This huge restaurant sits directly on the water, and on a nice day it would be awesome to dine on the balcony. The evening we went it was very hazy, misty, and gray, but it was still a neat view. Half of the restaurant is casual, the other half is fine dining. My friend and I opted for the latter because she couldn't eat most of the stuff on the other menu. We had made reservations and were seated immediately. Service was great: hostess was friendly, and our server was attentive and sharp and sympathetic to my friend's dietary restrictions. The food did not take very long to arrive once we placed our orders. Presentation was simple, and everything was served at the proper temperature. The complimentary bread was a disappointment -- warm but chewy/stale and just not worth the calories! My friend got the Surf & Turf without the mushroom ragout. She said the steak was tender but was not impressed with the vegetable (asparagus), and remarked that the lobster was small. I was interested in all of the specials, but decided to get the Seafood Bisque and Maryland Crab Legs appetizers as my meal. The bisque was served in a huge bowl -- pretty big for a starter. It was creamy and full of chunks of crab, lobster, and shrimp. The crab legs were decent, but honestly nothing special. It all tasted fine, though, and was enough food for me that night. And I didn't get sick, which is always a plus! Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short due to personal reasons, so I didn't get to try any drinks or dessert...but I was pretty satiated when we left anyway. Water glasses stayed full and plates were promptly cleared. The prices seemed a bit steep for the quality and taste of the food, though I do feel the portions were generous. The service saved the experience, as it was above average; and we appreciated how accommodating the restaurant was for my friend. I might consider going back if the opportunity arises. read more

Used to be a great place. Food and service have really gone downhill in the last two years. Very expensive meal for it to be lukewarm and undercooked. We are switching our annual family dinner to Bluecoast. Really disappointing because this place used to be great with the sunset and music. Chilean sea bass used to be phenomenal. This last dinner it was almost inedible. Half raw, sauce was overwhelming. The rest of the food was just as disappointing. Especially for the price. Waitress also never came back so we couldn't order wine with our dinner. read more

Granted it was bikers weekend. Service was slow. I had requested a nice table for our anniversary probably got the worst table in the dining room. A 2 top against the back wall in a corner. Food was good, no question but bill was over $250. Again, no issue with the good food. Waitress probably overworked with the section. Restaurant is showing its age. Have been coming here for over 30+ years. Restaurant is in need of upgrading. Carpet awful, ladies bathroom probably not ADA. Will not return and we are full time residents. read more

Love this local place tucked away on the bay side of OC. Decided to order their French onion soup to start, which is always on the menu, and an excellent choice. Previously, I have ordered the prime rib dinner, which is fabulous, but tonight I went for something lighter - the powerhouse wrap. It's a veggie wrap with a garlic mayo that hit the spot and filled me up. I also managed to sneak a few bites of the hubby's creme brûlée... should have ordered one of my own. Definitely recommend you look this place up and find one of your new favorite places for dinner. read more

Went to the fine dining portion and the location is perfect with a great view of the bayside. Cream of crab was amazing aswell was my steak&crab. Girlfriend left her box of food and the waiter chased us down to return it. read more

One of the most beautiful locations on the island. Spacious and fun to be in, has fine dining section and bar section. We chose the bar section. The food was classy and delicious but the server Beth was rude and snappy. Next time we go we will ask for somebody else to wait on us instead of her, she's the only reason I gave this place 3 star. read more

Came back to OCMD recently and of course we went to Fagers island both nights we were there. However, they should probably state at the door that the bartenders prefer patrons to pay with cash as opposed to credit card. Multiple times we were asked for cash instead of a credit card but when told we don't have cash, they accepted the credit cards. That seems very weird to me. This happened at multiple bars throughout the establishment. read more

I've always enjoyed Fagers Island. Interesting themes throughout the entire building. Elegant, casual and great visuals. Music genres of all kinds. You can't beat it. Food is very good and served as well. read more

We came in a large group and requested outdoor seating. We were given a table indoors that they claim was outdoors. When I requested to be moved to one of the several open tables outdoors by the rest of my group the hostess told me I'd have to go back on the waiting list which made no sense as we hadn't been seated yet and we're due to sit. When I questioned it, she dismissed me outright and helped other people. My husband finally got her to give us a table outdoors. Next, Gavin the server charged us $16 for childrens chicken tenders and lied saying he thought we wanted an entree sized platter for our 5 year old so. Untrue. And when I asked if he could adjust the price he shrugged and said there was nothing he could do about it. We've been coming to fagers for years and I will never be back. It was a very unpleasant experience. It is a shame because the food is pretty good and the atmosphere is great, but the terrible service and crooked pricing is enough to send us elsewhere read more

