I recently moved to San Antonio from Austin back in June with a new car but all of a sudden my car wouldn't start. I went here to get a new battery and Abel helped me out. At the time, San Antonio was in the middle of a thunderstorm and the power went out 3 times while he was trying to put my information in the computer. if i can give this experience a 0 i would. i went in for a simple patch and they told me on phone it will be 10-20$ and i went up there and they gave me a woping 30$ price!! i was like wth? they only gave me that price due to the size of my tire which is a 19 inch and that is not supposed to be 30$ and then they checked my tire and said that they couldnt do it because its in the outer zone where they cant patch so this is bs since i am a tire mechanic myself and i left everything back home at houston, anyways i asked for a plug instead and the only option they gave me was to buy a tire.. a tire that was not even on stock and that was the only option?? i literally got my tires less than 8 months ago and they are in very good quality because i dont drive very far around SA. First two calls were immediately avoided. When I finally spoke to a guy he says he can't tell me how much it is to replace a front engine splash shield unless I come in...wtf. I push him to tell me because that's ridiculous. He then starts typing, try's to sound smart and say the metal piece that comes with the guard will be around 150-200...good thing everything is online where I clearly saw the price for the metal piece is 20 bucks and the guard that it's placed on is also around 20 bucks. I went in for a basic oil change, alignment, tire rotation and air and came out with my car smelling VERY strongly of oil which has never happened despite the nature of the job. After three days of this, I figured it was definitely abnormal. I took it to Valvoline. Turns out, Firestone completely left the oil cap off, oil was sloshing all over the place and dripping from the bottom. The gasket and cap weren't even replaced and I was informed that the oil was close to empty by the time it had been brought to Valvoline. Go figure. Valvoline gave me an oil change for half price since I literally just paid for one. Last time I went to Firestone for only an oil change, it took four hours (AFTER I had already made an appointment) for me to angrily take my car back and get it done at Express Tire and Oil within ten minutes and now this. I had 4 tires installed. 3 under warranty. When I checked the invoice I noticed that they had overcharged me. The big overcharge was on the 8.25 % tax. Subtotal shown on invoice is $378.64.They charged me tax (8.25%) $62.39. I called the manager Mike on 5/05 and he told me that there was nothing that he could do about it and hung up on me. I called their customer service number on May 5, 2024 and they told me that someone would be contacting me. No one has contacted me. I have several emails letting them know that problem has not been resolved and they keep reassuring me that someone is working on it but today is June 3, 2024 and still no one from Firestone's main office has contacted me to resolve this error. read more

We called and set a appointment to have work done on vehicle. We dropped it off at 11am for it appointment. We were told it be ready at lunch or just after. We were think great we will hit catch a movie and some lunch. Came back at 4 pm . It was not even be touched.... We were told it was because some additional work had came in . With no regards to our vehicle. If they would have done what we asked they we have seen it might have needed tires, and other services but he did not care. We started having problems with our clutch and this place was closest. They charged me $100 non- refundable to do a "diagnostic check" and that took 45 minutes, then gave a quote for $2000. That was worth more than the car so we said we'd take it home. The car would not go into gear at all, and we spoke with the manager to find out the problem. They claimed that they didn't do anything (so much for $100) but that the fluid just leaked out.. Even though we could still drive in 1st and 2nd and their person was able to drive around the block before putting it on a lift, and there was no evidence of a leak where we had been parked. It took a lot of arguing before the manager would call a tow truck at their expense.. Then we wait nearly 2 hours, but now we're home. read more

This was one of the worst experiences i have ever had with Firestone. I came in to check a tire pressure light. I arrived at 3:30 pm and they told me it should take an hour and a half to look at my car. I decided to wait for the car inspection. So at 6 pm i as the guy is he going to get a chance to look at my car and he said no and hand me my keys. He had me sit there the whole time knowing that my car was not going to get looked at and just said sorry. This was a total lack of respect for customers. I have been going to Firestone Complete Auto Care for the last 15 year in multiple state and have been happy up until today. I will take my business elsewhere where from now on. read more

So I usually really like this firestone I've been going since I moved from Baltimore in July. The past two (well 3 including today) times they overfilled my back tires, last time I went I asked again for them to fill to the sticker specs on the door and they again overfilled my back tires. I went again today for an oil change and when I dropped it off I specifically said manufacturer specs for my car is 35 psi front and 30 psi back, they tried to tell me it was the heat and they followed that (they didn't all tires were 35, which was confirmed later when I picked up my car this time). When I returned to pick up my car they were all 35 again... the clerk told me her mechanic said the sticker said 35 front and 35 rear, I had to physically walk to my car with her to show her it actually in reality says 35 psi front 30 psi rear... while the mechanic was not happy about that and mumbled something about that not making sense he did fix my back tires... usually my service here is very good despite this issue I've had the past several times. I didn't appreciate how I was treated, like I didn't know what my specs were and that I was wrong. I will reconsider coming here again for my next oil change - even though it's the closest Firestone. read more

