TLDR; Make them test your new battery before leaving with it. I bought a battery to replace in my truck. I took the battery out at home and brought it in. They order their batteries from autozone so it took an hour to get there which is pretty good. However, they charge you tax so there's really no reason not to just go to autozone. I took the battery home and installed it. The power in my truck wouldn't come on. I tested it with a multi-meter and it said 2 volts. I was upset and called to ask why they didn't test a battery that they sold before giving it to a customer. Their response was "we don't test new batteries" What!!!??? Anyway, I charged it at home and took it back next time I was on base. The tech was less than enthused and tested the battery. It came back good. Of course it did, I just charged it for 3 days. Long story short, make sure you have them test the battery before you take it home because they don't do it by default. Or just go to autozone. read more

My Father came in for a radiator job replacement and was promised a firm price of what was to be done and came to an agreement... after dropping the vehicle off somehow and someway in that process we received a call saying there was a mistake and that they quoted us wrong and had to now pay a $500+ job already to an easily $700+ job. Best part is that when we mentioned the agreement of payment and reasoning to honor our original agreement we were told that employee who quoted us "is no longer an employee at this time" when it was less than a week ago.... I can't speak to the quality of their work because I have never received any service, other than customer service. I will say, I employee that assisted me was incredibly nice and other associates also seemed to be very nice with their customers. Additionally, the place appeared to be clean which isn't a huge turn off for me when it comes to mechanic shops. However, even their bays and parking lot was clean and well organized. Great signs of quality work. My sticking point was the price. I drive a newer diesel truck and got a quote to replace two fuel filter for over $400. That is twice the price as Jiffy Lube who I've used Jiffy Lube plenty of times in the past. I just figured since I was already in the area, I might as well spot in and check. Which leads me to my next point, this location is on a military installation. Why are they charging twice as much as their competitors? Especially with service members... If I was king for a day, I would revisit that contract and look at companies that charge less and still have high standards for the betterment of the service members wallet. read more

