Food: 4 Service: 2 Overall: 3 Ambiance: 4 Okay so we went during the first night of restaurant week and the kitchen was severely behind. We went as I think this is not some place that we would typically try within our budgets. When we got to the host stand, we were told by 3 different people "someone will be right with you"... we waited to get sat at a table. We waited a solid 10-15 minutes to even get water at our table. Again we were told "your sever will be right with you" several times. She said the kitchen was behind, but other than that I could not hear the little comments she was trying say. I had the midnight in Paris cocktail which was fine, didn't think it was anything stunning. He had the rose ice cube old fashioned. The ice cube was very cool! I ordered the cauliflower soup to start- it was delicious!!! So flavorful and yummy. My boyfriend got the frites to start. They came out looking like 3 mozzarella sticks. Potatoes and cheese with a chive aioli. He said they were very good! For our entrees I got the duck duet and he got the steak frites. The duck duet- the carrots were sublime and perfectly glazed. I enjoyed the nectarine (I think it was a necartine) on the plate. The sliced duck was fine but desperately needed a sauce. The pulled duck on top of the grain was juicy and amazing, super flavorful and great. The steak frites had a great sauce and was perfectly cooked. The fries however needed a dipping sauce. None was offered. For dessert I had the peach crème brûlée and he had the french opera cake. Both were lack luster. The french opera cake had no taste to it besides sweet. The frosting on top has a good creamy texture but still no flavor- it was just sweet. It tasted cold like someone had just taken it out of the box and sliced it up. The crème brûlée definitely had a lot of peaches but just not exciting. We had to wait quite a while between courses. Overall we were there over two hours. In fairness, this is more of meat place, But I ordered the stuffed artichoke hearts and the dish was very disappointing. For $30 you expect more than a couple of hearts, the dish was not nearly enough food for an adult and the flavor was lacking. Honestly, they should be embarrassed to serve this dish, let alone charge that price. read more

While a bit out of the way if you are a Denver local I do think Famille is worth a stop if you are in the area. Famille offers a bit of a retro vibe with an exciting menu sure to please just about anyone in your party. The cocktails here are diverse and delicious, but I definitely wouldn't come here for a beer, this place caters more to the 20-30 something bruncher not the brewery lover. A note on that however, there is no bottomless here, so beware of the stacking mimosa cost if you are drinking more than two. What Famille lacks in drink specials it makes up for in its food. We started with the duck poutine which was honestly some of the best poutine I have had in Denver, I appreciated that the whole thing was not covered in cheese, but instead only had a few curds, for some this is points lost, but for me it made me enjoy the different flavors on their own without the salty cheese overshadowing everything. We split the French toast and the green chili ranchero as well and the biggest hit at the table was the French toast, everyone loved it. Topped with caramelized banana and strawberry sauce, what's not to love. The green chili is good, not top 10 in the state, but still good. The pork under the eggs on the ranchero was moist and fall apart in your mouth, but my eggs were a bit over done (a major pet peeve of mine, when I say runny eggs I want those things to explode when I cut into them). But, I would still order this dish again. Overall it was a great brunch, would I make a special trip out there just for this, maybe not, but if I were in the area would I eat there again? Thank you French Food God's for bringing this lovely place to my neighborhood. This little hidden gem is located in a newly renovated area of Westminster and what a pleasant surprise to be able to experience some locally sourced French and American Cuisine in an intimate but casual setting. My husband and I are always looking for good places to eat breakfast or brunch and our choices are fairly limited within our area; so we were surprised to discover this restaurant which has breakfast, brunch and dinner service. The food, cocktails and service are outstanding and prices are reasonable for the quality of food. The restaurant has the appearance of being a fine dining establishment without the uppity vibe. Come One, Come All, because there is something to enjoy for everyone here. You can even stop in for a fresh juice like the "green machine." The waitress informed that they do to go orders but I would recommend eating inside if you have the time. The restaurant is set-up to accommodate both large groups and small groups and there is also a large bar area. The bartender is outstanding, putting a creative and beautiful spin on traditional drinks like the old fashioned. This drink is so aesthetically pleasing with beautiful colors of rose shaped ice. I highly reccomend any of the drinks here as the flavors are much more complex than your typical watered down basic beverage. For Brunch; I enjoyed the French Onion soup. It was rich and savory with lots of melted gruyere cheese within and melted on top of the bowl. My husband had the Steak Frites Au Bleau. The parmesan fries were delicious and he especially enjoyed the dipping sauce with a mayo and garlic base and finished with just a hint of truffle oil (we think), so yummy! The steak with aged Bleu cheese was delicious and was cooked perfectly. The accompanied grilled and flavorful tomato was a nice touch, adding a bit more acid to balance the flavors on the plate. It was all just so good and a perfect way to start our day. These dishes are all so well thought out and due to the reasonable cost, ambiance (music), chic yet casual environment as well as the most amazing food; we could see ourselves coming here many, many, many more times! read more

