I have no idea why this place has such low stars. I went on a Sunday with an emergency tire leak, no appointment. I interacted with 3 different guys here (on the phone, drop off, and pick up) and all of them were so over the top nice to me. They fixed my tire the same day. Great place to get your tire replaced last minute! I randomly got a flat while driving and sadly did not have a spare. I called a tow truck to bring me to this Firestone because this was the only place open to replace a tire. (Fast forward) I got to the store and unfortunately they were fully booked for the day... I did not know what I was going to do because my car was my only transportation and I was REALLY far away from home. But out of the kindness of there hearts they squeezed me in for my flat tire. The customer service is amazing! They are very kind and you can definitely tell they work very hard to get a lot done. For all the hard work I seen them do, knocking out car by car and having only a cup of noodles for lunch. I bought them some Tacobell next door for all there hard work. If you have time to leave your vehicle here for an oil change, it's worth it for $17, plus some change. If you're lucky, you can get it done quick, but most of the time, expect to lounge somewhere nearby or watch some television in the store. For me, I just bring my bike and stroll on home for a while, since I can never make it there when they open. Of course, they will try and sell you services that you may need, according to the manufacturer's suggestion on maintenance, but we all know how that is. Most of the time, we can stretch those extra few miles a little bit further. It also helps that I used to give these suggestions to customers as well when I worked in the industry. If they were faster on the oil changes, I'd boost up the stars a little more, but that's fine. I rather have them take their time versus some punk kids changing my oil at some drive thru oil change establishments. You know who they are. Was able to make an appointment online and thought it would be easy to get my oil changed between work appointments, as it is just down the street. Unfortunately having an appointment seems to mean nothing. Came back 4 hours later and my car had not been touched, after being assured it would be done "this afternoon" when I dropped it off at 2:00. Woman in line with me had been waiting for her car since her 10:00 appointment. 8 hours and her car hadn't been touched either. If you can't honor appointments don't make them. My updated review after fixing the issue myself! Just to prove how poor job these guys did and wanted to rip me off. My engine light was on and it was due to a malfunction on what's called EVAP system. I searched online on how to fix the vent valve part which just cost me $42 and took my two hours (I am not a car person believe me!). I drove my car for a while and check engine light was off! If I had listened to these guys I was going to pay $1100 because they just wanted to change the almost all parts of the EVAP system on my car! ------------------------------------------- First review after the first visit If I could give these guys minus star, I would do it. In my point of view, they are dishonest people like others reported in other places reviews. One of the worst service experience you will ever have. Those guys don't know what they are doing. Twice it has happened with me the same thing. You will call them for an appointment and they will always say one thing, come now and it will be done in a hour. Then you reach there and then the same thing. And then you you sit there for 2-3 hours and still car is just parked outside. And when u ask them why its not done when 1-1.5 hrs was mentioned they will rudely say we were busy and if you want u can take it away. Got tires from this Firestone and it came with a year of free alignments. After a while my car steering wheel was vibrating a lot when I drove so I took it in for an alignment. The guys took care of the vibration but now my steering wheel has to be slightly to the left if I want to drive straight and it pulls to the right when I let go of the steering wheel. So I took it back in for another alignment, explained the problems I was having. I get the car back later in the day, literally drives the same as before I took it in. So I take it back the next day and when I get it back the second time still NOTHING had changed. Needless to say I will not be having my car "aligned" here again, waste of my time. read more

I made an appointment the previous day an 8 AM flat tire repair. After being pitched an alignment and tires, he told me it would take about a half hour to patch my tire. I've now been sitting here for an hour and a half and am literally the only person here. Terrible, overpriced service. Go to pacific tires, not this sleaze hole. Update: They told me they will not patch my tire because they are "cracking" and I would need to purchase all new tires as they would be liable for any damage. I've been going to this Firestone for simple jobs such as oil changes, tire rotations, and tire replacements for a few years now. They are always very friendly and provide detailed information on your service. I generally leave my car there all day for any maintenance while I'm work, so I can't attest to the speediness of their service, but I'd recommend dropping your car of early to avoid long waits. They do try to sell you on just about every upgraded service they offer. And if you're the type of person who doesn't like to deal with that, then consider this a warning. But as long you know to expect it, and are properly informed about what you need done ahead of time, then it shouldn't be a problem. Aside from that, I've always been 100% satisfied with anything that I get done here. Also, Firestone usually offers pretty good coupons for the basic services, so you can get good maintenance done rather inexpensively. read more

