It's close to my office, so I've ended up here several times. This is pretty darn good falafel. I'd wager it's the best falafel in Sunnyvale. The balls are very fresh, and as you wait for them to put your falafel together, I'm betting they are finishing off your falafel balls. While you wait, they often will hand you a freshly fried ball, dipped in humus. They're good. Not heavy on herbs, which is a for better or worse scenario. I actually love the flavor of the herbs, so this is why I pull 1 star from the possible 5. The freshness and texture are great. What makes this place special is the fresh pita. Screw getting a plate here, and always get the pita. It's just good, and again, the freshness and textures they put together make it amazing. Finally got around to trying this place after driving past it a gazillion times... I tried their chicken schwarma & wasn't impressed with the flavor of the meat. I liked everything else that came with my plate...the "salads", pita bread & fries but I like House of Falafel's schwarma much better! This place is absolutely falafel stop-endous! I had no idea there was such a great Middle Eastern restaurant so close to home. Frankly it is a cut above the rest. What makes it so great? First, the pita is amazing. They say it is freshly baked and boy does it taste that way. If you are used to the hard, dry supermarket pita, this place will be a revelation. Soft and flavorful, it is the perfect container for falafel. Speaking of which, the falafel are cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and not too dry. To top it off the whole wrap comes at a very reasonable price under 6 dollars. No way can they sell an entire meal for that price, I thought to myself, and ordered an Israeli salad in addition. I've been here many times before especially when ordering with the app Allset, and the food has always been delicious. They had great portion sizes, and all it was super easy to pick up the food. Probably one of the worst places I have ever eaten at. I understand some people like it...I have given this place 2 tries and both I have been very disappointed and will never come back. I had a hummus plate once and it was horrible (I got it because I was told everything is fresh here and it did not feel fresh to me); this time around I got the chicken shawarma and I only took 2 bites and felt like throwing up. This place has good tasting food, the portion size is small as compared to what they charge you for especially the falafel balls. The worst is their service and if you want to feel insulted then ask for extra sauce/condiments. For 3 people pita orders they will put very little or no sauce and almost no pepperoncinis unless you repeatedly ask for it. Seems like management is not caring about the final touches of showing good caring attitude for their customers. Also the service is very slow as they keep less number of servers and cooks. Been waiting for this place to open ever since I saw the "coming soon" sign that mentioned "fresh baked pita" and it did not disappoint. The fresh baked pita was stupendous. The falafel is light and fluffy not like some that are lead balls. My biggest disappointment was they were not serving the greek salad the day I went because "vegetarians complained the feta wasn't vegetarian"??? Just don't put it on their salad then but give me a greek salad WITH feta thankyouverymuch! Had they had this, they probably would have gotten 5 stars from me. I also wasn't very happy that none of the seating has backs, benches only and for a person with lower back issues, this is extremely uncomfortable so it will be carryout for me from now on. We've been here every weekend for lunch for the last month or two! The falafel balls and the pita bread mixed with pickled vegetables and the spicy sauces are addicting. What makes these falafels better than other places I've tried is the pita bread - soft and chewy. Most other places use lavish bread or some other wrap which are usually hard. What is also unique is that the falafel balls are layered in the pita between rows of the veggies and the sauce. So, you get a falafel ball in every bite. The price is great too - less than 6.00 for one falafel. The 1/2 falafel at 3.00 is quite filling - there are about 7 falafel balls in them. For my daughter, we usually get the veggies and the sauces on the side so she can put what she wants (or not) on her 1/2 falafel. The first time I went to Falafel Stop, I ordered the Sabich which has the eggplant nuggets in it. I didn't like it at all - the eggplant nuggets were all placed at the bottom of the pita. And, I couldn't really taste or distinguish the eggplant. So, I'm sticking with their delicious falafels. It seems to get crowded although we try to arrive on weekends before 11:30am. The ordering and pick up system can be improved. You order inside and then bring your receipt to the pick up window and stand in line there. When you place your order, it is not tied into any computerized system for the kitchen to see. You have to show the people making the falafels your receipt so that they know what to make. This system can certainly slow things down especially if people are not aware of the process. I've seen a few folks who sit down after ordering and expect to be called to pick up their order. I just really enjoy their falafels so much - it's a filling tasty meal at a great price! read more

