What a disappointment! EVERY year, my parents come in town and we have made it an annual tradition with family to spend our Christmas celebration at Farina's and Downtown Grapevine. I called a couple weeks prior to make sure we could lock in a table in the super decorated and festive private room. I let the girl know we eat in the same place every year and set it for 5:30. She said we could be in the special room with no issues. Upon arrival, we were poorly greeted by a brunette woman that has terrible customer service. We arrived 50 minutes early because my 1 and 3 year olds were hungry so we just wanted to check to see if the table was ready. She informed us a private party had the room so it wouldn't be ready until 5:30... Understandable. We hung out and waited until the last couple lingering people walked out. At 5:00, the room was empty so we let the hostess know that we were ready whenever they were for us to at least sit down. She said they needed to make sure it was cleaned up even though all tables are completely empty. About 10 minutes later, she walked out holding her coat and was gone. I went to check the room we requested and it was dark so I asked a waitress if we could sit down... she said they will not be seating anyone in that room and it is closed. I told her we have been waiting for 30 minutes already because the other girl said we had to wait for it to clear, plus had a reservation. She said, "Oh well she's new and doesn't know... that's why she left." We asked if we could please sit in there because we called ahead and it's our annual tradition and she said no. So after waiting over 30 minutes for nothing, we had to try to go somewhere else and everything was at least a 45 minute wait. With starving children, we didn't have the option to wait that long so we had to leave our Grapevine tradition and drive somewhere that we could find with a table. We are so sad that a tradition we wanted to have forever had to come to an end. Also, the special Christmas room was barely decorated like other years. Maybe the owners are new or something but everything, including the customer service, was awful! We will miss the old experiences we had! ***UPDATE*** Stephanie is an ABSOLUTE GEM and Farina's needs to never lose her! She called me personally and gave the most heartfelt and extensive apology that I have ever had from a business! Thank you, Stephanie!!! You are magnificent at customer service and we appreciate you! Our foursome stopped in for a drink on a busy Grapevine Saturday. Four or five employees indicated we could sit anywhere'. My wife returned from the women's room and told the only employee now in sight that the ladies room needed attention and that there appeared to be vomit in the only sink. We proceeded to order drinks and waited for someone to bring them but the staff had disappeared after we walked in. For the next 20 minutes, as I waited for my beer to appear I watched 3 other women complain about the restroom condition and each time the complaint was met with a nod and comment about how they were on it. We left an hour later with the restroom in the same condition and my wife in disbelief. Can't believe a business can operate this way and expect to be successful. We won't be back and will inform all we know about our experience. Good luck. read more

This place almost got a 5 star. The staff are friendly but not attentive AT ALL. The drinks were great. The food was so flavorful. My husband got penne pesto pasta and it was so creamy. My kids got tomato soup and spaghetti and meatballs that were flavored so well. I got an Italian salad that had way too many olives but delicious. read more

Saturday night. I wanted historic downtown grapevine and the boyfriend wanted Italian. So one quick google search and we found Farina's. Boy am I glad we did. We walked in and the host greeted us with the best smile and sat us immediately. Let's just say that smile set the tone for the entire evening. We were then greeted by our waitress and she asked what we would like. We are both very new to wine and told her what we liked and she hit it right on the head. Both glasses were absolutely delicious. I really wish I could remember her name she was amazing and of course always smiling. So before we even ordered our dinner we were introduced to the owner Will. Y'all he was so nice. He talked with us some about the joys of wine. We felt very welcomed and immediately right at home. So we ordered our food. We had the meatballs as and appetizer they were really good and the sauce is Devine. We both got soup he had the tomato basil and I had the sausage potato. Y'all they were so delicious. So for my main dish I had the white fish with grilled asparagus with penne, pasta, and a pesto sauce. So yummy the fish was cooked perfectly. Richard had the chicken Alfredo. It was really good he especially enjoyed the peppers. Really amped up the flavor. All in all our dinner was 5 stars. Ok let talk vibes for a minute. This place looks so cute and just a chill vibe. They had a band playing and everything was just super fun. We really enjoyed our night. On the way out we spoke to Will again super friendly man. My BFF and I decided to brave it and get out of the house for a patio lunch. Farina's patio is open and we made a reservation. We were seated right away and were relieved to see the proper social distancing and precautions being taken. We order a couple of glasses of wine and perused the menu. My friend decided to be healthy and try the grilled tilapia off the specials menu. It came with a house salad beforehand which she loved, and was served with fresh grilled veggies and penne. She said it was awesome and very flavorful. I ordered the margarita flatbread and it was delicious!!! It was loaded with fresh tomatoes and fresh basil. I devoured it!! We declined dessert and just hung out on the patio since it was a beautiful spring day. I would definitely recommend this for anyone. It would fit for a date or a family. I brought a large party of international visitors to Farina's for dinner last night. All the guests enjoyed the food very much, as did I, but I was absolutely bowled over by the level of service Megan and the rest of the staff provided. Though we were half an hour late for our reservation (hard to drag them out of the mall on time), the staff was ready with a warm welcome. Megan was especially kind when it came to accommodating special requests and was exceedingly patient in explaining and speaking slowly so they could understand. It was a lovely experience for them and a nice ending for their trip to the United States. Thank you, Farina's, for having people like Megan to take care of your guests. read more