Went into this Firestone to get my tire patched, quick service; needed the nail out, patch in. He attempted to sell me this and that, acting like I didn't know what service was needed on my vehicle. I stay on top of the service on my Mazda; didn't need the interview, but I also understand: someone is telling him to say these things to everyone that walks in the door. I sat and watched tv, same nasty television on as in every repair shop, judge judy. A young couple walked in to retrieve their car, the manager goes "we tried to get a hold of you" customer goes "oh?" manager "yeah, is your cell phone on?" that hit a nerve, folks don't need a babysitter (alright some folks do :) ) but I am a Firestone fan, went to only Firestone when I lived on the east coast but now I'm glad there's a Mazda shop just down the road. I went into firestone to get my front disk brakes replaced on my work service van. I was charged 149.99 basic brake replacement. Then I was contacted minutes later. The service man attempted to up-sell lifetime packages and he slowly worked his way down the script from high to low packages. I clearly informed him that I ONLY required the basic brake maintenance. After he was finished trying to sell other packages, he then proceeded by indicating that it would cost an additional 50+ dollars because the wheel bearings must be removed and greased in order to complete the job. I felt that this information should have been provided before while I was at the shop. All in all, I believe that their standard pricing is "okay", however the whole salesman mentality can be overbearing to those who are inadequately equipped to react with firm and confident "no"s. I've patched tires here before and they do a quick, cheap and great job. If you live nearby and want something decent and local, I would go here. Be sure to always to your research by phone shopping around at different auto shops so that you know what needs to be accomplished and know the market prices because I feel that the sales pitches are pushy. I would go here again for very basic and small jobs but not anything major. Don't be afraid to ask all the questions and dig deep. read more

I have mixed feeling about this joint. The first time I came to replace a battery for CRV, it went smooth and done in 45 minutes in July 13. In May this year, I went to replace a dead battery for Pilot and it took 3 hours. Not only that, their credit card (Credit First, N.A.) did not send statement in time (just got today) and there is a penalty (in addition to interest)? This is the first time I see credit card company charge both so it is a scam, don't apply for credit there, period. p.s. Caught a pothole on the freeway today. Called tire shops and dealerships all around the Bay Area to find out only two shops had the specific tires I was in need of. Both in Milpitas (I live in SF and was in San Carlos when I lost the life of one tire) First shop confirmed the tire was at their warehouse, then called back a couple hours later to say they were wrong. George at Firestone originally answered my call and confirmed he had TWO of the tires I needed. Not only did he NOT sell them or send them to other locations but he was kind enough to stay open later for me to come by after closing (towing and traffic made timing difficult). I stayed in contact with George to let him know my ETAs and he was cool with staging a little later. His team took care of the tires as quickly as they could and got me back on the road in under 1 hour Thank you George and the Firestone team for saving the day! read more

One of my tail lights burned out and I took my car to them to see if they can replace the bulb. They said it would cost $102 ($2.99 for the bulb itself and $99 labor). When I asked why it was so expensive, they told me that it takes about ~40 minutes to get the bulbs out. I went to another auto repair shop nearby and the guy fixed in it under 5 minutes and charged me $20. Please don't go here. They are rude and they quote outrageous prices. read more

