None of the pastries on display had any name tags to them so we had to keep asking the cashier what each dessert was and he seemed rather annoyed after the second pastry that we asked him about. How about displaying the names of each dessert to save the hassle of naming them out? They have a side window for customers to order outdoors which is a really neat concept! I'm assuming this is for the customers that are sitting outside on the patio. We got a medium shakerato and a pastry cream cake for $8.66 total. Both were really good! Fellini is a great coffee shop smack dab in the middle of Rice Village (right across from Local Foods!). I used to come here whenever I went to Rice, since it wasn't too far away and offered a nice atmosphere for catching up with friends, getting some late night studying in, or just munching on Italian pastries. Parking can be a struggle b/c Rice Village parking is now almost all metered. There is some street parking around Fellini/Local Foods/24 hour fitness, but it goes pretty quickly, so beware; you may have to walk to get to Fellini. I recommend their hot chocolate and cannolis! Their coffee is delicious, too. I would love to come back and try more of their Italian pastries and espresso drinks, but these are definitely good indicators that Fellini is an awesome go-to place! read more

We just moved in the the Hanover Rice Village and we have our own door into Fellini. My first visit was coffee with a friend. The employees are so nice! I had an Americana. It was delicious! Today I took advantage of the free coffee sponsored by Frost Bank. Claudia helped me choose one of the yummy lattes. She is so helpful and nice! The macaroon I had on my first visit was delicious. The service is what you would expect for a boutique coffee shop in Rice Village. I would not order any of the Italian pastries/les viennoiseries; not worth the calories. This is a lovely establishment found in Rice Village that I had no idea even existed until I stumbled upon it this past weekend. I walked in and instantly fell in love. It has a nice coffee store atmosphere with more modern decorations that are sleek and minimalistic. There's free wifi, plenty of seating, and a great outdoor patio to sit at while sipping on a glass of wine. I ordered one of their pastries, the Capri panini, and a chai latte. The panini was alright, it comes with a side salad and is about the same quality as a Starbucks sandwich. The pastry was extremely disappointing; I thought that it would be delicious because it was absolutely beautiful, but instead it got drenched in sugary syrup and tasted a little stale. As for the chai, hands down the best chai I've ever had. So in conclusion: 5 stars for atmosphere and coffee! 3 stars for food and pastries. read more

Visited this place on Labor Day. I loved the atmosphere when I walked in, it was extremely packed. They have so many delicious pastries it was honestly hard for me to decide what I wanted. I wound up ordering the Carmello and a vanilla cannoli. Both were very delicious. The cannoli was very fresh and definitely one of the best you can find in Houston. The reason why they did not receive 5 stars is because the service was extremely slow. They took forever to make my coffee to go. Also, you have to pay for parking as well since street parking is hard to find. Other than that it was a great experience and I will be back. Hopefully the service is quicker next Time. read more

I needed a place to study and decided to go here. It was crowded pack when I got there, but I found an empty table to set up my things. CHAI LATTE- chai tea and hot milk The chai had a nice bit of spice to it and I liked that it was milky and had a good amount of tea in it. SALMONE- smoked salmon, mixed lettuce, cherry tomatoes, carrots, and kalamata olives in a balsamic dressing I really liked the freshness of this salad. The smoked salmon added such a nice saltiness to the salad and I loved the sweet tomatoes and the balsamic dressing really put all the nice flavors together. I definitely will order this again when I want something light and flavorful. Overall, I would definitely come back here again because the food is good, drinks are good, and I can get some work done here. read more