We ate here the other night while on vacation, first time ever being here. The servers were great, very nice and welcoming. Giving food suggestions and all. The food was fine we got the salmon and sea bass and also got the clams casino as an app. My concern and reason for the 3 stars are simply because while we were sitting (outside dining) directly next to our table we're two bushes/trees and we watched mice run back and forth RIGHT NEXT TO US. We quickly asked for boxes for our meals and dessert to go because I was so uncomfortable. When the waiter came over to tell us about deserts one was right next to him and he did apologize for the ambiance of the night.. it was SO awkward and I have never experienced anything like that before. We watched several mice run from bush to bush during our short time there and it was very concerning even though we were eating outside - I work for a pest/rodent control company and there are exterior measures that should be taken for exterior dining. I know there are multiple nests there in those bushes. We will not be returning. I give 3 starts because of the atmosphere, food wasn't bad, and the wait staff was very nice. read more

Fun place to hang out by the bay! Plenty of seating and bar areas. They had live music! I ordered the crab dip. It could have had more crab meat in it but it was flavorful. The avocado chips and salsa were very fresh and flavorful! Great combination! read more

Had an incredible dinner tonight. Indoor dining upstairs overlooking the bay. Watched the sun go down. For drinks I had the Painkiller. It was great. Husband had French onion soup. For dinner filet with crab cakes and my husband had surf and turf. The food was excellent and one of the best meals we've had in quite a long time. And we eat out often. Tables were nicely spaced for social distancing and waiters all wore masks. Restaurant and restrooms were very clean. Would definitely recommend. read more

We have been coming here for 30+ years. We have never had a bad experience! The food and service are (if not) the best Ocean City has to offer. Make sure to get a table facing the sunset and then take a stroll after dinner down on the pier for some fantastic views. read more

What an awesome experience in OC during Covid! Tables were sanitized and waiters/waitresses wore masks the entire time. There was even a live dj (tonight was Tuesday for reference)! Being able to sit on the water during sunset was incredible and really added to the ambiance for our night. We ordered the salmon blt (never disappoints) and it was soooooo good! My hubby got the kitchen sink burger and he said the onions were sautéed to perfection. Our waiter gave him the option between shoestring and potato wedges for fries. I got the chips that come with each sandwich which were actually great quality kettle chips. Drinks were delicious as well. Compared to other OC spots Fager's island is consistently great with friendly waiters and high quality food. The best part? The prices were more fair than other eateries. Definitely will be back each time I visit OC! read more

Went during weeknight dinner. No wait for indoor and 20-30 minute wait for outdoor seating. It was already late so decided to do indoor. We ordered some dozen raw oysters, chicken tenders with fries, prime rib entree and Chilean sea bass entree. Oysters were so salty, I couldn't really taste the oysters and lost my appetite for it so stopped after my third one. Chicken tenders and fries we ordered for my kid and it was actually pretty good. Fries were almost McDonalds fries good. Prime rib was ok, the meat was little dry and not much flavor. Chilean sea bass was delicious! So much flavor and moist. read more

Nice spot. Friendly service and staff. Covid protocols. Starters were the shrimp. One pound with lots of cocktail sauce. Standard fare with shrimp being firm but of course smaller Entrees one was the pasta with vodka cream and shrimp and scallops. Nice creamy sauce and a few shrimp and scallops. Nice taste. Smaller portion than I would have expected for the price. e2 was the special of the day. Halibut broiled and served with roast potato and green beans. Sides of beure blanc and cream for the potato. Thankfully the sauce was on the side so it was a terrific piece of fish cooked perfectly. Flaky and fresh. I recommend this place. read more