Do not come here, I brought my car in for shaking over 45mph they told me it was the cv boot I paid $560 for the repair. I picked my car up and it was we still not fixed and there was a crack in the windshield that was not there prior. Took the car back and they did the repair but then it had an oil leak. Called back and they tried to tell me it was already already leaking which was not true. When I picked up my car the cover underneath the car was dragging and my hood was not shut all the way. On Dec 2, I went in to change rotor and break, yet the same time, my husband found out that the hood support rod broke and could not suspend the hood any more. Today when I went in for appointment to ask them to fix it and Paul, the manager, asked me "how did we break it?" He knew well that I could not other wise prove they broke it, but never told me why after the appointment with them, the same day, it is not working. He just gave my key back and walked out of me without apology at all. This is rude and unprofessional and I cannot believe this guy can be a manager there just to cover their business. Horrible customer service. Avoid this location if you're getting "free" stuff done, like using your lifetime alignment. They prey on the people who don't understand cars. I only bring my car to Firestone to get my wheels aligned and tires rotated and so far I've been at this particular location 3 times. First time coming here, customer service was great (probably because we were purchasing a set of tires and lifetime alignment), however the 2nd and 3rd time coming here were all disappointments. Mike (or Michael), was the guy who helped out me and my fiance's car and both times, he would insistently try to up-sell despite the fact that we repeatedly told him just an alignment and rotation is all we wanted (which is a free service to us because we purchased the lifetime alignment and warranty for the tire rotation). Mike also announced they do not take online appointments on weekends because "it won't be fair for everyone and we only take appointments during the weekdays". How about the people who actually took the time to make an appointment? How is this being fair to us? I understand Saturdays and Sundays are busy for mechanics, but appointments should come first before walk-ins. Period. This kind of BS won't fly at DMV or any other places where you make appointments or reservations. Why even have this option on their website if they don't take appointments? I didn't have a polite way to say this so I kept my mouth shut during that time, plus this is our only car and challenging him might jeopardize our car. Not a fight worth picking. Oh speaking of polite. Don't let Mike fool you with his wordy politeness. He's a fake. I don't believe he cares about his customers. We told him something about how we handle our car maintenance and something about what we said my fiance and I can tell he disapproves of because he kept asking us the same question about it like he's in disbelief or something. Also, the lifetime alignment card that we gave to them, one of our visits we forgot to take back, and we came back maybe 5 minutes later to pick it up. Within those 5 minutes, he managed to forget about us. He saw us and asked us his opening line as if we're a brand new customer for that day. My fiance told him he came back for the lifetime alignment card and Mike gave my fiance a blank stare and really had no clue what my fiance was talking about. Eventually he figured it out that he lost it and gave us a new one with a giant footprint on the back. Lastly, after coming to this location, each horrible experience rewarded us with the lost of a hub cap because they were not put on securely and flew off when we drove on the freeway. All the bad reviews here are true! Simply put, it's just plain ghetto in this establishment. Poop Holes like these should be put on an undercover sting with hidden cameras and microphones. It might happen at a Firestone near you! Screwy service, phantom problems, simple tire rotation/oil change results to dramatic "issues" identified by the "entry level techs". Fortunately, I was not the victim who fell for their shady scams, but a friend of mine did. Drive in with a perfectly functional vehicle (for routine maintenance) and you won't be able to drive out because of newly identified problems prevents you from leaving. Really? Yeah, it could happen, but read the reviews, and they are all true!! The car drove fine coming in. After dropping the vehicle off, "we found this "wrong", oh and that's also "broke". Up-sell, up-sell, and up-sell, NO? OK, we'll break a few parts and make up the lost sale this way - most uninformed customers unfortunately fall for their word. And, each store is out there to "beat" other locations in their region, so I'm not surprised by their tactics. You got to look for genuine independent shops & avoid Firestone and other chains (MIDAS, FIRESTONE, JIGGLY LUBE, Oil Changers, etc). I can't comment that all locations are dirty, but this location is definitely proven to be "straight jackin them customers". I brought my