Its been some time since my last visit and was a good evening to sit outside and enjoy a capachino and some sort of pastry. It was a pretty slow evening with Easter going on so I thought that was a big win for me. Nope, not this evening. Basically, the barista (if you want to call him that), must of left is brain in neutral or at home. I had asked for a small non fat cap. and one of the small strawberry cream tart. What I got was nothing after 10 mins, because he totally forgot my order. Then he gave me a large all milk to go when I asked for a small with little milk for here. Still A great macchiato (traditional of course) but the food and the attitude has gone downhill. The avocado toast came with only two small slices of tomato covering only a small portion of the bread and there were only two small leaves of a arugula. When we asked for more tomato and arugula we got an eye roll and an attitude from the employee. The pastry was undercooked. My recommendation is to stop here for coffee and that's it. How can you have an Italian coffee shop and not have any Italians?? I spoke in my native Dialect Italian and not one woman there knew what i was saying. The Coffee was okay im content it was Lavazza they were serving. My only Concern they did not know espresso. The Manager who i did not get her name but was Hispanic and very nice stated that the espresso machine knows how to pull the shot and it is authentic. This is a really cute and cozy Italian style coffee shop. They have a good variety of coffee choices, desserts, and simple entrees. What makes this coffee shop stand out in my mind though is the whipped cream, which you must request on everything and a little extra. It's made fresh in the store with some secret goodness that makes you feel good and elevates your coffee to another level. I will say their coffee is on the bitter spectrum if had black. But their coffee is not sour, which is how I like it. And they use Italian coffee beans, so if you're like me and can't make it out to Italy, you just drop by here to get a taste of it. read more

Not a huge fan of this place for coming to do work, but the desserts and pretty good and the coffee is well made. The space is more modern compared to a lot of the other coffee shops in Houston, but also a little louder and busier. One of my problems is that unless you come at the right time, it's really difficult to find parking in Rice Village and the shop itself runs out of seating because it only has small tables and not too many of them. I have ordered the mint tea as well as a few Americanos and I have been pleased with both. The tea stays hot in the little pot that is provided for a long time and the coffee isn't bitter even for an Americano. I have also tried one of the chocolate cakes which was really moist and light. As for place to do work, it's hard to get a seat in the first place but even harder to get one by an outlet. Given the noise, it's sometimes harder to concentrate and there's people constantly coming in and out with its dessert and wine menu being nice for after dinner in Rice Village. read more

This is a great little cafe in the Rice Village with a lot of options. I went to catch up with some old friends, and it wasn't too packed and the noise level was good. The coffee isn't great, the service isn't great, and the shop was dirty when I visited. In addition to the shop being dirty, the cup and spoon I was given with my black coffee were dirty too. Another reviewer mentioned that Starbucks is better than this shop, I would agree. Go to the Starbucks around the corner and don't waste your time here. Stopped by to kill time during rush hour. The caffe has an Italian flair somewhat but was missing many truly authentic Italian desserts. The cannoli I ordered wasn't authentic Italian. They had many chocolates/truffles which were not Italian. Good assortment of pastries but seemed to be a mix of Italian and another nationality. I had a Frederico drink which was very refreshing with strawberries and mint. It can be made with or without alcohol. There were also a variety of Italian looking sandwiches on hearty looking bread. A couple were vegetarian. Seating area was small with mostly 2 or 4 chairs per table. There was a larger well lit area in the back around the corner but some woman was holding the whole section waiting for her companions which took 45 minutes to arrive. I found her quite selfish holding all those spots because it was more of a large communal table. Now I understand why restaurants don't want to seat groups till everyone is there. The young ladies behind the counter were very friendly. The main negative feature is the parking which is metered but limited out front. Since it was full I had to drive around and found a parking structure that was $3. Expensive just for a cannoli and a drink IMO. Only got the Nutella brioche which cost $7.50 for two pieces, but it was enough for two people. The ice cream genuinely tasted like Nutella, which is key because I know of places that lure people into eating their "Nutella-filled desserts." Note my disappointment in those places. The atmosphere was lovely. High ceiling, halogen lighting and plenty of space. I found the place a little clinical and would have preferred more cosiness but that's just a personal issue. My third time in one week at this adorable Italian cafe! The atmosphere is calm, relaxed and modern, with new and clean tables/comfortable couches. There is also plenty of outdoor seating to bask in the warm Houston sun. I came here early in the morning for breakfast with friends, when it wasn't too terribly busy. However, the line (at730 am), was already starting to pile up. We also came once in the afternoon, and were still able to find seating despite the busy afternoon rush. The food: I haven't tried their desserts, but their croissants are decent. The regular croissant is warmly toasted to perfection, but occasionally disappointingly burnt. The almond croissant is good too, but the center almond filling is a bit thick and strong for my taste. My friends tried the fruit tart. Though delightful in appearance, the filling was also a bit thick-- with mascarpone base. The drinks: The Americano- delicious. They will give you steamed milk on the side if requested. My friends also swear by the cappuccino. I would also recommend the chai tea, an aromatic, flavorful burst that will wake anyone up in the morning. Other tidbits: overall a calm ambience, with free wi fi. A great place for studying if you're ok with background noise. However, parking here does suck, as there is no designated lot. You either need to parallel elsewhere, or do meter parking by the cafe. read more

