They remind me of the crispy fries Carls Jr made back in the 1980s before they changed the recipe. The BBQ burger deal was $9.99 with fries and drink. Burger was 9/10. Love that they serve breakfast all day. At 4pm, I ordered 3-egg breakfast, lol. It came with sausage, hash brown, whole wheat toast. Solid comfort food. The Irvine location is close to airport, is spacious, well maintained. Each table has all the hot sauce and selection of jam or jelly. Service is prompt and staff is friendly. Before the coof hit I drove by this place often, but never went in. Well, my wife and I finally decided to try it and we're so glad we did! Great selection of food, breakfast all day, friendly staff, and the manager (sorry, I never catch his name) is always glad to see you come in, especially now right? The salads are huge, the burgers are really good, the happy hour side choices (when they come back) are well worth it, the current value menu is not bad at all. I usually love Farmer Boys and always go to the one in Brea as it's close to where I live. I really love the fries as they are always fried fresh and are super hot when they are served. Now, I wanted my boyfriend to have the same experience as he had never tried Farmer Boys before. We visited this particular location as it is close to where he lives. The guy at the register was okay, but the fries..They were not fried fresh. We got the food and tried the fries as soon as we got into our car which took less than a minute. Farmer boys is not commonly talked about like other fast food spots but y'all are missing out. There's not many locations but when I'm craving a hearty Cobb salad, this is my spot! I usually order it with crispy chicken instead of the grill, and top it with blue cheese dressing. You can order it ANY time of the day even if it's 7AM, which is great. This is one of the nicest FB's I've ever been too! I had been trying to get to this one for awhile but wasn't sure where it was located, as we aren't on that side of town as much. It is a bummer that they aren't a drive thru. BUT.. inside is so nice and clean! Even though the inside was shut down for indoor dining, the restaurant itself is clean! One of my favorite chains for breakfast and dinner when I travel up and down central California. Every location I've visited for a quick meal, between Bakersfield to Modesto, is consistent and well managed. Definitely can count on fresh ingredients and solid preparation every time, from their salad bowls to breakfast burritos, all very tasty and fulfilling. The zucchini fries are a guilty pleasure here, but worth the extra calories... each fry is the size of a large cigar so knife and fork is needed to manage the treat. Had a craving for chili cheese fries and stopped in at this spot for the first time to get an order. Happily, I got my cravings satisfied and a great deal. This location is currently offering a happy hour deal on a few items from 2pm to 5pm. We started ordering from Farmer Boys during the pandemic lockdown. Food quality and packaging was good. But in the past year, there is one constant. You don't often get what you ordered. First I ordered fish and chips, but got three pieces of fish, no "chips" aka french fries. Then I ordered a chicken sandwich, got a cheeseburger. Tonight I order a grilled chicken BBQ salad, but it comes not with grilled chicken but some old dried up stale tasting over breaded chicken. So I call, mistake, and I get told thats what I ordered. So I look up the receipt and it says "grilled chicken". Okay, so basically you get what they want to send out, and if you call to ask why the order isn't right, well, your wrong. I work down the street, so this was bound to be a lunch time spot within walking distance. I ate hear with a complete open mind and unbiased approach. I only now decided to look at reviews while searching for a pick up order function. Totally thrown off by the low rating and dis-approving reviews. Bought the farmer boy burger and chili fries. They give you a stick with a number and you take ur seat. Open fountain drinks for unlimited refills. It's definitely social hr in this place during lunch time. A lot of coworkers eating together. Fries came first. They tasted great! They held true to the crispy French fry they advertise. The chili was my favorite. I'm a fan of chili no beans. I ate everything. When the burger came I was a little overwhelmed ! The juicy bacon looked fresh off the grill, sizzling. Avocado taste good. I didn't think I had it in me but I ate the whole thing. The patties looked ok, now thinking about it. I can see why people may be critical about it. But it's not "paper thin" plus the farmer boy comes with two patties. I was stuffed and I enjoyed my refill and