Jeep in for a failed fuel pump. The cost to replace the fuel pump and labor was $994.00. They worked on it on Sunday and they called me on Monday telling me the car was done. I drove the car 50ft from the shop around closing time and the check-engine light turned on. 2 codes popped up. One, a short circuit off of the fuel pump assembly and second, a major emissions evap leak. I took the car back again on that same night so they could work on it. They called me and told me the tech cleaned the line that had a short and the gas cap was loose the caused the evap leak which they lied about... I checked the gas cap and it was on tight. They reset the codes and told me my car was ready. Started the car in the morning and the check engine light turned on again. I took the car back again... now its Thursday my car has been in there almost all week. They ran a tracer in the evap line and now tells me that the evap pump is bad. I talked to the mechanic and I told him I drove the car from Tahoe and back and LA and back and I had never had a check engine light before. I told him they had to fix this, how do I know whether the short in the line and the work they did on the fuel pump didn't damage the evap pump? I told them I'm not going to pay for something the messed up and the Allan, tells me very rudely, "Well Ill put you car back together and you can take it then.... You can drive with the CHECK ENGIINE light on, it will be fine...." If I was an idiot I was do just that and drive the car with a check engine light on and not know it another problem may occur that actually may be serious and never know because the check engine light is already on. They now was me to pay MORE to fix this problem I believe they caused. Going on to Friday, the car is still in their shop. They keep insisting the check engine light was already on when I brought it in. I will never bring my car or refer ANYONE here. I'ts a disaster . I should have read the reviews on this place before I decided to bring my car here. I filed a claim with Bridgestone Corperate. UPDATE: 12/18/2010 When they called us and told us our car was complete, Drive home in to our drive-way and smell gas inside the car.... Inspect the rear where the work had been done and found GAS leaking out onto the ground. WTF. I have kids and these people failed to inpect the car properly before giving it back!!! This place is terrible, I bought a lifetime alignment package from Firestone which they refused to honor, at first saying that they cannot find my car in the system. When I then produced the receipt, they said that my (100% stock BMW) was too low to get on the lifts and refusing to do the work. I have not had this problem at any other Firestone and only went here due to the proximity to my work. "Always get a written confirmation of any price you have been offered." Unfortunately cant give a 0 here so have to rate 1 star. All they are trying to do is fleece the customer and squeeze as much money out of you as possible. Firstly there are two people at the front desk, one in the morning is James and the one in the afternoon is Steve, and they are accomplices. When you ask one about the other they throw their hands up! I went to them for a timing belt change(James at counter). When I asked him for a quote he came up with a 1200$ quote! When I told him just couple of months back he had given me a 400$ quote he checked back at old records and agreed for that price. He also asked me if I need to change the water pump because he said it can be done while changing the timing belt and would just cost the price of the part. When he showed me the quote it was only a difference of about 100$ between the two. I did not think replacing the water pump was necessary and so I asked him to only change the timing belt. Then they called me back, and this time it was steve. He said I should also change the outer belt which is worn out. Did not know what that was so agreed to that which was another 72$. When I asked him to change water pump as well this time he gave me a quote of 136$ for the pump and also said I have to pay for difference in labour and from somewhere brought up a 432$ labour quote for the water pump! So the 100$ difference one day was upto to 250$ the next day! Now Steve says he doesnt know what James talked about, so I have to speak with James. Next day when I drop by to speak with James, he puts up a smiling face and deceives me showing a new rate of 109 for the pump, when I ask him if that is all that I need to pay he says yes! So I leave making the mistake of not getting the new work order printed! When I come back in the evening the labor difference is again there in the bill! And obviously Steve-O does not know anything about it, so I go back to speak to James next morning. He makes excuses and says the labor charge was always there! And I have to pay up because they have already done work on the car. Beware, always get ur work order with the prices printed out. And be careful about any suggestions on the phone. Not only have they lost a customer for life, I will make sure others are warned. read more