I went here on a Friday night for dinner and was blown away by this adorable restaurant. The overall setting of the area is so cute and welcoming. The service was some of the best I ever had. Our waiter went out of his way to be helpful and was very proactive on meeting our needs. The food was so delicious and the portion sizes were great! We went during sunset which I'd definitely recommend to anyone going here soon. We got a seat near the window and the view was incredible. I like the vibe of the atmosphere. Makes you feel like you're in the high class resort in the tropical beachside. The problems with the atmosphere (at least when you are in the outdoor area) are flies and mice. The service was okay, The waiter that my cousins and I had was either a newbie or a dude that was just a bit too laid-back since he did some things that were a bit concerning especially to some of my cousins who were experienced in the restaurant business. He forgot one of our orders, served our food before our drinks, then he even mixed up our transactions. I give the benefit of the doubt that it could be because they were in a rush, but I am not necessarily sure. Either way, the food is all right. It taste good but I think the price is pretty steep. The sunset view was beautiful, but I think it is overrated since being inside the gazebo covers it up a bit. read more

Came here for lunch and ordered the Smokehouse salmon sandwich and crabcake sandwich. Both were very tasty. Fries were perfectly crispy and not oily. Order was accurate and hot. Price was a little high for off-peak season, and service was a little slow which made me wish they served bread while waiting for entrees. We chose to be seated in outdoor seating even though it was a cool windy day. We felt comfortable at our table for social distancing even though the adjacent tables were occupied. We had a beautiful view of the bay during our lunch. read more

Amazing experience, 10/10! I booked my reservation thru Resy a few weeks in advance, for their fine dining area. I looked up when the sunset would be that night and booked my reservation about 30 minutes before that. (Life hack! Lol). After being seated for a few minutes, the host actually asked us if we would move our table upstairs because a party just came in who cannot go upstairs. We had no problem doing this and the upstairs had a better view actually! Food was AMAZING. Drinks were AMAZING! Views and sunset was AMAZING! Very expensive but definitely worth it. For starters we got the mozarella + calamari. For drinks we started with the rum punch + strawtini (who eventually switched to the rum punch). For meals we had the lobster a la nage, lobster tail, steak & cake, surf & turf + Caesar salad. Total was around $400. We all left full + happy. Definitely recommend for a date night or a fancier family dinner. read more

Amazing. Hands down a must do in OC. The food... wow. So fresh and flavorful. Service, impeccable. The view, priceless. Get a reservation and don't worry. This is now my favorite. Went for lunch. Food was great sat outside on the bay and you can't beat the beautiful view. Drinks were really good too. Went back next day for fine dining dinner and they outdid themselves!!! All of our meals were delicious, but the seafood stew was the BEST I've ever had. The service was excellent and the view just made this special night so memorable. Thanks Fager's Island. read more

We wanted to go to a nice restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When we made the reservation they asked if it was a special occasion and we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary. When we were seated at a table by the window the server wished us a happy anniversary and gave us a complimentary glasses of champagne. The main dining area was well decorated in the Christmas Spirit. Lighting was just right, not too bright or dark. The fireplace was a nice touch. Sylvia greeted us promptly and cheerfully took our order. The French onion soup was hot, savory with tons of flavorful mozzarella and nice top crust. It was delicious. The New York strip was absolutely delicious with a creamy sauce. We'd definitely recommend Flager's Island for "fine " dining. read more

This spot is on point! No matter what ur looking for, you will find it here! From romantic off the water to hanging with the boys at the bar. The food was delish!! Nothing i had disappointed me. Steak, scallops, calamari, crab cakes and Desert was so good.. The staff was amazing and friendly. Our waiter Alex was outstanding! An Ocean City stable, that being said, would rate 5* in any metro location. Classic bay-front bar and expansive deck; upstairs is fine dining, linen tablecloths, silverware's and china. Established in 1975.

Opening date was June 16, 1975, a day celebrated with the cannon volleys, chimes and brass fanfare of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture--played over the house sound system at sunset. "We still do that today, and we time it to coincide with the exact setting of the sun," says Fager, noting that first-timers are startled by the sounds and often emotionally moved to tears at this seemingly miraculous phenomenon.

Meet the Business Owner: John F.

John Fager, creator of Ocean City's legendary Fager's Island, is supercharged, emanating an energy that could light up a room--or an island. A Baltimorean by birth, he has lived most of his life in Ocean City, where Fager's Island stands as a tribute to his imagination and determination in the face of multiple challenges. He spent summers in the seaside town as a child, worked there as a teen and returned after college to begin an amazing career as an entrepreneur. Back in the 1970s, it was Fager's then-revolutionary idea to build environmentally friendly condos on the bay side. "Hey, this is Ocean City--not Bay City," said the skeptics. But Fager stuck to his vision, even when a recession dried up the funds he was counting on to develop the land he purchased for development. Ever entrepreneurial, he built a bar on stilts and expanded the concept to include music, music, music.

