I can not say enough great things about the services I have received at Fair Oaks Vet. Clinic by Dr. Holland, Samantha and all the staff. I had a difficult cancer surgery that was successful because of the constant care and treatment. My Bela is doing great. We have just started getting monthly injections of Librela. It is a wonderful treatment for my older dog with arthritis. She had a significant improvement immediately. It has greatly improved her quality of life. She gets up easily in the mornings and is enjoying life like she is a 5 year old instead of a 12 year old Norwegian Elkhound. She plays and has energy all day long. The results last the entire month. IF your dog is having problems I recommend you try the monthly Librela shots. read more

Dr. Holland and Samantha were thorough, kind, and caring. They took the time to get to know my hen's health history, thoroughly checked her out, and involved me in the care decisions, even inviting me to look through the microscope to see what was going on. They were kind and sensitive to my hen's comfort and very caring in her treatment. They were patient and went above and beyond to get me everything I needed, including calling me back the following day with additional information and to answer my questions. We've been taking our babies to Dr. Holland since 2018. Our new little puppy, and our cat since he was a kitten, as well as our senior dog. She is really good at pinpointing issues!! She can be a little short with humans but when it comes to the animals she is fantastic and so caring. Which is really all we are there for, is for her to tell us how we can help them live the best lives possible. We've never had an issue and they are very accommodating when it comes to boarding! out-of-date, poor hygiene, rude doctor. brought 16 yr old westie in for grooming and at checkup was told hes in pain and dying and needs to be put down that said week, because Dr Holland said shes going out on vacation. Told her to call my mother and leave a detailed message and straight up left an alarming emergency voicemail saying we need to put him down soon. she then refused to service us anymore and referred to Blue Pearl. This was all from a couple coughs. Went to a much more modern vet and was told his heart murmur and kidney disease was stable and quality of life was still good. Dr Holland is stubborn, disrespectful and needs to get with the modern times or she's going to lose more business. read more

Dr holland misdiagnosed our rat then gave him pain killer as soon as we got him home an hour later he passed.we took him in to another vet for an independent autopsy he had a blockage which the vet said any first year vet could see .if wed known he could had been put on critical care to remove the block . dont trust this incompetent vet with any animal. We took our rabbit to holland for flea treatment before the autopsy results came back she was very rude tried to upsell on some bs product and gave my rabbit antibiotics that almost killed her i immediately took her off of them .if you love your exotic do not go here this is a terrible vet and worse human being. read more

This would be a great vets office if they replaced joy and only let the other girl work the front. Joy is rude,incompetent, and downright nasty to be around. Dr. Holland is a great doctor. We've had six dogs that we've taken too her. There have been times where test taken and questions that Dr Holland had and she took the time to make sure that she called us to discuss. Dr. Holland is the BEST option for rabbit care in the Atlanta area, period. I have been coming to Doc for over 5 years! She performed 2, I repeat, TWO cancer tumor removal surgeries on my 4 pound baby bunny Minka. It started when my baby girl Minka had a nipple infection which quickly escalated into blood being in her litter pan. I was scared because I just thought that was the mark of death on a bunny. Dr. Holland had Minka in the operating room the next day performing a spaying AND removing a mass the size of a large grape from inside. With all the blood Minka lost and the severity of the surgery Doc gave her a 50/50 chance to survive (and that was before we knew about the mass inside her). Not only did Minka wake up but she is on her way to a full recovery and even if the mass returns as a terminal cancer she bought me time I didn't think I would have with my baby girl. The staff allowed me to visit Minka every day and I called all the time and was always welcomed with friendly, caring attitudes. Michelle, Joy, Brie, Sam, and Kat are wonderful (if I forgot someone I'm so sorry). 2 years later the cancer returned, this time in the form of an abscess on Minka's stomach. Minka gave us no warning signs, so once again we found ourselves having to move quickly in order to save her. At this point Minka was over 10 years old and weighed 4.09 ounces. At this stage most people would have just put Minka to sleep and been done with it, but I knew I had a doctor capable of performing surgery and a bunny that was still full of energy. Dr. Holland removed over 6 lumps out of Minka and once again my little girl was soon at home as happy as can be. We got another SIX MONTHS out of our angel before the cancer came back again and we sent her to heaven. God Bless Dr. Holland and her staff for giving us almost 2 1/2 years with our sweet little girl. By the way, when I informed the staff that Minka passed away, I got a personal phone call AND condolences card from Dr. Holland, is your vet doing that? Let me address these low reviews left from people who call Doctor Holland rude or an "up seller", I even see someone calling Dr. Holland a racist (couldn't be farther from the truth). I have SEEN with my own eyes how she handles the pets in the back when I was visiting and she was amazing. Are you going there for you or your pet? You want a doctor that plays games so that you feel better? Or a doctor that knows what needs done and has the skills to do it? Trust me, we're all worried about our babies, take them where the job is going to get done, you'll feel better in the end. The up selling comments are just ridiculous, if you don't want something don't get it, it's always your choice. Don't blame them for selling things they think will benefit your pet. read more

