Our first visit was Valentine's Day, quite busy but not slammed. In other words, there seemed to be open tables throughout our visit. We shared a creamy crab soup which was very good, with nice chunks of lump crab. I ordered a scallop entree that came with lobster risotto and arugula dressed in a lemon vinaigrette. (Both items were from the regular menu and not the special valentines menu.) My entree arrived but not my husband's (Cesar salad from the regular menu and Coquille St. Jacques app from the special menu). We started sharing my entree and were about half done by the time his food showed up. Apparently they came from two different kitchens, so the timing didn't synch up. I was pretty happy with my entree, but his were not good at all. A ginormous salad with mediocre dressing (it was missing the garlicy anchovy flavor of traditional Cesar) and the scallop app was meh. We brought home a slice of Lemon Lust cake, and it also was meh. The lemon flavor was too subtle to be meant for lemon lovers like me. Short story: Made last minute reservations for 4 on a Sunday night in the fine dining side. So glad we did! The service was great, views were amazing, and most of the food was outstanding. Get the Basil-infused Strawberry crème brûlée if they have it! Make sure to head out to the docs for sunset, the music & views are awesome. Long story: Appetizers we had weren't anything special. Calamari was a bit chewy, but the sauce was awesome. Escargot was decent but also a bit chewy. My husband got the filet, and it was served on the most delicious bed of caramelized onions on top of mashed potatoes. My daughter had the Nantucket risotto, again the seafood was just ok, but the risotto was phenomenal. There was a bed of arugula salad covering everything - If they just replaced the arugula salad on top of the dish with asparagus it would put this dish over the top! I had the Steak & Cake, and my filet sat on a huge crouton/fried bread thing that was so simple & delicious. Son had the Surf & Turf and ate every last bite. Lobster was nice and tender. We had a great evening at Fager's Island. We made reservations for the formal dining room on Tuesday evening. There is a free shuttle from the parking lot to the restaurant if you want. Once there, we were seated and greeted promptly. Order was: Chicken Liver app, Scallops, house and Caesar salad, Prime Rib, and catch of the day. Everything was fresh and delicious. So always heard good things about Fager's and since it's right near the St Patty's Day parade route, we decided to come here afterwards. Of course there was a wait, but honestly it wasn't as bad as I expected. We waited maybe 45 minutes to be seated, and in the meantime it was a lovely day so we were able to get drinks and sit on some benches outside. They were definitely prepared for the crowd. They had a bathroom attendant making sure things were running smoothly and quickly (her mantra was "flow and go" lol). They had plenty of staff working so the tables were being flipped quickly. I got the fish and chips and a dirty Elvis drink, which is a frozen peanut butter, chocolate, and banana drink. The food was great and that drink was delicious. This venue has a bar, restaurant, and even a hotel. The restaurant and bar are attached to each other, but in their own separate areas with their own menus. The venue can hold a lot of people. If you are unable to find parking close by, you will be driven by a golf cart. Fine dining is available starting at 5pm. I was seated facing the bay and was able to watch the sun lower (but not set because I didn't stay long enough). I do wish they had blinds though because I was definitely blinded as the sun lowered. I felt like Johnny Cash while I wore my sunglasses inside. My party had: - Chicken livers & water chestnuts wrapped in bacon w/ a horseradish sauce ... 3/5 ... The water chestnuts were not distributed properly and the livers were a tad dry. It wasn't greasy at all and I LOVED the sauce. - Oysters Rockefeller ... 4/5 ... Light and acidic. It needed more seasoning, but it was very fresh - The day's special (catch of the day): rockfish, sautéed spinach, sun dried tomatoes, Noilly Prat sauce, fried couscous ... 3.5/5 ... The spinach was hot, but everything else was room temperature. The fish was cooked perfectly. I liked the fried couscous. It was a large portion and unfortunately bland because it lacked seasoning - "Lemon Lust": layers of lemon filling & sweetened cream cheese with a toasted pecan cookie crust ... 3.5 ... it reminded me of lemon meringue pie. The crust was good, and the layers were smooth. It wasn't tart at all and was a bit too sweet for me, but my family liked it a lot. The experience was very nice and our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The view was beautiful and the food was alright, but I expected better due to the price. I'd like to go to the bar next time to try their less expensive options. I do recommend the fine dining menu if you want something relaxed and romantic. Wow! It was our first time in OCM - so happy we found this place! We were greeted by the golf cart service the restaurant provides - amazing! We sat at the main bar which overlooks the bay and you have a great view! Our bartenders were fantastic (Kevin?) - they made great drinks and took care of us all night. The food was very good - excellent wings! Chocolate cake was good - the lemon cake was