Took my truck in on a Saturday and rep calls me back w a list of things that are not what I took it in for. When I ask what is cause to sound I took it in for and he has no information. Then calls me back and tells me it's power steering and I ask if my warranty will cover and he says "probably not". I ask him I need definitive answer and he says I need to call insurance. What!?!?!? This kid is completely lost and just throwing out garbage info. Complete money grab service. Very disappointing. Stay away. Can't wait to get my truck out of there. read more

I've come to this particular Firestone a few time now in the past year and a half. They have always taken care of me in a timely manner. I needed an alignment today after having a steering g rack out into my 4runner. Called like I normally do for an appointment but I was told just to come in and that they can take care of me. So within the hour I pulled in (3pm). Sure enough, I sign on the dotted line and the truck was on the bay within 2 minutes. 30 minutes later, I was told that the alignment was done. Granted the back was perfect and the front was out of spec minimally, but they had me in and out quickly! I drove all around my side of town looking for a place my vehicle safety inspection. After one place told me they didn't have any window stickers due to missing their delivery the previous day, three shops not having the right person on duty to do the inspection, 1 place closed when they were supposed to be open, and 2 other places that were so busy it would take 1.5 hours to get my car in, I finally pulled into Firestone. I told the guy that I needed to get this done quick because of my schedule. He said they were quite busy, and it appeard to be true, but that he'd see what he could do. He disappeared into the bays and came back 2 minutes later telling me they'll hook me up. Less than 15 minutes later, and down just $14.50, I was pulling out of the place. While I can't vouch for any other services they perform, I'd gladly go back to Firestone when my other vehicle's inspection is due. read more

Customer service needs a total face lift. I brought a rental in (as instructed) and was immediately informed it would be a 1 to 1.5 hour wait. I was a little taken back n informed her that I was sent in by rental company n I had an appointment. The appointment was suppose to be for a simple tire patch repair. The girl took my keys n walked away. She didn't say anything, I took a seat and proceeded to awkwardly wait: during that time the window to the bay would be slammed Open/close. While in the waiting room you can feel the uneasiness of the shop. Ppl didn't say much. When customers walked in, they too received the same energy I received: little to no greeting n the rep was very short with customer, my wife described her as a "sour puss". If you need tire services. I would recommend going to discount tire down the road. Thank god for phone cus it really took this slow repair shop 1.5 hours for a simple tire patch. read more

Not a happy customer first they misquote my price, then overcharge me for a battery, then after an additional day almost from expected finish date and talking with management finally got it corrected. Paid $380. Then i pick up my car and it still does not work. Now saying this solution will fix it but im being charge an another $300. Not only am I losing my confidence in taking my vehicle here, but i feel being taking advantage of. Do your due diligence before check prices on parts and services before coming here. Unless someone contacts me and does some serious damage control soon, I'll be posting this review to every online platform there is. Thanks to Travis Thetford, Service "Mangler", trying to rip me off by FAILING to honor a quote from Pablo and Shay, this location will be selling me ZERO tires and alignment, instead of 3 tires and an alignment. In fact, Firestone/Bridgestone may lose my brand loyalty altogether, as I may be compelled to choose Michelin or Goodyear from now on. I am absolutely LIVID at this poor excuse for customer service. I've been waiting 5 days for Travis to be there, as he left early 2 days and didn't show up for work Saturday. On 14 April 2021, Pablo and Shay gave me a quote and said if I'd replace all 4 tires instead of just 2, they'd give me 1 tire free in lieu of the standard military discount. I had a road hazard warranty that would pay for 1 tire, and they said I'd need Travis to deal with the insurance company. They both assured me that the quote would be honored and if anything, it would be a BETTER price. Today, 19 April 2021, I finally got to talk to Travis. He said I'd have to pay full price, NOT honoring the quote from Pablo and Shay last week, despite waiting 5 DAYS TO SEE HIM. He tried convincing me that since the insurance company was paying for 1 tire, that I was "still getting 1 tire for free", though still paying out of pocket for 3. WRONG, GENIUS, because I paid $463 for the road hazard insurance policy!!! Does Andrew Garcia, Managing Partner, and Firestone/Bridgestone corporate management support and condone this type of attempted trickery? This violates Harvey Firestone's ideals, with this sign on the Culebra store's wall: "I believe fundamental honesty is the keystone of business." What about this one: "Our company is built on people - those who work for us, and those we do business with." Travis Thetford's actions violate both of these! read more

