We had an amazing dinner tonight at Finley's Bar and Grill. I started with the side salad . It had a twist added to it which was grapes in the middle and it was a great touch. I ordered the salmon and it was cooked to perfection. It was seasoned perfectly and had a light crisp on the outside then topped with capers. The loaded baked potato was delicious and the seasoned green beans were great as well. Oh my , this meal is definitely something that I will rave to others about. Compliments to the chef! read more

I discovered this place truly by accident. My Uber driver had taken a shortcut down a small country road crossing vineyards, ranch properties and charming Central Valley farmland when I noticed this incredibly unique roadhouse in the middle of California prairie land. I knew I had to stop. Arrived mid afternoon, the owner Debra was a pleasure to chat with while sharing common political beliefs which will be clearly evident upon arrival. Ordered Chimay on tap and dined on the house daily special which was Chicken Marsala, w/mashed potatoes and Brussels Sprouts. Freekin Delish. This place has so much charm, if Fast food and corporate chain restaurants appeal to your taste you'll definitely hate this place. However if you enjoy home cooked goodness with eclectic character you'll certainly be comfortable and welcomed at Finley's Bar. Love this place. I don't like writing bad reviews but I had the worst experience ever at Finleys. I had been looking forward to going there for a while and my brother and I finally made it. Kind of strange that there wasn't one single car in the parking lot! We were there for a couple hours at dinner time and not one single person walked in! Not one! The first think I saw was a big flat screen with Fox news on it. The owner was the bartender and waitress. There were Trump bobbles everywhere. I don't like to talk politics with people I don't know. She didn't turn TV off or the volume down even when music was playing. Debbie, the owner, says " They need to put Trump back in office where he belongs". My brother and I didn't comment. None of this would have mattered to me if the food was good. I ordered prime rib and my brother ordered pork tenderloin in some kind of cream sauce. The pork was old, tough and unedible. My primerib was heated up from who knows when. Terrible! Cute patio though. read more

We'll, we were very interested in trying this restaurant based on the Yelp reviews. We called 3 times but no answer. We figured Mark & Deborah must be slammed working the bar and cooking so we decided to just drive down there. Although, Yelp said it was open til 10pm (we showed at 5:20pm) sadly it was closed. No sign on the door. Looking through the window it looks to still be operational. Hope all is well with the owners! Maybe we'll try again the next time we're in town. read more

Hubby and I stopped here for lunch, it was empty. That made me concerned but gave it a try anyway. The menu had a lot of selection on yelp but when we showed up - she was up front about only accepting cash and gave us a one page menu for a handful of selections. This restaurant is away from any place people would want to frequent so I understand they are keeping costs down. There were NO vegetarian options except for salads and that was disappointing. My husband enjoyed his burger and fries and the lady serving our table was courteous. My salad was alright but I would've picked another restaurant if there was another sit down place nearby. Seeing a "Trump" sign and MAGA hats in the dining area was a total turnoff. read more

