I called and was told to come and collect my package between 6 and 7pm. I came exactly at 6 and was told to wait 5 minutes as they are sorting the packages in the back. Waiting for a package to be delivered tomorrow to my store, which has not opened, and is empty of all life forms when there is no scheduled work or delivery. I got a call from the driver - they decided to deliver today. Although the tracking info online says it was put on a truck for delivery at 3:38AM, that was no indication whatsoever that the package(s) would come today at 3:00PM. So, the driver called, and I frantically called my girlfriend, my landlord - anyone that might be in the area, since I had not scheduled my flight to arrive today. I couldn't get anyone, and in less than a minute, I called the driver back. He didn't pick up. Then he listed the package as "refused by recipient" knowing full well that if that happened it would be sent back to the sender on the East Coast. Luckily, I called the sender and got them to intercept it and have it re-delivered tomorrow - and have received new tracking info. Of course, it doesn't indicate what TIME the package is coming tomorrow, so I will be hovering nearby, maybe at the bar next door. I'm not happy, the seller isn't happy. This driver wrote that to spite me as I informed him that delivering a day early without proper notification is NOT helpful as no one lives at the shop. I was kind about it though, and even thanked him for his work. Yes, I even THANKED him. Apparently, he's having a bad day. Well, it's about to get a lot worse as his manager is also pretty unhappy. There is so much accurate information on the exact driver - I can't believe he thought he would get away with this. What's more - if he's delivering tomorrow, he gets to meet me. And I won't be thanking him. Comparisons: 1) The packages I have coming on Thursday being shipped through Saia.com - these guys are going to CALL ME IN ADVANCE to MAKE A DELIVERY APPOINTMENT TIME. 2) Even UPS updates tracking information accurately and lists a DELIVERY TIME that changes as their times change. I don't even know why I bother to look at the FedEx tracking info. Seriously. The lesson? I was expecting a package today from Walmart and when I tracked my package online it said no one was home to receive it. I didn't even get a single door bell, call, any kind of attempt that they were at my door. Now I have to wait till the next day for them to deliver it but no doubt that this will happen again. Use UPS. I've had several packages sent to me via Fed Ex and the drivers consistently don't even attempt delivery. Some don't even leave 'delivery attempted' doortags! Today was the worst. Two packages are on their way and supposed to be 'out for delivery' today so I stayed home the entire day waiting for them. I can see the door from where I am sitting and there is an answering machine that picks up if anyone rings the front bell. No one came, no one rang and no doortag was left. I went to the site just now (it is 9pm). The driver for one package noted that I was not available. This is impossible. The driver for the other package didn't even bother to enter any information. According to the site my package is still 'out for delivery'. At least the second guy didn't lie. I called and the customer service person told me I can only pick up the package next week between 9am and 7 pm. Since those are my working hours, I asked if there wasn't some other way for me to get my package. He hung up on me. This goes to the top. If TWO drivers are unable to do their jobs, then obviously the company is not hiring enough people. And then their customer service people are not even trained to do their job competently. Considering how much they charge, I'd bet this company is bankrupt in a few years. I'm telling you, the US Postal Service guy is awesome, consistent and hard working. Use them. And if you can't, use UPS. At least they try to deliver your packages. read more

This really not accommodating delivery package service. They are not open on weekends..very inconvience..they come the time nobody's home then they return your package to station that so far to pick up then they will return your package to the shipper. This review isn't for Fed Ex service in general, but rather for this specific branch. I've found the service to be quite average. With the few print jobs I've trusted them with, they did their job and didn't screw anything up too royally but there were a few pointers that they missed out on. I can say that my print jobs have always been completed on time, if not earlier. As far as their shipping department goes, I've never encountered any major problems here either. I particularly like this branch because they don't bitch when I use Fed Ex Express boxes for Fed Ex Ground shipping (a big no no at other locations apparently). General customer service was average - don't expect someone to go out of their way for you, but you also shouldn't have to worry about an employee telling you to F-off either. read more

