Fieldwork Brewing has transformed into a regional powerhouse, and it's been fun to visit their newer locations. I've been to the original many times, but this was my first at the Sacramento taproom and I loved my visit. It's located in a beautiful historic neighborhood right near the Capitol building. It feels like you're in a quiet area, but it's filled with people. They have outdoor seating, plus the main taproom counter, bar, and various tables. In the main taproom you'll find lots of takeout beer and the merchandise. I ordered a few new beers to try, always up to the consistently excellent quality. The staff were welcoming and friendly. It's a casual place, and you can choose your own seating. If you've never been to a Fieldwork, it's a great location. read more

Tried a variety of beers, sours, wine, and mocktails. Thumbs up on these: - Dill & Ted's - I has been obsessed with pickle chips, pickle back shots, and this falls right in line but is light and refreshing. It's a strange concept, but after you take a sip, you get it and will go back for more. Refreshing and pleasant to get in a half pour and have it break up between other beers. Tip: sip before you smell it. If you smell it first, you will think it's overwhelming but it's actually not. - cucumber melon juniper non-alcoholic mocktail - super refreshing and clean. Perfect for summer. - Pulp hazy IPA - light and pleasant All others had a similar taste and feel, and not a lot of distinguishing characteristics, though I sort of feel that way every time so come here. It's all similar but you find a few hidden gems. Pizza and pretzels are good. Service was great! Staff are super friendly and helpful with the beer tasting suggestions. The service was pretty quick after we made our orders from our table using a QR code. My two colleagues enjoy their beer trials. One of them enjoyed the Chloé one! If you want parmesan cheese, ranch or ketchup to dip your pizza in and you can always just ask someone who works there. They are generous! Their pizza was crispy and tasty! There's plenty of spots to sit as well as outside seating, so it's perfect for big parties. I will say, I am not a fan of the tap water from their bucket. It just tasted wrong. read more

Maybe this is the wave of the future but yuck to ordering with QR codes, yuck to having no ice at a restaurant, yuck to having to hunt or flag down someone because no one will check on you. Got a salad with raw sweet potatoes. They did take it off the bill but it was super hard to get staff's attention and had to ask multiple times. Really felt like they purposely didn't make eye contact, kept eyes on the floor as they passed by. So bad it was almost humorous. Hard to imagine staff making tips. I'm guessing with such lack luster customers service they have way fewer employees and hopefully they make more of a hourly wage. The pizza was good which is why they get 3 stars read more

I've always liked this location.Im not always the best planner and most of my visits to Fieldwork Brewing Company have come when I want to eat at either Paesanos or Zocalos,both are located nearby.So when I fail to make a reservation,Fieldwork historically has been a great spot to enjoy a great beer while waiting for a table. This particular trip was a bit different as we were out bar hopping doing some day drinking and we decided to stop by here for a quick beer. Fieldwork beer can be called many things,but I will always say it's a high quality,reliable beer-I've never had a beer here over the years that I didn't enjoy and today was no different. Today we decided to go with 2 beers-We had a Heezer($8.50) which is a Hefeweizen at 5.4% ABV and a West Coast Slang($8.50) which is a West Coast IPA at 7.0% ABV. I didn't love the Heezer but I'm also not much of a Hefeweizen type of guy. The West Coast Slang though was pretty awesome and went down super smooth,especially for an IPA.I would definitely order this again. As far as the seating situation,they have both outdoor seating,which is where we sat and a lot of indoor seating with their expanded 2nd indoor dining room that has a pretty large capacity. Parking is 100% street parking,it's a very busy part of town with many popular restaurants located nearby,so be prepared to not park close. I hear the food here is excellent but we honestly just showed up for a quick drink,so I will have to review the food at a later date. What I can say about this place is that through my many visits,the staff has always been great,very friendly and attentive,the place has always been very clean and the customers who frequent this establishment always seem to be in a fun festive mood. Have now been here a few