We saw a happening crowd there when we went out to dinner a few weeks ago. My wife saw the seafood in the window and was set on trying it. After reading outstanding reviews, we had to try the place. We grabbed the kids on their last day of school and headed over for lunch. The restaurant and restroom were very clean. The service was outstanding. Our server KB was very attentive and accommodating. The other staff who we interacted with were very friendly too. I have visited the fat crab in Harrow several times and whilst the food has always been great the service left something to be desired with each visit I would have to get up from the table to find the servers to ask for more drinks, napkins, etc. we were always told they couldn't seat us even though we could see half of the restaurant was empty. on this occasion I booked a table for a special occasion several days in advance to avoid the above experience. the booking was long, complicated and eventually confirmed online as I was never able to speak to anyone as they didn't answer the phones. whilst driving to the restaurant for our reserved time we were called to say we didn't pay a deposit (which was never requested) and other parties did so our table was given to them. whilst I was very disappointed in this I did not want it to ruin our special occasion so offered to pay, sit cramped on a smaller table and come later. all of which was denied. they kept talking about other customers willingness to pay high deposits and being prioritised over us. this was disgusting behavior and completely ruined our evening. I will never return to this restaurant and I will ensure my friends and family all know that they were not interested in anything but money, no customer care at all which is reflected in all of the reviews I have seen. it is a real shame as I always want to support local businesses but I would rather pay £1000 at another restaurant than return to the Fat Crab in Harrow. read more

However, they only have ranch dressing as an option for salad dressings, which sticks those unable to eat dairy (ie buttermilk ranch) with a dry salad they have to pack up and just take home to dress up. The service... was acceptable the first day but the following day, let's say service could use a bit of improvement with a little focus on the customer.