I just love Fellini! To me it is the only European style Café in Houston. Ok, this thing with ordering at the front and getting a number for your table maybe not so much. But you can actually sit at your table an someone will bring the coffee to you! I an real cup, on a real saucer...with a *gasp* coffee spoon! There is sugar on the table as well so you don't have to go to one of those strange sugar/sweetener stations. The coffee is really tasty too and I'm in love with the Panini. You can't go wrong with any of the pastries either! I enjoy the design of the place and the big windows! It's fun to watch people walking buy and to pretend not to be in Houston ;-). It is not very loud so you can have a nice conversation. They also have a pretty outside area that you can enjoy during the cooler days. Now, the only thing I do not like are those laptop folks blocking one table for hours sipping their one cup of coffee....but I guess they just invade every good Café after a while. read more

On most days, you will find people studying/doing work here because of the ambience during the day and their well-made coffee. While great for work during the day, in the evenings they have events for the public such as wine tastings/company meet ups. This is usually my tell for when to find a new place. They have high prices and their variety of desserts and food options are more enjoyable to look at than to eat. All in all, this location is a great place to get work done during the day with a good drink to keep you going for a couple of hours. read more

Another of the post-covid disasters that I am noticing all over Houston unfortunately. It used to be a top-notch bakery and coffee shop with nice cakes, pastries, and cannolis. However, either due to a change in management or the baker, the quality has reached rock bottom. Their Swiss rolls are now as flat as pancakes and bone-dry. The cakes are just not up to par, and sadly, the cannolis are not good either (neither the shell nor the ricotta filling). I tried a cake with a surprising hollow interior and a dry outer shell which they called cassata but which was nowhere near what a cassata should be. Even their coffee nocciolato drink, which was stunning before, is now simply an espresso with some cream and no flavor of hazelnut or chocolate at all! read more

I always try to visit new coffee shops, but somehow always end up here. It's by far my favorite in Houston. I live in Austin 9 out of 12 months so I'm tired of those hipster-feel coffee shops with worn-out couches and wooden tables. When I'm in Houston, I like to visit one with a modern feel and pretty chandeliers. Fellini is exactly that. They have plenty of tables and a few couches with high ceilings and pretty pastries. The coffee is okay. I like my coffee iced but I find their hot coffee to taste better. The pastries are pretty good! I've tried their tiramisu, cannoli, and some other ones. The cannolis are delicious! There are also sandwiches if you're really hungry. Wifi is pretty slow so...don't count on it. Parking in front is metered Monday through Saturday at $1.25/hour. There's street parking around the area if you're lucky. Staff is friendly and they bring the coffee to you. Until I find a coffee shop with faster wifi and the same ambience, this one will do! read more

It's about time there's a legit coffee shop in City Centre! Fabulous new and clean coffee shop. This coffee shop knows how to make coffee and the staff gives you the in's and out's to making coffee. Great place to study, read, or hang out. Family with children are welcome. It's not just for hipsters. They have gelato, pastries, and sandwiches that their chef makes fresh. Not pricey. The coffee they serve is Italian and for REAL good. They bring your coffee to you instead of waiting by the check out line, so it clears up people standing around the check out area. The staff are very friendly and show hospitality exceptionally well. When they served our decaf Americano coffee at our table they told us the essence of how fresh their coffee really is because of the foam at the top. Definitely my new favorite coffee shop close by. I don't have one complaint about this one! I'll be coming here more often! read more