I've had an issues with my Trucks idle while AC running and randomly shutting off while stopping for years now. No one could fix the problem until I took it to these guys at Firestone and now my truck is running like a champ. They are a little more expensive for my budget, but you definitely get what you pay for and these guys fix it right! I went to get my tire plugged for a slow leak, first off I don't think they realized I was there when they were done working on my car and the tech took off driving it down the road basically on two wheels and when I asked what the reasoning was the man checking me out said it was so the light goes off. When I got in the car the light was still on and I didn't even make it 2 miles down the road before the tire went flat after they "repaired" it. I called and got the car back up there and they guy at the front desk calls me and says I was the reason it went flat because I must have hit something in the exact place the plug was in. After arguing with the guy I took the car to discount tire down the road and they confirmed IT WAS NOT MY FAULT. I called and asked to speak to a manager and they never called back. I got brake pads and rotors replaced a few weeks ago, about a week or two later my brakes started squeaking. Brought it back in so they can check it and I thought the issue would be resolved and a few days later they are still squeaking. I was told to bring my car back so they can look at it again. They do quality work but it is to expensive. I know they say the parts are covered by warranty but an ac actuator for 80 dollars. The mopar one i would buy was only at most 40 dollars. After they replaced it it a few days later i started having power issues. Took it back and coincidentally my alternator went out and it would cost me about a grand to replace. I came in because my Jeep starting overheating. I didn't want to get ripped off at a dealership and this was the closest place to me I could drive without my car overheating. The gentleman I talked to on the phone was extremely kind and helpful. I brought it in and they did their testing and turns out my water pump was leaking. The military discount saved me almost $200 and the guy I dealt with (I want to say his name was Jake?) was just phenomenal. I had tires put on my car at the Firestone on Culebra Road and spent $1,000+, the techs said nothing at that time about my rotars or my brake pads being bad. Just on 9/26/18; a month after having tires put on my Equinox I had to take it back to have a wheel bearing replaced and again NOTHING said about my rotars or brake pads; only that I needed to take it to the dealership to have my EPS or Electronic Power Steering System reprogrammed. So on 9/27/18 I took it to the dealership where I was told that did not need to be done, however my car was so unsafe to drive because I had no brake pads left AND no rotars. That if I were to hit my brakes very hard my rotars would "shatter"! So I called Firestone and basically was told their "Master Tech" would not have missed this. ALL 4 rotars and brake pads were bad! I ended up having to buy another car or put another $800 in my car after already spending $1700 in two months. I am not impressed with Firestone. I have my child in my car with me often and my car was unsafe and they knew it and chose to say NOTHING! read more

Finally gave up and filed a complaint for my money back. OVER 3 weeks of multiple phone calls each week without response. Told I was referred to area, district, regional, and division management. Finally after a BBB filing someone finally called back. Was told the shop was closing out the complaint tickets before it could be forwarded (probably a line). On 12/29/2015, I took my car to a random auto shop for the State Vehicle Inspection. The inspector stated that my car did not pass the inspection because my front brakes were "metal on metal." He also stated that he could have the brakes replaced and fixed for $99. This raised red flags for me for many reasons. First, my front brakes were just replaced about 4 to 5 months ago - there's no way they'd already be metal on metal. Second, I've driven my car when the brakes were metal on metal - I know what it feels like, and I know what it feels like when they're nearly metal to metal. My car was not exhibiting any of these signs. Because of this, I told him my husband wanted to check out my brake pads first. I then had to pay him the $7.00 inspection fee. So, today, 12/30/2015, I took my car to Firestone for a second opinion. This inspector, Nathan Mallick, said my front brakes were fine, and that the rotors would need to replaced eventually, but they were still perfectly acceptable and worked well - and that there was no reason my car should have failed inspection. And, little did I know, Firestone also does State Inspections! So I asked them to re-do the inspection (there was no way I was going back to get swindled at the other place), and my car passed. Of course, I've had enough positive experiences with Firestone that, had he told me the other guy was correct, I would have taken his word for it. When one calls to set an "appointment ", one would expect that the set "appointment " would be followed. NOT the case here at FIrestone. This is the 3rd time I have set an "appointment " and have been burned by these folks. You might ask why I would be taken advantage of 3 times? Well, I've been coming to Firestone for over 25 years (different locations across the country). As a small business owner, I work very hard to create reasons for my clients to be loyal to my business so they keep coming back. But when is loyalty NOT enough? When is enough be the line in the sand and say "I'm done". I can't figure if they are under staffed (due to the low unemployment rate here in SA) or it is time mis-management. If you looked at this review by what I have said thus far, you might wonder why I gave it 2 stars rather than 0 stars. Here's why: the store manager and service advisors are nice, knowledgeable, professional and welcoming when you come into the store. The work the technicians do has always been completed correctly. Those 2 reasons alone earn 5 stars. But the overall experience brings it to a 2 star rating. Even on a Saturday when I may have more time to wait, taking 1.5 hours to perform an oil change and tire rotation is unacceptable. Having an appointment and having to endure an 1.5 hour wait is even more unacceptable. My recommendation is 2 fold:: 1 - if you need extensive repairs and have to drop off, I'm sure this is e place to come. 2 - if you have extended time to sit and wait, this is the place to come. Went in to get a state inspection. Took 45 minutes...not that big of a deal, except when they input my vehicle's VIN in the system they input it incorrectly. Skip forward to the next day. I went to the DMV to renew my registration and the attendant tells me the inspection form had the VIN incorrectly loaded. He said I would have to return to Firestone to have it corrected. So, I drive back across town to Firestone and informed the lady at the counter of the error. She simply takes my form and hands it to a technician who fixed it ten minutes later. Easy, simple fix. This whole situation was frustrating when the you drive back and forth for such a small error. I completely understand people make mistakes. My problem here is that you would think I would have at least gotten an apology. So much for customer service at this Firestone! Guess who won't be recommending future customers here. read more