Had tires replaced twice, then my brakes replaced, but after a few months they never felt right. My car battery died on me one day while pumping gas and the next day I called costco, walmart, and pepboys and no one could replace my car battery on such short notice. I called Firestone and the manager said he could take a look at it. Thank goodness, I took my car in and was expecting to wait an hour and he replaced me battery for $167 and in half an hour. Even O'Reily Auto wanted me to come and drop off the car and wait a day. Thank you Firestone! I will be coming back for an oil change this week. read more

I hope someone in Management at Firestone would read these reviews and act on them. I would avoid this store for all car maintenance issues. I didn't purchase tires at this store so I can't comment on that issue. We moved here from the Midwest in 2010 and I hadn't had the time to research car repair shops. This store is within walking distance from our home and has Saturday and Sunday hours so I tried it first. After I brought the car #1 in, I was talked into buying new struts and a lifetime wheel alignment when I wanted only an oil change and tire rotation. The coupon for the cheap oil change is a way to lure customers. When I picked the car up I asked to see the old struts and was told they were already gone. The old oil change sticker was still on the windshield. I don't have complete confidence that anything was done. They must have touched the tires because 8 months later when the tires were rotated again at another shop, I was informed that all of the wheel lugs were not tight and one was missing. I had our car #2 serviced there shortly after car #1. I was talked into a vehicle inspection and fuel system cleaning when I intended to get an oil change and tire rotation. They reported that a "nail" was stuck in the one of the tires and I paid for that repair as well. Again in hindsight I'm not totally convinced that all these services were rendered and believe the nail problem was a lie. Too bad I won't be using the lifetime wheel alignment on car #1 and feel cheated. I fault myself for not doing enough due diligence on this shop and did not seriously question and observe every service item I paid for. Since there is no trust with this shop I'll avoid Firestone for the foreseeable future. read more

I was recently looking for a place to get an alignment and the firestone lifetime alignment quickly caught my eye. I went to the firestone complete auto care website, filled out a quote for MY SPECIFIC MAKE, MODEL, YEAR, and trim of car. $169!!! Of course I'll take that! What a deal. I called this firestone location to set up an appointment and wanted to confirm that I could use THE QUOTE I GOT FROM THE FIRESTONE WEBSITE FOR MY SPECIFIC CAR. The woman quickly told me my car was an exotic, and that those cost more than regular cars. She said that the price online was not for my car. I told her I was confused because I FILLED OUT MY SPECIFIC CAR INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE WHICH AGAIN INCLUDES YEAR, MAKE, MODEL, TRIM. On the quote it says $169 for a lifetime alignment OF MY SPECIFIC CAR. The woman proceeded to say there must be a misunderstanding, IMPLYING OF COURSE THAT I MISUNDERSTOOD the quote. WHAT IS THERE ABOUT A QUOTE THAT CAN BE MISUNDERSTOOD???? I FILLED OUT FOR MY SPECIFIC CAR, GOT A PRICE, TRIED TO REDEEM AT THIS LOCATION AND THEY WOULDN'T ACCEPT IT. I then asked the woman, "So are you telling me that you won't accept this quote, or is the firestone website producing inaccurate quotes that local shops are not willing to accept?" She responded saying I had an exotic, and that those cost more than non-exotic cars. I asked her, "So, then I guess you're saying the website is producing inaccurate information?". She sarcastically said no. I ended the call and said I"ll take my business elsewhere. Fortunately for me I found a place nearby my house that did great work. Alignment was great. Won't look anywhere else from now on. *if i find out the website is at fault I will certainly update my review. But keep in mind that customer service was not great either, and I really felt this issue could have been dealt with much better by Firestone staff. read more

(sigh) After reading the employees' reviews on glassdoor.com about Firestone, I have to admit, it's not the employees' fault for being deceptive. It's the pressure from upper management to drive up sales and increase profit, so essentially, the corporate managers are the role players here. Now I feel bad for the employees who have to put up with this "drive up sales" and not "care for customers vehicles" environment. Firestone isn't a tire & service center, it's a money making scam in the auto industry. read more
