Follow up to my first review, because the service and customer service was wonderful yet again. Stopped by on Friday night for a late dinner, 30 minutes until closing (12am). I was expecting to have a rushed dinner, but was pleasantly surprised to have a very sweet waiter and very quick service. There was three of us having dinner and everything was delicious. The only small hiccup was a mixup with the order, where we got chicken fajitas instead of the churrasco fajitas, but they were very tasty never the less. I only managed to snap a picture of my plate, a half rack of baby back ribs with a side of broccoli and the house Mac n' cheese. The ambiance was very nice, calm and not at all packed like most neighboring spots. The customer service is always great, and the food and prices do not disappoint. The food here is great quality and fresh. Everything we tried was delicious except the brisket. The brisket was not tender possibly was undercooked. The rib tips were great also burnt ends. The corn muffin is really good along with coleslaw and sweat potatoes fries. For dessert the bread pudding is a must they have good tequila and cocktails. read more

Ordered a brisket sandwich and menu showed sliced brisket on Texas toast. They brought a chopped beef with sauce in it. It wasn't close to what I ordered. It was below mid. Someone needs to sit down with these guys and get it right. Knowing that there is a huge language barrier in the area, I pointed to your menu item which in turn was exactly what you and I described. Ordered Dave's thru ubereats. Monday 12/13 5:30pm. Spent almost $40 for one entree. The ribs were chewy and tasted old, reheated. Took one bite and threw it out. The side of corn was completely missing.I had even asked for butter for the corn in the note section....so then no corn, no butter. Like I said $33 plus tip... for one meal that was inedible. The ribs were gross and the corn was missing. Don't bother with this place. Wasted my $$$$. Save your time and $$$., order from another bbq spot..... major disappointment and out $40 for nothing. Today was our first time at Famous Dave's! I must say I was really impressed with the flavor and quality of the food. The size for the apps are enough for 3 people! Our experience was a great one thanks to our server Aldo. He was polite, attentive and had a nice demeanor. Sunday night and debating were to go for dinner and since we were in Doral area Famous Dave BBQ was the unanimous decision. First this place isn't your average bbq spot, unlike usual log cabin types with wooden table and seats it's a very clean and well decorated restaurant. Staff was super friendly and we were seated almost immediately. At table we were greeted by Angel our server that has a very energetic personality and made sure everyone was smiling and having a good time. They have a complete bar with awesome signature drinks, I had the Pisco Sour which was excellent ! Food was great, I had the Texas brisket and baby back ribs.. at end Angel surprised us by bringing out a delicious bread pudding desert. First time visiting this location of Famous Dave's. Visited one in NY a couple years ago and remember having a fairly good experience. The Doral location is great inside with a bar, TV's, an assortment of different tables and friendly wait staff. Was desperate for a drink and ordered an Old Fashioned, which first of all took a good while to get to me and when it did it was served in a tall cocktail glass rather than the usual tumbler/lowball glass. Didn't taste too bad but I felt like I was drinking a Long Island Ice-tea. Went with the BBQ Tostones for an appetizer and would definetely recommend them. You get a taste of South Florida with the 3 tostones. which were fried to a nice golden crisp and then topped with either Pulled Pork, Brisket, or chicken. I'd recommend paying the $1 more and getting the sampler, which comes with one of each. Topped with an aioli type dressing and some salsa these were delicious. I next went with a Southern Rib Tips and BBQ Chicken combo. The chicken was cooked great and flavorful but on the small side for the price. The Rib Tips were ok, slightly over cooked and chewy, but the spicy BBQ sauce accompanying them was really good. 'Garlic' mashed red potatoes were disappointing and lacking any flavor, particularly garlic. Coleslaw was mediocre and the corn on the cob was way over cooked. Tostones were good and Famous Dave's always has a nice array of good BBQ sauces, but I have to admit I was disappointed in the food. I think the way my Old Fashioned was served to me also set me off on the wrong foot. Hate to compare but with another BBQ restaurant (beginning with 'S') less than five minutes away, it will be hard for me to re visit Famous Dave's. read more

My friend and I spent $129.60 in this restaurant tonight and we still cash-tipped Bartender Paul more than he deserved. He charged me FULL price for a glass of wine during happy hour! Our beer glasses spent more time empty than full and Paul was not even close to being busy on a Thursday at 4pm. We felt like we were invisible to him. We ordered the Baby Back Ribs with loaded baked potato. What we got was a plate of beef jerky. Our ribs were overcooked and dry like jerky and our loaded baked potatoes were just plain potatoes with a drop of bacon and cheese that you could hardly find. Asking Paul for more toppings was like begging for food. This has been a regular issue with their "Loaded Potatoes" as they don't understand what "Loaded" means, but they don't have any problem charging you extra $3.00 for it. Anyone knows that a "Loaded Baked Potato" should be overflowing with bacon, cheese, & chives, but they short