I don't understand why there aren't more restaurants like Fat Frogg. Simple food done well, great beer selection, and good prices. If I lived in Alamance County or went to Elon, I'd be here several times a week. I ate here with my folks, and we all ordered their "Fat Frogg" one pound burger. All of their burgers are made fresh, cooked to order, and topped with fresh toppings. My jalapeno/grilled onion/sauteed mushroom/pepper jack burger was delicious. The homemade chips are a delicious complement to the tasty burgs, and the portion is generous. We accompanied our lunch with an order of fried pickles... nice a crunchy, not overly fried. The dessert was the kicker: deep-fried Oreos. Again, not disgustingly fried or greasy, perfectly sweet (with an added touch of cinnamon) and served with a scoop of cookies and cream ice cream. Heaven. They also have several craft beers on tap and more in bottles, all at very reasonable prices. And the atmosphere makes it a fantastic place to grab a burger and a beer with your buds or your family. Great stuff.

If you like fried southern bar food and ambiance, this is the hick joint to visit. Customer service is excellent. The owner is friendly and the location seems to bring a large crowd on Friday nights tthat wear rhinestone jeans and camo to hide their beer bellies. Decent.

I think the cook was asleep at the stove! 45 minutes to wait ( in an empty restaurant) for a burger & fries. Will not be back!

Friendly service and great food. The bison burger is awesome. It was cooked to perfection, not overcooked like some places.

Very middle of the road. Mimosas are WEAK! Solid hangover food. Not terrible, but nothing to write home about.

We made same day reservations a few hours in advance because we figured it would get crowded with Elon parents visiting their kids. I'm glad we did because it was packed 15 minutes after we sat down. Hostess was kind with greeting us and sat us down right away when we arrived. My husband ordered the shrimp & grits and I ordered the pancakes with sausage. Food came within 15 minutes. The pancakes were fluffy and the sausage was nicely cooked. Service was great and one of the servers made sure to keep my water glass filled. The Mark at Elon is very pretty inside. They have a private parking lot outside reserved for Inn guests and we were able to park there because we were at the restaurant. I would recommend this place if you have guests in town and want something slightly nicer than your typical breakfast diner. They do serve lunch and dinner here too, but I can't speak on that food just yet. I'll have to return to try it out!

I went early one Saturday morning before the rush (crowds were appearing by the time we left at 9:30a) and were quickly seated in a booth by the window with lots of natural light. The restaurant was clean and well appointed with modern rustic decor and our waitress was super attentive and friendly. I did a bit of research before ordering to only order the most popular dishes in hope of making some memories this time around. I ordered the morning meditation juice which was a perfect mix of their fresh squeezed orange juice, lemon juice, beet juice, turmeric, ginger and agave nectar. Perfect way to start my morning in the sunlight. For my main breakfast entree I got the lemon ricotta pancakes which came with 2 HUGE pancakes the size of the plate. Even though the lemon curd appeared to be a dollop, it was enough for the whole dish since the lemon was very prominent to the point syrup was not needed. The berries were fresh and the pancakes were cooked to perfection (soft with lightly crispy edges). I also enjoyed a hot cup of table side coffee with my drink. I drink it black so I found the plain coffee to have a nice flavor and wasn't bitter at all. Now the million dollar bacon ehhhh.... I heard someone ask if they were thick, not at all. I found the honey to overpower the other seasonings so it was just basic bacon with honey in my opinion. Not worth the almost $7 price tag or the million in the name. If I am in the mood for a solidly good fresh breakfast in a nice atmosphere I'll be sure to stop by, but I wouldn't wait longer than 15 minutes for it.

My husband and I stopped in on a Thursday evening around 7pm and the place was pretty full. We sat ourselves at a table in the back room, and I noticed how laid back the place was, which is something I really appreciate. Sadly, it seemed that the relaxed vibe extended a bit too far and reflected on their cleanliness, as I noticed all of the chair rails were dusty, the floors a bit littered, our table sticky, and the plastic menus in need of replacing. Service, however, was wonderful. Our waitress was friendly and pretty attentive given how busy she was. My husband was happy with their on tap beer selection, deciding on Red Oak ($3 on Thursdays!). I went with a margarita and it wasn't the best, but thankfully I didn't pay much for it since it was also on special. They were out of the southwestern egg rolls I initially ordered, so I ended up going with the Philly cheesesteak and homemade chips. I enjoyed the cheesesteak's fresh bread; plenty of tender meat, peppers, and onions; and gooey cheese. It could have used more mayonnaise, but it was still quite good. The homemade chips were tasty but undercooked; if I had been hungrier, I definitely would have returned them and asked for a fresh batch. My husband absolutely devoured the cheeseburger and fries he ordered. He said that it was one of the best burgers he's had in quite a while, and this is a guy who loves burgers and eats them often. I want to return to Piedmont Ale House in the future. I think there are some things they seem to do really well, namely burgers and beer at really reasonable prices!
