Nice spot with both indoor and outdoor dining with a Harbor View. We had the calamari appetizer and a couple of draft beers. The bottom filler tap for the draft beer was pretty neat. read more

The fish and chips here were really good when I tried them months ago. I don't recommend the fried chicken sandwich! There was seriously about 6 inches (or more!) of difficult to eat bread on that. Couldn't even eat it. They could just use a regular bun and it would be edible. The fried chicken was all batter with minimal chicken. One of the worst I've ever had. The drinks were tasty but weak- after three cocktails we barely had a buzz going. I want to like this place and will try again but definitely don't get that chicken sandwich! And maybe stick with beer and whiskey so you get what you pay for. read more

The previous reviews have oversold this place. The food was just ok. Our fish and chips were a little too greasy and only came with 10 potato wedge fries. The server was barely friendly, got our order wrong and seemed put out that we took our order back. Service after that was non - verbal. When we got the correct food, it was over cooked. Passing through on a road trip. Came across this place and what an awesome time. The patio is dog friendly with a fire pit and lights in the evening. Great food and beer selection. Good happy hour food and drink selections. Multiple TVs inside to watch sports. Food was delicious. Our server Jeremy was fantastic - very attentive, kind, and a bundle of laughs! Our group ordered sandwiches and fish & chips. The fries/chips that came with each order were excellent. The sandwiches were huge and pretty good. The fish was terrible. It looked burned on the outside. The breading was really thick, not done and gummy on the inside. I took all the breading off and just ate the 3 really skimpy pieces of fish. Every time we come to Brookings from Medford we eat a couple of times at the Fat Irish Kitchen & Pub. The food is delicious and made from scratch like Shepard's Pie, fresh Fish & Chips to bane a couple. The staff are very up beat and friendly. They gave a brunch on the weekend and a great happy hour. Love this place! It was recommended to us, so we went there for a birthday lunch. The Fish & Chips were generous in portion, lightly but heartily breaded with great tasting fish. The Chips were also a seasoned very well and more than I could eat. My husbands sandwich was served looking like the fare of a Viking Warrior- complete with a large steak knife stabbed into it! It looked like an Irish Lord's lunch so was aptly named. Very tasty. The beer was great, the music and ambiance a pleasure. The food was great once we got served.It took 45 minutes to get the server to acknowledge we were even there and another 45 minutes to get our food.The people that came in after us got their order taken,food served and were finished before we could get someone to take our order.The servers had no clue what they were doing.It was busy but there aren't very many tables,I deal with higher volume where I cook every night with only 1 server.Worst service I've seen in 30 years in the business. read more

In all the years that this pub has been here we never stopped in; tonight we gave it a try. Our server Matt was excellent. He helped us through the items on the menu and made sure everything was to our liking once served. For those who enjoy sports there are at least four televised sports channels on all the time. The amount of bread was a bit overwhelming and the only reason I didn't give five stars. I love bread I just felt it was so thick and big it muted the taste of the inside stuff. I have never had a bad experience with this place until today but I found a bone and foul tasting slimy skin on my fish like perhaps the fish wasn't as fresh as it should be? The coleslaw barely had any seasoning and it was sour and runny. Normally the fish is nice and firm and the breading is crisp but this whole fish and chips platter was a soggy slimy mess.
