    Live Band
    Holly D.

My friends and I were bar hopping on Bourbon Street and stopped into Fat Catz Music Club -- so glad we did! There was a live band playing, and they were fantastic. The atmosphere was energetic and fun, with great music, good vibes, and a lively crowd. Definitely worth popping in for a drink or two if you're out on Bourbon! It's one of those spots that perfectly captures the New Orleans nightlife experience.

Wasn't planning on going here, but the security guard for the spot blocked our path as we were walking on burbon and directed us in. We noticed that he was doing that or dragging people in (jokingly and with good vibes). I appreciate the hustle for doing his job to pack the place. I wouldn't be back though. I got one vodka cran and one water bottle, and it came to over $20. I did choose tito's vodka when asked what vodka to get. On the bill, I was charged for the mixer and $10 for the shot of titos used. The drink was way weaker than competing bars nearby. There was some fun music that involved funky/bluesy covers of crowd favorites. The band was solid and were fun to watch. They sent someone around with a tip bucket about 3 songs into our stay and the crowd thinned significantly (we did choose to tip). Then the security guard got to work filling it back up again. At that point, we decided to dip. Definitely a weird dynamic. Also, the seating was very minimal and the little cocktail tables were wobbly. Overall, I feel like you have a better shot at having value for money and have a good time at one of the many other Burbon St. bar options. It wasn't terrible, but likely won't be back.

Will always stop by here Friday and Saturday to hear the "legends band" blues RnB and a bit of country 12-4pm!! Promise you won't be disappointed at all if you are the dancing and have a good time type of person!!!

Awesome blues venue! Great drinks combined with a dive bar feel without the danger. Bartender was great and very friendly. Love this place and I had one in my town. When visiting NOLA, hit this place!

My husband and I were strolling down Bourbon street Friday afternoon when the security guy waved us over into Fat Catz. We were treated to a fun band and I thought the drummer was incredible. The place was dark and pretty crowded for 4 in the afternoon with everyone enjoying the music. A fun lively atmosphere with good music!

With so many choices up and down the street, it's hard to know where to go. I popped into Fat Catz and had a great time for a while. The music was bluesy/jazzy, I met the band, chatted with the bartender, had drinks.

This security guard grabbed my friend by the wrist and despite her telling "no, I don't want to go in there" over and over, he continued to drag her into the bar. It took me and one other friend to pry her arm out of his grip, and when we did he got in my face. I understand it's their job to lure people into the venue, but this is NOT the way to do it. No means no, and it's men like this that ruin the experience for everyone. If I could give 0 stars, I would. 0/10 would not recommend.

Great venue for fun music, dancing and reasonable drinks! Really enjoyed the band, they really kept the energy up and had people dancing. Quick service for a busy bar and drinks weren't bad - $12 for a Diet Coke and vodka soda.

Everybody loves Fat Catz on Bourbon! Especially on a Friday night. Only on Bourbon will you see a drunk woman hanging out of an Uber while smoking a J and the cops say nothing! *I was in shock for the first hour* lol Good times

This was probably my favorite night club we visited. No cover charge too. The band was so talented and played some awesome classic rock hits ranging from AC/DC to Billy Idol to Bon Jovi. My husband and I were totally in our element here! Mix of all ages too. The bartenders are also really nice and efficient. It was packed when we visited and I didn't have to wait longer than like 3 minutes for a drink. PLUS the drinks are GOOD! Not watered down like other bars in the area. You def get your monies worth. The bathrooms also have attendants which is a nice perk. If I am ever in NOLA again I will totally make sure I stop by Fat Catz!

On a previous trip we had seen an evening show at Snug Harbor and wanted to experience something else. We had read good things about the Spotted Cat and their sets run all afternoon. We were a little confused about price because one of our guidebooks said there is no cover but you're supposed to order drinks. There was a doorman who charged us something like $5 each (still cheap!) and we ordered beer and a N/A drink at the bar and listened to a great jazz group playing old-time jazz. Interior is tiny and you're pretty close to the performers. We were standing at first but eventually found some seats as people left. There is even a back courtyard if you want to be outside, although I don't know if you can hear the music or not. We bought a CD from the band and enjoyed it when we got back home. All in all, a great New Orleans experience.

Overall had a nice time enjoying the music!

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. We had such a great time sitting at the bar that my wife and I each finished two and a half Sazeracs, which tells you everything you need to know.

The presentation of the food came was amazing. We ordered the linguine and added meatballs, which was well worth it. We also ordered the shrimp & grits, which included Brussels sprouts. Boy, it was sure nice to get some vegetables in my stomach after eating all that yummy fried food during our stay! All in all, both dishes were delicious. It is a little on the pricey side, but after several days of eating in the touristy area of the French Quarter, this was truly a welcome change. Service was polite and attentive. I always appreciate the staff's efforts by making simply making eye contact and smiling (which they did). Seems trivial but I think those small things says a lot about a business. The ambiance is amazing, plus velvet, emerald and sapphire tone, glitzy, and feels like a good photo op. The bar and cocktail menu looked expansive. However, I was going to be hopping on a meeting, so I could not partake, unfortunately. A group got this impressive tower of espresso martini and everyone seemed to be enjoying their drinks! I wanted that New Orleans seafood but had late lunch, so I opted for just the crispy gulf shrimp on cheesy grits. I really wished I can hungrier because the dish ended up being very heavy. The shrimp were nice and crispy. The charred Brussels sprouts gave me the false sense that this was a healthy dish because I was getting my veggie intake. The bacon jam was sweet and went well with the Brussels sprouts. I loved the combination of the cheesy grits and the Crystal hot sauce. It was the perfect amount of both and some how led me to understand why Americans put hot sauce on their Mac n cheese and some other cheesy dishes after 30 years of not really understanding the attraction to that combo. I got the marinated olives to go so I could have a little snack later. They were just stuff I feel I could get in a jar... not really sure if I could justify the price. I think this is a fine place if you're looking for a photogenic night out drinking with a group of friends. Could be really cute for brunch!
