just word of mouth made the popularity. I found out about Guy after my dog was half-wayed finished. I was merrily excited. I'm not a super huge hot dog fan but when I'm in the mood for some delicious hot dogs, they better be G R E A T. Menu was small and letter fonts were extra tiny. I felt as though the board was my windows desktop and I was searching for the ZOOM sector. After a few squints I made my decision. I was getting the Kansas City Dog Ya'll!! Awh yea..., nothing like some BBQ Saucin, Grilled Onions, and Cheddar cheesin dog! It's now wait time... as I await my number to be called out. I hear it! YES! Finally! Come here doggy..... WTF is this!? This dog looked full yet... sad. I expected a much better looking presentation of my food. My expectations were a bit higher than what I had expected. Then I thought... well looks can be deceiving right? One bite and I knew my Kansas dog was in fact a weenie. It deceived me into high hopes. The meat was just not soft or chewy, the dog literally almost crunched in my mouth. The onions were a bit cold and whats worst of all?? The cheese was super cold and rough! I do have to agree with another reviewer! This place is so hard to find! But.... after my GPS threw me another curve ball and made it sound as if it was just around the corner... SEES candy nearby... told me they moved and directed me straight to them in the Lohemans center. After driving around for 20 minutes trying to find them, I am really expecting something special... I do have to say that the menu rocked. They even had a monte cristo hot dog! But I settled on just a Fab Dog thinking it was just mustard and maybe a little relish and onions. I have to say I think the hotdog (meat) it's self was good & I loved that they grill the buns. I opted for something less messy but when I received it, I knew it was definitley not a "to go" item. I had to sit there to eat it. There was a *HOT *relish on just the regular fab dog which I could have lived without... not awful, and I am sure some people like my husband for instance, might love it but lets just say I didn't and I wish they had told me about the relish being pretty darn HOT. I missed that ingredient on the menu board when I ordered it I guess thinking spicy meant with a little kick but it was SPICY. Last Monday night was not that busy and several people were standing around waiting for me to order. Sorry but there was a lot to read and I had to stand there and read it.... (A few hand held menus might be an idea... if they don't want customers to stand there for too long. But I may have missed them) There was no one behind me or I would have let them go ahead of me. The guy at the register seemed a little impatient. But the girl who gave me my order was very sweet and nice and made up for the impatient guys. I walked out of there paying almost $7 for their Fab Dog and a diet soda. I thought you had no choice of drink sizes but I guess I missed that. I ordered a drink and they handed me a cup. I guess they could have asked me what size so I didn't think I had a choice but I guess you do. Thirty minutes later, I stopped at a Costco I was going to stop at anyway and kicked myself thinking... why didn't I just stick to the best tasting hotdog and price that can't be beat?! The good old Costco dog for $1.50 + tax is still my fav! But I still give them 4 stars for really doing a lot right. Though I did see a lot of employees there on a Monday night and must say that was the reason our Cupids didn't work. We had WAY too high of an overhead. Do you really need 7 (at least that's how many I thought I counted) employees to make hotdogs on a Monday night? One hint for them.... promote the girl to the cash register and let HER take the orders! I am sure I would have had great customer service from the start! It wa a bit too stuffed and the goodies were hard to handle....BUT! the soft poppyseed bun was BOMB! the toppings were great. All around, an amazing dog! HOLY SHIT. I didn't used to eat meat, so yeah I was dumb (no offense veggies!). One fine 4th of July day I happened to be in Philly @ a Phillie's game amongst DOLLAR DOGS, and people eating dollar dogs, and me drinking beer and then smelling the dogs and WANTING the dogs. I dunno, there is something about these wieners that has always lured me to them. Like, "I don't know what is in you Mr. Hot Dog, or why you are even called a DOG, but you smell salty and delicious and I want to put you in my mouth anyways!" So, needless to say, the wiener turned me. And the rest is history... This hole-in-the wall wienery is a like a little hot dog theme park