We were set on getting the salmon and the swordfish dishes which we did, and it did not disappoint! They were the most delicious dishes I had experienced in a long time. I asked about the seasoning on the salmon and the waitress, who was fabulous, said it was Moroccan. I loved the hint of cinnamon but according to the Moroccan spice I looked at on the web, it is a combination of numerous spices which amounts to a delicious combination of flavors. Both dishes were paired perfectly with their sides and sauces. I have never left a review about a restaurant before. This will be one of my few unforgettable meals. If dining inside, bring a sweater. They don't skimp on their air-conditioning. It was a cool night so we ate outside which was nice, but what made it nicer was our wonderful waitress, Fanika(?), who had the most awesome, helpful, outgoing personality that makes a dining experience that much better. And she was right about the coconut espresso martini. It was delicious! She also mentioned that the menus are seasonal so I am looking forward to returning to Hooked when I'm back in OC and trying other meals. I'm hooked!!

The snow crab legs were good, but the shrimp were noticeably undercooked, which made peeling them nearly impossible. There were a few bright spots. The beer was reasonably priced at $4.50 a pint, and the hush puppies were excellent--arguably the best part of the entire meal. The corn, however, was tough and seemed past its prime. For the roughly $145 we spent on the combo, I expected a better overall dining experience. Sadly, this seems to be the standard at many seafood restaurants these days: higher prices without a corresponding increase in quality. And while it's a minor issue compared to the food, the deck seating chairs were surprisingly uncomfortable and felt out of place for a restaurant charging these prices. Overall, the meal wasn't terrible, but it fell well short of expectations given the cost.

They might was to remove those as they just collect dust which eventually falls/drifts down. The air vents weren't looking very good either. These really kind of affect his the place could be perceived. I'll still leave 4 stars although I almost dropped to 3. There aren't half stars to give. A little attention to the facility might leave a better impression.

As someone who has been a loyal patron of Fager's Island for over 15 years, it is unfortunate to report that the service and entire character of a once great place has diminished. Given the aggresive and even hostile attitude that I have witnessed the security staff exhibit towards their customers, I doubt that I will ever return. Here's a brief overview of the Fager's experience: The good: It has an amazing view of the bay and the deck is a great place to have a few drinks and enjoy the sunset. The OK: Casual dining is fine. It's nothing spectacular but it's not bad either. In my experience the service is highly variable ranging from friendly & competent to indifferent & slow. Occasionally, there will be rude service, but it's atypical. It's been several years since I ate in the fine dining section of Fager's so I'm not able to comment on it. The really awful: While a visible and competent security staff is important, particularly in the summer, the attitude and behavior of Fager's security is inconsistent with a hospitality business. On multiple occasions I have seen guests aggressively removed from the premises for no discernable reason. To be fair, there may have been valid reasons for ejection. However, in all of the cases I witnessed, the guest had not exhibited any behavior that warranted ejection. Regardless of the reason or lack thereof, they certainly didn't deserve to be removed in such a physical manner. The security staff does not appear to adhere to any continuum of force and immediately uses aggression and even physicality in even the most minor situations. Also, they seem to have a policy of questioning their guests prior to admittance to assess their "attitude". I doubt that any of the Fager's security staff are trained behavorial specialists and security's attitude, tone and questions are more akin to a rogue TSA checkpoint than a service-orientated business. Which brings up a final point. Fager's uses scanners to verify that a driver's license is valid, and I believe that they are storing the information from each barcode swipe. Under no circumstances should any business retain personal information such as a home address unless there is valid need. There is no reason for anyone at Fager's to know where I live which is even more important when one considers their aggresive security staff. Words are cheap. Here is a link to a youtube video showing the behavior of the security staff. Watch and decide for yourself. A few things bear mentioning. Fager's was within the rights to eject the patron. That being said, once he's out of the building the bouncer shouldn't go out of his way to attack him. In my opinion, the video is evidence of the bouncer assaulting the patron. Secondly, no private individual, even operating in a security capacity on private property, has the right to confiscate an other's property. The behavior of the second bouncer is evidence of not only assualt but attempted theft. There is absolutely no legal basis for his actions whatsoever. www.youtube.com/watch?v=heTadR-oggM Fager's Island had always been a great place that had a more mature and relaxed atmoshpere than the other Ocean City Clubs. That has changed for the worse, and the toxic attitude of the security staff makes for a very unpleasant experience. I've met the GM, Kevin Myers, on a few occasions and he is a nice guy who seems genuinely concerned about the guest experience. Hopefully this review and the other negative ones calling out the behavior of the security staff will be a catalyst for change that will return Fager's to what it once was. read more

