Also the cheese to the meat ratio was definitely lacking. I was really looking forward to that sub and despite the fact that it did fill me up. Sometimes I drive here from San Pedro to get a cheesesteak they are legit and the mushroom cherry pepper steak sandwich is my favorite. My friend had the pizza steak and he absolutely freaked out and said it was the best he's had and he's lived in San Pedro his entire life he was pissed off that we had to drive to Torrance to get sandwiches. Not sure what I wanted when I crossed through the door but I knew I was hungry. After looking at the menu I chose the chicken parmesan sandwich. I noticed that the gentleman put something in the fryer, after a few moments I asked him if that was for my sandwich he said yes it was the chicken. I told him I misunderstood the menu, I thought sandwich would be Philly chicken cheesesteak style not a deep fried chicken Parm. He was so kind, he said we'll make it anyway you want, so the young lady with pretty braids grilled the chicken, added marinara and provolone just as I thought it would be. As I approached, I was concerned it was closed due to the construction in the front of the plaza. Thankfully, it was open. I went in and there were two other patrons inside. I perused the menu and placed my order with the friendly and attentive cashier, who also doubled up as the cook. I got the Philly with onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers. Everything tasted great and I was really impressed with this place overall. I enjoyed the laid back vibe of this place, as I felt I could enjoy my meal and relax without feeling rushed. IDK if there's a new cook there or what, but when I got my Classic cheesesteak the slices of cheese were placed cold from the refrigerator on the bun and topped with the steak--WTH?? It was hubby's idea to check out Philly's Best. I'm not a Philly cheese steak fan, so I wasn't excited about it. There was no greeting when we entered, and there were these handmade written signs throughout the place. "Uber pick up," "Do not throw away trays," etc.. they just took away from the professionalism of the restaurant. Hubby went ahead and ordered his Philly, and I went with a burger and fries since I'm not a fan of Philly. It was actually not bad. Good tasting burger and fries. Hubby seemed to have enjoyed his sandwich as well. What really grossed me out though was the soda fountain. While getting a soda, I noticed how gross and disgusting it was. Not only just the drain but even the top of the fountain. It immediately was a turnoff, and I decided not to even get a soda. They need to do a better job at cleaning. Three people were working that day, two girls and a guy who looked like he was either the manager or owner. One could've walked around to clean the fountain and even the tables. Cleanliness is crucial for me, and for that, we will not be coming back. It makes me question their cleanliness practices for the restaurant as a whole. read more

You can even get a little creative and cheesesteak without cheese or get cheesesteak fries. I went with the classic and my mom got the chicken on our first visit. First thing I did notice was there wasn't as much meat in there as I've seen at other sandwich shops. It was ok but definitely not packed. Flavorwise the chicken was ok; but the original steak was my preference. Steak was tender and full of flavor! It is a classic cheesesteak for sure. I ordered the Philly's Best and was pleasantly surprised by the tasty combination of Steak, Provolone Cheese, Sweet Peppers, and Mushrooms. The fries are crispy but leave a bad aftertaste because of the oil (I'm assuming the oil never gets changed). The cashier that assisted me was very nice; I believe his name was Parsa. Philly's best makes philly cheesesteaks with ingredients flown in from Philly. Even the dessert tastykakes are from philly i think. What you should get is their cheesesteak of course, made with sauteed peppers and onions, with the white american cheeze. I know some places use wiz, but i'm not into that, the white american cheese is da best! Get them with a side of crispy onion rings and ranch dressing so delicious! The hoagie bun is delicious as well, just everything melds together perfectly. The menu actually expanded a lot, they had other sandwiches like an italian sub type, which you should get with mayo/mustard and the oil/vinegar on the side so it doesn't get mushy. They even make burgers and things like that now too. But get what they're famous for, the best cheeseteaks in the area. Now whatya waiting for??? Go get some cheesesteaks lol. read more

We visited the Torrance location for lunch. Ordinarily it's wonderful. The Asian couple who used to run it were great. However, lately we've noticed it's been hit and miss. Today was definitely a miss. We arrived before the lunch rush. There was only 2 other people in there; only 1 was eating Philly's Best. The other was eating Chick Fil 'A. We ordered 2 hoagies, a cheeseburger, order of fries & onion rings. Fries & onion rings were great. The cheeseburger was ok but the hoagies were awful. It was prepared wrong and the girl who was the cashier as well as the one who made it didn't know what she was doing. She drenched the rolls in the vinegar dressing, piled on the meat & cheese, 2 extremely thin slices of tomato's & old lettuce on top. By the time we got our sandwich's the bottom of my roll was mush & falling apart. It was so wet the roll split in two. I brought it back to the counter and asked for another roll. I watched her remake it and she literally poured the dressing on the roll until it was soaked. She used the same meat & toppings from the original sandwich. Then she proceeded to pour more dressing so I told her to stop. It was tasteless & I threw it away. 3 weeks earlier I ordered the same. It was take away & it was delicious when it got home.