If I could rate them a zero, I would. This location is terrible. I placed an order on the 21st for an overnight expedited delivery to arrive on the 22nd and I won't be receiving it until the 24th!!! Why? Because "there are too many packages to sort thru to find your package" (girl at the desk) EVEN THOUGH the dispatcher never took my package since it arrived late AND I called for customer service to SPECIFICALLY hold the package for me and they confirmed I can come pick it up before closing time. Ordered something Fedex Express Saver from Las Vegas to Los Angeles. (3 hour drive) Should be here in a couple days at most. 4 days later nada. Tracking number says its at the facility by my house and wont be delivered for 2 more days. I go over there to try to pick it up and they tell me it won't be available until the day stated in the tracking. Pretty unbelievable!!! Do you think the driver bothered to announce that he/she was there? Of course not! And now, I have to miss a meeting tonight in order to drive out to Sun Valley to pick up my phone with a window of just 30 minutes to get my phone. What happened to this company? OK this is about the Fed Ex in general and the Sun Valley policies and delivery personnel. THEY SUCK!!!! Ordered to be delivered by 1/ 30 (Monday). Followed the tracking and everything is on track for delivery as planned. I should have guessed something was up when it goes that smoothly. HUH? Come home from work - NO door tag, NO delivery, but when I go to track shipment it says customer not available for delivery. WTF??? I wasn't home correct but NO door tag means THE delivery guy NEVER made the attempt. Period!!! OK, let that one slide. Figured someone had a bad day. Next day, Tuesday 1/31, guess what? DOOR tag this time. Deliver attempts states, 1:02 pm Ok I wasn't home but my 23 yr old son was. HMMM??? Deliver attempts states, 4:56pm Guess what I was home then. HMMM??? Me thinks we have a very LAZY delivery guy. I call and complain to the 800 number and demand it be re-delivered the next day after 4pm since I don't get off work till 4pm. OK think this solved the problem? NO!!! Today, Wednesday Feb 1, guess what? DOOR TAG AGAIN!!! Deliver attempts at 1pm (no one home wow what a shocker!!). Deliver attempts at 4pm. (Now guys I get off work at 4p how can I get home at 4p?) Called and spoke with the Station Manager (by the way, ask to be transferred to the station manager when dealing with Fed Ex not a manager). The number for the sun valley location is 818-765-1137. Just FYI for you guys. They are attempting to find someone to redeliver the package for me tonight between the hours of,... ready for this,... 7p and 9p. This place is by far the worst of the worst, never have I seen such poor customer service in place that based on customer service. The employees are flat out rude, had one of my packages held for 2 days! No phone call, email, nothing. It wasn't until I came to drop off more packages that I was made aware of what happened. As soon as I walked in they knew it was my package, the rotund woman with glasses said they couldn't ship it because they couldn't scan the label??? The label came from them, they couldn't just pull it up on their system? When I asked them why they didn't just print one up, they said "we don't print here" unbelievable, and my package that was there for 2 days looked like it had been around the world and back, the box was in such bad shape I had to buy another one, how's that possible if it's just "sitting" there in the back? But wait it gets worse, so ever since that incident where I questioned them about what happened, I been experiencing delays from when I drop off, to when it actually shows they scanned it. A day after and now even almost 2 days after I dropped off the package, since I run a business and big part of it is ship people's products in a timely manner is key to my success now and the future, I find that what they are doing repulsive because they're not just affecting me, they're affecting every one of my customers. I opened a case with corporate, I'd like to think this will make sometime of difference, but after seeing the 1 1/2 star rating on 80+ reviews, this place is beyond help. If the people that worked there had any decency, they would quit and jump off the side of the nearest mountain so they cannot contaminate the rest of the world. read more

Horrible. I am a disabled veteran so often get stuff delivered. This FEDEX refuses to deliver any package to any condo in the building. He gets to the door and pretends to open the door. (This is all on camera from three different angles of our security cameras) If they don't feel like it, they leave an empty blank tag. No unit number, name, nothing. If it doesn't require a signature, they toss it in the lobby against the wall. (Can't order anything breakable) If it does require a signature, they refuse to go to the door and knock. Meaning you can't get your package delivered. You have to always go pick it up. That is why the wait at the location is so long because nothing ever gets delivered. Called the manager and he said it's the safety of the driver. So a delivery driver doesn't feel safe making a delivery to a door? I live in a very ritzy area so I can only imagine how often this driver can claim he doesn't feel safe. read more