product you thinking that you won't notice. Our other side dish was baked beans. I am not exaggerating when I tell you it was served in a dish so small, it literally took one spoon bite to finish it. I'm actually offended that they respect us so little as to serve these tiny portions and charge a premium price on the bill. We have been regular customers since April 2016 and Famous Dave's has really gone downhill and I don't see any sign of recovery. Over charging, portion shortages, poor quality BBQ. I live in Broward, but I have to say the best barbecue places are definitely in Dade county, Famous Dave's is one of them, their beans are absolutely delicious, the coleslaw is so tasty, they're brisket is a hit or miss though, but I've had more hits than I've had misses. When it comes to barbecue, everyone has different taste that they're looking for and for me it's all about the flavor and Famous Dave's has yet to disappoint me in that area, like I said, the brisket is a hit or miss, sometimes I've had it where it was more fat than meat, but other than that, everything has been tasty. The pork has never been dry. The chicken has never been dry and the staff is always friendly. The place is always packed too. The family meal is my go to and worth the money cause I like to eat it several times and there's plenty for me and my teen boys. I'm not close enough to it to go as often as I want, so I always get the family feast, especially since I know that it's going to be delicious and notdisappoint. Literally the WORST SERVICE I have experienced in Florida. This place is THE WORST. They made us wait to be seated. After seating us, not a single person attended to us. They made sure to seat others. The other servers already started taking orders of people who were seated after us. After waiting 20 mins, we decided to leave. Never ever going back here. I'm really careful when giving a restaurant a review. I would hate to give an unfair review, and I think twice about the things that I say. Famous Dave's, where can I begin? I've been to this restaurant about 3 times in the span of about 6 years. First time, didn't call my attention. The food was okay, but I thought maybe it was something I ordered and I decided to give it another try. Second time I was there, it confirmed that it wasn't good and I wasn't trying it again. I had friends go there and tell me the same thing, they didn't like it. So, for a long time I never went back. Until I decided I had waited a long time, it was a Saturday night and everything else was a long wait, Famous Dave's had a 15 minute wait (I appreciate that) and it was a party of about 8 people, and I decided I'm gonna give them another try. First observation, the table they set up for us was uncomfortably close to the table behind us, it was nearly impossible to come in and out of the seats. Then our server came, he was a nice guy but started getting obviously impatient when we were getting decided on what to eat. I didn't say anything to anyone at first, but then my friend pointed it out, so I knew I wasn't the only one who caught on to him. I got the Dave's original burger, some other people got a platter with different meats, a friend got some sausages, someone else just got corn on the cob and some fried yuca, another friend got ribs. The food came out slowly. Very slowly. Some plates were missing certain things, for a long time. The person who got the full rack of ribs, only got a half rack, then the server ended up bringing the other half layer. One of my friends who got a variety of meats, also was supposed to get ribs on his plate yet he didn't get it until literally we were about to leave, the server brought it along with a to-go box. Unbelievable. My burger was mediocre, the fries were stale... Not a little bit stale, very very stale. They tasted like someone else left them over and they just put them back in an air fryer and let them sit out for 5 minutes and then gave it to me. It had the consistency of an eraser. They didn't even have the decency to give me the burger with the lettuce and tomatoes already on it... I had to put it on myself. I don't get it, if I ordered the burger, and didn't say I didn't want those things then they can just not bring it, but why offer it to me then just leave it on the side for me to put it on? No, I don't wanna work, I wanna eat. The taste was okay, wouldn't pay $16 for it. I would much rather enjoy Denny's or Wendy's for much less and much better tasting. The last straw though... I ask our waiter for ranch (by the way at this point our table is having to ask for stuff multiple times since he was forgetting) and he bring two "ranches" and it obviously tasted like blue cheese. I love ranch and hate blue cheese, trust me, I know when it's blue cheese. I tried the other one, same thing. I call him up and very nicely I tell him that he brought blue cheese. He apologized and brought me another one. It was STILL BLUE CHEESE. I was confused at this point.... Does this restaurant not know the difference? Are they making the ranch last longer by mixing it with blue cheese? What's happening? Needless to say, I gave up on asking for it after that. No customer should ever have to experience that "I give up" feeling, considering you're paying for the food and the service. The ONLY reason that I'm giving it 2 stars is because I tried my friends ribs and they were pretty good. I was surprised since everything else I tried was "bleh." Sorry Famous Dave's... I now understand why the wait time was 15 minutes.. I suggest you guys do something about the management, and train your staff a little better. It'll go a long way. I'll be back in another 5 or 6 years. read more