times with friends and coworkers, and I think it's a great spot for a casual hangout! They have a nice selection of beers, ciders, and slushies. This most recent time I came, my friend and I tried their rose slushie and it was delicious. They have lots of seating inside and a cute outdoor area under the shade. The food is also quite tasty here, I've had their pizza which was really cheesy and perfect for sharing. The staff have also always been nice and helpful. Haven't been to Fieldwork in a few years and was craving beer and pizza with this surprisingly great weather, so we had to stop in. Service was excellent. Everyone was super friendly and laid back. You can order at the tap or grab a seat and order via QR, which is awesome. Plenty of seating, spacious, good vibes, and they had Premier League on their massive TV. Beer was superb, kind of hard to review because I just love beer, man. We started with the shishito peppers, which were great and came with a really memorable miso aioli that was very addictive with a hint of lemon. We also got the "Fun Guy" pizza to share and made the mistake of removing the goat cheese, which I think hurt it. The crust was excellent and the toppings were fresh, but it felt like it was missing that salty, funky balance the goat cheese would've added. Still very good, but that one's on me. I'd definitely get it as intended next time. One of my favorite breweries, especially with so many having closed over the past few years. Cheers to them. read more

Placed an order to go because we really enjoy the pizza but with a newborn it's a coin toss of whether she'll want to be out and about. The pizzas we ordered were great as always. My review is specifically towards the non alcoholic beer called Day Money. I'm not a huge beer person in general and with breastfeeding I'm. It currently partaking in alcohol. That said this is the best beer I've ever tasted (including ones with alcohol). The grapefruit is very refreshing and this drink helped boost my milk production! I saw the dog policy clearly posted when we walked in: "Well-behaved dogs" are welcome. at first I thought this was sweet, but then i saw a large dog place both his front paws on the bar and I was disgusted. The bar tender did nothing but continue to coo at the dog. I would've walked out if we hadn't already had to pre-pay with the QR Code at the tables. We had the Bare knuckle Neapolitan style pizza with the Chloe Pale Ale and the Pulp Hazy IPA. The food was good and the service was fine. I heard Fieldwork Brewing Company had the best hazy IPA so I had to come try it. We came on a rainy afternoon and the taproom was not too busy. There is a QR code to scan for the menu and you also order from your phone. We got the sampler to try different flavors. There were three sours on tap so we tried all three. The Rainbow Parfait was sweet and tasted like rainbow sherbet. The Jelly Packet had strawberry, grape, and orange flavors. It was probably the best of the three. Aloha Vibes had a tropical flavor and you can taste the coconut flavor in the drink. The three sours were all good, but I not the best sours I've tried. They weren't too strong either. Fieldwork's Hazy IPA, the Pulp, was really good! Probably the best hazy I've tried. It had a taste of orange, which was really good. I'm not even a IPA drinker, but liked this drink. The Mo Pulp is the DDH IPA (double dry hop) and tasted similar to Pulp, but had a slightly different aftertaste. I personally liked the Pulp better. The Don Picante (a chipotle smoked porter) was a bit dark and spicy. Fieldwork served fried pickle spears, which was interesting to try. On the piece I had, the batter wasn't too crispy. We also ordered the hot pretzel, which I didn't get to try, but must have been good because it was eaten up. Fieldwork has expanded their taproom since they first opened and now offers food from their own kitchen. The taproom is casual and comfortable for a hang out. Great place for drinks and pizza after work! They have a special on Tuesdays where you get a pizza and two beers for $30. Parking can be hard to find depending on the time of day, so expect to find a meter along the side streets. The vibe is very chill as you scan the QR code on whatever table you want and the staff bring your order to you. Plenty of seats inside and outside. Fieldwork Brewing is hands down one of my favorite spots for craft beer. They are incredibly consistent across styles, and if you truly enjoy beer, I'd strongly argue it would be hard to find something here you don't like. Whether it's IPAs, lagers, or more creative offerings, everything is well executed and thoughtfully made. They brew one of