Fedex Sun Valley are liars! They claimed that they delivered my Saturday package but I wasn't home/at my business to receive it. Guess what, I was at my business with the front door wide open waiting for Fedex. Called the 800 number and they said they would submit a request for the driver to come back, I won't hold my breath waiting. This is not the first time I've encountered the same problem with them. I dread when I order something online and they use Fedex rather than UPS. Worst service and customer service. I use FedEx for business and have never had a problem. However, FedEx Ground is quickly becoming a nightmare. A couple of weeks ago I waited all day for FedEx Ground package to show up only to find they never rang the door bell but took the time to leave a door tag. Now I have been slowly tracking a much needed package across the United States and it is finally on a truck for delivery today. I started my wait at 8:00AM and it is now 6:15 PM without any sign of anything. I called the Sun Valley office which could only tell me it is still out for delivery and there is no limit to how late at night they may drop it off. That is either one massive truck, as it left Sun Valley at 7:30 AM with the package, or I am going to be disappointed again. From now on I will only rely on UPS Ground for cross-country deliveries. read more

Re: Sun Valley Office FedEx - our package was thrown over our gate into the middle of our driveway,(about 15 feet) even though there is a walkway to the front door. I was home at the time, but the driver was too lazy to bring it to the door. It was lightly raining, he/she put it in plastic bag and tossed it (fortunately contents was not breakable!) on the driveway....why not toss it on the walkway if they didn't want to get wet, rather than my husband almost running over it? I missed him by seconds and called the 800 number to get it redelivered and was told they'll call me to see what's going on so I don't have to wait around all day. This was at 9:30 am and now it is 2:40. I was called by AUDREY around 10 saying to wait for a call for an update. Now I'm told she tried to called again for more information and got someone that said no English. Funny because it's my cell phone and I'm the only one home. Learn how to dial a freaking phone number so people don't have to stay home for 5 hours only to have to go pick up their package. Guy at the counter was not very pleasant and offered no information about services unless I pried the information from him. The woman before me wanted to pay in cash and he asked her to pay with card so that he didn't have to deal with taking cash. I was trying to ship an expensive item (over $300 in value) and he did not inform me that the item wouldn't be packed in a box so he puts the shipping sticker directly on the item and put it on the belt that leads to the back. I asked if he was sending it like that with no box and he said yes. I asked if I can have a box and he said "it's a shipping center, we don't pack items, you have to do that" and I did not know that because every other place I've been too asks if I want a box and then packs the item for me. So I asked for a box and he did give me one for free which was nice, but then handed me a roll of packing tape and told me to move to the side and do it myself. I said okay and he started helping other people. The tape he handed me was tangled and kept separating into two pieces and as I was trying to get it to unroll correctly he looks over after a minute and says "are you not finished yet? It's not rocket science" and I told him the tape he handed me was messed up and not wanting to unroll right. I got it to finally work and taped up the box and put it on the belt myself and left. Not pleasant, Will never return to this location. Employees should put the effort in to be kind and informative. Decent customer service is not hard. read more

Lately both shippers UPS which returned a package after three delivery attempts(must call to hold the package now ), and FEDEX HOME DELIVERY which won't let you hold a package until they do three delivery attempts. I ordered a computer printer from amazon through UPS, after three attempts, went to UPS to pick it up. They looked at me like I was nuts, said it was shipped back because I didn't call to hold the package, showed me the new guidelines on the wall dated November 2009. Then I reordered another printer though amazon went FEDEX, WAITED ALL DAY FRIDAY, never came to the door or called. After the three attempts, called customer service to check she said that their was a fourth attempt to deliver the package. On my computer tracking there nothing about that. The customer service rep sounded drunk . I'm going over to pick it up tomorrow. It better be there. Both FEDEX and UPS have become sleeze bag operations since the 90's.