The quick n dirtay: Falafel plate -- freshly fried falafel, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. nicely done. It was served on top of a chopped salad, hummus and drizzled with a couple sauces. Hummus plate -- basically a big plate of hummus and a chopped salad/cucumber salad. Served with a piece of pita bread. The restaurant -- You order first and wait for your order...had a fast food feel to it. There are picnic benches under an over hang so u can eat there if you want. There are heaters outside to keep warm during the winter. Small inside eating area. I don't know if I ordered the wrong things, but I wasn't too impressed with my orders. While the falafel was tasty, I felt like the two plates were very similar. The hummus plate was just like the falafel plate but sans falafel. I usually associate pita bread w dryness and hard texture but their pita bread is amazing - freshly made, super moist and a gluten-ous goodness! They are known for their falafel sandwich and the sabich (grilled eggplant nugget sandwich) but I wanted something light and glad they have the Israeli salad on the menu (cucumber salad w side of pita bread) - huge portion, pretty good but a but onion-y. I would request for less onions next time. They give you free sample of falafel balls!! read more

I was skeptical of this place since Falafel Drive Thru is a San Jose institution -- and this looked like a new clone. I didn't think they would have any way of beating the original. However, Falafel Stop is much, much better. They use much higher quality ingredients -- so you can go here much more frequently without feeling bad about yourself. In particular: the veggies are much better - largely due to better technique (smaller dice, better seasoning). Only wish they had a banana shake, but oh well. :) read more

Falafel Stop is a trek from where I am but I still make the effort to eat there. Fresh ingredients, bold flavors, reasonable prices. I really enjoy the falafel's here. I like the way the large falafel is layered twice with toppings: falafel then toppings falafel and then more toppings at the top. I'm taking off one star because it's totally confusing which line to stand in for the ordering and which line to stand in to make your falafel. Nobody there asks you if you know what you're doing and I've seen several customers including myself stand in the wrong line for way too long. Great food but total chaos. Falafel Stop is by far the best falafel place in the bay. The meats: shawarma, Jerusalem mix are also great and flavorful. We had a family event few months back and had falafel stop cater for us (~40 people). The price per person and the amount of food was more than enough. Lots of left overs for days. We ended up picking up our catered food instead of delivery, in order to skip paying huge amount on delivery. Overall -- the service, the packaging, the quality, the quantity, all great. Went there over the weekend for lunch. The service was fast and friendly. The food was great! The pita was spongy and warm, not like the thin, dry stuff I'm used to. And the falafel balls themselves were delicious and plentiful. To my knowledge, they don't serve ANY meat here at all, which is a shame, but for a great falafel, this is the place! I'm just worried about going there for lunch once school starts, as it's right across from a high school. I imagine it will be flooded with vegetarian high schoolers (if that's even a thing). read more

If i could give a 3.75 stars, i would. Great for a great falafel sandwich and pita, but not enough variety (or meat) for me. Very similar to the pita sadwiches u can get at Farmer Market stands. Hubby and i both got the falafel pita and then shared the Bavarian Creme. The dessert was good, but would have been better with a better chocolate syrup than Hershey's chocolate milk syrup. Hands down the best falafel sandwich in this part of town. Their bread is fresh and has this great semi-chewy texture that is simply awesome. I usually ask them to make it spicy and add humus. I keep telling myself that I'm going to order the eggplant but always fall back on the usual. I'll make sure to try it out next time. The falafel plate is good too. So I've eaten the falafel wrap and hummus plate here. Defintely up to par with really excellent falafel restaurants I used to eat in LA. The wrap is made constructed in a way that gives you a bite of falafel throughout. Falafel on the bottom, pickles, onions tomatoes tibouli, and another layer of falafel on the top with hot sauce. The falafel itself is light and fluffy and flavorful. No shawerma, but thats ok because the falafel is just awesome. read more

I tried Greek Salad here. This salad comes with a Pita bread and a falafel. It was good but the quantity seemed heavy. The spicy sauce that I got as a side wasn't all that great and it wasn't spicy either. Fresh pita bread and falafel is what I enjoyed here. Service is quick. The staff looked very energetic. There aren't a lot of seats when compared to the crowd that this restaurant attracts. Same goes with Parking. If you are here during peak hours you may have to factor in 5-10 min to get a parking spot. May not be all that great if you are looking for fine dining. Love this place. The falafel is great. The falafel garbanzo balls are lightly fried and flavorful. They taste fresh and exciting. So much better than other places. The pita bread also seems fresh and with the right moistness. The tahini sauce is excellent. It's great to have a lunch that's flavorful, healthy, inexpensive and fast. I also tried their other main dish, the sabich, which is made of cooked eggplant, boiled egg, hummus, tahini and a few other goodies. It's also really good. This isn't a fancy place. It's more like a road stand. You order inside and the seating is outdoors on picnic tables with a big shade cover. Eating can be a little messy as the pita is stuffed with great food, but it's worth it. Everyone is very friendly and it's become part of our weekly lunch rotation. read more