Today, more than five years after I lost Murphy (see below for details) this place sent me a FB message saying "Sorry you had a bad experience, what can we do to make it better?" After FIVE years?? And what can we do to make it better??? Give me Murphy back you heartless excuse for a veterinarian - that's what will make it better. We were desperate to find an emergency vet clinic after our dog had a mishap and torn open the artery on his paw. While Fair Oaks is not an emergency clinic, they took us in with no appointment when they heard we could not stop the bleeding. They performed emergency surgery right away and took every care for my very anxious, and quite scary dog who does not like people outside his family. We have had several return visits for laser treatments as well and he is healing up quite nicely. Their prices were extremely reasonable as well. I'm very pleased with this office and how the staff handled my dog and his "issues". read more

Please do not trust the google/facebook reviews.!!! If I could give this place a 0 I would. The tech and receptionist were so nice and cheery and looked at my ferret like she was the best thing on gods green earth. My ferret is very skinny and not eating. Dr Holland walks in and picked up my ferret then looks at my boyfriend and says "this is a dying ferret." She also would not address me at all. Only my boyfriend. She said our ferret had a blockage, but didn't offer x-rays or anything. She let my boyfriend feel the mass, but not me. When we got home we could not find anything. She then tried to charge us 600 dollars to put our girl in an incubator and feed her then do surgery IF she makes it. We said no, because if she is going to die and has that slim of a chance of living then our ferret deserves to be with her family. When my boyfriend told her no she told us that if we "didn't want her anymore we can drop her off at 7 am." She is incredibly arrogant and rude. Dr Holland is the worst vet I have ever come across and has no manners on how to help a family of a sick loved one. If you care about your animal at all then do not go there. Went and bought my rabbit in to see the vet for a check up and organizing a neuter, the vet at Fair Oaks is Dr.Holland... While the receptionists I spoke to were very welcoming and friendly, Dr. Holland was not. She spoke down to me, she was condisending and made me feel stupid. it felt so uncomfortable. I just wanted to leave. While in consultation she kept trying to sell me other things like rabbit pills and vitamins which I thankfully said no to but then repetedly putting a guilt trip on me... By the end of the consult my hands were full of vitamins, rabbit food and litter... When I left the room, I told reception I did not want to buy any of those things and they were ok. I paid the bill and left. I have not been back ever since that awkward consult. I took my rabbit to a adifferent vet to get his neuter elsewhere. read more

I have 3 dogs. 2 of which rarely have any issues. 1 of them does have some serious issues. Dr. Holland has always offered excellent care. She will take the time to explain what the situation is and what treatment is recommended. Yes, occasionally there are delays to get in to see the Dr. but it is rare that it is a long wait. I've yet to find a Dr. or Vet where that is not the case. She will spend the time needed with each patient. I will wait a few minutes for her to spend time with another animal because I know she will spend the time needed with mine. Her staff is excellent, always thoughtful and friendly. read more

Spoke twice with receptionist Janice[nice,welcoming and friendly] about a kitten spay. As I informed her my kitten had all her yearly required shots completed in January,and is an indoor cat,as an unemployed veteran,I really wanted,and needed,no surprise extra charges. At first,I was told[as the FOVH "honors" a Cobb County Humane Society $60 spay/ neuter voucher] my total fee would have be elevated for non-covered expenses of pain medication during,and post surgery,totaling $110. Well,that was three weeks ago.Now today when we talked,Janice told me price would be "around $130" and I would have to also purchase a flea inoculation shot - even though I reminded her the kitten strictly stays inside and does NOT go out to attract any fleas. After reading one review [unfavorably]mentioning a Dr Holland,I asked who would be the veterinarian operating on my kitten. Yes,that would be one and the same Dr,who I was told was very good and that the reviewer just didn't like her product solicitation. Sorry,but Goodbye! I wouldn't give this business three stars because I can't say they're "A-OK". I won't give this business one star since I didn't bother to use their services. read more

I am not one to typically write reviews. However, this place really needs to consider replacing some of their staff. A week ago I called to make an appointment to take my dogs for a visit, the woman I spoke to over the phone was rude and she was very dismissive with every question I asked, it seemed as she was trying to get me off the phone. Although she wasn't very pleasant, I scheduled my appointment for Wednesday, 3/31 at 3pm, I figured this woman just had a bad day. Unfortunately, I am not be able to make the appointment and I had to call this afternoon to see if I could come in later that same day, but once again I found myself dealing with another person with a worse attitude. As soon as she picked up the phone I explained what I need it and very rudely she told me that I did not have an appointment for the day I mentioned and that the appointment I had was for 3/24 for one dog and 3/31 for my other dog which is definitely not how I would schedule my appointment since I have a 7 month old baby and my time is very limited. When I asked why my appointment got split, her response was "I don't know ma'am, are you keeping this appointment or not?" Her tone was extremely rude and I almost hung up the phone but instead I told her to cancel my appointment and before I could say anything else, she hung up the phone on me (guess I should've done it first LOL). I have been in customer service for over 10 years and I would never speak to a client that way. Do yourself a favor, if you're looking for a good and friendly environment to take your fur babies, do not go to this place, their staff will make it a very stressful visit, specially if your babies are already nervous about going to the vet. read more