I think the Fagers family needs to look into their security guys. Our family with 24 people went to the deck party last Monday evening we were having a nice time until my son was assaulted by the security. He was grabbed by one while paying his bar tab and taken outside and thrown to the ground. Two of them held him down with his face smashed in the ground( I have a video of this and pictures of his face after he was released). The police came and after questioning the security people and them having no reason for their actions my son and a friend of ours son who was also treated this way were released. My nephew was put in a choke hold. My daughter and my sons girlfriend were also held with their hands behind their backs and taken to the other side of the parking lot by a large security guy with a ponytail. They said they were really scared and I am thankful they weren't harmed. Who knows what could of happened where they were taken. They could of been beaten or even raped since they were away from everyone.. When we were leaving one of the bartenders asked us to please report this to the owner. He is a long time employee and said this happens all the time, something has to be done. He told us this is a new security group from Salisbury. He said it is starting to affect business because everyone is talking about it. Fagers is getting a really bad reputation all over OC. Weds evening we went to pick up our pictures that we had taken on the beach and a security guard at the mall was telling people to stay away from Fagers. He said the security is picking out people to throw out to get their jollies and stroke their goon egos. Also we were talking to a waiter at another fine restaurant and he was warning us about Fagers. I know I will never go back to Fagers and I will be telling anyone and everyone that will listen of our experience that night. Remember there were 24 of us and we spent a lot of money. Also we were their when another restaurant was having a function there. It was called Starlite or something like that. Its another place at the beach. It was the owner and all his staff at this party and their language was terrible every other word out of the owners mouth when he was passing out envelopes to his staff with money in them was F this and F that. Remember this was Monday night when Fagers was having their family deck party. There were young children there and this was not the sort of atmosphere that families expect. read more

We have stayed both in the lighthouse and the edge. We have come every summer. This summer was less than terrible. When we returned from dinner Saturday evening, our first night, we were greeted by lots of tiny black ants crawling on the sink, the glasses, and the bread that was left for our morning breakfast. It was around 11:20pm, there was no one in the office, so I used my mini pack of lysol wipes to clean the entire sink area. We also found some on the duvet cover on the bed. I left a note for the housekeeper and was told the next morning (Sunday) that they sprayed. We were not able to eat the bread and I did not feel comfortable eating the fruit, so we had to go out for breakfast. Monday morning we went out for some shopping around 8am, and I placed "service please" on the door. We returned around noon. I called 5901 and asked when housekeeping would be by. Mary told me that they don't come in until 10am and they would be there when they could, as they were having lunch. We went to the pool and returned by 1:30pm. Ants again, all over. There were chocolate covered strawberries that we had left for housekeeping to toss. They were in the fridge with a note. Upon our return, they were on the counter with lots of ants. Ants were everywhere. In the coffee and tea bags, around the sink and on the glasses. My husband went to find someone to help and I went to the Lighthouse and asked to move rooms. At first, Mary said they cleaned it up and I shouldn't leave food out, and it was fine. I said no way. I will not stay with ants, especially since they were there Saturday also. It seems as though there is an infestation of some sort. We also saw they crawling outside along the wall of the Riviera and up the stairs. We moved to the Bliss room, which was directly over the pool, which left us with little to no privacy. There was no one around when we checked out. A younger man came out of the towel room and told me to write down my name. Mary would send me a receipt. No one helped with bags. I wrote to explain this to John Fager, owner. He never returned my calls. I did receive an email in which he blamed all on "Murphy's Rule" Please do not stay here. This was our one year anniversary and although we had a great time in OC, the Edge has seen better days. read more

