I've been to the Finneys in Westlake many a time over the years, but this was my first time at this location. It's important to note that their menu is so diverse, so you can easily have a different culinary experience every time you visit Finneys - but it'll always be good! They also offer a variety of beers and specialty cocktails to try, too. I came here with family on my birthday last week and got their Cadillac Margarita. It tasted great - no overly sweet mix here! For my meal, I got the jalapeño Egg Burger with a side of tater tots. Wow, so good. I never even realized they have a kids menu but being here with my niece and nephew, they actually have a nice kids menu with crayons and coloring activities. We had an order of the corn dogs for the kids and honestly they looked amazing. I tried a bite of the corn breading and it was a super yummy homemade tasting batter. I've been here several times and always look forward to the food and drinks. It is located next to the movie theaters, which is convenient if you plan to continue hanging out and watch something. The restaurant usually has a wait, so be sure to arrive early or be prepared to wait around 20 minutes or even an hour. This is a restaurant with patrons who like to hablng around, especially cause there are tvs inside. There are other spots surrounding the restaurant that you can visit while waiting. Finneys has bar seating, communal bar seating, indoor, and outdoor sitting The staff is friendly and down to earth. I always appreciate the level of attention when it comes to taking our orders and checking-in on us. As for the food, there are so many great options, but my favorite go-to is the kalua pork carnitas. For the appetizer, you can't go wrong with the mini ahi poke tacos or crispy coconut shrimp. If you drink beer (I dont), they have different drafts on tap. I go for the cocktails. They're not that strong but I like the flavor. They seem to add one or two new ones every several months. Decent place to grab lunch or dinner with a friend. I've dined in here once and had take-out several times. Can't speak for their drinks but their food is pretty good. The sauces they serve here are all very good! Some food I tried, from best to okay: ------------------ Grilled Veggie pizza - Love this pizza. Smells and tastes great! The garlic crema and grilled veggies....yum!! And at $12, price is great for what you get! Crispy Coconut Shrimp - Very good!! An order comes with 6 shrimps and the size isn't bad either. Jalapeno egg burger - Enjoyed this when I actually dined in there. Delicious and didn't find it all that spicy. I do have a tolerance for spiciness though. Yolk was a lil runny, which I liked. Buffalo cauliflower - Pretty good. The sauces were great. Poke nachos - Kinda small portion but good. The sauce was interesting (wasabi flavored) and I liked it. Smoked tri-tip sandwich - Was fine. I like how their containers are paper based. If they could switch the plastic bag to a paper one it'd be perfect! Parking can take a bit if you go on a weekend. Came here on a Friday night date with my wife. We arrived and there was a 45 minutes wait. Was to be expected, it was Friday night. When we were finally able to get our table, the place was packed. But in a good way. We ordered drinks and food. My wife ordered the honey pizza and I ordered their truffle burger with some hot honey wings. The food was...ok. The pizza was dry, maybe because the honey was the sauce? Idk it just didn't sit well with us. The wings weren't spicy at all, mostly sweet. The star was definitely the burger. Came with a friend for lunch today. We both sat outside, such a perfect day today! We both ordered the trip tip sandwich, since last time I had it, it was so good! Well our sandwiches came out and it was a Philly cheese steak kind of meat. We ate it anyway because we were both starving. My friend wanted to see the manager who explained they cut the meat really thin and would make us another to go. Another manager told us they get the meat confused with the other sometime. I worked in catering for many years and even the new sandwich was the same as the first one. Not sure if quality has just gone down or way. Tina was our waitress and she did apologise. My family and I support this business at least 4 times a month we visit different locations. I usually order the ahi salad and yesterday I was at the porter ranch location when I discovered salami in my salad, small cut up salami. Cross contamination and the only thing the manager did was take off the bill which i took a bite and immediately got disgusted. I will never go back there again. I enjoyed my experience here. The food was pretty decent, I ordered a peperoni pizza, and it was huge! Due to the type of pepperoni's they use, the little ones, it tends to be more greasy than a regular pizza, but I knew that going in. Ambiance was good, I assume they must have been short staffed for a Saturday at lunch time, they had a lot of open tables and were on a 20 minute waitlist. Good/fun ambiance with the football game on, was seated relatively quickly for how busy it was, and everyone from the hostess, our server, busboys, and even the manager who checked on us were great. We got the kids pizza, taquitos, chicken wings, the pastrami sandwich and even tots. The check was very reasonable as well. My only issue, the tots! I'm a huge tater tot fan! They weren't my favorite, way too dense. But if that's all I'm complaining about it was a good night out at a place I had never tried. Unfortunately they don't take reservations so likely there will always be a wait so with a 2 hour window for happy hour try going around 3pm. We wanted to try something new. And Finney's did not disappoint. Saw the deviled eggs on the menu so I had to try it. With little red rooster in it and it was very good. The grilled cheese and tomato soup was very simple which made it perfect. The chicken club was a big serving. We're gonna end up taking half of it home. We got here just after it opened and it filled up quickly. Cameron our server was very pleasant and attentive. The place looks clean and very inviting.
