I waited a day to write this because I didn't want to write something when I was hangry. This is specifically for the Redondo Beach location. Apparently others have had similar poor experiences at this location. I love the other Fatburgers in LA, especially the one in Mar Vista. However, she wasn't there yesterday. I left my husband in the car with my dog (good thing because the dog would have probably died while I was waiting for my food) and walked up to the counter to order at 2:10 pm, and it seemed like there was an issue with the cash register, and the guy kept putting up his finger to say "one moment please" several times which was fine, but it took five minutes before the guy could take my order. I wasn't upset about that at all. However, then I ordered a regular burger meal with a gluten free bun and a large burger meal. Several people walked in after me and received their meals. I figured they'd ordered in advance. Then a a young guy got his order, and a couple of women who came in and ordered at the counter about 15 minutes after I did received their food and I was still waiting. I pointed out that at least 2 parties who ordered after me got their food and left already, and I asked the guy if my ticket got lost, and he said, "No, it's because you ordered something different than they did, the gluten free bun takes longer". Always been a favorite of mine. Good side and good tasting burger. They advertise yellow chili peppers but only put them on the burger sometimes for some reason. Shakes are pretty good, I recommend the Maui Banana. Fries are usually portioned generously and are quite tasty. The lemonade is nice and homemade so I recommend that as well. Service has always been very very average. Occasionally solid, sometimes lackluster, so there's that to consider. But you go to a burger place for the burger and that's the star. They have two different french-fries, skinny or fat, both are good. One of my daughters got a vanilla shake which was tasty (B+), and they also have the high-tech soda machine which has something like 50 beverage choices. I avoided the machine and opted for the standalone lemonade machine, it was a tad tart but refreshing. The interior feels like a burger joint, they play music which adds to the ambiance. The price is high for a burger spot, my family of 4 was $43 - but we all left stuffed.
