The food is always excellent! That is the reason that I keep on going there. This is not the first time that this has happened to me and I feel the need to bring it up. I called in my order at 12:59 PM and did not get my order until 1:45 PM. When I called in I told the clerk that I would come in right away. She said that it would take 15 minutes. She did not put my order in until I got there. When I asked the gentleman said that maybe the panini machine was being used. That is not true as there was only one order that was given out before mine. Attached are pictures that show what time I called in and what time the order was placed. Heads up! There is construction taking place at Longs which is right next to the bakery. This was my first time going so I was a little lost looking for it. It was very clean inside and organized which I really appreciated. The danishes were sooooooo delicious!!!! The blueberry was my favorite. The chocolate croissants had wonderful flaky layers. Been coming here for years because of their scones and croissants but one of the cashiers is very rude and not friendly at all. She will be the reason why I don't come back. She's usually working Saturday mornings (that's when I usually go) so if you want to avoid a bad attitude don't go on a Saturday. Wow, I've been here many times throughout the years. Well here's my take on this patisserie. They have a different bread special each day. A nice assortment of pastries and sanwiches. The have breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Today I had the Black Forest Ham sandwich. Its prepared with ham, crisp bacon and lettuce on a ciabatta bun. For me the crispy bacon stole the show. My friend and I were at Manoa Marketplace and she mentioned this place and told me I must try it if I've never been here before. We went in and wow lots of pastries! I got a Valrohna Dark chocolate bomb dessert filled with cream brûlée w a cookie at the bottom. It was heaven! Cravings satisfied! I remember the first time I saw this place on tik tok I knew I had to try it. The first time I came a little late so couldn't get their breakfast sandwich which was served from 7 AM - 10:30 AM. I got their desserts instead and they were delicious and not too sweet. Today I came back to get their fendu breakfast sandwich and it did not disappoint! It had prosciutto, mozzarella cheese, pesto, and I think like four eggs inside. The price has gone up by $2 but who can blame them lol. It's $10.99 a breakfast sandwich now but last time was $8.99 I saw. It's okay though because the sandwich I had was worth it they're not stingy on inside toppings that's for sure. There were like 4 eggs and plenty of pesto and chin my sandwich! Last Friday marked the first time since the pandemic lockdown to step foot in this bakery! It never occurred to me until this morning that I could come get my treats before work instead of lamenting they close early. ‍ The wonderful news is, the treats are as delicious as ever, and I tried one new item (at least new for me) each day. Last Friday I decided to get the coconut milk bread to try after the super sweet lady behind the counter recommended it to me. I asked if there were any samples (they used to have random cubes of bread pre-pandemic) but they didn't, which is understandable. But she was so nice she sliced a bit off for me! On one hand, I felt guilty and would have bought the loaf she sliced (and insisted to do so) even if I didn't like the taste. On the other, it is delicious and so soft and aromatic so it's all good! This morning my eyes were bigger than my stomach (frequent occurrence) so I splurged on two chocolate croissants coz they were sold out on Friday. I forgot to ask if it's still Valrhona chocolate. But no matter, it's still as rich and chocolate-y and flaky (aka messy if you're like me) and buttery as ever. My kid really enjoyed the Fuji apple croissant I got for him last Friday so I got that too, for his after school snack. Then I caught sight of a savory croissant, the smoked Turkey croissant with goat and Parmesan cheese tucked in between the sweets. A breakfast croissant, not unlike their breakfast sandwich! Extremely RUDE woman, possibly the owner took my order. After taking my order she mumbled something under her mask and behind the clear barriers. I politely questioned what she said and she screamed, " YOUR NAME??" She then proceeded to ROLL HER EYES at the young boy working at the register. I do not want to support a small business that has employees who are DISRESPECTFUL and RUDE. Was it loud and busy in the store? No, there was only one other customer in there. The pastries here are so yummy! I first tried this place when my boss brought their pastries to one of our meetings. It was love at first taste. I've gone back a couple of times to get a treat when I'm in the area. My favorite is the Lilikoi cheesecake. They are a little pricey, but totally worth it. I would definitely recommend trying out pretty much anything. The only reason I took off a star was for service. I think other reviewers like the service here but for me it's hit or miss. Sometimes they're super friendly and sometimes (including my visit today) they are not so much. It's brilliant, so good! I never bought their bread, until one day, I tried the sourdough and the butter bread. They were great, too! But I'm obsessed with the butter bread. Sliced, toasted, with butter. Watch out, the whole thing will be gone! The cakes are amazing, too. And of course, their sandwiches!!! You have to always wonder why this specific place has lasted for years through the carb fasting and pandemic. We were there on an afternoon when they were almost sold out of everything. We ordered a baguette, melted cheese sandwich and a brownie. We waited 15 minutes for the grilled cheese sandwich and it was so delicious! The outside of the bread is crispy but very light and oozing with melted cheese. The brownies so wonderfully rich with chunks of chocolate. My local bakery. They're a special occasion type of bakery given the prices, but well worth it. The sour cream pound cake is my absolute favorite thing to get here but you can't go wrong with any of the freshly baked breads. They also have seasonal desserts and they are super fancy.