So last evening for Valentine's Day. My husband and I decided to try some place new. So he found a place on Facebook called Finley's bar and Grill. To start off our Debra the owner sat us in the dining room. it was lovely so many little things to look at and enjoy. The patio was so pretty. It's like stepping back in time. Or walking into your great grandma home. So then the food began to arrive. Garlic bread and salad the salad was very good. I had blue cheese dressing. My husband had Thousand Island. Then the main course arrived. It was prime rib smoked in a smoker. It was amazing so good best prime rib I've ever had. I would totally recommend this place get in your car and go. Very attractive bar and grill. It's a small place with huge personality. Staff were friendly and attentive. Patio area for outside eating is a nice option as well. It's like going back to the 1800's. Finley's is out alone a few miles from Manteca. So it's a destination place for sure. The only issue for me was the pricing was a bit high. One of the least expensive dinner option was a burger for $20. However, it was a darn good burger! If pricing was 1/2 I'd make it a point to visit on a regular basis. But $25 for a steak salad makes it a less often visit. But I understand! It's such a small place they would need to flip the tables more often Zane their just isn't the room. I recently dropped in to see all the wonderful new improvements. Brand new black granite bar top, new seating area, and absolutely gorgeous beer garden! There was three of us that went to have dinner at this place. We had our drinks, while we waited for our meals. Two of us ordered steaks and one order a salad. The two steak orders were the same except for one had a coors light. So to break it down: 1. Steak for $28+ a large beer, I'm gonna guess hi at $10. So a total of $38 2. Steak for $28+ a large beer plus a coors light. So what? 38 plus a coors light I'll say the coors light cost $5. Total of $43. Mine was the first one I paid $51 Friend was the second he paid $63 How can a coors light make the bill 12 dollars different?! Not only that, when we asked for the bill to be split separately, we were responded very rudely by the hostess. Her comment was as followed,"come on you guys, really?" I hope I didn't make it to confusing but for certain do not recommend this place. This quaint little restaurant has gone to hell. My brother and I went there for dinner because I was very excited to find it again! My ex-husband had taken me their years ago and it was so wonderful and quaint and the people were friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. This time it was the complete opposite. For one thing, you had your little barflies sitting over in the corner (swearing and laughing and whatever they do.) And then you look around the bar and you see nothing but Trump memorabilia. She reached up to the bar and you could tell the bottle had not been used in quite a while or she's not really into cleaning her bar area? It was rancid. I don't know how long it had been up there but there was sentiment on the bottom of the glass, when I took the first drink. The food... Food was absolutely disgusting I had the Shrimp Fettuccine and it was the tiny Bay shrimp. Presentation look disgusting, very disappointed that it wasn't actually some nice pieces of shrimp for what we paid. Brothers food was a steak and it was disgusting. Potatoes were so hard like they had been sitting in the oven or under a heat lamp for quite a while. We paid $85 for shitty atmosphere and food that I wouldn't serve to my enemy. Never going back. And the poor kittens that were out in the patio (which was probably the best part of this whole experience.) They were all over the place and Debbie "the owner" stated that she wished she could get them all fixed but it's so expensive. Really disappointing experience. The owner(also the bartender while I visited) was incredibly rude, standoffish and condescending. Which is quite funny because, with the use of a calculator, she could not split a bill of 101.50 in half. But, incompetent people usually think they are amazing. Her pronouncement that she was going to fire her cook was very strange as well. You would think she could keep that type of thought in her head. The food was over priced and pretty terrible. The TV in the bar was blaring a political rally, not really the type of ambiance we had in mind after a 6-hour drive. Hospitality & politics don't mix. I was stunned at the prices, too. $20 for a French dip, $10 for a Blue Moon? I ordered a Cajun chicken sandwich, which is billed on the menu as a grilled chicken breast with Cajun aioli on ciabatta bread. The server warned me that it would be hot -- that's cool, I love spicy food. When it came, it had shredded meat, sautéed mushrooms, and was not at all spicy, so I thought maybe I had misread the menu and asked to see it again. The host asked if anything was wrong, so I said I thought I read my sandwich would have chicken breast. She replied "yes, but it's shredded." OK, then. In my opinion, that should be made clear on the menu. We'll look elsewhere the next time we pass through town. read more