The staff that works for the company is fantastic buuuuuuuuut Dr. Holland doesn't have the basic skills to talk to people in a warm and welcoming way. Is slightly racist, if you look like you don't understand her she'll say it slowly and loudly like you're in preschool. Doesn't like to answer questions or repeat herself, eventhough she speaks softly and sounds like a muppet. Will MAKE/GUILT you into getting unnecessary things like extra shots, push pills for your pet, etc. Especially when you could get majority of the stuff from a regular drug store, pet store for cheap. Wouldn't recommend coming here or recommending anyone to make an appointment with this particular doctor. read more

I've been taking my dog Peaches to see Dr. Holland for a few years since I moved to Cobb. We only went for regular check ups and nail trims mostly. Peaches tested weak positive for heart worms and we did treatment. She had a lot of discomfort after all of the injections and I ended up calling to talk to Dr. Holland she told me exactly how to help her be more comfortable. Peaches ended up sleeping good all night. The second and third injections went well. My boyfriend and I rescued another dog Juliet and she wouldn't gain weight no matter what and she had chronic diarrhea. He was taking her to another vet hospital and they told him she must be allergic to chicken. We switched foods and it was the same. I told him to bring her to fair oaks. Dr. Holland did blood work and other tests. She has inflammatory bowel! Dr. Holland takes time to figure out what's going on, she is very matter of fact but she does a great job. Juliet has gained weight. She looks and feels great! I trust her with both dogs. The whole staff is very nice as well. read more

I boarded my dog there for two days while we were out of town... it was several years ago. We got a call to rush back because our 10 year old dog was very ill. Not sure what happened, but we had to put our dog down. I would be very careful when it comes to using this vet!! I use Fair Oaks for vet services as well as boarding and grooming. Vet services, meds and grooming services are comparably priced to other places I've used. Boarding prices however can't be beat at $12.00 per day for a small dog with a doctor onsite! I've boarded at other places at upwards of $36.00 per day with no doctor on staff! I have been with Dr. Holland for over 12 years now. She has always been more than willing to take time to explain any information related to my pet's care or answer any questions I might have. All of my cats are found cats and are all special needs to some degree; Dr. Holland cares for them as if they were her own. She's watched them grow, watched them have pain, helped them recover, administer all of the wonders of science I could imagine, and helped me during the grieving of saying goodbye. Once, one of my boys had pillow feet and if you do not know what this, look it up...that poor cat...we worked and worked for weeks and into months....just as I was planning for surgery, and waiting and crying...Dr. Holland called the office with a special thought...this crazy OTC cream....IT worked!!! another time! my sweet baby girl was having arthritis issues and it began affecting her litter box issues and she began going everywhere but the potty...well, the day I took her in to put her down, Dr. Holland came in with me bawling my eyes out...my. Girl was only 10, and offered an alternative....what about chiropractor treatment....WHAT? For a cat...who's ever heard of such a thing? Well, here I sit, 2 years later with that sweet baby girl laying next to me, she still loves her adjustments every month now (every 2 weeks at first) and doing wonderful....I'm not sure what I would do without the trust, confidence, guidance and skill I've grown to expect from Dr. Holland.... Dr. Holland is one of those arrogant people who thinks a degree allows her to treat everyone else like their time and opinions mean nothing. She was arrogant with me from the start. I took my dog back because the clinic is nearby. However, this morning, after waiting for an HOUR for a scheduled appointment and still being told by the staff that they had no clue when she would be done ("It's crazy busy in here this morning"--if it's crazy busy then DON'T TELL ME YOU HAVE A 930 appointment for me!) and their being aware my dog spent the entire hour shaking in fear from the stench of the place, I walked out. I went over the the Apex Animal Hospital 10 minutes away and got an appointment for later today. They smell clean at least. read more

