I been wanting to go back here since they reopen.... the food was good but Let me tell u about the experience it's around 5pm we can in waiting for 10 minutes then I saw a server I ask can we get someone help he says we are short staff we will be with u soon and then I ask the bar is open seating right and he says yes so we went to the bar and found out he was the bartender David shout out to u I understand if u having a bad day but he seems like every other table he was being friendly to and talkative but no us I ask for a soda seems like he forgot went took orders and cleans tables then he saw me he remember and got me that and I order 2 cornbread keep in mind he did a few things wrong never once apologize for it so I waited 20 minutes for my cornbread didn't came I ask for the check he charge me for the bread I told him I never got he say do I still want it still he didn't say sorry for forgetting about it while he bought other people their stuff I told the manager that the service wasn't good he also brush it off....no thank u hopefully David will be better it's not our fault that yall was short staffed and less bad vibes please good bye read more

The worst. Forget to give you whole orders and will let you wait a half hour without saying a word about what's going on. The pike is the worst but I see why there's not many locations. This is the meal that was left in the kitchen on July 4th Yes I was shorted a whole order. They have to do better. I absolutely would not get the brisket sandwich again. Restaurant is in a very nice area across the beautiful Long Beach Convention center! Paid parking across the street but you can have the ticket validated at the restaurant for some discount. I ordered the lunch combo which has a good amount of food. Brisket , rib tips and pork were all ok , but not the best. I have 5 stars because of the excellent service I've got from my server , Pita. Very attentive and quick to response to all of my group's requests! She's very nice and pleasant too! Will probably consider going back again due to the service read more

Upon entry they offered free wings and had a BBQ showdown! We were immediately greeted by the whiskey gals, we got a cool hat each. We walked inside the restaurant and was offered a no wait in bar or 15 min in the restaurant. We took a seat in bar area and had the best server. the indoor and outdoor ambiance was fun, music playing. Looked like outdoor seating was fun for the sun lovers. Wow, burnt ends for appetizer was the best! I was surprised to see that all the meal choices had large portions. So hubby and I shared the smoked turkey, brisket, and pulled pork with corn bread, collard greens and red mashed potatoes. I'm being generous with my rating because the bartender seemed new to the job, possibly even serving in general. He did the best he could but they appear to be struggling. Called on the phone and took forever for them to answer. I finally get my food and I decided to check it and it was missing some items (cornbread). Had to go back and repeat the same process except now nobody was answering the phone. Mind you the closing time is 10 pm and it is still 9 pm. As I'm waiting I'm seeing rats running in the bushes next to me. Finally someone answers the phone and helps me out. This is the SECOND time I've had to wait outside like this for an online order. Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm and they were short staffed. To be fair, the day was super sunny in dead winter of rains so literally everyone was out, and all restaurants in the area appeared busy. Apparently 3-6pm every day they have happy hour. They also now have 59 cent wings so that's what drew us into this place. The patio and bar area is one half of the restaurant, and the other half is sit down. It took us a good 20 min before our order was taken. It took another 30 min for the food and another 20 min to get our check. There was literally one server and the place was full. The waitress (pink hair, forgot her name), was by herself and tried her best. Management - she needs help! Please call more of your staff in to help when you see you are short. I saw NO MANAGEMENT come out to help or acknowledge any of the guests. NOW THE FOOD was outstanding, and our server , no fault of hers) was super stressed and visibly overwhelmed. She also ended up having to make drinks and by the way she made very good drinks. Again management and take note of this ass pink hair at the bar was doing her best and you guys need to send her some help. So back to the food - this is probably the best kept secret for wings at 59 cents per wing (unlimited). The wings are cooked just right and smoked. We ordered the appetizer burnt ends which were way salty and they gave us all of 10 burnt ends for $17. I also ordered the onion straws which came super late. Since it was happy hour some of the appetizers for half price and the drinks were like five bucks. I haven't tasted much of famous Dave's food but the wings were slammin. Super good and fresh and the perfect appetizer. We ordered the 2 person platter and let me say it was very sufficient for three people. The platter comes with brisket, but they had run out so we replaced it with pork. The ribs were juicy and I love their BBQ sauce. The only "complaint" I had was that some of the sides were quite salty. The corn, the muffins, and their fries were all quite salty, and the corn was a little on the mushy side. They're Back! Welcome back guys! So after being gone for a while, Famous Dave's is back at the same location in Long Beach. We visited last night and had a great time! To start we had the Buffalo wings and geez they were delicious, it was like a sweet heat situation that caught me by surprise. I also ordered the Baby Back-N-Meat with Southside rib tips, which were my favorite the baby back ribs was a little hard for my liking. For my sides I had beans with macaroni and cheese the beans were absolutely delicious and the corn bread. As far a service goes with them just being back there was room for improvement however nothing major, everyone pitched in and helped out when needed the manager stopped by to see how everything was going so that's a great sign. I visited for the first time on a Saturday night, and was a little concerned about having to wait for a table, because it was Saturday night. However, I was very surprised to see the place was almost empty. No wait at all. So yay, we got seated right away. The no waiting was the only good part. The service was bad. The waitress never refilled our water, didn't ask us if we wanted another drink, didn't ask if we wanted dessert, nor asked how we were doing. We had to ask someone walking by for water and boxes for our food. The women's restroom was a mess. No toilet paper, no toilet seat covers. The sweet tea is VERY good here, and you get a refill. Slight problem, when you get the refill, they bring you a different batch. I went in today, Saturday around 4:30 to eat with my finance, the restaurant was not busy. The host was not welcoming at all, the table was dirty and it took them a few minutes to come to the table. We walked in, there was nobody there at the front, we waited, a waitress walked by, said, "someone will be with You soon." Another five minutes later, the host comes to the front, by now there are three parties waiting behind us. He gave us a look, like we were interrupting his break, and how dare we! Another ten minutes, and up to five employees standing around the front counter, when we finally got seated. My fiancée picked the restaurant, and when that happens, I keep quiet and take what comes. Had it been my choice of restaurant, I would have walked out at 240 seconds of not even being acknowledged. The food was ok. Not amazing. But ok. Definitely not worth the wait. Did I mention the Restraunt looked to be about 25% capacity. Wonder how long the wait is when and if they actually get busy. Our waiter recognized and apologized for the long wait times, for the appetizers, the long wait time for the food, and we appreciated it. Will not return. Too many excellent places just in that area to go eat at, as well as recommend, to go and put up with this again. Good luck to them. There is an up charge for a drink and dessert. Parents, check the menus before you let the kids order these things.