I was actually surprised to see the bad reviews, but I guess not everyone has good experiences at places. First off, if you live on base, this shop is super convenient, as it's on the main drag that runs through the base. The staff is super helpful if you have any questions or don't understand something. I got new tires here, and it was a pretty quick process. The availability is usually pretty good, and they don't take forever to get your car done. The pricing is reasonable, depending on what you need done. My only complaint is that the parking lot isn't big enough, as well as the waiting room area. Absolutely abhorrent service. Wildly up charged prices. Endangered my life. I brought my vehicle in for an inspection. I just needed to know whether the coils or spark plugs, or both would need to be replaced. After I scheduled online, they changed the time of the appointment without contacting me, to an earlier time. Nothing unexpected, as this firestone is notorious for nonsense like that, and luckily I remembered to call the day of to confirm. Had to reschedule, but whatever. Wasn't expecting much, I just needed a simple inspection. When they gave my car back (after waiting until almost closing for them to give me a call) they proceeded to charge me to tell me "it's either the spark plugs or the coils" like great. Thanks. That's what I told you to begin with. They wanted to charge 145$ to replace the spark plugs, they were pricing at 66$ per plug. (I got a good set for less than one of their plugs) For the coils, a total of 797.16 for the parts and install. (I purchased a set of quality coils for less than 80$) An absolutely insane up-charge for what took me less than an hour of work and ~130$. Again, nothing surprising, this firestone is a scam. What DID however surprise me, is that when I went to do maintenance on my vehicle I noticed they left my brake fluid cap removed, sitting in my hood. They endangered both my vehicle and my life with this simple, stupid mistake. I still have half a mind to sue. I don't even want to imagine if my brakes had failed while I was on the highway. Do NOT trust this location with anything more complicated than an oil change, and even then, check to make sure they put everything back where it belongs. I would like to preface by saying I am not the leave a review type of person but holy cow. I will start with I brought my car in @930 am and was greeted without a greeting, bro just stared at me and was negative in having any customer service skills. Really displayed a I hate my job and hate you for bringing your car in sorta feeling. Anyways brought it in for brake fluid and transmission fluid service. Was told 2-3 hours. At 115pm-ish, almost 4 hours after dropping it off I called and was quoted a 330-4pm estimated time of pickup, which did not work for me as I needed to pick up my child, so I walked back and was once again greeted smugly with a stare and explained I had to pickup my son at 4 and got responded with essentially no words and just grabbed my car and handed me my car keys. I asked what if anything had been done and stated he does not know. No paperwork or anything. The attention to my car and the level of respect/care transmitted in customer care had me even second guess my cars status, so I pull over and try my best to google both items and it's location as I don't know anything about cars, other than the bare minimum , to make sure things were closed and put away. Nothing done after almost 4 hours. And no hello or I understand or any words really used was just insane to me, especially in a place that services a military base with there only customers being Service members, veterans, spouses or any beneficiary. I was really just shocked and waited around for my car to potentially be in worse condition than was brought in as I saw him just close the hood and back out... cannot get those hours back following me pushing things around to make that time happen. WORSE service ever, very unrealizable with the appointment time and sure doesn't care about customer' time as well. STAY AWAY!!! Made a car care package appointment for a long road trip. Scheduled appointment time was at 10:00 am. I was advised by the technician, it will take 90 mins to complete the job. Dropped off my car at 09:55, I was asked by Mr. Ryan, when do you need your car back by? I replied, can I please have it back in a hour? He said, the most I can do is, an hour and a half. I said, that's ok, I have my son with me and we will be back in 90 mins then. Came back to the shop at 11:30, just to find out, they haven't even looked at my car yet. I used to take my vehicles here years ago and received ok service but recently, today was not a good experience. I scheduled an appointment to have my check engine light diagnosed and dropped off my vehicle. The service advisor then told me that they would call me for updates. That call never came and about 20 minutes to closing time I got dropped off to check on status and the service advisor told me that they haven't even looked at my vehicle yet because they were still working on other customers' cars. So....they schedule an appointment and not even begin to look at my vehicle? Unacceptable. So basically I brought my vehicle there to park it for a day. The worst place to take your vehicle. My in-laws took their vehicle for a simple oil change. They were told the vehicle needs two front tires and a new brake job. Monica said she "legally cannot release the vehicle in this condition due to it not meeting the CA miniminum safety requirement" but could release the vehicle to a tow truck if we didn't want them working on it. She cannot hold a vehicle and tried to give me a guilt trip when I told my in-laws to leave with the vehicle, telling me "you really want them driving this vehicle like this so they can either kill themselves or someone else?" First of all, not her problem. Secondly, they drove it there and can drive it home. We would have arranged to have it serviced closer to home and a lot less expensive. Their $150 oil change is robbery. My mother-in-law had me on speakerphone, which I already knew because that's how she uses her cell, and I told them not to agree to any work being done because garage shops tend to take advantage of the elderly and women. It was a general term that most can agree with and Monica, in the background, pipes in to our conversation and says "Ma'am, we are a military base and" .... blah blah blah. I don't care who they are. Why is she butting into my conversation with my mom? And after reading the other comments, I can see they don't care about the customer which validates my concern. My elderly (early onset dementia) in-laws live over 2 hours away from Travis AFB and it was the end of the day. They agreed to have the two front tires and brakes done because of the fear of dying Monica instilled in them but Firestone wouldn't get to it until the next day so we had to arrange for my in-laws to get picked up which ended up being a 4 hour roundtrip for my brother-in-law. They were finally picked up about 2030 after being there, literally all day.When Monica spoke to my husband, he told her to not touch the brakes or tires, put the car back together and put it on the street because he told her he would give her a decision the next day on whether to do any repairs. Her response was "I am not going to have a car sitting in my bay not being touched for a whole day". That's fine, then put it back together and put it outside. Easy fix. My in-laws didn't realize he told Monica this and they agreed to have the car held and serviced. When I spoke with Monica the next day, I reminded her that what she said about them not being able to release the vehicle, "Legally", was wrong, she backtracked and said "I said I have to find out what I can legally do about the vehicle, not that I was legally not allowed to let them take the vehicle and I never said anything about releasing the vehicle to a tow truck. I'm not authorized to do that". Then why TF did she say that the day before. My son has a recording of our conversation bc he was recording his dream car driving by in the parking lot. I didn't realize he had a recording until two days later. I know what she said. Legally do about the vehicle?? What? There's nothing to do "legally". If you say it, own it. Don't backtrack. Give my parents back their vehicle. That's it. A simple oil change turned into a $1500 job. This place is shady, unethical and has rude employees. Monica hung up on my husband because he was cursing and yelling at her to release the vehicle or put it outside until we can figure out how to get them home since that was our main concern. She held the vehicle hostage, gave us a guilt trip, and tried lying about what she said the day before. Do yourself a favor and take your vehicle elsewhere. It's really not worth the headache. I don't understand what their problem is. Honestly it's not hard to tell people the truth. If you come here expect a few things. 1. Appointments mean nothing. If you have a 10:00 appointment they will wait over an hour and a half to bring it in. And even then they will only do their job when you stand in their waiting area and pester them. 2. Quoted times mean nothing. If you ask them how long it will take they will lie. 90 minutes turns into 180?! Seriously. A inspection that took 5 minutes(I know because I watched them pull it into the bay and back out after it was done) took over 120 minutes to get it completed even tho I was told it would be done in 30. These people don't know how to schedule and jockey jobs around to complete tasks. That is why the TRANS on base won't use them. Come here as a last resort. My first impression of the business is the manager and one of the employees. They don't greet anyone coming into the business. In fact they hardly say anything to the customers other then "sign here". We had an appointment and was told it would take one hour when we made the appointment. When we dropped off the car the manager starts typing up the job into his computer and I have to ask if it will be ready in an hour and he says no it will take 2.5 hours because they are short staffed. He should have told us that when he greeted us, which of course he never didn't do. I felt like I was an inconvenience to them and not a welcomed customer. Firestone at Travis Air Force Base is the worst. I had my tires rotated and noticed that one of the tires was deflating frequently after the service. I had the tire checked if there was a nail embedded. There was none, instead the tire stem (part that air is inflated through) was damaged somehow. It was insinuated by the acting manager that another person may have damaged the stem instead of their mechanic. Who could that be though, I thought? It wasn't me for sure, and why should I mess around with the stem? After the job was done, my car was pulled out from the bay and parked outside. It was raining that day and the mechanic forgot to close the driver's side window. Needless to say, much water got inside. These are indications that their mechanics are careless, and must do a better job in doing proper work. read more