in Reseda. If I didn't have very good friends who lived there, I would probably never go. But this place is reason enough just to brave even the fiery temperatures of HELL, aka THE VALLEY. I suggest the: TEXAS BURRITO DOG. If this is not a masterpiece of a burrito/hot dog combo, then I don't know what is. TWO dogs, chilli, bacon, cheese, and crushed fritos. YES, there is a God. Considering Fab Hot Dogs is one of the most famous eateries in my part of the valley, it took me way too long to get there. This is especially true because despite its far-reaching reputation, the place feels like a cozy neighborhood hot dog joint, one that would attract a strong following of local regulars. The place is cute and welcoming, with friendly service and an open kitchen. It's very casual - you order and pay at a register, then sit at the counter or at one of the many tables. You can also take your dogs to go. The menu is large and tempting, and Michael K. and I made a small dent by sharing three scrumptious hot dogs. We made one a meal deal, adding tater tots and a Diet Coke for an extra $2.75. It was money well spent. Those tots are the best I've ever had, beautifully seasoned with crispy outsides and fluffy insides, with not a trace of excess grease. But Fab Hot Dogs isn't known for potatoes, and the hot dogs are worthy of all the acclaim. The wieners are good quality with an excellent snap, and they're served with delightful toppings on soft hot dog buns that hold up well to all the weight. We tried the LA Street Dog, the Bald Eagle Ripper, and the Carolina Slaw Dog, and all three were delicious. Surprisingly, the LA Street Dog was my least favorite. This was not because it wasn't tasty - it was. The bacon-wrapped all-beef dog came topped with jalapeños, tomato, and a heap of grilled peppers and onions, along with a plentiful application of mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise. There was a little too much mayo for my taste, but the vegetables were fantastic. I don't actually love real LA street dogs. They reek of grease and I can only handle them when I'm very intoxicated. Fab's was a pleasant subdued interpretation, without the fumes of dirty fat. For whatever reason, the bacon was not very prominent. Make of that what you will. The other two were phenomenal. The Bald Eagle Ripper was the simplest, a ripper topped with a house made spicy mustard relish. I'd never had a ripper before - it's apparently a deep fried wiener. I was expecting something with a little crunch or a jerky-like toughness to the skin, but it was actually softer than the other wieners. I wonder if that's how it's supposed to be. Either way, it was tasty, and the zesty mustard relish was awesome. The Carolina Slaw Dog was a steamed all-beef dog topped with chili, cole slaw, and mustard, and it might have been my favorite of the bunch. The chili was deeply flavorful and it was complemented by the fresh tang of the cole slaw. I wanted to keep eating this hot dog, but it disappeared, tragically and before its time. If you're inclined to competitive eating, incidentally, Fab will post your picture on its wall if you can eat more hot dogs in a limited time than the reigning champion. You get to choose the one topping you must eat with your dogs, and I'd like to point out that the reigning champion's choice, of which he downed 10 1/2, was a hot dog with cheese. That's showboating right there. There's also a wall of people who have sampled the entire menu at Fab, three of whom are huge men, and one of whom is a skinny woman. While I don't aspire to get my picture on the wall with those few and proud, I salute them. The whole menu sounds pretty delicious, but I already have some favorites. This past weekend was my third time coming to Fab Hot Dogs. Ever since we saw the establishment on Triple D, it has become one of our family favorite hot dog restaurants. We ordered two foot longs, two regulars, garlic fries and garlic tots for about $45. I shared a Philly Cheesesteak foot long with my dad and it was just the right amount for both of us! Ample amount of veggies and ooey gooey cheese!! The garlic tots were a little salty but had a nice crispy crunch to them. If you love love love garlic as much as I do, get the garlic tots and fries instead of the regular! Bf and I braved through 101 traffic to get to the shopping center that housed Vons. We ordered a burrito and a hot dog. We learned of the Fab Hot Dogs through Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. The hot dog was gloriously dressed with jalapenos, onions, bell peppers and more. The wiener was wrapped