    PITA backwards is A TIP
    Elaine C.

The customer service really stands out here. I ordered the kebab majadara (beef meatball) over a salad, and the meat was sooooo tender and flavorful. It paired surprisingly well with the fresh, crunchy salad and fluffy pita. I just wish it came with some hummus...I ended up stealing some from my boyfriend's shawarma plate. Also ordered one falafel on the side and they ended up giving us one extra since they forgot about it. Small gesture, but appreciated and a reflection of their excellent service.

This is our go-to falafel place for the past decade. Parking has always been a challenge; especially now with Jonny's next door. You order at the first door when you go in and seat yourselves. They have a long menu list with many to tailor to what you want. Second door down is where you can customize your order and pick up. They pack your food to the brim and I always have leftovers. Their meats are all seasoned well and moist.

    Falafel Pita Sandwich

One of the best falafel places in the area. Ordered the falafel pita sandwich. Falafels are crispy and light. The tahini sauce is creamy. The pita sandwich is stuffed with different kinds of regular veggies and picked veggies. While the falafel pita sandwich is great, it gets dry towards the bottom of the pita. They put tahini sauce on the top and they didn't put any sauce towards the bottom. Seating is semi-outdoor area with benches. Food is ready fast and staff are friendly. The ordering area is very small. There are one line to order and two areas to get your food - one area for meat plate and the 2nd area for vegetarian. The ordering line goes thru the meat area and it's hard to tell who's really lining up to order/pay or if they're just waiting around for the meat order to be done. Wish they get the line and ordering proxess more organized. The parking lot is pretty small and is hard to find parking during peak time. I'm not sure if you can park on the street. Best to come during non-peak time and carpool .

DAM this place is good! I would 100% come back, their fries were solid and would come back to try their rice. Their Naan too fresh and it was fluffy while having a nice bite too it. The whole plate is fresh. My friend said the hummus was nothing like he's had before. Service was super great too, the owner let me park in off spot cause of how some drivers were to nicely put it bad at parking. Parking for sure can get very packed. Place was super lively and service was quite fast. They were super friendly with giving recommendations too.

    Tape buried inside my food
    Mai S.

I've been a regular here for a long time because I love the food, but tonight was my final visit. While the male server was friendly, the woman serving me was dismissive, avoided eye contact, and seemed annoyed when I asked for sauce. To make matters worse, she gave me smaller portions than my friends who were served by the male server. However, the dealbreaker was finding a piece of tape buried in my food. I didn't realize it until I was chewing on it and felt the sticky residue. I can overlook mediocre service, but a physical contaminant in my meal is a major health concern. It feels like this place has become so popular that they no longer care about quality control or customer experience.

Coming back to my favorite childhood shawarma spot after all these years brought back so many memories, and it still tastes the same, even better! The people who work here are genuinely the nicest and always make you feel welcome. Nothing beats their shawarma in pita. We also got the falafel on the side, and it was incredibly fresh and delicious. This place is clean and everything is fresh, even their pita. This place will always have a special place in my heart.

This is supposed to be Jerusalem chicken on hummus

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. I arrived around 6:30 PM only to find they were already out of rice. I ordered two Jerusalem chicken plates with hummus and a side of chicken tenders for my son (about a $65 order). I was told the wait would be around 8 minutes, but I didn't receive my food until 24 minutes later. During that time, several customers who ordered after me were served first, so it appeared my order had simply been forgotten. After waiting about 20 minutes, I went to the counter to ask about my order. The employee said he'd check, went back to preparing food, then called out a number without realizing it was mine. When I told him it was my order, he repeatedly asked to see my receipt instead of simply checking the order. The interaction came across as unnecessarily distrustful and made me feel singled out. He then mentioned they were running low on the Jerusalem chicken I'd ordered, and another cook had to prepare more. When the food was finally assembled, the chicken portions were extremely small, and the plates looked incomplete (see photos). While preparing my food, I also watched him wipe sweat from his forehead with a paper towel and immediately continue assembling my meal using the same tongs. That completely turned me off. The order wasn't even complete. I received only one container of sauce for two plates, the pita that comes with the meal was forgotten, and overall it felt like he wanted to get me out the door rather than serve me properly. I spoke with the employee who took my order, who directed me to who I believe was the owner or manager. She initially seemed skeptical, but after I explained everything she apologized, asked which employee had prepared my food, and offered complimentary falafel to make things right. I appreciated the apology, but the experience had already been ruined. Unfortunately, even the falafel was disappointing--soft and soggy instead of crispy. In my opinion, Dish N Dash and Falafel Drive-In both serve better falafel. Between the excessive wait, forgotten order, incomplete meal, poor food handling, and the way I was treated, I won't be returning and can't recommend this restaurant. A $65 order deserved much better.