REALLY wanted to love this place, but just couldn't. I should preface this by saying we stopped by for drinks during HH, and vacillated between dinner or just going home. First, the place was pretty quite the day before thanksgiving around 4:00 pm (happy hour) when we arrived. Our host was nice enough and gave us waters and the menu quickly. I got the Luxardo Limonade which was a bit more on the soury side than I was hoping for. And it takes a lot for me to say that given that I literally snack on limes and lemons w a dash of salt. There wasn't much flavor to it either, which was really disappointing While seated, my husband noticed a pretty big piece of glass right under my foot that if I had stepped on it with thinner shoes would have definitely punctured. Not sure how the staff missed that. Picked it up and set it on the bar without a single staff member noticing it. When it came to check out, we were charged full price (no biggie since HH only takes $2 off). Again, not sure what was going off, maybe it was an off day, but I might go back to give them another shot. read more

Met a colleague here for brunch. I was excited to try a new place. Place is located in the redevelopment area of the old Westminster mall. I arrived there and was taken back to our rsvp'd table. The place is very trendy and fresh. I like the ambiance and feel of the place. The brunch menu is limited and variety, but simple enough to choose from. My colleague had the steel cut oatmeal and I got the baseline breakfast sandwich, no cheese, and toast to the side. Presentation of food was good. Colleague said her steel cut oatmeal was good. The waiter brought out fresh made cherry jam to have with my toasted muffin. The cherry jam was very delicious! The jam was perfectly sweet and subtly tart. My eggs were scrambled perfectly and not hard. Sausage patty was delicious. The breakfast potatoes were disappointing. It was dry, tastes cold, and not fresh. I overall enjoyed my breakfast except for the potatoes. I definitely would come back here to try something else and skip their potatoes. It might be better next time. read more

I have not stopped talking about this place since I went last weekend. My husband and I went for restaurant week and were blown away by the experience. The food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I'm a pescatarian, so I was a little worried about the restaurant week menu but there were so many options for me. I started with the Brie croquettes, which were amazing. The Brie was so creamy and the outside was so crunchy. My entree was the ratatouille with grilled salmon. The portion was large, the veggies were so flavorful, and the salmon was cooked perfectly. For dessert I had the creme brûlée trio and it was superb! So creamy and I loved the variety. They had a great wine selection and delicious cocktails as well. The staff were eager to answer all of our questions and made us feel at home. This is definitely going to be one of my new regular spots. read more

I went to Famille with a group of francophone friends recently for dinner and we were all excited to try this restaurant whose executive chef is French! Located inside the Origin hotel, in the new downtown Westminster, the space is upscale but casual enough to feel inviting; we all loved the atmosphere. There is also a cool bar where it would be nice to just get drinks and a little bite. The menu offers small and large plates with a French touch for dinner and they also added brunch recently. I had the Moules/frites and if the broth was delicious, a good amount of the mussels were undercooked making them hard to eat (they were sticking to the shell) or to open .  I also had the Ratatouille and it was perfect. One of my friends really liked the Petit salé of duck leg, and I may have to go back just to try it, I love duck confit!   Another friend was less enthusiastic about the Steak Frites as the meat was a little too chewy. For dessert, the Crème Fraiche Brûlée was a hit around the table, but I found it too runny and I like the traditional one better. I had the Lemon Basil Tart, very tasty, I just wish the crust was more crispy though. So overall, it seems like some plates worked better than others; I'll admit we are a tough crowd being very familiar with the French cuisine. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, but even though it was just our table of nine in the restaurant that evening, they were a couple mistakes (I can't blame her, it's not easy with a group of ladies who all have an accent!), and the kitchen was a little slow. I will certainly go back because the space is beautiful and the food mostly good, and I expect they just need to make a few adjustments as the restaurant opened fairly recently. We continue to eat here several times a year and are always pleased. The service and food are invariably wonderful. The ambiance is upscale casual. Parking in back or on the street. My only criticism is the lack of crepes. That is kind of disappointing for a "French inspired" restaurant. Regardless, the food is good and there is a nice dessert selection. It is inside of Origins hotel but not a typical hotel restaurant. I have only eaten dinners there. I have heard breakfast is very good and hope to try it sometime. read more