with bacon, but it was dry. Slow down while heading through Reseda along Tampa Blvd, or you just might miss the new hot dog locale Fabs that has been burning up the boards with talk of some snappy dogs, and dare I say, a fried dog called "the ripper." No it has nothing to do with the serial killer who terrified London, but is actually a regional specialty of New Jersey that has made its way west. A ripper simply explained is a hot dog deep fried in oil until the casing tears or "rips." It is then either served in a steamed bun plain or with a slathering of mustard relish. This explosive frank was made famous by Rutt's Hut in Clifton, NJ during the 1920s. Now thanks to owner Joe and Fab's, you to can live like someone from Jersey without the cross-country trip. The place is small with only two teeny tables and a couple of stools. When you walk in the owner himself will most likely be the one taking your order, and you'll even get to watch him cook it up before your very eyes since you're practically already standing in the kitchen. The menu board on the wall has much more then just a single dog. Along with their specialty they have a list of other eye opening concoctions that are also notable in their own areas. There is the "Carolina Slaw Dog" and the "Kansas City Dog" that uses BBQ sauce. He has even found inspiration straight from LA itself with the "LA Street Dog" with bacon, and his version of the Oki-Dog called the "Fairfax Burrito Dog." With these choices and more (he even has burgers) I decided to keep it simple. I ordered "the bald eagle," a ripper with the relish mix, along with the tater tots. How can you pass up tots? I took a seat and watched as Joe strolled about his kitchen cooking up what I wanted. I actually started to feel like I was sitting in someone's house watching them make dinner. He picked up a hot dog and dropped it in the oil, then took a step over to coat the tots before dropping them in their own vat. There were even times when he would pause and we would start chatting. Mostly about how I'd never heard of a ripper before, and how I'd heard great things about this place prior to visiting. Minutes passed and I was handed my order with a chilling bottle of ketchup. I had to take a moment and actually look at what I was about to eat. Not only to take a picture, but because it looked so nicely prepared. But I was ready to stop admiring and I readily took a bite. In the pillowy soft steamed bun the dog had a crisp snap and the relish a delightful tang. It was surprisingly not as greasy as I thought it would be. This hot dog was like nothing I had ever had before, and I loved it. As for the tater tots? I made the right choice. They were a potato trip down memory lane. I already have plans on going back. Not only to try something new I'm sure will be great, but to take a seat in my pal Joe's kitchen and say "hello." read more

Always great!!! Last time was the first time I ordered a burger instead of a hot dog. OMG! Delicious burger that tasted like something from a backyard BBQ, with cheddar and onions and chili and jalapenos. It was absolutely perfect. Why bother going to the majors? Okay. I'll admit i'm not a hot dog lover (i haven't eaten one in over 10 years to be exact...), however my boyfriend is and he was equally as unimpressed with this place as i was. Not that we were disappointed or anything, but after all of the hype we were expecting to be "impressed". He dragged me here the other day for lunch because he's been wanting to try it for foreverrrrr and i finally agreed to go with him. I was kind of hoping that they would have more sausage options other than just a typical polish sausage that tastes like the ones you can get from the market, but they didn't. :[ My boyfriend got the LA Street Dog which is a bacon wrapped all-beef dog w/ grilled onions & bell peppers, diced tomato, jalapeños, mustard, mayo & ketchup. He said it was "pretty alright" , but i could tell by his face/(lack of)enthusiasm that he was really disappointed. As for me, i got the polish sausage with sauerkraut, grilled onions, and mustard. While i personally wasn't impressed, i will admit that it was all pretty high quality stuff...i mean, as high as it can be for a sausage at least, haha. At least the perfectly fried, not greasy, delicious tater tots cheered us up :) Mmm, i would come back solely for those babies. If you're really into hot dogs, i'd definitely suggest giving it a shot. You're bound to find something you like. Just keep in mind, a hot dog is a hot dog. It's really all about the toppings, and Fab's definitely has some good ones