outstanding! Would highly recommend! Unfortunately, for some reason, things have been changing there with a food preparation and the meal size. Last night I ordered stuffed shrimp, which is usually one of my favorites. For the price, the portion was very small and for the first time I really didn't enjoy the crab imperial that usually comes with it. For the positive side, I will say that the upstairs dining has one of the most beautiful views of the bay, and our waiter was very good. My husband and I, along with my sister and brother-in-law, drove two hours to Fager's Island expecting a great evening. Instead, we were turned away at the door due to a completely inconsistent and unfair application of the dress code. My husband was wearing clean sweat shorts, nothing inappropriate for a BEACH BAR. Ironically, my brother-in-law was wearing the exact same type of shorts in a different color and was let in without hesitation. Yet, a specific staff member chose to single out my husband and deny him entry. No one else at the entrance said a word, which made it clear this was not about policy, but about personal bias. We were stunned. After going through security, only to be turned away for an outfit that others were clearly allowed in with, the experience felt unwelcoming and frankly unprofessional. What's the point of the extensive security if you're going to have an issue with sweat shorts? (These were Not basketball shorts or swim trunks either) and they were dressed up and again, clean. We took our business to Seacrets, where both my husband and brother-in-law were treated with equal respect and allowed entry without issue. The atmosphere, staff, and overall experience there were far better. If Fager's Island wants to enforce a dress code, they should do so consistently, realistically (again, it's a freaking beach bar) and without bias. Based on this experience, we won't be back -- and we won't be recommending it to others either. read more

We had a large group to celebrate a birthday. The manager was very nice, and the staff provided such excellent service. The dinner specials with the fish and prime rib were a hit with the group. We brought in a cake and staff brought it out with the candles and served our group. We all were commenting what a great time was had by all. On top of the wait staff providing excellent service the bartenders had great personalities and also provided great service. We will definitely be back and would recommend. read more

Came for my Dads 95 Birthday. My sister had her wedding here and have eaten here many times.We were supposed to have a reservation for 8 people. 6 at one table and 2 at another So that we could have window view. When we got here , they seated 6 of us were told that they could could not accommodate the other 2 people unless we moved to the back of the restaurant! Unfortunately, our experience was negatively impacted by a big dark man July 26,2025 at the front of the venue at night; he identified himself as the owner, though that claim seemed questionable. He was unreasonably rude and aggressive without provocation, which made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We are professional women--who were simply trying to enjoy a night of live music. Most important word of advice: skip the crabcake sandwich. We have a local joint that brags about using authentic crab eith no fillers. They are delicious and well worth the price. My wife was craving crab and recommended fager's island. The crab cake was maybe 1/2 the size if the bun. I asked for a bite and there was soothing but bun, lettuce, and tomato. There was no crab left whatsoever which is disappointing when you're paying the premium price for crab. I will say everything else about the meal was delicious. They either need to make their crab price more reasonable, reduce the size of their buns to actually fit the crab cake, or make a bigger crab cake. That would elevate them a level on the crowded oc strip. read more

Come here for great bay views and a festive summertime vibe! The food was good too! We came here at 5pm on a Wednesday. There was plenty of room for us to sit outside on the back (yellow) deck overlooking the water. It really started to fill up about an hour after we arrived. A band was playing inside, the weather was warm and our waitress was very patient and attentive. We started with a few delicious drinks and the crab claw cocktail. I loved the Painkiller cocktail. It was very tropical in flavor . The Jalapeño Pineapple Margarita was great too! I went with the Scallops Nantucket for my entrée and it was perfect. Stopped here for dinner on a weekday night. I have been here a few times for the night life, but for the dining I was a first timer on this trip. We were sat upstairs in the indoor part overlooking the bay. We came around 7:30 and were sat immediately. I ordered a crown Manhattan which was as close to a crown Manhattan as I am to an NFL HOF QB. Yikes. It was brutally bad. So I figured this was going to be a tough go. However, things turned around quickly - receiving my cream of crab soup which was perfectly seasoned and came with crab on top. Perfect execution. We also split the fried mozzarella which was a little on the pedestrian side but again well-seasoned and tasty. And also splitting a Caesar salad which I think the whole table got a piece of. Really good. For my meal I went with the steak and cake - with a small slice