my all time favorites, Coconut Milk. The pizza here is fabulous and has always been legit. It's consistently well made and pairs perfectly with the beer, making this an easy place to settle in for a while with friends. This little spot was the perfect spot for a quick lunch (and a pint) on my recent visit to Sacramento. It's located in a nice part of downtown, with plenty of paid street parking nearby. I snagged a spot on their outdoor patio and ordered a cold pint of blonde ale while I waited for my delish mushroom pizza to arrive. It was so delicious! My biggest regret was I couldn't take the leftovers with me as I had meetings to attend and knew it wouldn't do well sitting in the back of my rental car on a hot summer day. I've stopped in a couple times now and this spot not only offers great beer, but also some delicious food. They're located on Capitol near 18th and street parking is easy to find either right nearby or within a short walk. They're located have indoor and outdoor seating and are great for groups big and small. I also learned that they're dog friendly! I'll have to bring our little guy next time. On our latest visit we visited with friends on a Monday night around 7:30pm and were able to easily grab a table. We ordered a bunch of appetizers including two orders of the hummus- we highly recommend it- along with fried pickles, their goat cheese dip, and shishito peppers. All the appetizers were good, our personal favorites were the hummus and fried pickles though. We also ordered a couple pizzas and I was most excited for their Good Dill Hunting pickle pizza. I'm a huge fan of pickle pizzas and I needed to try this. It didn't disappoint, it had a good amount of dill pickles and the sauce, cheese and bacon along with their crust made for a delicious combination. You might rest at the tables with a QR code, but the staff still check in on you, deliver your food and drinks and were really kind and attentive. They also helped us get water and boxes. Dill &Ted's Excellent Adventure is the best pickle beer I have tried. I am a Dill pickle flavor lover. I have tried many pickle beers and most of them fall short. Too cucumber. Not enough Dill. The servers were helpful and attentive, getting food and drinks out in a reasonable timeframe despite the crowd. We tried a good variety of items. The Bare Knuckles Detroit-style pizza stood out with its mix of tater tots, bacon, garlic purée, onions, smoked cheddar, mozzarella, and chipotle aioli. Definitely rich and filling. We also had a couple of Imaginators, which were fun and fruit-forward with notes of passion fruit, papaya, guava, white peach, and lychee. The Fireball pizza had house sausage, shishito peppers, and a marinated red pepper chili sauce. It was a bit spicy for me but still flavorful. The honey Calabrian wings were solid and easy to snack on. Overall, the food was alright and the experience worked well for a business gathering. I've been to a few fieldworks now and must say they all have similar customer service experiences. Always super nice and helpful. Stopped by this location after a family event. Got a flight with some shisito peppers and a pizza. No complaints whatsoever. The aoli sauce with the peppers complimented them very well. The margarita pizza was great! The crust was very tasty and nice fresh moz and basil on top. The area for seating is very open and nice as well. We brought a stroller in and had no issues fitting. Was in Sacramento last weekend (such a beautiful/historic town) and was craving some bites and some brew so we decided to check this spot out as it was busy and the menu featured "Detroit style" pizza. There was no seating available inside which worked out perfectly as the weather was nice and my favorite thing to do in a new place is people watch so we grabbed the last two seats outdoors. Upon settling in, we discovered that this is the type of place that you scan a bar code and place and order from your phone. I guess it's feasible when short staff and busy but I personally am not a fan of this. It's a brewery and for me part of the experience is chatting with the bartender and/or server about their preferences and/or details regarding the craft beer options available. Sadly I was not able to do this so was disappointed. Additionally we discovered that although they advertised "Detroit style" pizza, they did not have this option available so we settled on a small regular round/thin crust pie which was topped with onions, sausage and hot peppers. It was tasty but the hot peppers were a bit overwhelming. Lastly, we ordered a flight and went with the light/lager style options. The beer was good, nothing worth noting here.