to offer. I've always been a fan of Fab's. Especially since day one in their old location and speaking to Jay on the talk threads of Yelp back in day. I love the fact the dogs have a snap to them and the beef, spices, and overall quality of dog is just superior to what you'll find at a lot of places. I also love their tots, swimming in chili and cheese. If you've been stuck under a rock, or just haven't had a chance to come here yet, be sure you change that and go now. Don't let the location fool you, Fab Hot Dog is fab and is definitely worth a visit. If you're never been here before I suggest looking at the online menu before hand. This is because of the layout of the front counter. As soon as you walk in you're at the ordering counter and you don't want to be the people holding up the line. Chili Dog ~ (4 Fabs) good hot dog with snap and an excellent chili Steak Burger ~ (4 Fabs) perfectly cooked, high quality beef, a little expensive without fries but still really good. Tater Tots ~ (4.5 Fabs) perfect amount of crunch, the ranch was delicious. Fab Hot Dogs has a vast menu served by a friendly staff. Seating is a bit limited and I'm not a huge fan of the strip mall but the food really overshadows those few minor flaws. Fab Hot Dogs is definitely FAB in my book. "Yah! I'm a FAB." read more

You start to look back and think to yourself, the one thing I didn't have this summer was a deep fried hot dog. Thanks to Joe Fabrocini and his wife Susie Speck Mayor (and J Gold for finding this gem) that dream was made a reality. If there was a dog town, they would be Mr and Mrs Dog Town Mayor. At Fab Hot Dogs, Joe and Susie have essentially created a one stop shop for hot dog lover transplants. The Ripper, as it was known in Jersey and now has a California home, comes topped with homemade mustard relish. It's everything I expected it to be. Simple, crunchy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside. Along with the Ripper they have a Coney Island, loaded with chili, cheddar cheese, diced onions and mustard. They even have one of the highly illegal LA Street Dogs. Your standard all-beef dog, bacon wrapped with grilled onions, bell peppers, diced tomato, Jalapeños, mustard, mayo & ketchup. They have a Manhattan Dog, a Kansas City Dog, Spicy Hatch Green Chile Dog, Carolina Slaw Dog, Ruben Dog and even a Fairfax Burrito Dog that pays homage to the gut busting Oki Dog. came to Fabs a lot when I lived in the valley and got the RIPPER everytime I came here.It's a fried dog so hot it rips in half.I always get two of these because one is never enough!The owners are very friendly and will suggest something for you if you're a noob at this place. Add some fries and a soda to the order(you might as well right?) The place is small but cozy.The neighborhood is dangerous but just eat and go,don't stick around.Fabs was on food network too so that's a plus.I'd rather come here to get my grub on than anywhere else in the valley. read more

I heard that Fab's was on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" and wanted to give it a shot. The location wasn't bad, there's a lot of parking, the staff was really friendly and helpful. The Food Fairfax Burrito: wasn't bad but i didn't find anything special about it. The burrito was pretty big, definitely couldn't eat it all by myself. Tater Tots: typical tater tots with a different kick to it. They use different seasoning instead of just salt. I didn't mind it but I didn't prefer it. Elote: "Mexican" grilled corn; I didn't try it but my boyfriend did and he enjoyed it. Overall I didn't hate fabs but I didn't love it. I'll probably only come back if I am in the area. read more

Finally got to Fab! Tiny, tiny place with about 4 tables. I'd be prepared to get your food to go. We shared an order of: -The L.A. Street Dog with its crispy bacon, ketchup, mustard, grilled peppers and onions, jalapenos, and tomatoes. It was good. -The Chicago Dog with the Ripper; it was a mess to eat! Huge pickle spear, tomato slices, neon relish, poppy seed bun. Mmmm. -Coney Dog with chili, cheese, and onions. Good flavor and consistency. -Tots! They were yummy and crispy. I have been wanting to come here for some time now but never had the chance! Finally, we were going to be going to Universal Hollywood Horror night so we figure might as well try the place out since we're in the area! Coming here, I didn't know they were featured on Food Network, so seeing the poster made me think "oooh this will be good!!" My boyfriend and I got the LA Street Dog ripper style and also the Chicago Dog with the polish firecracker! Also, after we