Would mark it -stars if possible, worst food ever, first we ordered a glass of wine that tasted like a very old opened bottle of wine that should have tipped us off, but no we ordered prime rib when the salads came they were made with old slimy lettuce with gooey mushrooms oh it was disgusting, next came the garlic bread that had a horrible fishy taste to it. When the prime ribs came they were ordered medium rare but they were over well done very dry they looked like they had freezer burn. The ice water was good though. With business at the nearby Stockton Airport, I decided to forego the usual fast food for a nicer lunch. I settled on nearby Finley's after glancing at a few reviews. I came in at 11:30, and am pretty sure I was the first customer of the day. The restaurant was meticulously clean, and the staff was just standing around. I think they were surprised to see me. There was no music and their large bar TV was on mute, making the place eerily quiet. The bar is quaint with nine seats, a small nearby dining area, and a large dining room that they probably convert for banquets. Everything looked very classy, clean, and "old tyme". The variety of unique chandeliers was impressive. They have a decent menu with a good range of choices, but I immediately noticed the high prices that other reviewers have noted. I opted for the pastrami sandwich, $11, and iced tea for $2.50. A little high, but I was optimistic. It was one of the less expensive items on the menu, with some entrees as high as $25. My lunch quickly arrived, and the portion was average sized - not huge, not puny. The sandwich came with a stack of fires that had a very yummy garlic/chive coating. This, I loved. It also came with a small cup of chili, topped with grated cheese. The chili, unfortunately, was lukewarm and had no taste, no seasoning, no spices. When I ordered the pastrami, I asked if anything would be on the sandwich and was assured that it was only the pastrami and cheese. Unfortunately, I found thick pickle slices among the ample cheese and average stack of pastrami. The pastrami was high in fat content, and completely unseasoned like the chili. And because there was no music or TV, I found myself very self-conscious as I chewed. The staff was nice, but didn't go out of their way for a $15 meal. Because it was slow, the waitress sat at the bar and watched the silent TV while I ate - kind of weird. As more people came in, she became busy. My iced tea was refilled multiple times without waiting very long. At $15 on the check, I can't say I see the value. If the pastrami were lean and seasoned, and the chili a little better, then I'd be a big fan. I hope their more expensive entrees aren't an even bigger disappointment. I recently went to Finley's Bar and Grill. It was not a good experience. I should have know when we pulled into the parking lot and we were the only car there. Should have been a clue. I ordered prime rib medium rare. It came out medium well. It looked it had been pre cut, frozen , microwaved and served. I ceremonially buried underneath my cloth napkin. Cocktails were ordered and we charged for 3 when we had just 2. When the female was confronted her reply was" you must have had a double. Glasses were old and dirty. We had a party of 5 and were charged 18% gratuity. I don't mind paying that but I always though it 6 or more and of our party was a 12 y/o. We also had them open two bottles of wine for a corking fee of 26.00. Total bill 255.00 WTF. I now see why the p/lot was empty. Never again! read more

Just off the intersection of French Camp Road and Airport way, I'd driven past it for years thinking it was some little neighborhood tavern. surprise Surprise, It is a Bar, but they also have a wonder full little dining room, just off the bar, and a few tables along the wall of the bar. White Linen table clothes, pink Linen Napkins and a big boy drink to start off with.. Well made Vodka and tonic for me, Vodka Collins for w. We were a few minutes early as dinner starts at 5 pm, so we enjoyed the casual relaxed atmosphere of a neighborhood spot, with a very relaxed atmosphere. Frog legs and Escargot on the menu plus smoke Prime rib on weekends are available, but we went another way.. W had a southern fried Catfish fillet a nice green salad with a great dressing, Baby red potatoes and sauteed veggies. She raved about it. My interest was immediately piqued by the 14.95 Finley's burger. It lived up to it's price. Nice bun that made it to the end of the burger without falling apart, black forest ham, about a 10 ounce burger pattie hand formed, two cheeses A sweet onion and trimmings. This baby is on MY own personal short list of great ones. Accompanied by lightly seasoned shoestring fries and a small cup of chili, just the right consistency for dunking the fries. Also, a very nice selection of draft beers available. 2 drinks, 1 wine , and a beer, 58 bucks out the door, but well well worth it. read more

Nice little hole in the wall of a place. Lived in manteca 30 years and never been inside. Great little old saloon type bar a lot of character. Good choices on beer and shots they had some really good whiskey. Burgers were big and beefy made with angus on a soft bun. The people were nice and friendly really enjoyed my time. Only draw back was its so small about 6 tables to eat on so it can get packed easily. I will be back. read more

My husband and I have lived in Manteca for over 40 years and finally tried this place. WE LOVED IT! A little hole in the wall with huge personality. We brought our kids for dinner and were not disappointed. The owner? was by himself and apologized if it took a long time to get our food. We did not have to wait long at all. He made our drinks, cooked our food, served us and checked on us. Better service than any big restaurant ran by a full staff! Definitely recommend this place for a quick drink or a full meal.