of bread under the steak so the drippings didn't mingle and sog the crab cake. The entree came with vegetables and a baked potato. The potato was on the small side but the crab cake was perfect and the steak cooked properly medium. Then the music started. I nearly looked out back to see if there was a sword fight taking place - because some John Philip Sousa was blaring. I'm into it. Apparently every night they play music that the last note hits when the sun totally sets behind the horizon. Really cool. The whole table got desserts and passed them around - my main was the NY cheesecake with strawberry shmear, but also tried the Oreo cheesecake, the creme brûlée, the dreamsicle cheesecake- all were very good. My family arrived for an early dinner around 4:30 on a Sunday. We sat outside on the deck with a nice view of the bay. We ordered off the regular menu but the backside of the menu features items available after 5pm from the fine dining area. This is definitely a place where you only come for the pretty views and atmosphere because the food and drinks were very bland. We ordered the fried mozzarella as an app and chicken Caesar salad and crab cake sandwich for entrees. My bf ordered a banana daiquiri that took about 15 minutes to get to him so not sure if it was super watered down by that point or if the drinks are just weak. Maybe the fine dining side has better food but tbh I don't see us returning here unless it's to hang outside and listen to some live music. read more

The Only Review You Need To Read We had the pleasure of being treated to dinner at this restaurant two nights in a row, and overall they were both pleasurable experiences. The first night, I felt compelled to order the cream of crab soup and crab cakes as my entree (evidently crabs are a thing in Maryland). The cream of crab soup was very thick and rather on the salty side (not a problem for me, but those with high blood pressure should take heed). My only issue was it was served lukewarm when it should have been hot. But I ate it anyway. The crab cakes were very delicious. But after the soup as well as the appetizers which had been ordered for the table to share, I could only finish one crab cake. A "to go" container was in order. Here's what kept this from being a five star review. We ordered creme brûlée for dessert, and the top shell was hardly burned and not crispy at all. The taste was fine, but really lacking that crispy burnt sugar shell. No raspberry or any sort of fruit came with it, but there was this thick-as-paste whipped cream with chocolate chips on the side that was really delicious. The view in the upstairs dining area is amazing; especially at sunset where a dramatic orchestral soundtrack is provided to accompany the setting sun (don't be alarmed - this is on purpose). Beautiful view with the outside seating, though it looked like it could be on the windy side. My colleagues picked up the tab for dinner both nights and encouraged me to order whatever I wanted, so who am I to argue with them? So the next night, while I was tempted to order the Wagu steak, I went with the Prime Rib; mostly because I didn't want to be "that guy who ordered the most expensive item on the menu because someone else was paying." It was really good and flavorful. We ordered creme brûlée again and told the server about our disappointment with the previous evening, and she said it would be much better this time. The cheapest thing on the menu was somewhere around $32 which I thought was crazy. And yes I know the food was great but the portions were too small for the price I believe. The only way to get filled on a meal here is to indulge on the bread (which was just a kings Hawaiian roll with a salty galaxy on top) that they give you. I was expecting some nice bread made in house with prices like these, it seemed like a cop out. What also was a cop out was the little birthday dessert treat you get which it's your birthday. Honestly terrible experience both times we were here. We came here for our bachelor bachelorette party and were yelled at by the woman in the front because we were five minutes late and she said they gave away our table for 20 people even though we called to let her know, which makes absolutely no sense. So they had to split us up into like 50 tables of two,.?? which was absolutely insane again and the food was horrendous. They yelled us to hurry up because the kitchen was closing in 30 minutes?? Then why take the reservation?? I was just super confused, especially since it was supposed to be my special day. The manager came over after we asked for him, and it ended up being one of the owners sons & all he offered us was a $25 gift card even though we spent over $2000 within 30 minutes and had to rush to eat and drink our food. It says on reservation app that you have 1 & 1/2 hours for dinner so that reservations can be on time. I had to wait till that was done , wife telling me let's go and I'm telling her let's wait because we have only had outstanding dinners at Fager's . Meal great still gets 5 stars but if you want to have a sunset meal you need to be known to the older hostess or arrive 1 hour before sunset not 30 minutes like I did . 200 dollars just for the food. Tons of windows overlooking the bay, which at dinner time is great because of the beautiful sunsets which they play the "1812 Overture" to every single nite, 365 days a yr !! Food was OUTSTANDING !!