Hey, man! So, check it out. We were cruisin' into Ocean City and stumbled upon this place that looked hella excellent, bro. At first, we were thinkin' about catchin' the sunset, but we didn't wanna chow down too late, you know? So, we booked a reservation for 5:30, man. Downstairs, they had live music jammin', but our reservations were for upstairs, which was more like fancy schmancy fine dining, you dig? The atmosphere was outta sight, man. White tablecloths and a million-dollar view of the water. It would totally be the perfect spot to wine and dine while watchin' the sun go down, bro. And let me tell ya, the service was unreal! Our waiter was like the nicest dude ever, super knowledgeable, and he had everything under control, man. He was on it like a squirrel on trail mix, if you know what I mean. Now, the craft beer list, it had a lot of local stuff, which we love, man. But, sadly, a lot of it was subpar. Thank the beer gods for UnTappd, 'cause it saved the day. But hey, they also had this crazy extensive wine and top-shelf liquor lists, bro. So, there were options for everyone's taste. Now, listen up, 'cause this is important. It's not every day you see chicken liver on a menu, right? So, when I spotted those bacon-wrapped chicken livers on the appetizer list, it was a no-brainer, man. And let me tell ya, they were excellent! We also ordered this mozzarella app, and damn, it was outta this world! And hold up, the food, man, the food was the bomb! My wife's filet mignon was cooked to perfection, bro. And my 20oz prime ribeye? It was like one of the most succulent steaks I've ever sunk my teeth into, man. And the crab cake? Fager's Island: A Culinary Oasis by the Shore Date: Thursday, July 12 From the moment we stepped into Fager's Island, we knew we were in for a treat. Our gracious host, Frank, greeted us with a warm smile, and it felt like reuniting with an old friend. Frank is a true staple of this establishment, and his attentive service set the tone for an unforgettable evening. Our party was promptly seated at 7 p.m., thanks to the accommodating staff who adjusted our reservation on the fly. The tired toddlers in our group were grateful for the earlier dining time. As we settled in, memories flooded back--the familiar gift store, the blonde customer service rep who remembered us from previous visits, and the genuine kindness that makes Fager's feel like home. The culinary journey began with expertly crafted cocktails. I deviated from my usual Riesling and opted for the summer Manhattan bourbon special--a delightful surprise. We shared appetizers that danced on our taste buds: creamy burrata, soul-warming crab soup, and crispy panko scallops. While all were exceptional, the scallops stole the show. Frank's creativity extended to the drinks as well. My mom's "All Cracked Up" cocktail featured pepper and frozen cucumbers--a refreshing twist. The bread, different this year, still satisfied our carb cravings. For the main course, I indulged in Jim's special: Crab Towers. The sauce at the bottom elevated the dish, and the halibut, fresh and creamy, was a revelation. Dessert was a grand finale. We shared four heavenly creations: zesty lemon zest, velvety crème brûlée, decadent peanut butter cheesecake, and the sinfully rich Kahlua layer cake. Not a misstep in sight--just pure excellence. As the sun dipped below the horizon, even the cloudy day couldn't dampen our spirits. The skies opened up, revealing yet another breathtaking sunset. My girlfriend, our 2 month old baby and I came here for lunch since we were here on a small "getaway". W ae had heard about Fager's and so grabbed our GPS and quicly learned Fager's was just down the block on the same street as Sea Bay Hotel, the hotel we were staying in. We walked in thru the front door and there was no hostess it was right before 12pm but the staff immediately greeted us and was very friendly from start to finish. We order 2 bottled beers and a Maryland crab dip to start, I wanted to order Oyters from the raw bar but that didn't open until 5pm. For entrees I orderd a Kitchen Sink Burger which was humongous it came with a lot of sweet potatoes, way more food than what my stomach can handle, it also came with jalapeno on the side just like the menu specified it , it was delicious and so was the Cuban Fish Taco that my girlfriend ordered and let me try. We really enjoyed hanging out in the deck and we were not rushed out like many places do, but also it was a Monday and it wasn't to busy at lunch time. Patrons Beware: Fager's employs racists. My partner and I decided to visit Fager's for a nightcap on Labor Day but were denied entrance by a combative old security guard on a power trip. When my partner challenged the team members decision, he was directed to "go back to your country". As professionals in the hospitality industry, it is incredibly alarming and extremely disappointing that an iconic business like Fager's would employ such racist people. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE is it acceptable for a service provider to hurl such hate speech at a patron!!! As human beings, we are shocked & deeply offended by this mans behavior. My partner may be foreign born, but he is also a business owning, job creating, tax paying American Citizen. Completely UNACCEPTABLE. read more

