As with any restaurant , it takes places a few weeks to hit their stride .. fat Sal's is located in a hybrid food court right on Fremont. The menu consists of burgers, subs, loaded fries and shakes. I simply opted for the chicken bacon ranch hero.. fresh bread, fresh bacon, chicken breast and fresh vegetables made for a quality afternoon sandwich. I had been wanting to try this place for weeks. I'm a Vegas local and had been hearing nothing but hype for this joint. Finally I made the trek downtown to give this sandwich a try. Man was I sorely and I mean SORELY disappointed. I ordered the "Fat Sal" which is basically a classic cheesesteak but with onion rings and mozzarella sticks smothered in gravy. This one sandwich and a soda after a tip cost me 34 dollars. The sandwich is honestly about the size (maybe a tad smaller) than a Subway footlong and honestly the quality is the same if not worse. The sandwich was a miniscule amount of cheap beefsteak with 2 soggy onion rings and 2 small mozzarella sticks that honestly tasted like a cheap appetizer. Now I give credit where credit is due. The gravy was honestly amazing. I really wished they had offered a side of the gravy to dip the sandwich in. However the gravy doesn't salvage a cheap sandwich being hocked at mafia level prices. 34 dollars for a sandwich and a pepsi is RIDICULOUS. The only reason this place earns 2 stars and not one is because the staff were amazing. They were super friendly and attentive and genuinely seemed happy to serve me. However sadly I won't be returning until quality improves or you drop the price by like 75% because this was a 10 dollar sandwich AT MOST. read more

As a Los Angeles native finding out that fat sals opened up a spot here in Vegas was music to my ears. We ventured from Henderson all the way downtown to have what we believe to be one of the best sandwiches around. Being from Los Angeles we would venture to their Hollywood location and to their SFV location at least once a month. We've been loyal customers for I would guess be 10ish years. Unfortunately I feel like this spot has smaller portions and the sandwich was SOGGY and DRIPPINg a ton of sauce ( fat bahn mi ki) unlike the Los Angeles portions and quality of what I consider to be the top 3 sandwiches from me. I understand that's it's now in a city where most of the people that would eat here aren't local so maybe restaurants operate differently because most of the customers will not be repeat customers or that maybe it's just newer. This doesn't mean the food is bad or I won't revisit, just that unlike their Los Angeles locations where I'd sit in traffic to get there - this is a spot I'll visit only when I'm in the area, maybe. Looking forward to revisiting the future to try and feel satiated and content like I always would be in LA. read more

I didnt know they have a location here in Vegas, this is my first time trying their food since they closed their location in SD. Very creative subs and burgers and burritos every item has their unique signature on it. I tried their buffalo sandwich and it was great. The chicken and the mozzarella cheese stick inside tasted perfect and cooked the right way. It was not super spicy for me but the size is big to eat late night. The cashier has good experience about customer service and will explain each item on the menu, also the restaurant is super cool and has friendly vibe. I'm from LA, I have been to all the Fat Sal's in LA, no complaints. Spent $100s on these sandwiches in all the LA locations, Hollywood, Venice Beach, etc . LA locations all give you a bigger portions of ribeye steak. I was so excited for the Vegas location, but they really skimped on the ribeye. Got the the Fat Jerry, my favorite sandwich. All these other reviews may not be familiar with how its supposed to be but if you pay almost $30 for a sandwich combo, the sandwich should have more premium meat on it, not mostly fries and the other toppings. As of now this location looks like Fat Sals, but aint the real Fat Sals. I didnt even ask for a refund just on the respect I have for the other chains in LA. The star of the sandwich is the ribeye, dont hide it with the other cheaper toppings. This would not fly in LA read more
