It's sad to say, but this place is going downhill. It used to have the absolute BEST Clam Chowder on Fridays, and the most AMAZING Sandwiches. Always happy very friendly people working there, usually so many people working that even though they were busy, people were flying out the door with their food. NOW, it is a whole different story. It wasn't even as crowded as it used to be, but took over 45min to get a grilled cheese sandwich and some Clam Chowder. The atmosphere was not the same as it used to be. Most of the employees looked like they would rather be anywhere else. Which showed in the food. Their once amazing Clam Chowder is now a bowl of the blandest potato soup I have ever had. I had to pour in salt and pepper just to have some flavor. I was thin and watery. In the entire bowl there was 2 clams and 1 piece of celery to go with the cup of potatoes. At least the potatoes were filling because the grilled cheese sandwich left a lot to be desired. It wasn't burnt, it was cooked perfectly, but the sub par ingredients used led to a thin dry sandwich that was hard as a rock before I got to my destination and opened the wrapper. The fact that they forgot to give me my soup spoon and crackers was just icing on the cake. I believe that there is something going on in the upper management of this place as it appears from the ouside that those working there are still trying to put out a great product and want to believe that their stuff is still good, but what they are given to work with is so sub standard that this is the best they can do. Nice selection on menu Tomato basil soup little salty CAUTION: Unless you really really really like mustard tell them lite on the mustard. My Italian sandwich and my wife's pastrami sandwich was slathered in mustard. Our food was literally mustard sandwiches. I can't believe we only got two sandwiches and a cookie and somehow walked out of there paying over $40.. got into the car, unwrapped the sandwich and the first thing I noticed was there was no way I was going to be able to get my mouth around the whole thing.. so I just wrapped it up and decided when I got home I would figure out how to attack it. So when I got home, I unwrapped it and took it apart to see if I rebuilt it, maybe I could actually eat it and that's when I noticed the subpar components of the sandwich. I got a turkey club, the turkey was supposed to be sliced, it was 100% shredded.. like the pieces that are left when they use all the rest of the good stuff , there was supposed to be bacon on it.. there was one piece.. the lettuce looked like it had been sitting out for hours (it's only five minutes back to my house) .. the condiments were only on one side of a sandwich... It's just crazy how bad it was considering they make it right there. Next time I'll just go to Subway, it's actually quality food that I can fit in my mouth.. and it's not $40 for two sandwiches. I can't do gluten or dairy so sandwiches are usually a no go for me. I asked about gluten free bread, they don't have it but they offered a lettuce wrap and I'm really happy that I got it! I got an Italian as a lettuce wrap with no cheese (and I think fat guy sauce) it's really good! Probably one of the best lettuce wraps I've had. The hubs got California turkey club and he really enjoyed it as well! Said he loved the sprouts on it. Service was amazing, they were really fast and super knowledgeable on what did and didn't have dairy and gluten. The restaurant has walls that are written on, graffiti style. Cute, cafe style. Will definitely be back if we are in the area! read more

Not very accommodating, didn't have pepper jack cheese, no water cups. After ordering a 15$ sandwich you would think they would let you get a water cup considering it's summer and hot outside. Couldn't substitute for an up charge to get a a bigger drink on a kids meal. The food was good though read more

Walked in and it was busy! Ordered 2 sandwiches and waited over 40 min. Many people waited over 40 plus min and seemed just as frustrated. Poorly managed and this place is going to tank if they don't get it together! Hire more help! Have your people advise customers if it will be an extremely long wait before they place an order! Thought we'd try Fat Guys fresh deli today since we were close and hungry and what a pleasant surprise. Not your average sandwich that's for sure. The sandwich I got was just huge and was cut in half for my dinner it was so good. I will absolutely go back to try others. I had the California turkey club and it was delicious. Pregnant me would kill for crisp lettuce, fresh deli meat, and some blue cheese dressing! On lunch I swung by Fat Guys Fresh Deli to pick up a Chefs Salad. I was stoked until I opened the container to find every piece of spinach was disgusting. CLEARLY the spinach was bad and all of it should have been thrown away but instead they put it in my salad anyway and charged me $14. This is why capitalism rules - I will gladly vote with my dollar anywhere else and tell others to do the same. read more

