Had a chance to try Falafel Stop after a long hike - and boy I am so happy I did. This was a spot I had tried a while ago, but always wanted to have again. I went today around 1pmish and there was quite a long line - the lines are a bit confusing but basically there's a separate line to order and another one to stand in to actually get your food. I ended up ordering the chicken shawarma hummus plate, and this was pretty delicious. This came with hummus, fries, chicken, and all these other sides like veggies, babaganoush and a whole bunch of other stuff. It also came with a side of warm pita bread that went perfectly with it. The portion was huge which was awesome, and I will definitely have left overs for the next day. The meal was $15 bucks so pretty well priced as well, given the portion. This is my first time going to Falafel Stop as my girlfriend was craving Falafel.came on a Friday evening at I didn't think it would be as crowded as it was. Arrived at 7:00pm and there were a ton of people waiting around. If it's your first time there it can definitely be overwhelming as there are a lot of people standing around, but if you read the signs above the windows it helps There are three areas of the store front, you order in the middle section. While ordering , it was very hard to hear the cashier as the place is loud. We ordered the falafel salad and the Jerusalem mix, I honestly didn't know what to expect when ordering the mix. I was given my receipt and told vegetarian dishes are picked up in one area and meat dishes are made and picked up in the other area. This was cool as some people are vegetarian and there is a room for cross contamination.....BUT NOT HERE, as the meat is prepared in a separate kitchen. Had to wait for my number to be called and as I stepped up to the counter, I had a hard time hearing again, but essentially they asked if I wanted everything. The mix was basically comprised of a bunch of different types of salsa or "cold slaws", my choice is meat which I got the chicken and fries. You can pick and choose what you want but of course, I got everything as it was my first time there. Staff was friendly just hard to hear. The dining area is composed of two area indoor which is basically where all the other customers are waiting, and outdoor. The indoor seating is inside of their sliding screen doors, but the windows are still open so it's still cold there's just a roof over your head . Over all delicious food, I was stuffed finishing my plate and I didn't feel guilty as it was mainly vegetables . Kinda on the pricey side but definitely tasty and would recommend. I've been to this place a lot during/after covid times. They definitely have best falafel and pita options. Sometimes you get super hot and flaky pita, which you can divide into upper and lower half without any problem. Sometimes I've got pita like any other places, just warmed enough but not fresh hot. Falafel plate looks bulky but 50% of this plate is filled by salad- mainly cabbage. There are onions, tomato, radish and other types of sauces too like tahini and hummus. The lady at the food prep counter will always ask, do you want everything? A small but nice gesture. Sitting area is so-so but even then weekend afternoon is hard to find the spot. Stopped by with a friend after work. The restaurant looks unassuming but gets pretty crowded around meal times. I ordered a kebab plate as well as a couple of falafel balls. The best part of the meal was the kebab, which is made of grass-fed Angus beef. It was cooked to perfection with that grilled taste that always adds an extra dimension to the meat. The plate came with four pieces of meat, so the majority of the meal was comprised of sides that you have the option to pick (ie. tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, etc). All the ingredients were fresh but didn't add too much flavor. One of the sides that comes with the plate is hummus but it was not flavorful and I probably wouldn't recommend it, but the baba ghanoush was really good. The plate also comes with a side of pita bread, which was more flat than fluffy, but worked well with the ingredients on the plate. The falafels were okay, but a little more dense and not as crispy on the outside as I'd like. Service is good. You order in the middle line and wait to be called on the left for meat dishes and get in line on the right for vegetarian dishes. Ordering is quick and simple, although there will be a bit of a wait for the food if they're busy. There is a decent sized parking lot but it gets filled pretty quick when things get busy. I love that they added windows around the dinning area it used to be open many years ago. Plenty of benches to eat your food family style. Absolutely love the Jerusalem mix - it is flavorful! A really good spot for Israeli eats. My visit was excellent! I got the 24 hour marinated chicken tenders on a plate (with rice and pita). Although if this is your first time, you might be confused with lines and how things work. Let me provide some tips: - Parking lot is small if you are going during meal times. Go for the first available space. Don't search around for parking because you could get stuck for awhile double parked. - There are 3 lines. Always stand in the middle line to order your food. Then depending on what you are ordering determines whether you go to the left or right line. Left line is meat/grilled items and right is for the falafel/veggie line. - Lines do get long so I would recommend ordering online or being patient. - Get anything with a pita because they are super fresh. Not like the ones in the supermarket that are dry as a rock. Now if you are asking if it is as good as Falafel Drive Inn in SJ, it is totally different. It's like comparing apples and oranges. **During Quarantine Review: April 2021** On my most recent Bay Area getaway I decided to hit up this spot since I was at that time still fasting and unable to eat meat. I hadn't had falafels in a while and it was the last day before Lent ended, so I thought that would be a great meal to finish off my fast. On a Saturday afternoon this little shop was pumpin'! We were able to find a parking spot in their lot, but there was definitely cars pulling in and out, making me think that this is a hot spot for take-out! The shop has a very simple humble aesthetic and there's ample outdoor dining. The clientale was very diverse, and most seemed like regulars and knew what they wanted to order. I decided to go for a falafel ($7.11) in a freshly baked pita bread whereas my friend did a meat dish. While we both ordered with one person the Falafel Stop has two separate areas were they cook. So I was directed towards the right side of the building where they freshly stuffed my pita bread. It was very tasty. I loved the crunch from the veggies, the smooth creaminess of hte hummus, the warmth from the soft bread, and tangy tahini sauce, but in the future I think I may try the Falafel Salad which is basically the same thing but spread out in a plate so you can enjoy all the beautiful colors. I would definitely come back again whether I'm fasting or not, the food's good, inexpensive, and fast which would all warrant a return. I recommend it! read more

Went last night with my BF for the first time since going in February 2019 with one of my best friends from college. I believe I got a falafel in a pita in 2019, and all I remember was thinking how amazing it was that I remembered it 4 years later. I got the falafel salad with fries as a side and my BF got the shawarma plate with rice, extra shawarma meat, and fries as a side too. Both of our portions were massive, and I really mean gargantuan. Since we were both starving, we ate everything (except I could not finish my fries so saved them for another time). Normally, the salad would have been two light meals for me. This place is quite customizable as you can tell the person putting your order together if you'd like it spicy, without a certain ingredient, etc. My BF did comment that half of his plate was salad, and only a quarter of it was meat so he was glad he got extra meat. My falafel was super delicious - not oily or greasy, and not too salty. You get 10 in the falafel salad. Fries could have used a tad more salt, but better to be undersalted than oversalted. They were nice and hot and substantial - otherwise perfect. The salad itself turned a little watery after awhile, but that's probably because of the high water content of the ingredients/vegetables. Consistency is more of a chopped salad, where everything is in tiny pieces, but this way you can mix everything up and taste a little bit of everything. My salad came with a pita and this was delicious - pillowy, soft, and able to handle some heft. Ordering is a little confusing at first - you order at the cashier, and they give you a ticket. You either go to the vegetarian side or the meat side, unless you ordered something from both sides. At each counter, they take your ticket and make everything for you - this is when you can customize to your liking. Will come again next time I'm in the area and craving falafel! read more