The food was hands down amazing the service on the other hand was not good at all. Our waitress never came by to check on how we liked the food, asked if we needed anything or to clear our plates. I attended a gathering here with family and was very disappointed. The atmosphere is great, but the wait staff and food were not. I purchased two glasses of wine; that I had to go to the bar and get myself, and was charged gratuity on my bill. My two glasses of wine went from $22 to $28.58. That is a tip of over 25%. Also, my husband and I were never even offered water. Thankfully, my aunt let me drink hers. The food was terrible. The chicken alfredo reminded me of a Lean Cuisine frozen entree I used to eat 20 yrs ago. It consisted of mushy penne pasta and watered down alfredo sauce. The dessert was Chocolate Khalua cake. It was a store bought chocolate pound cake with frosting on top, Hershey's chocolate syrup, and a dab of whipped cream, no Khalua. This is a typical overpriced tourist restaurant on main. read more

Went here for dinner with some friends. They had live music which was good but the music was so loud for the space it was in I could not even have a conversation with the person next to me. I had the Cheese Bread $5.95 to start which was just okay, very simple. I got a Side Caesar $3.50 which was okay but nothing special, kind of small. I had the Spaghetti Pizza $12.95 add italian sausage $0.95. The crust is thin and crispy, I thought it was unique but just alright. Definitely needed the added meat. My previous review mentioned our disappointment in the wine at farina's. While I still do not think that Farina's should be labeled as a winery, we did thoroughly enjoy our lunch there on Saturday. My hubby ordered the chicken Alfredo, my in-laws each had lasagna and I ordered the turkey sandwich. The pasta dishes came with a house salad. We were all blown away by the salad. It was delicious! My sandwich was also delicious. I liked that they put a layer of cream cheese on top of the turkey. I would definitely eat here again. read more

The good: the place is conveniently located on Main Street, and decor in the main area of the restaurant it's really nice. Food was very tasty, although it was slightly burned. The ambience was really nice, they take reservations, and we did not have any waiting time. They have a good selection of wine. They have a fairly varied menu from salads, to pasta, and pizzas. Price per person was about $30, including a bottle of Prosecco. The not so good: we had a party of 6, and they sat us in a private room completely isolated (it doesn't sound bad right?) well... servers were hard to spot, and there was no music at all, it seem like a complete different restaurant. The brought Prosecco (which was actually really good, Ti Amo) with regular wine glasses (which is a no no, specially if you are in a winery. We ordered an appetizer that never came (and they were not that busy). We had to request Parmesan cheese and Garlic bread (in a Italian restaurant, I know right?. Space in the bathrooms is limited, although the have two, the smallest one (not the wheelchair accesible) I could not put my feet in front of the toilet. The verdict: if you are in the area, and you are craving Italian food, it's actually not a bad option. Hopefully you will have better luck than us! read more

Preparing for our holiday festivities in downtown Grapevine this week, I tried several different restaurants to see if they were taking reservations. None of them were. I get it, but it stressed me out: I was going to have 4 hungry young people and 2 crotchety older folks (one of those might have been me; dunno) getting hangry. We tried another Italian restaurant on Main St. We were told the wait would be 45 minutes, and that the restaurant would be closing about 25 minutes after we sat down. (They reiterated their closing time to me *several times* during our interaction; again, I get it. But still.) We wandered back up Main, and on a whim I popped into Farina's to see what their situation was. There was about a 10 minute wait, and they were open until 10. Perfect!! We were seated pretty quickly, and had the best service!! I've been coming to Farina's for years, and have always had excellent service and wonderful food. This trip was no different. The young people loved their food, and us old far--uh, folks enjoyed ours as well. (HINT: get the Kahlua cake with ice cream!!) Came here over the weekend with friends. Its got a great location in downtown Grapevine, theres a lot of cute shops around it, but the parking will be kind of difficult on the weekend. We made a reservation before we came in and were seated as soon as we walked in the door. My best friend and I found this restaurant and were really excited to try the spaghetti pizza so we decided to make a night out of it. To start out with, we had cheese bread for our appetizer and were given complimentary bread, which was okay. The dipping sauce tasted like marinara right out of a jar. I ordered the spaghetti pizza and added meatballs for my entrée. The meatballs are just put on top, and aren't sauced at all and are very bland. The pizza by itself is pretty good, but the meatballs kinda ruined it for me. My husband ordered the baked lasagna (which mind you is $18) and said that hes had TV dinner lasagna better than from here. It was really disappointing to hear that he didn't enjoy it for as much as it costs. The menu had a good amount of stuff on it, but none of us really enjoyed our meals as much as we thought we would. I have no clue how this spot doesn't have a high average rating. My girlfriend and I were visiting from Miami and overheard wonderful live music from the outside. We walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar. The staff was so welcoming and the wine selection was pretty impressive. We ordered lasagna and chatted up with a lovely server Angel. I've been going to farina's for years. The New half owner, He is very nice. But The waitress at the bar Matilda had absolutely no social skills, no personality Very initiative to customers needs. We Had to ask several times for simple things such as salt and pepper, napkin and silverware. The owner came over at one point to the bar and it was the only time she had one ounce of personality. The location is great, right downtown Grapevine. We were looking for a spot to eat with gluten free options (and some wine obviously) before a movie down the street. With the amount of amazing options in downtown Grapevine, I'm not sure Farina's would be my choice again. I was super happy they had gluten free pizza crust, having options is great! It was a fine pizza, if not a little expensive. What really got me was the wine selection. They have their own wine which wasn't very great, the rosé on special was super sweet, and I just felt it was hard to get a decent glass of wine here, which is a huge shame for a place in downtown Grapevine. Recently stopped by after work to grab a glass of wine. Bartender informed me their house Farina's Red Blend was the best. After sharing the pour with three other people we all concluded possibly the bottle of wine wine was a couple days old so the bartender opened another bottle and poured me a fresh glass. Heads up: The Farina's Red Blend is surprising dry for a blend, tart, slightly fruity, tannin. Each person has their on taste for wine. This red blend was a surprise! read more
