If someone is looking for an example of what bad customer service looks like go to San Marcos Firestone. I went 3 months ago to fix my A/C. After paying close to $400 A/C was fixed. They showed me what they changed and it seemed that they added a new part which I was not familiar with it but it worked well until now. 3 months passed and A/C is broken went in and they took 3.5 hours to tell me what was wrong. Basically I needed to pay $250 to fix this new problem in the A/C. I said no thank you and after expressing how bad the customer service is the guy offered to just pay the labor and the company would get the rest. Labor was $120. At this point I was so mad and done with the terrible customer service that I said no to the deal and prefer to try another shop that I can hopefully trust. I'm new to the city and Firestone will not be my car Doctor. read more

My daughter attends college in San Marcus and I live in Burnet Texas so when she called me and said the car was overheating I told her to take it to Firestone because I believed I could trust them. They did a series of diagnostics that cost me $185 and determined that the head gasket was blown and recommended an engine replacement. My daughter was devastated thinking she had blown up the car. I had the vehicle towed to my house 100 miles away where my local mechanic whom I trusted performed all of the same tests and determined that none of the things that firestone told me were true and that the radiator just needed water. There was nothing else wrong with the car. I then drove the car around town and could not get it to overheat again and then drove the car over a 100 miles back to the Firestone in San Marcus where I informed Nick the manager of the situation and he said that he trusts his tests and did not know my mechanic and felt confident that you could drive a car with a blown head gasket almost 200 miles without it overheating. Nick accepted 0 responsibility and showed no remorse. I no longer trust Firestone. read more

Just a couple months ago I dropped over 520 dollars on a new set of tires. Today one COMPLETELY BLEW TO PIECES. so I called firestone to set up having it replaced because when I purchased them the STORE MANAGER told me that we got everything included and the tires are covered. Now that I need them to replace my tire all of a sudden I don't have road insurance? When the manager told me I did. Now the service manager Edward wants to be an asshole on the phone to a pregnant woman! Just great. I would never go to this location because as soon as it's time to replace their piece of crap tires suddenly their computer system doesn't show what I have purchased. So 500 dollars down the drain because they lost the warranty and insurance I purchased. Their customer service is downright TERRIBLE. Way to take advantage of people already struggling. I came in initially for a tire alignment only to find out that my car needed much more than that. Granted I am a female, so I may not know more than just your basic terminology. The sales associate that 'helped' me immediately tried to upsale me in services I didn't immediately need. When I politely declined, he tried using a scare tactic by using terminology that I did not understand. Needless to say, I got the services he recommended but I couldn't help but feel he was taking advantage of my lack of knowledge. we borrowed a friend's truck to move some furniture from san marcos to austin, and got a flat on the freeway. in a pinch on a sunday evening, these guys were friendly, quick and helpful. they swapped out our tire and the full-size spare (stored underneath the truck, not easy to access) for FREE. they wouldn't even let me tip 'em. great dudes! read more

Took my car in and had the timing belt changed. Got it back and I didn't make it a quarter of a mile down the road and had to turn around and take it back. It was making a noise it wasn't making before taking it in, and a new check engine light came on with a new code related to the work that was done. Check the reviews of any Firestone location you consider. I would not recommend this location. This wasn't the first time I've had to take my vehicle back to there for work not done completely or correctly. read more

Had my son take his truck for a diagnostic test for a misfire on cylinder 5 code. I knew what the issue was but he is in college and im too far away to fix any issues myself. They said he needed new spark plugs and a fuel system treatment costing almost $700??? One spark plug was priced at $26 . I have never seen any spark plug cost that much I am not a master mechanic by any means but I know more than the average person. I told him to decline the service and I will change them out my next trip there. Well later that evening (about an hour after) his truck started to run hot and water was leaking out the bottom of the radiator. This was not an issue until he left this place now all of a sudden he has this problem. Very shady and im not convinced this was a coincidence we found holes in the bottom of the radiator. I will be investigating this more. Just a warning to others watch out you will leave with more problems than you had. read more

Watch out! Their parts pricing is ridiculous. I needed a water pump and was quoted $935 for the pump alone. I called the parts department and was told that I could pick up the identical part for $535! I went elsewhere and will never go to a Firestone's store again. For you locals, I would suggest that you go to Reliable Automotive in San Marcos. Good people, good work and fair pricing. BTW, their price for that same part was $484. read more

I brought my car here because I still have time left on a year alignment and it was not driving right and brought it by to two different guys they had and big times they couldn't find the problem. They blamed my car because it's a corvette it's hard to work on but another shop found the problem within 30 minutes... don't waste your time for how much they charge you would think they would have it together. read more

I went in yesterday because I needed an oil change and I have a rental with enterprise right now and they have a contract with Firestone. I am astounded by the lack of customer service and communication. There was NO ONE in the store and it took a total of 1.5 hours for a simple oil change. I have gotten my oil changed many times and I know how long it's supposed to take...maybe 30 minutes. I kept asking how much longer it would be and I kept hearing a few more minutes with no explanation of why. The reviews on yelp are accurate. Not somewhere I will ever spend my money. read more

I Love this location because everytime I go in for an oil change they are fast and courteous. I love the appointments because they get right to you when you arrive. I made my appointment Wednesday evening and the gentleman said your appoinment is at 7:00 am we will have you outta here by 7:30am and sure enough they were backing my car out at 7:27 am on Thursday morning. Wheel damage, wheel damage, and more wheel damage. Had to come back twice for repair and just found another wheel damaged by your incompetent technicians. 3 out of 4 of my wheels chipped or marred. I will be up to get my other wheel repaired and will no longer bring my business. Dont waste your time bringing you new car in for the first tire change to these guys. Horrible horrible customer service. Went in there two days ago with my boyfriend because I had blown a tire. They were nice enough to me then. After putting the tire on it was not tracking straight so I brought it in the next day by myself, explained the problem clearly and suggested they look at the alignment. The worker then proceeded to tell me it was probably an alignment problem. I needed to get it checked out. (I just said that) I waited for the car and two and a half hours later my dad called me and told me they had called him with the problem. I was sitting there the whole 2.5 hours and nobody had mentioned a thing to me. At checkout I got a rather condescending "did someone explain it to you?" rather implying I was not capable of understand anything under the hood. I informed him that my father had to call me after no one had even come to update me on anything even though I hadn't moved once the whole time. They knew I was staying. I had gone to two body shops before I went in for my oil change and no one pointed out my wheel to me. They explained to me my options and helped me pick the best one. I don't understand why this place has received such great reviews. I went in for a simple alignment fix, for which I was told would cost me $69.99. However, it turns out that my car NEEDED "special" parts ordered in order to fix my alignment. This would increase my price to $152. I am a female, liberal arts, graduate student. Cars are not exactly my specialty. I decided to suck it up and pay the price to fix my car. The guy (at the front desk) went on to tell me that they would be able to fix my car the following morning and to come back at that time. This was also not a problem. I came in at the time I was told, and my car was fixed. Once everything was wrapped up, I was told the price would be $252! I was outraged. I had no choice but to pay the fine. I ended up going to Goodyear, where they told me they could have fixed my car at a much cheaper price, and the "special" parts I NEEDED were actually not required to fix my alignment at all. These men took complete advantage over my lack of knowledge about cars and charged me an outrageous price for a simple fix. I HIGHLY recommend to avoid Firestone at all cost. read more