I have been hearing about the sandwiches and had to have a try. The place is a very cool, garage-like vibe, almost like a "hanging out with the guys" kind of place. We walked in with obvious wonderment and cluelessness. They noticed immediately and one of the team members broke it all down for us: people who leave with any leftover sandwich must sign the floor of shame and anyone who eats a challenge sandwich gets a picture and a wall to sign. The sandwich craftsmen were very vocal about the options and their favorites, which created a fun experience from the start. We opted to go the standard sandwich route and ordered the Thic Chick for me, hubby had the Turkey Melt. One word to the wise....substitutes requests are frowned upon unless it's an allergy or dietary restriction...this is not Subway! It was a pretty busy lunch service but food came out relatively quickly. The Thic Chick is a magnificent stack of chicken, bacon, pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, pepperoncini, mayo and honey garlic sauce. The chicken was juicy, dripping with juice level, yet all the flavors slightly compete for dominance with each bite. At times I was wondering where the pepper jack cheese was, the next was wondering where the honey garlic sauce was. The pepperoncini stole the show a bit and definitely brought this sandwich to the spicy side (I did not ask for spicy, so I can't imagine what spicy level would get to!). Overall it's a great sandwich, just some internal struggle is going on that I can't quite put a finger on. The red potato salad was very lightly dressed, which I would have appreciated a tad more dressing, but was incredibly flavorful with a nice bacon essence. Hubby had the turkey melt and loved every bite. The sandwiches are very filling so you most definitely get what you pay for. I admit, I usually take half my sandwich home but for fear of writing on the floor, I shoved it all down. Eager to go back and try other sandwiches! read more

This place gets addicting so watch yourself or you'll join 'em in their title! I have tried a lot, and they're all fantastic but I keep returning to the Thic Chic. It's just so packed full of amazing flavor and the portions are perfect in case you want to limit yourself and have seconds later. Every time we're in the area, we have to stop and grab a sandwich. Even if it's not meal time, we bring one home for later. Staff is always so friendly and helpful. We also appreciate the clean environment as well. read more

I am a DoorDasher and I picked up food from there and this gentleman said that they could not put the product in bags because that was for customers, I should have my own bag. I looked at him and said , so you're telling me that these people that just ordered this food is not a customer.. And he told me that I needed to bring my own bag in to carry out the food. I definitely related that to my customer. I believe the bag that they put the food in may have costed a penny so they were out that penny versus what they charge for their overpriced menu items. It's Giving TV Dinner... On Bread I don't even know where to start. I ordered the Thick Chick expecting some kind of fresh, juicy chicken sandwich, and what I got was--no joke--a microwaved TV dinner cutlet shoved between a stale bun. You can literally taste the freezer burn. The bread was soggy like someone defrosted it in the microwave, and the chicken had that weird rubbery texture that only frozen meals can achieve. There was a sad smear of sauce trying to cover it up, but all it did was make it messier. I didn't pay $12.99 to eat something I could've heated up in my own microwave for $1.50. Fat guys put every BLT in history to shame, they stack that bacon high! And they have the best pastrami in town for sure! I've had probably 2/3 of the sandwiches on the menu and haven't been let down yet. You definitely get what you pay for here - lots of meat and tons of flavor. The atmosphere is light-hearted and fun. If you're hungry or in a food-funk, go in and they'll take care of you. If you're a Karen/Ken, nobody can help you anyway so whatevs. read more

Good service, nice place but the bean soup was so salty I couldn't eat it. The sandwich (beef and blue cheese) was OK but had so much sauce on it that it was over powering and you better have plenty of napkins. I finally scraped most off. read more

Yesterday, my significant other and I were in the Caldwell location. We walked in, there was no staff up front and we weren't greeted because the staff was too busy being berated, cussed out, and yelled at by their manager in a meeting, which was visible and audible to customers. It was the most unprofessional, disgusting show of management I've ever witnessed. One young lady left the meeting to come and take our order. She was unsure of what to do, so instead of making our food right away, she took our order, went back to the meeting, then came back to make our food once they were done being criticized (and not constructively I might add). On top of that, the employee was so stressed afterward, she forgot the ham in our sandwich. I understand employees may sometimes have to be reminded of certain policies and procedures or even reprimanded for certain actions, but the way the manager went about it was uncalled for. Very unprofessional. I feel for their employees :) I won't be going back. read more