WARNING ALL MILITARY PERSONEL and OUR SUPPORTERS. We went to Frager's with my friend a recent Iraq vet amputee and after standing in line for an hour We asked the fat guy who stands at the door (head of security) if our friend could go in the VIP line because his prosthetic leg was hurting. We told him that our friend was a Iraq Vet and he said "what do I care, It's not my war" This fat un-American bastard, who never served a day of his life defending our freedom simple told us to get back in line or leave. We left. So we ask that all soldiers and supporters boycott his place. or at least Call Kevin the GM and express how wrong this was. We think this guy gives a great place a bad name. read more

We went to Fager's twice this trip - once for fine dining and again to sit outside on the casual side. We had missed sunset the first night by a few minutes, but when we came back the Fager's team was absolutely incredible. We got to sit right on the water, food was great, my kids absolutely loved their PB and banana sandwiches, and the music/celebration at sunset! Everyone from the hostess to the gentleman who seated us to our servers was so wonderful it could not have been more perfect. And the food in fine dining is always so incredible my mom said it was the best duck she's ever had. Worth every penny. No doubt we'll be back every time we're in OC. read more

My boyfriend and I came here excited for a night out, but unfortunately, he was denied entry at the door for wearing "track pants." Honestly, we thought his outfit looked great and stylish--definitely not something we expected to be an issue. What made the situation more frustrating was that the dress code online mentioned no cut off shorts, yet we saw several people being allowed in wearing exactly that. The enforcement of the dress code seemed inconsistent and unfair. It was a disappointing experience, especially since we were looking forward to enjoying the venue. A little more clarity and consistency around the dress code would go a long way. read more

My friend was sexually assaulted at this venue. My boyfriend witnessed his best friends wife being sexually assaulted. He reported the incident to the bouncers who immediately kicked him & his whole party (wedding party) out. The bouncers took the side of the perpetrators, defending them and defaming the claims of sexual assault. The police were notified and we are doubtful that any investigation will take place despite requests to view footage from the security cameras. This establishment is without a doubt corrupt and I genuinely fear for any woman who enters the walls of this building as they are not safe. Please reconsider ever coming here!! read more

Zero stars. The bald jackass in plaid shorts on a power trip, working the front door, gave a horrible impression right from the beginning. He was yelling at everyone and being so rough for no reason. Just fyi...you're a joke, working the effing door. Then they tried to kick us out of our table early that we made a reservation for. The waitress also messed up our order and then tried to make it as if it were our fault. Very disappointing considering our family has been going here for 20 years. This place is perfect for snobs and assholes. Any club that has a dress code set up at the entrance is a club that wants to suck the fun away from your night out. They didn't want to let me bring my backpack with me, not because there was something in the backpack, but because there's a rule. A bunch of idiots making rules that have no reason to exist and then following them as the dumb sheeps they are, and not only is this kind of horrible treatment not free, you have to pay $10 to be manhandled and get into the overpriced party they're throwing. Fager's Island is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. Our server, Harold, was the highlight of the experience--funny, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He made great wine recommendations and took excellent care of us throughout the meal. The French Dip was delicious, the Ahi Tuna was perfectly prepared, and the wine selection was impressive. I wish i could give 10 stars!! We went to fagers island on a monday night to celebrate a bachelorette party. The crowd was spectacular, staff was amazing, friendly and all about making sure we had a good time!! The dj was friendly and the band was incredible! We then went back the next day for lunch and again staff was top notch and food was superb. Bartenders that worked the night before were coming into work and remembered our group and joked with us. This was our favorite O.C. restaurant during occasional visits to the area for years and, now that we live in the area, it is our go-to choice for dining during the off-season and beach season. We enjoy the view and their food, and prefer dining on the main level or deck. Fager's Island is always the destination when we have visiting guests or just want to grab a quick bowl of soup on a cold day. Highly recommend. read more

The service is impeccably awful at this place. The bouncers outside have got to be the meanest, biggest, baddest jerks on the planet. I'll never go to Fager's ever again. My friend was sexually Assaulted by a drunk male being escorted Out of the bar. Her husband defended her and the security tackled the husband rather the guy who assaulted her. After trying to tell the security what happened, I was told "back the fuck up or your next".
