Was told 15-20 minute wait. Waited over half hour because we kept being told we're up next. There were tons of empty seats and they said the kitchen was backed up and that's why we weren't being seated. Then they sat 20+ people at once when the kitchen opened up but that then SLAMMED the kitchen again. While the service was good, the food was just so-so. Everything is hot and spicy. I thought they would have something that is not covered in spices. When will restaurants learn that they are ruining the food by dousing everything in the spices. Sometimes they need to let the flavor of the food come through. I ordered the catfish fingers and I could not really tell what I was eating because it was so hot and spicy. I detected no catfish flavor whatsoever. With catfish, all you really need is a pinch of MSG to bring out the flavor. Believe me, MSG is perfectly safe. It never was and never will be a problem as some people claim it is. This was our first time eating at this establishment, although I have eaten at the one in Olathe, KS and Cedar Falls, IA. We had the 2 meat platter with brisket and chicken (one bbq and one roasted) with coleslaw and potato (one loaded w/o bacon and one potato salad). The tiny (think Cornish game hen and only a leg quarter) roasted chicken was burnt to a crisp and very dry. The bbq chicken (sawas undercooked. The brisket was very fatty and was also a bit undercooked. The coleslaw tasted sour. They brought the plates out and we found the loaded baked potato to have bacon when I specifically asked for no bacon. They fixed that but the potato was cold. I don't mind paying $60 for two meals but expect for them to be edible for that much money. We will not return. read more

First time trying Famous Dave's other than the sauces from the store back in okc and it was pretty good. The pork was good although I think I'd like it better without sauce on it. I also got the hot link and yo be honest it wasn't my cup of tea. It wasn't bad just different. The sides and appetizers were good. I do think for the seven or eight bucks for the deviled eggs is kind of steep when you only get four eggs. They seem like they stay pretty busy too so come early. I visited this Famous Dave's location after completing the Grand Country Half Marathon. It is perfectly positioned on the landing and facing the lake. The ambiance and location were absolutely perfect after finishing the race. The service was excellent. We were seated right away and were encouraged to try the Feast for Two, although there were 3 of us. That was an awesome recommendation because there wasn't an item on the platter that we didn't enjoy. From the barbecued chicken to the succulent ribs. I was just in heaven. The thick cut fries, tender baked beans and corn muffins were on point too. In fact, although we had just completed a big race, we had to take leftovers. I can attest that the ribs were just as good later too. We were checked on often, are drinks were never empty, and were allowed to split the check into 3. BEST BARBEQUE!!!! I used to eat at another location growing up until we moved. I was SO excited to see them in Branson. I was worried it would not be as good as I remembered or that the quality would have gone down but they did not disappoint! It was all AMAZING! We got the two can dine meal because they were having an special. Their cornbread muffins are pieces of heaven. Every bit of meat was amazing. My favorites were the pork and ribs. Their rotisserie chicken is also probably one of the top two I've ever had. For sides, we got mashed potatos, mac and cheese x2, and onion straws. They were all so good minus the mac and cheese could have been better. It was still good, just super runny. The sauces are seriously the best. My favorite is the Devils Spit, just the rice amount of heat. My husband had all of them and loved them all. The service was also A++. I plan to come back every time I come to Branson. Maybe it had been a while since I had really good BBQ, but this place definitely hit the spot. Was the best place we went on our trip. The burnt ends and rib combo was very good. Rib meat was easy to peel off the bone. Burnt ends had the right amount of chew. Wife's brisket was very good. Even our kid ate all of the mac and cheese and broccoli. And even eyed our plates for the corn on the cob. All of the sauces are very good, but I especially like mixing the Texas Pit with the Georgia Mustard - some spicy notes from the black pepper with a little twang from the mustard. Service was attentive and family-friendly. Would loved to have had the appetizer sampler platter, but couldn't make any substitutions I wanted. But very happy with what I ate. read more

So, we came in with a party of twelve (couldn't make a reservation). The hostess told us it would be an hour to hour and a half wait. Not happy with that, we tried calling other BBQ places and all were long waits. Saw four to five tables in a row not being used. Asked if we could put them together and were told no. I've seen this guy several times on Food Network Channel challenges and always wondered if he was any good. Well, this highly picky, over critical BBQ snob Yelper was blown away with the flavor and tenderness of the spare ribs and Ah-Ma-Zing beef brisket! I could wrap this review up in loads of overly expression adjectives topped with a shiny bow... But I want to just simply say: Famous Dave's is worthy of being mentioned as some of the best BBQ anywhere. Hope he decides to come to Georgia some day. I could eat here every day! Side Note: Beans were delicious. Spicy Mac n cheese was ok, but not a fan. Garlic mashed potatoes were good. Fries were great and loved the various BBQ sauces. Came here to check their barbeue. Turns out this place is famous. Famous ribs are their signature item. We ordered the ribs and brisket, and the ribs were fantastic. Brisket was so so. But this place was good although it didn't really stand out past the Rib Crib, Bandanas, or any other mid priced BBQ eatery that has sprang up over the past few years. The food was good. Well, the service was really good. We came on a Thursday at 5:30. They weren't super busy but then summer is just getting started for Branson. We had a super nice young man waiting on us. We ordered an appetizer of burnt ends. They were good but small portion for an expensive appetizer. The ribs were good for a chain. Someone in our group had chili which she said was good. I like how they have six different sauces at the table. They serve beer and wine which is nice because we like cold beer with BBQ. I'm not a big fan of BBQ by chains but the ribs here were a little better than other chain BBQ places I've been. The dining area is nice and it was clean. We visited here on a cold day and were pretty hyped about all the good things we heard. Upon entering we instantly liked the cabin like atmosphere. We we're seated fast and noticed they had a good system for replacing napkins which is a must at a rib place. We split some ribs and tried them with all of the sauces. The problem was nothing really stood out to us. They were just ok. Nothing special. I was a little let down especially by the price. Our sides were ok but pretty small. TL/DR: food was 4 stars, service was 2 stars Came here as a group of four couples. We had a reservation and got seated right away, but the server couldn't keep the drinks filled. And worse, instead of grabbing the bottom of our glasses, she kept grabbing our glasses from the top, at the drinking surface. Not all of us used straws, and I personally hate them, but she kept putting her hands where I had just been putting my mouth! After dealing with this, and having a constantly empty glass, I simply asked for a pitcher of water to pour my own glass. Also, we stated we had a coupon when we ordered, and it was sitting right in the table when she brought us the check, and ignored the coupon. This kind of obliviousness is a big part of my low rating. As for the food, it was pretty good, but not something that I'd go out of my way to eat. The homemade BBQ chips (delivered hot from the fryer) were a nice touch, and the meats were well cooked, but not in such a manner that you could tell it was expertly smoked in a way you drool just remembering it like other BBQ joints I like to go to. And the sauces were also really good, but again, not outstandingly memorable. The food is a solid 4 stars, not knocking it at all. We stopped in here for lunch after walking the length of Branson Landing and opted to have lunch on the patio. Our entertainment was a view of the zipline crossing the river and we weren't inspired to give it a try for ourselves. For our meal, we ordered a broccoli/cheese stuffed potato and a portion of brisket with mac 'n cheese and cole slaw as our sides. We planned to split everything between the two of us. Our server brought us a small dish of their homemade potato chips while we waited for our food. We ate everything on our plates including the potato skins. There wasn't a single thing to complain about the food. The biggest surprise was the jalapeño-laced mac 'n cheese, but we both agreed that it was good.