I'm only giving one star because my technician and frank are awesome. Other than that this place is TRASH. I'm going to try writing this without swearing. Which is hard because I'm pretty livid right now. I bought some Firehawk Indy 500s for my 2018 camaro ss. I got 285/30r20 for the front (my stock size) and 305/35r20 for the rear (my stock size is 305/30r20 but I was told these would fit). Well when they came in, 3/4 fit. My left rear did not. They cut my wheel well to stop it from rubbing. It still rubbed. In fact it was rubbing on my fuel harness. So I told them take that tire off and put my old tire back on. The old tire was a 305/30r20 and I knew it wouldn't rub with those. First of all. They did not put the 305 back on. They put a freaking 285 on my rim. So the tire was stretched. And I even pointed at the exact tire I wanted put back on. Second of all, they said my control arm was bent. So I took it to Chevy. NOPE. My car is perfect. So my wheel well is ....really screwed up. Now I have to spend $107 to freaking replace it and on top of that, they won't exchange my stupid Firehawks because I drove on them and they are slightly larger than stock size EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID IT WOULD FIT. I bought them January 30. Its feb 11. I'm well under 30 days. And everything falls under the policy. I don't want them. I don't like them. I did the "buy and try" and I just wanted to exchange them for my stock tires. But no. The guy at the front desk was SUPER rude. He was the last time I went in too. I already called and got a claim. But I want you all to know, if your gonna go to this firestone, you might as well ask a 2 year old for tire advice and install. They would've done better than this ****. UPDATE: frank the manager talked to me. I take back what I said about him being awesome. He's also a jerk. Told me he doesn't want my business after they order my 2 new tires. First of all I want 4. Got an oil change about 2 months ago. Two days after leaving Firestone I notice big oil stains on driveway. When the oil was checked it was down 3/4 on dip stick. . I take the car back and supposedly they fix it and add oil. Today, 2 months later I go for a smog and am informed that my car has no oil (the oil is no where to be seen in the dip stick). The smog place recommends I put in 1 liter (which still does not register) so they put in 2 liters just so i can get back home. When I call Firestone I told them about this. I hope there is no engine damage or they are liable. I got the feeling the guy on the phone really did not give a crap. It would be nice to be reimbursed the $9.94 for emergency oil but I doubt that will happen. I guess for tire service they are ok but for other mechanical issues I would look elsewhere. read more