I was lucky enough to go with a bunch of other foodies so we really did some damage when it came to ordering like almost everything on the menu! 4 different appetizers to start: charcuterie, bison tartare, lamb meatballs, mussels; all were amazing. Wonderful broth for the mussels, bright flavor for the meatballs, and stunning visual from the charcuterie! The drinks are thoughtful and delicious! The French Martini with Chambord, fresh raspberries, and liquid nitrogen was not only fresh and fruity, but fun to watch as it bubbled and smoked! Entrees were all rich and delicious! My trout was perfect! I tasted a bite of the duck leg and it was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The lamb shank was massive! Desserts: you can never go wrong with crème brûlée; but I am regretting not ordering Liégeois as that seemed like it was the perfect bite of sweet that incorporated a nightcap. Oh well all the more reason to go back! And I have to say I loved the ambiance! To me the bar was perfectly stunning and I wish I could model my house after that style. We found this place on yelp. We came on a Thursday night. The place is very nice inside. The service was really good. We ordered a drink and our waitress rolled a car and made the drink. I really enjoyed that. I ordered lamb meatballs as an appetizer . They were okay they tasted like chorizo. I ordered a seafood dish. That was ok but way too saucy for my liking. Located right next to Alamo theater and attached to a hotel, this restaurant is perfect for a quality meal before catching a movie. We went on Valentine's weekend and the staff decorated our table with rose petals, the drink special was made right in front of us on a little cart (great way to market it), and they even had a special Valentine's Day bon bon selection. The lamb was definitely our favorite, cooked perfectly medium rare and very flavorful. Our server was very friendly and made the experience memorable. Great date night spot! read more

I was completely exhausted from my flight when I arrived at my hotel. Julie was absolutely amazing. As soon as I walked in, I asked for a glass of water, and she kindly provided it right away. I cannot express my disappointment in my one and only visit to this 90% empty restaurant at 12:30 in the afternoon. I now understand why it's empty. I ordered eggs Benedict--my favorite brunch food. Strangely, it arrived with a Macdonald's like hash brown patty on top of an untoasted English muffin. The entree included breakfast potatoes so why also an untraprocessed hash patty? The eggs were so overcooked there was not a speck of yolk on my plate, not a drop oozing from the egg when I sliced into it. I removed the top of the English muffin because when they're untoasted they're tough, and I couldn't cut through both the top and bottom without (presumably) a steak knife. Squirted on the top bun was what looked like thousand island dressing. The menu said it was some sort of pepper aïoli but I didn't even taste it. Who puts a top on eggs Benedict?!? There was also an ultraprocessed sausage patty, entirely lacking in flavor and a texture to match. The worst eggs Benedict I've had since I don't know when. My colleague ordered a house salad (rather than a Caesar) with salmon, and commented that it was the smallest piece of salmon she'd ever seen. They're so proud of their food they name the executive chef on the menu. It was clear she wasn't at work today. The server couldn't manage to handle the checks from 2 tables at once. She was also the hostess, bartender, and only visible employee. I ordered a meh Bloody Mary and my colleague a mocktail. The server cum bartender admitted she was new to slinging drinks but would try to make a menu specialty without the booze. How hard is that? Clearly they're accustomed to a lack of clientele. Now you know why. Go across the street to the Mexican place. I ate there the week before Christmas and their street tacos and margaritas were outstanding. Wish I had taken photos of the not-from-scratch food but just open a sausage McMuffin. read more