    falafel pita

It'ts been a while since my last time at Falafel STOP, but I came by after seeing the Italian Ice and Cream next door finally opened to grab lunch before dessert. There was already a line at opening, but service was relatively efficient and I got my falafel pita not long after I paid at the counter. The seating seems to have been refreshed since last time, and the indoor and outdoor benches were clean and plentiful. I got my go to falafel pita, which is the perfect amount of food for a light lunch - the falafel is nice and hot, with a light crisp and soft interior, and the hummus perfectly brings all the veggies and falafel together - I do feel like they don't stuff as much or as many types of veggies and pickles inside as they did before, but it's still tasty and a good deal for $11. Falafel STOP has been an institution for a long time, and it's definitely still a neighborhood staple and my go to for whenever I'm craving a falafel pita!

    falafel Salad
    Nasha F.

I love Falafel stop! Their salad is so filling and has an assortment of so many veggies that it makes it absolutely delicious! Their falafel is also moist and crispy, not dry at all. They are very generous with their servings, as the salad and falafel is always two meals for me. The workers are super friendly and their is plenty of seating indoors and outside. I always come back here when i'm craving falafels.

    Chicken shawarma plate
    Raymond M.

I went with the chicken shawarma plate, which comes with rice and a variety of veggies. The chicken shawarma was flavorful and had a nice smoky rotisserie taste and aroma that stood out. The rice was cooked nicely and had a soft texture, while the veggies were fresh and balanced the meal well. Everything came together in a way that felt satisfying without being too heavy. The portion size was generous and well worth the price, which can easily feed two people. The customer service was great, and everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. There was also plenty of parking, which made the trip easy and convenient.

    Grilled Kebab Jerusalem mix
    Leslie C.

Falafel Stop serves large portions of mediterranean food with a side of pita bread and salads. The menu has a large variety of meats to choose from which comes with hummus, salads, and fries. Jerusalem Mix plate had chicken sauteed with spices, served on a plate of different salads and fries. Grilled Kebab plate had beef, served on a plate of different salads and fries. Parking lot is small but accommodating if it isn't too busy. Seating is at outdoor seating with picnic tables. After ordering, receipt numbers are called to pick up the food. There are two lines since one side is vegetarian whereas the other kitchen side has all the meat options. Overall a place for delicious mediterranean food in enormous portions!

    Pita
    Vincent P.

Falafel Stop always hits the spot when I'm craving some Mediterranean food to-go. Every time I visit, I tend to order something with falafel. They're so crispy and packed with flavor, I think they're some of the best I've eaten, I also enjoy getting the Chicken Shawarma Hummus Plate, the portion is always a hefty amount. The tahini sauce is delicious as well. Sometimes I'll get it in a Pita, but I feel that the plate is easier and less messier to eat.

I stopped by on a Sunday early for lunch. The place was getting filled up then. By the time I finished lunch, there was a rush. Falafel pita was my favorite item. Their falafal was excellent. Chicken kabob on plate and Shawarma on plate were my other entrees. Both were flavorful items.

I have been coming here very long time because the meat is kosher. Last visit when I asked they said it was NOT kosher. And it was never kosher l. So is the meat kosher or not?

The restaurant has never been kosher, you can get a clue to that by the fact that feta cheese is served in the Greek salad and meat is on the menu. A kosher restaurant will display their kosher certification and fully abide by the laws of kashrut.…

Why do they put mayonnaise in their baba ganoush?

+1 It is just gross. I think they are doing it because mayo is cheaper than tahini.