walk back to work. I was blown away by my chili fries, honestly they were perfect in my opinion and preference. Much enjoyed my lunch, I look forward to trying the breakfast. Anyways, I think that should be fixed, considering current advancements. The app only shows the menu but no function to place an order. So downloading the app as advertised and not being able to place an order is why you loose a star. Room for improvement as I always say. However, they do offers 5 dollars off your next order when you sign up, so Kudos for the discounts. I really wanted to like this place but, they got my bf's order wrong twice. The second time, they gave him the same wrong order. For my order the "toast" was just bread with a little bit of butter on it. My hash browns were so raw I had to re-cook it at home, and even then it took a long time to actually cook since it was so raw. They did a decent omelette, but were confused on taking an order for bacon and cheese only omelette. I wish I took a picture because this was just bad. :( read more

Came here for lunch during the week because I work nearby. The burgers are great and the fries were definitely crispy. It was very busy when I came, and the line was almost to the door. SUPER SLOW staff and way overpriced food. Takeout is always late and I wait about ten extra minutes each visit. I came early and understood they just opened, but the cooks are casually chatting and taking their time right in front of waiting customers. They say 3 minutes and I watch as the cook slowly greases the area and puts the meat on five minutes later. They don't care about your time and they seem disgruntled. read more

I really like the concept of Farmer Boys, I just really wish they'd pay more attention to detail. For instance, I came for breakfast last week and had asked to have my pancakes to be served on a separate plate (ordered the pancake platter). No problem - the cashier seemed to have typed that request into the notes of my order but as you may expect, pancakes did not arrive to my table on a separate plate. Not a big deal but very easy request from kitchen IMO. Just pay attention to DETAIL!! Also, the pancake syrup is served in packets - I wished they'd provide it in a fashion where it could be served warm. Now I'm here for breakfast again - Ordered the ham & cheese omelet, English muffins toasted well, and hash browns cooked crispy! Again, the cashier seems to be typing these 2 requests into the order. Guess what? English muffins were served soft, almost as if they weren't even toasted. Hashbrowns were served crispy but they weren't hot! Almost as if they had just been sitting on a cold part of the grill - C'mon!! Pay attention to detail! I really want to have good food experiences here but I just wished they'd do things a bit better! I had to ask them to take my order and at which register. Then go to find a table and EVERY empty table if dirty. I had to again ASK for them to be cleaned. The guy comes out and wipes down the trash area then goes and wipes tables!!! OWNER you need to look at your cameras to see what these kids are doing. My order never came. I had to ask for a refund. Golda remembered my partner and I from a previous visit, and she remembered that I was gluten intolerant, so she asked if I wanted a different side instead of toast with my breakfast. I usually love Farmer Boy's. I've eaten at them a lot in the Inland Empire, but when I came to this location is was bad. I ordered a French toast platter ( my favorite) and it was okay. The presentation was bad and that's a big part of it. There was no powdered sugar, the plate was too big for what was on it, the bacon were super small like the ends/ left overs. NOBODY SHOULD BE SERVED THIS. Then my partner got the farmers omelette and it was dry and the hash brown were burnt and tasted old. I felt like I got someone else's food that never turned up to claim it. I can't believe I spent $20 and nothing was good. Let me start out with - John is amazing and needs to be made Employee Of The Month along with a raise. Sorry I couldn't leave a bigger tip, John, but that's all I had on me. And I know not everyone is into spicy food like me but I wish that the hot sauces they had just had a touch more kick to them. The only thing I have a real objection to is on their wall how they say that their meat is hormone and antibiotic free. It's ILLEGAL to sell meat with added hormones and antibiotics. ALL meat sold in America, even the imported meat, is hormone and antibiotic free! So that a bit of scare tactic advertising that ALL companies need to do away with. Farmer Boys just need to be honest about that and instead of advertising that, say "It's illegal to sell meat with hormones and antibiotics.
