I used to frequent Fat Tuesdays when they had a location in Atlanta and have been a fan ever since. Having seen Fat Tuesdays I was feeling nostalgic so I popped in for a drink. Now I already had a water bottle full of Don Julio so I didn't need anything crazy. I just ordered the frozen lemonade with a shot of patron. This is my go to because their lemonade isn't too sweet but sweet enough to mask the tequila well. We came in early so it wasn't crowded but more people started coming in as we were leaving. I was so excited when I saw Fat Tuesday because I always go when I am in Vegas. The drinks are consistent and all flavors are tasty. The strawberry is my fave and go-to drink. The electric lemonade is also very good. And strawberry and mango together is probably my favorite combo. My mom likes the strawberry and pina colado, which is a popular combo. The lady working was super friendly and nice. I like that you can buy drinks to go and walk the streets with them here in NOLA. I tried the strawberry Jell-O shot, and I would not recommend. It was horrible. But I love the choices in sizes and some of the larger cups are refillable for a cheaper price, so if you're gonna drink or be here for a few days it's probably worth it to get the refillable cups. They have 2 tables in the back, but for the most part I think people grab a drink and leave (yay for the open container policy in New Orleans!). I got their smallest size, a regular cup, for $11. OMG how have I never been to a Fat Tuesday before?! Apparently it's a chain but this was my first time seeing one, and since trying them that first day, I went back everyday until I finally left New Orleans. Lol. I thought the concept was pretty cool, with the wall of spiked slushy machines filling up the wall behind the bar. The daquiries and spiked slushies are pre-mixed and are organized from strongest to weakest. They allow two samples and they also let you mix flavors. Since l went back several times, I actually tried most of their flavors and my favorites were the Electric lemonade, peach bellini, and pineapple and amaretto. I think I was just in the mood for tropical slushies at the times I stopped by, which was usually in the afternoon when it was blazing hot out. Ever since discovering this chain just this past March in Tempe, AZ, I've been to two additional locations all by chance, in Key West, FL and this one in New Orleans on Bourbon Street which I believe is their number two location to open after the original one in Hammond, LA. ATMOSPHERE: They're located in the heart of the bustling portion of Bourbon Street. I didn't get to poke around the place as I had one mission: A Creamsicle daiquiri to go. The large bar greets you with the numerous daiquiri machines churning a colorful palette of flavors as its enticing backdrop. DAIQUIRI: I simply love their daiquiris but order the same thing, the Creamsicle, a tri-combination of flavors which are 190 Octane, 151 Colada and Banana. It has Everclear in it so you'll be feeling real good after just one. All three locations have been consistently good; thick, icy, perfect sweetened and with the right amount of alcohol to mix ratio. They're available in four sizes (12, 20, 32, 40 oz.). The 20 oz. has been my go-to so far. Taste-wise its like a blended creamsicle popsicle which you can't really taste the Everclear but you'll definitely feel it after! I've never had a drink that tasted so good and is able to relax and make me happy all at the same time. FACT: Established in 1983, they're two companies in one. New Orleans Original Daiquiris that serves just daiquiris, and Fat Tuesday which serves daiquiris and food. SERVICE: I don't expect much as I'd be immune too with the numerous faces, some drunken, they see day in and day out. Machine-like works for me! I've only had the chance to try Fat Tuesday while I was in Florida and that was many years ago. If it were up to me and not the group I was with I would have skipped this place. It's nothing more than a gimmick. The alcoholic version of a 7-Eleven. A line of slushie machines filled with premixed drinks that are easy to serve up. Depending on how it is mixed will tell you the amount of drunk you will experience. Mind the brain freeze. Service was a tad slow, and the servers came up as unapproachable. As another reviewer has said, it's hard to hear them over the too loud music. This really isn't a place that you stay. You grab your drink, in either a Styrofoam cup or cheap looking souvenir cup, and head back out on the street. Security is no joke in here. Don't dance on the tables. I didn't do this, but did see a patron about to get tackled from a table. One thing you don't think of here, you can mix the flavors. That is sometimes a blessing, but most times a curse. read more

No matter what city you go to fat Tuesdays is a good time period usually the bartenders are a bit standoffish until they see that you actually are not someone that's gonna come snatcher drink and run out. Tipping goes a long way here. When you know about off menu items, it makes them know that you are on authentic fat Tuesday customer. We had spongebob's, jello shots, and the house special consisting of jungle juice, 190 octane and crawgator (my favorite). Fat Tuesday is a nice slushy spot. Someone said it perfect, it's the 7-Eleven alcoholic version. Apparently it's a chain, but this was my first time seeing one or trying one. They have a row of drink slushy machines. It goes from the strongest to the weakest mix. All the drinks are pre-mixed. You can mix and match the flavors of any of them. I was craving something fruity and chocolatey. They also allow you to do samples. I tasted quite a few flavors to help narrow down my choice. After sampling a bunch of flavors, I settled for a Dirty Monkey. It was soo good! It was a banana flavor slushy mixed with a flavor that acts as a creamy base with the cup drizzled with chocolate. This was so perfect for me. I got my chocolate, fruit, and cream fix all in one. It was very tasty and blended well together. I really enjoy creamy alcoholic drinks, so this was right up my alley. I will say I don't think the alcohol content was that strong as I had drunk half of it and didn't really feel anything. Overall, I enjoyed my alcoholic slush from here. read more

Oh Fat Tuesday, what can I say? If I am in the Quarter and want a nice cool drink to sip while I walk or, for some unavoidable reason, I am on Bourbon Street and in the mood for a daiquiri rather than one of the many other sugary drinks of death, I head straight for Fat Tuesday. The main reason I pass up all the other shops on Bourbon is because I know what flavors I like at Fat Tuesday and I know it will be the same as it always is at every other location. This location is also towards the Esplanade end of Bourbon so there isn't quite as much demand--or so I like to think. In the afternoon, like most of the other bars on Bourbon, it is very quiet. At these times, don't be afraid to ask for samples of flavors--they are happy to oblige and even locals haven't tasted all of the flavors. Of course, they will give samples when they are busy too, they just might not be as happy about it. I've never really stuck around to scope out the bar, so I can't speak to that, but I'm going to guess it's like most Bourbon Street bars: loud and full of highly intoxicated college kids and tourists so don't be surprised. As far as alcohol content, I find it best to hedge your bets by getting a medium with an extra shot. Then again, I live in New Orleans--drink at your own risk. Also, you don't need a 190 Octane with an extra shot unless you are trying to burn a whole in your stomach or trying to be that frat guy in the gutter later. Basically, this isn't really a hangout kind of bar, more of a stop in and get an iconic New Orleans alcohol slurry place, and for what it is, I like it. read more