All our pets (cats & dogs) have been going to Fair Oaks since Dr Holland took over the Hospital. She is always very attentive to all our pet's needs. She is very informative and educates us on any medications or procedures they may need. She has seen our pets through sickness, health and even death. I find her compassionate towards our pets as well as ourselves. She is highly skilled and knowledgable from diagnosis, surgeries and care. She is to the point (black & white-no grey areas) on what is needed and should be addressed as far as your pet's health and needs. Her priority is your pet! I took my dog there and we had to wait for almost 2 hours in a hot room before we were seen. I had a price estimate done for a surgery on my dog and it ran $620-$693. (Without payment plans) I took my dog to Westside Veterinary with Dr. King and it will cost $140-$220. Dr. Holland doesn't seem to care about the dogs as much as she cares about money. Sam the groomer is great though if you want to get your dog nice and fresh. I'm happy I found another vet that actually cares. read more

If I could give MINUS 100 stars, I would. They threw away my beloved pet. I have been avoiding writing this review but I am coming up on 6 months of him being gone due to their negligence, and I feel it's time to speak out. To her credit, Dr. Holland is a nice lady, she refunded the money I spent on the day that her inept, idiotic and negligent tech Tomas lost my cat, and she did make some effort to help find him. Cameron (also a tech) is awesome, he did A LOT to try to help find/recover my cat. But if you go there? DO NOT LET THEM MOVE YOUR PET FROM THE BUILDING TO THE CAR OR VICE VERSA! TRANSPORT THEM YOURSELF!!! Tomas the Idiot was either not trained properly or didn't care enough and so my cat escaped from his grasp and was permanently lost. Two days after that happened and I was back in the neighborhood to look for him (as I did every day for many weeks), they were chasing a dog that had gotten away from them and was running thru the neighborhood. I wish no ill will on Dr. Holland's business, but until she fires that stupid tech (Tomas) and hires quality people, word will get out and such will be the consequences. read more

In 2008 we took our 18 year old cat to Dr. Holland who very compassionately put down the cat and was instrumental in our grieving. SO of course we chose her to take our 14 year old dying chihuahua to two weeks ago this Friday. I do not know what was going on, but after being put in a room immediately, we began to hear a loud voice and there was instant tension. Eventually a tech came in and had us fill out paper work and told us the doctor would be in momentarily. Our dog had been in the process of dying all week, but we had to make an unexpected emergency trip to SC for my husband's mom was taken to the hospital. We took the dog and cared for him. If we had been home we would have put him down even though at that point he was not in pain. The night we got home, he paced and by morning was letting out yelps of pain, we called Fair Oaks and got him in. Our poor doggy was in much distress. He was in pain. We waited, and waited and waited. My husband was so distraught. It was his dog that the kids had given him for Father's Day 14 years ago. When the tech came back in, and told us it would be soon, she was waiting with us and she was getting very embarrassed each time she would step out and go check and come back. Finally as she began to leave again, I said, "I don't know what is going on, but this is unacceptable. If the dr. can't come now we will go where we can get more humane treatment for our dog," who was pitifully howling and almost nipping at whatever he could (he was blind too), in dealing with the pain. She was so sweet and apologetic and could hardly look me in the eye she was so embarrassed about why the doctor was taking forever. We ended up waiting 30 minutes on the doctor to come in and put our doggie out of his misery. I would love to be able to say that is the end of the story, but I am afraid the nightmare began in earnest she the doctor entered. She had such an unprofessional attitude, she was extremely derogatory to her tech in front of us, a real power trip/struggle. And once she put her tech in her place (even though the tech didn't need it), she finally proceeded to turn her attention on our dog. Then the most bizarre thing: she began talking to our dying dog in a sort of baby voice saying, "He's a big boy, oh look at the big boy." that type of thing as though he were in there for a check up as a young pup. Totally inappropriate for the situation. Then after she administers the shot, she callously flips the towel over our dog's eyes and said they don't ever close, turned and walked out. We were in shock. Such complete lack of compassion, and professionalism. After she was gone and the tech was getting the paper work in order, my husband asked me to ask the tech when she got back to please make sure Dr. (and I hate to use that term for her) Holland not be allowed to handle our dog. So I got the tech to promise. I told her he deserved way more dignity than what she had given and she should not be allowed to touch any other animal. I started to ask the tech who Holland's superior was, but I had an uneasy feeling, and asked, "Does she own the clinic?" The tech grimaced and nodded. I said that's ashame, she does not deserve it. So, since she has no boss to report her to, I report her to YOU the public, that you save yourselves and your pets from the hands of this woman. I don't know if we caught her on a really good day in 2008 or a really bad day two weeks ago. Or maybe she prefers cats to dogs? Or maybe it was because I had my young teen daughter with me with the cat that she minded herself? Or is she a Dr. Jekyll/Ms. Hide? Or has she had some sort of illness that has changed things? No matter the reason, she should NOT be allowed to practice. I apologized to my husband over and over. I felt it was my fault, because I was the one that had chosen and used them with the cat. Gratefully, we will never be back. She owes us, our dog and her staff a huge apology. The staff were wonderful. Their boss, the owner, "Dr." is NOT! I hate to even put one star on here. There should be a skull and cross bones. read more