finished, we went ahead and the got Caroline Slaw Dog! All were really good!!! I really liked the polish firecracker! It was spicy and good!!! We also got the most talked about tater tots! Yum!!! Garlic fries were pretty good too! Place is super small, so if you see a table, swipe it before someone else does! The place only has 3 tables that seats 2 people inside. But they only have 5 chairs. So I decided to try the latest hot dog sensation slaw dogs and it sucked so I decided to redeem my self by going to Fab Hot Dogs confession right afterward. How can I be so unfortunate to have 2 hot dog disappointments in one day? When the wife and I got there there was no line so we were able to stare at the menu for a few minutes with no issues. Let me say that I don't eat here every week, but I've been here about 10 times since a few months after they opened up. Heck, I found them on Yelp when they only had a dozen or less reviews, but never wrote a review for them, which if I did would have been 5 stars, but jump to today and it's a different story. I liked it when Jay was the only one in the back cooking up the dogs. There was more attention given to the dogs as the master was handling the entire process. Jump to today and post triple D fame and he has a bunch of guys in there that in my opinion just don't cut it. I have eaten about 4 times after triple D filmed and the quality has steadily gone down. Actually, there was one highlight, the chimchurri dog. that was off the hook!!! Today I ordered the "The Fab Dog" and one of the weeks specials the "Taco Dog." The wife ordered the "Bacon Cheddar Melt" and the "Philly Cheese Dog." Toss in an order of garlic fry's. The food came out with average wait. I sink my teeth into "The Fab Dog" and the first thing I notice is that the dog is cold and the bacon wrapped around it is cold. I hate cold bacon and especially a cold hot dog. What I can't figure out is how in the hell was the dog cold if they are knocking them out non-stop back there???? The "Taco Dog" was nothing to die for either and it had way too much lettuce on top of it. Dunno how that is a special of the week. Less lettuce and more pico de guilo (sp?) and some more jalapenos. I took a bite of the wife's cheddar dog and wasn't impressed by it, and she was not exactly glistening with joy while she ate it. She did like her Philly dog but again wasn't exactly raving about it. The garlic fries were alright. They weren't super crispy but they were packed with garlic punch they way I like them. I do have my positive notes that they steam the bun and the dogs they use are quality and have a nice snap to them. I just wish everything was perfect and it wasn't. Now they are moving to a bigger location and will be knocking out even more dogs. I hope that the quality of the food raises instead of going down, but I don't know if I will be getting a premium dog from any premium dog place for a while. 2 bad hot dog experiences has ruined one of my favorite junk foods for a while. Probably a good thing my heart thinks. I am giving this 2.5 stars because Yelp considers 3 stars A-Ok which this wasn't, but I can say when Jay was handling business nothing was better, so when the 2.5 stars Yelp says means "Meh. I've experienced better," the better was Fab Dog in it's prime as nothing else has excited me as much since then. read more

These burgers were very good! My husband enjoyed his Chicken Salad and the kids loved their burger and tater tots! I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and for some reason they put a bunch of guacamole! I actually hate avocados so it kinda grossed me out even though I scraped off what I could! Other than that it was good!! read more

as far as hot dogs go, I really don't think it gets any better. I will admit that i have ordered the scary street meat after a club in Hollywood and am always a little scared of what i am actually ingesting. That's why i really enjoyed this place. For a quarter less then street meat i can walk into an actual establishment and tear apart a really good dog. I ordered the LA street meat dog and was very please with my choice. I had asked for recommendations from the nice lady behind the register and she directed me to the street dog that i was eyeballing. I added the tator tots and an orange soda to wash it all down. I also got the chance to sample the fresh chili cheese fries and really liked them. However i am not sure i would want this chili on a hot dog. I think it would over power the tasty crisp hot dog. Not sure thought... i will be going back so maybe i can try it out then.... read more
