Food firehouse hero split in 4

Today I went to Firehouse Subs. I've eaten here multiple times, and today was one of the best experiences I've ever had -- every visit they deliver outstanding customer service that stands out from other places. Miguel and Andrew M were especially friendly and attentive, making the visit enjoyable. The store is impressively clean and the food quality is excellent; I ordered the Firehouse Hero and it was delicious. Highly recommend -- one of the best places to eat by the way, I went to the store off Monterey in Palm Desert

Miguel was super friendly and helpful. Great customer service. The sub (Italian) was so delicious. Talk about a cool looking themed business is this place. Looks like a real Fire House.

My brother and I decided to stop in at Firehouse Subs for Sandwiches after we hit the driving range in College of the Desert near Thousand Palms.. We ate our sandwiches there in house with our drinks. I had the Spicy Cajun Chicken Sandwich on Wheat Bread with a side of Pepperoncini Peppers. He had the Firehouse Hero Sandwich. When you Round - Up to the Next Dollar you're helping Firemen & Firewomen so it's pretty cool.

Small brisket on wheat. No flavor. Bread had an after taste. Good thing it was free with purchase. I paid for a flat drink

I ordered two medium subs. One for later to take for work. I ate the hero not that long after I ordered and it was cold. The meat didn't feel warmed up nor the bread toasted. I was very disappointed that I ordered caramelized onions for the hero and mushrooms and did not receive any. And on the brisket , there were only 4 measly mushrooms. I almost didn't notice they were in my sandwich. Really doesn't feel as if the staff paid attention to my order. I was charged for both to have them. There was only one guy infront of me and not many people in the store and I only saw one person pick up an order. There were 3 staff which is 1 more than usual so maybe an off day. Usually they're great.

My favorite fast food sandwich shop. Normally I eat the Italian but this time I tried the BBQ cuban and I really liked it. The chipotle sauce was good but mellow so I added the Captain Sorensen's Datil pepper hot sauce and it was great as always. The price is reasonable and slightly better than Subway, but Firehouse is way better than Subway. I like the "firehouse" theme in the dining area. The service was super. The staff was flexible, friendly, and I was in and out in 5 minutes. Firehouse does it right if you want a fast, fresh, tasty sandwich.

So I thought I was ordering online through yelp.... And ended up ordering thru grub hub....‍ they add additional money even though they don't do anything SO beware..... The employee at Firehouse apologized and explained what happened.... My sandwich was ready in just a few minutes but you'll receive a email stating 25-40 minutes.... WRONG.... Your order will be up quickly....this is a message you would normally receive if grub hub were delivering.... Our sandwich was good.... But it set too long because we didn't know.... Soggy bread.... Not Firehouse issue but Yelp should be sure and let the customer know you are being sent to a third party..... Firehouse is great organization that supports local first responders....

Ordered the New York style hot pastrami on rye with coleslaw and a Dr. Brown's Cream Soda. The pastrami was the highlight. Piled high, tender, and full of that classic deli flavor with just the right amount of richness. The rye bread held everything together well and had a nice bite to it. It's the kind of sandwich you have to take a second to look at before figuring out how to eat it. The coleslaw was fresh and crisp, a good balance to the sandwich, and the cream soda was cold and refreshing. Also ordered a slice of pistachio cake to go. Absolutely delicious. The place has that old school deli feel, busy but in a good way, and full of character. Service was friendly and efficient even with the crowd. Definitely a spot worth stopping at if you're in Palm Desert and want a proper deli sandwich.

Service was excellent. Seated immediately and ordering minutes later. Got extra cream cheese on request and our coffees were diligently refilled. The main attraction was the pastrami sandwich. Totally to my wife's taste, extremely lean and stacked high. She had to take half home. I tried an omelette with corned beef and loved it. The everything bagel was perfectly acceptable, not too "bready." So: service good, pastrami good, and bagel good. Everything good about a deli is covered.

