My boyfriend and I used to love coming to Farmer Boys and would visit several times a month. We live a good 30 minutes away and would make the drive since there is no closer location. We came to this location on 12/30/23 at 8:50 pm and the lobby was closed. There was a sign on the door that only drive through was open. We were pretty upset that we drove 30 minutes and couldn't dine in. We didn't want to do drive through since that would've been another 30 minute drive home and food would have been cold. We eneded up driving a few more miles to the E Valley Pkwy location. We ended up emailing corporate after the experience to file a complaint. The person we spoke with said the lobby at the location we visited is supposed to always be open until 10 pm so she is not sure why it was closed. She said she was going to forward our complaint and we would hear back from someone else. After no follow up for over a week, we called again on 1/12/24. After getting the run around and no resolution, my boyfriend called the location and spoke with the assistant manager Rocio Hernandez. She did say that sometimes they close the lobby an hour early but drive through is open. I get it you want to probably clean early and leave right at 10, but that is being lazy and is affecting your customers. She didn't understand that it was an inconvenience for us to drive 30 minutes away and the lobby be closed and we still had to drive another few more miles to another location. Clearly Farmer Boys and their management does not care. I will not be going to any more locations and will be taking my business elsewhere. *Funny how after visiting the other location, their sign on the wall says: "We never cut corners when it comes to treating folks right." read more

Stopped in for the first time in years....was early so breakfast it was! I Used the drive-thru so I can't comment on the interior. Drive-thru was clean and organized...which I find is standard for the Farmer Boys I've ever visited. I ordered the two egg sandwich with bacon and a side of hash browns. The sandwich I'm rating on my scale which is pretty tough....the sandwich had way too much egg and I'm not sure why they call it a two egg sandwich when the eggs are clearly not eggs they crack and make....these are obviously the container type and as usual they slop on a heaping blob of yucky container eggs....the first thing I did was strip most of that glob off and put it back together...it was good after that. Guys quit with the more is better approach....it's not a winner. Go back to real eggs inside the shell or die a slow and miserable death just like what's been happening since you made the switch. People please....wake up! Quality over quantity. Maybe you offer it but put the other bread options on the outdoor menu....and IF it's there....let's make it clear. I had the chicken avocado sandwich on sourdough with bacon. It was a combo which included fries and a drink. The fries were perfect. It was exactly how you imagine a french fry should be with a crispy outer shell and steaming soft potato mash on the inside. Nothing was too salty or "too" anything else. The sand bread was toasted lightly and not at all greasy. The chicken was tender and juicy and nicely contrasted with the crunchy bacon slices. The flavors were balanced, and there was enough food to make you full but not overly stuffed. I didn't feel guilty for eating the entire meal. Hubby had the bacon burger with cheese. A great place to get a sit down meal, with great tasting ingredients, but at a faster speed. This is not "fast food". I like that you can get breakfast all day, and you could order lunch or dinner entrees in the morning. Sometimes you need French toast for dinner, or a club sandwich for breakfast. This location is in a kind of industrial area of Escondido, but nearby to lots of housing as well. Whenever I'm in there it seems to be a mix of working guys on their lunch, and big groups of families. I'm not surprised, since they have the "kids eat free" promotions on certain days. I now go out of my way, all the way across town to this location. The quality at Andreas's restaurant is far superior to the E. Valley location. I had several quality issues with the other location, and prefer to drive way across town instead. I also like that Farmer Boys is committed to quality. They recently were unhappy with the quality of their avocados, so they took them off the menu until they could get them back up to their usual standards. This is far better than the other restaurant chain, that recently served me rotten avocado on my order! The patties were a good size and cooked well - very juicy and flavorful. The burger was seriously so much food. The onion rings I got were such a disappointment. They advertise "colossal" onion rings, and they were definitely huge, however they were a strange orange color and also had no seasoning at all? It was not even salty. We went pretty late after an event close by. Only the drive thru was open but it wasn't so bad. We love stopping at the Farmer Boys on the way up and/or back from LA and they never disappoint. We always have a nice meal here. We normally use the drive up but today we ate inside and it was so pleasant. The service was really friendly, accurate and the dining room is spotless. It was quiet and there's lots of parking. The food is excellent although I'm guilty of ordering pretty much the same two items - California omelet and crispy chicken sandwich. This cheeseburger junkie gives her stamp of approval. I have heard of Farmer Boy's but didn't know that the menu was as extensive as it was. I truly thought it was your basic fast food joint but loved the whole country restaurant feel and that it's more of a casual sit down place. Very warm hospitality is served up here which I always appreciate...super friendly and kind. While my heart ultimately belongs to The Friendly, Farmer Brother's cheeseburger was pretty darn tasty served up with crisp fries. Although I did swipe a few fried zucchini off of the co-habby's plate which I much preferred...only because I love fried zucchini. Delish! Everything came out quickly and was nice and fresh.