Yesterday, I ordered a Vada Pav, Shalimar Egg Mughlai (on their recommendation from their list of egg dishes), and a Veg Frankie -- and honestly, none of it lived up to the hype(5 stars currently) or price point. Vada Pav: It was okay. The "mirchi" served alongside was literally a raw Thai green chili. Really? At least pan-fry it with some salt and oil to enhance the flavor. For over $10 with taxes, this was already pricier than better Vada Pavs you can get at places like Elco Drive, and yet it offered nothing exceptional. Frankie: This one made me genuinely angry. It was a soggy maida roll stuffed with the same aloo masala from the Vada Pav, plus a few sad shreds of cabbage. That's it. And they had the audacity to charge $12 for it. ($1.50 for cheese, lol I am glad we didn't add)This isn't a Frankie -- it's a lazy repackaged Vada Pav with no flavor or creativity. They threw in some pickled jalapeños on the side, which only added confusion. If you're running a fusion menu(well partially), at least mention it upfront instead of misleading customers. Egg Shalimar Mughlai: At $13, it was passable but still not impressive. The bun on the side was not toasted or anything. Better than the Frankie, but nothing I'd recommend or return for. I was so excited for trying this place but, overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. If your Vada Pav and Frankie are practically identical, maybe inform customers before they order both. I wouldn't recommend Maya Kitchen -- save your time, appetite and money and go somewhere else. One of my favorite Turkish restaurants in the area…read more I've tried the outdoor seating where you cook your meats yourself kind of like Korean BBQ, but Turkish version. I've also tried their indoor seating where you can order the food off the menu. I love the appetizers, the main dishes and I always finish my dinner with cold baklava and a Turkish coffee. I love the interior design, with the images of popular Turkish places like Istanbul and others, you feel like you are in Turkey. The staff is the kindest there is in the service industry. Everyone is polite, welcoming and work quickly even when there's a rush of customers. This place is a must try!

The restaurant has been under new ownership for about a month. I was greeted right away and quickly seated. I wanted to order the chicken and beef tenderloin combo, but I was told it wasn't available--even though both items were available individually. That was a little confusing. I ended up ordering the beef tenderloin. It was cooked well done, although no one asked how I wanted it prepared. I would have preferred medium. To start, I ordered the baba ghanoush, which was delicious. They also brought out a huge basket of fresh, homemade bread served with balsamic vinegar and olive oil--definitely one of the highlights of the meal. For my entrée, I skipped the rice and requested double vegetables. Instead, I received double salad. While everything tasted great, for a $36 entrée I was hoping for extra grilled vegetables like cauliflower rather than more salad. Overall, the food was very good, and I'd come back. The restaurant has plenty of seating both inside and on the back patio, TVs throughout, a full bar, and a nice selection of craft beers on tap. It has a welcoming atmosphere and is worth checking out. The staff was friendly, the manager (a lady) was very nice and gave me a small sample of a tomato pico looking item and told me to try it.

My family and I, two adults and two young children, came here during Ramadan for iftaar. Before arriving, I specifically called ahead to ask whether we needed to come early because I understood restaurants can become very busy during iftaar time. I was told that arriving 10 to 15 minutes before iftaar would be perfectly fine and that our food would be ready around the time of breaking fast. Based on that reassurance, we came about 20 minutes before iftaar expecting a smooth experience. Instead, the moment we walked in, it felt like we were invisible. The restaurant was crowded but not chaotic. We sat down and waited while servers walked past us repeatedly without acknowledging us. Eventually, I had to flag someone down myself just to place an order. I even asked directly how long the food would take because we were fasting all day and had two small children with us. The server confidently assured us the food would arrive around iftaar time. That never happened. When iftaar finally arrived, all we received were dates and water. No appetizers, no main dishes, nothing. We continued waiting while table after table around us received their food. Meanwhile, our children became increasingly upset and hungry. Anyone with young kids knows that after a full day of fasting, asking them to wait another 20, 30, even 50 minutes is nearly impossible. Our kids were crying, exhausted, and confused as they watched other families eat while we sat there with empty plates. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of honesty and accountability. Every time we asked about our order, we were told, "It's coming soon." Then eventually the server disappeared entirely for nearly 20 minutes and avoided us altogether. A woman later approached us, but instead of apologizing or taking our concerns seriously, she became dismissive and defensive. By this point, nearly 50 minutes had passed since we ordered, and she still insisted we "shouldn't complain" (in Farsi) because the food would come "soon." That response was honestly more upsetting than the delay itself. A simple apology, honesty, or basic compassion toward a fasting family with small children would have gone a long way. We eventually left the restaurant feeling humiliated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. What saddened me most is that this happened during Ramadan, a month centered around patience, generosity, hospitality, and good character. In Afghan culture and Islamic ethics, guests are supposed to be treated with dignity and care, especially during iftaar. Halal is not only about the food being permissible. Halal is also about honesty, fairness, respect, and how people are treated. Sadly, this restaurant failed in all of those areas. We will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone looking for respectful service or a welcoming family environment.
