No training, no greeting, just 'what do you want to drink' ok. Very rudimentary service. A colleague and I both got the lasagna, hers no meat, mine with meat. We were served the wrong ones. Because there was no meat in mine, I assumed that maybe the sauce had meat until she pointed out that hers was full of little bits of grey looking meat inside the pasta. That said, the meat was not preseasoned or flavored so she could only tell by the texture so too late to complain when you have eaten a third of it, so we did not. It was ok, but I would not return there for the lasagne. The restaurant was not crowded, 6-9pm. They were not too busy to give good service, but service was rudimentary, basic, not particularly polite either, waiter made it clear he was annoyed at people arriving separately and later separate checks. All of us have worked in service industry, none of us were difficult, no one wasted the waiters time by saying stupid stuff, or being indecisive, or sent anything back or complained. Friends pizza had artichoke, she asked me to taste it, it was incredibly salty, a few of us tried it, everyone agreed the restaurant should do something to change that. I told her to let them know, it was horribly salty. The bills came, with the option to pay electronically via the toast app, auto gratuity for 'large group' of 20% was added to each. There were 9 of us in the end, 8 ate food and one just had 2 beers. My bill had automatically added another 20%, I had to show each person how to remove that Extra 20% that was added, (a 40% tip is Not it) we all just paid the 20% large group grat; total tab was around $345, waiter made 20% so at least $70 tip from our table - for taking the order, delivering one round of entrees and mostly one round of drinks. We were there for 2 hours. Lots of empty tables around us. It made me realize how great I was as a server back in the day, and how being made to feel welcome affects whether you would return to a restaurant.

When you walk in, it is very bare and you can see the glass display cases holding the chocolate confections, it smells sweet. We thought we were in the wrong place initially to pick up our pizzas, but they quickly reassured us we were in the right spot. The location has been there for many years, with the family going back many years and obviously loved by the people of Racine. The location is also very convenient right off the main road. The pizza was good! We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back and try new things.

To make matters worse, when we called to let them know the order was still incorrect, instead of apologizing or trying to make it right, we were accused of lying. Mistakes happen, but calling paying customers liars instead of resolving the issue is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately, because of the poor customer service and failure to correct the order, we won't be returning.

I've heard great things about this place especially from my people up in Roger's Park. We ordered online and the pizza was ready at the time that they said. It's really just a take out spot so don't plan on dining in. They do have parking on the side which is nice and they're literally steps away from the Morse Red line stop. We pre-booked a week in advance. We were told we had to talk to the owner and asked to call back the next day. Odd, that never happened, before. I WAS ASKED to call back the next day. I called back the next day and was told the same. I gave my number and got a call back from the owner, who said the pizza and salad buffet we usually had cost more (I get that) and they would only serve us food for an hour, with the larger pizzas we would get, only available for take-out or delivery (I surely didn't get that), AND we had to give a depot (also a new thing I didn't get). In spite of these red flags, I offered to make a deposit over the phone. He told me to call him the next day or to come into the place to make a deposit. I called... he wasn't there. I, the customer bringing 25 people to this restaurant, was too busy to get there. So, on the day of the event, I went there early. The owner was there, and it all went downhill in minutes with him saying, "you can't come in here and take over half the restaurant for free." Free? We would have certainly paid. He would not let us rearrange any tables, so we could sit together. He did not want our business and was unprepared to serve us (I do not believe he had the staff). Mind you there were only 6 other guests in the place. What to do, our guests would start trickling in soon? We had to find another venue. I called another place we frequent across the street. They said, "give us 30 minutes to set-up a banquet table for you." Done. We reluctantly, ordered drinks and were pleased by the attentiveness of the bartender/service who pleasant demeanor was a most welcomed change from the surly owner. We paid our bill, as we didn't expect the drinks for FREE, tipped the nice lady, and gladly left fairly certain our tab was the largest they were going to see that evening. After our fabulous time and excellent service and great food at the place that accomodated us, I had to come to GCP as my car was parked on the street right there. There were like two people sitting at the bar. It would not surprise me if this place were to fail and close soon. Given the customer service mindset of the owner, it is the trajectory he has placed his business on. Now, I think I will write a glowing review of the place down the street that saved our evening.

The crust is VERY crisp and a bit charred. To my taste, there's not quite enough cheese but that's a matter of personal taste. The pizza is minimalist - just crust, mozzarella, tomatoes, and a bit of seasoning. No toppings, don't even ask. The owner is a great guy who really knows his stuff, a pizza nerd in the best possible way. This is a Pink Line station. You're not coming here for the fine dining atmosphere. And if you're not an a**hole the service is great. Absolutely worth the trip.

Reminds me a lot of the extremely popular Ceres pizza in NYC (except the catch with Ceres is you're dropping like $50+ for the whole dang pie). Owner is super friendly. Gave us some blue berries he got from Michigan which he says he does on the weekends. So that was nice, too! Would definitely recommend if you're in the area!