The vast selections of sweets is outstanding and very delicious. And then there's the food. Your traditional Jewish deli. The food has alway been great for both breakfast and lunch. We've never been for dinner but I'm sure if lunch is great, it should be as well. Stopped by after a hike for lunch which wasn't that busy as it was Thursday. Majority of the people were dining inside as it was still pretty hot. They were only utilizing the front part of the patio the time we walked in. Service was great with our waitress. Didn't get her name but she was a doll. We both just wanted a sandwich which they do have a very good selection. As alway, pickles and sauerkraut was brought to the table. It's a classic. Sandwiches, we had the pastrami with fries (like chips) which is an addition fee as it tends to come with coleslaw or potatoes salad. And the tuna sandwich with coleslaw. Both are pretty decent in size and stuffed with meat. Pastrami was quite tasty and juicy. Only downfall, it's literally just meat and bread. You add the extras yourself, ie mustard or pickles. The tuna sandwich, with lettuce, tomatoes and red onion was quite tasty as well. The food has always been tasty and great. Portion wise are pretty big so there tends to be leftovers for a lot of people. Breakfast is a must as it's alway busy especially during the weekend. It's one of our favorite place out here in the desert.

So being from Los Angeles, where, when I was growing up, we had a fantastic Jewish delis, the idea of hitting up a place that is still around that still sells the food that I knew in love was too attractive to pass up. To say that Sherman's was a disappointment would be a massive understatement. The egg salad and chopped liver sandwich was pretty bad. First there was barely any egg salad on the sandwich at all. And the chopped liver was Bland and had a really bad consistency. You'd be better off ordering Nationwide delivery from Russ and Daughters. The matzoh ball soup with chicken and noodles was equally bland tasteless. Not to mention the fact that the matzo ball was curiously hard for should be velvety soft. The service was fine, getting my orders wrong multiple times. First, they brought me the matzoh ball soup with no noodles. Then they brought me a pastrami sandwich, even though I ordered egg salad and chopped liver. Sherman has the veneer of an old school Jewish deli with without any of the quality food. Whatever nostalgia I might've had was decimated once I started eating.

It was well after the lunch rush but it was pleasantly busy. Employees were friendly and checking on patrons, serving food and tending to empty tables. We had been waiting awhile, so I carried our number in with me and made note of the numbers they were delivering... which were higher numbers than ours, but also very random. I went to the cash register and asked the employee if they called the numbers in order. She answered politely that no they didn't. I then mentioned we were sitting outside and asked if I should wait inside for my order so they wouldn't have trouble finding us. We were not in a hurry and were trying to make it easy on the hardworking employees....and bonus that it was cool inside *At that point, a man who I perceived was a manager or maybe even the owner , turned to me from behind the counter, handed me a bag and said " Here Ma'am , GO!" Then turned back around to what he was doing. What? GO? I don't know what his intent was because I'm not a mind reader, but it felt rude and dismissive. His facial expression was as though he was busy and or annoyed. I was so surprised at his response in such an otherwise pleasant environment. I'm pretty tolerant of grumpy people (you know, sometimes there's a reason) but this just felt really icky -it was our intended destination after a hot drive from Phoenix and it did not sit well with us. I especially enjoyed the #14 The House. It's a house-made chicken salad with nuts and cranberries and comes with sprouts, tomato, mayo, salt and pepper on Squaw Bread. The cranberries adds a mild sweetness which balances out the mayo and the nuts adds another layer of crunchy texture and flavor which I loved. If I were to be honest, I wasn't too crazy about their bread. On both sandwiches, it was soft which was good, yet at the same time, just a bit stale. While the sandwiches initially seemed loaded, most of the ingredients are right in the middle of the sandwich where they slice it in half, so while it's very visually appealing, there's basically a ring near the crust of the bread that didn't have much toppings. As far as the Love The Club sandwich. I think they are a bit heavy handed with the salt. The sandwich was too salty. At $33 for two sandwiches, it's also a tad bit pricey. Overall good experience and will be back to try more !

It's tucked in a nondescript office park with plenty of parking. They were busy when we arrived, so we had a short wait, which told me it's a popular spot. My son ordered the same with a few tweaks and loved his as well. My wife went for a hot sandwich, and by the time we got back to our lodging it had melted through the bread and was a little messy. She was lukewarm about it, so I had to tease her: "To-go hot sandwiches turn into a hot mess, poor decision."