VERBAL ALTERCATION+ THREAT AND INTIMIDATION. Went there for a tire replacement, and a brake fluid replcement. I have personally replaced the the brake pads and rotors with OEM honda parts, and engine oil change prior to going there. when i got my vehicle, the lady told me that the engine oil is at minimum, and they don't recommend topping it off. i just acknowledged, i didnt care because i just did replaced the oil i know. It's not my daily drive car. i went home and checked the brake fluid, and it was very full, like all the way full way past maximum. (my garage is level). i removed the excess fluid from the reservoir with a turkey syringe. so i put in what i found, in the email survey, but again i did not care because i corrected it already. the brake was still "spongy", it was braking good because brakes is brandnew, but spongy on the feel. when you press and pump the brake multiple times and it stiffens, then hold it pressed, it still goes to down closer to the floor. I wrote that on their email survey and they called me back after a day, and re scheduled me the following week. i came in and mr. ISAAC was not very happy to take me in, he ask me about the oil and brake fluid and i said, i took care of it, it was corrected. i don't care about that, and i only care about the SPONGY brake feel. i even told the lady on the phone that im coming in for the spongy brakes. he insisted that they will check everything, i said "to verify, you are going to fix the spongy brakes, right?", he said yes. and I explained to Isaac again that i removed the excess brake fluid already with a syringe. he called me after a few hours that its ready and the fluid is "NOT overfilled" like i said in the survey. (because i removed it already like i said multiple times). i came in to pick it up, and he keeps on insisting about the brake fluid level issue. and he said brakes where not spongy. i said okay, and started to leave, he said that i lied on the survey/review, and that i am a lying and is a liar while i was walking out the door, pissed ofcourse, i told my friend who was waiting outside in his car, what happened. ISAAC THEN FOLLOWED ME OUTSIDE TO MY FRIEND's car and said " I WILL SEE YOU AROUND AGAIN". sounds like a threat to me after an argument inside the store. in short i went back inside and talked to him, this time with cellphone out and started recording, we had verbal altercation and he called the manager, he denied everything. I WENT TO SECURITY FORCES TO REPORT IT, BECAUSE HE HAS ACCESS TO MY ADDRESS, AND SAID "HE WILL SEEE ME AROUND AGAIN" . what a great customer service...NOT! all they had to say was, hey your brakes are in specs, and you didnt have to worry about the spongy feel. no, he had to call me a liar to my face in a very intimidating manner about the oil level, he was so pissed at that oil he couldnt let it go and wouldnt accept that i removed the excess already, NO COMMON SENSE. oh, by the way i am mechanically knowledgeable, i can replace transmissions, engines, i fix motorcycles, brakes, suspensions, struts, powersteering components, BRAKES, etc. i am just busy right now and lazy to fix my own brake. i regret it. read more

I'm not really sure how or why this is still open on base. They are very rude and this is one place you should have customer service. When I arrived to drop my vehicle off the lady was on the phone (fine got it), but I stood there for 20 min without any acknowledgment; she hung up the phone and finished some paperwork (another 5 ish min) with NO acknowledgment. This was a reschedule for an alignment (the first appt the jack broke they said) and it closes at 6pm and I hadn't heard anything. I didn't realize it was 7pm so I called and the guy (issac I believe is his name) said "yeah we couldn't do it because the tyrod "boots" were too greasy which is why we couldn't do it the first time." That was never told to my husband; as stated above it was rescheduled because the jack broke. So here it's 7pm and I said so you closed at 6pm and I had to call at 7pm to find the status of my vehicle; he said he just got it "done." We haven't ever used Firestone on base and reading from these reviews, I should've known better. Someone really needs to take a look at this place and see what's going on. These people don't care and are not customer friendly at all. Honestly, it doesn't even deserve 1 star but there's not another option. read more

I would give them 0 rating. I have been bringing all my vehicles here for few years. Lately they have worker's that are lacking of good customer service and care. Today, I brought in my car to have an oil change and to service my front brakes. I also agreed to have the Car Care Package Inspection. Upon completion (6 hrs later), while paying for the service I asked if the tires were rotated. The male person at the cash register who assisted me said yes, also confirmed by Isaac. While inspecting the car I noticed the rear tire rims were clean, no finger marks and only the front rims were dirty from working on it while they replace the brake pads. I called the person who helped me at the cash register and asked if the tires were rotated? Once again he said yes it was rotated. I told him look like no one touched it. We both walked to my car and showed him why because the rear rims are still clean, no markings. He could not say anything and started to walk away from me while I'm still talking with no explanation. I called him back and asked why but he continue to walk away. I followed him back into the customer area and told him that he should not be walking away from the customer. He refuse to talk and walk out back into this shop area. Issac approached me but his explanation did not make sense. I have few cars that I bring here to get service and I never had this problem. I will never come back here again. What matters most is that my fellow military members and their families service their cars here and they don't care. It's too expensive and the employees are unfriendly and have no respect. We deserve to have better service! read more

I call at 1415 for the car update, they say, "it's the next one up, should take an hour." I walk over there at 1500, and the guy behind the counter says, "it's next up in line." Took 7.5 hours for them to do nothing. *ATTENTION: Military Friends* If you're contemplating taking it here convenience for being on base: DON'T. They get the job done but nothing more. We took our 2011 Sienna here today because we woke up to a flat tire. We chose this location because it was close. Dropped the car off at 9 AM and picked it up at noon. When we dropped it off we were quoted 1h 45m wait time. Called at the 2 hour mark and they said 10-15 minutes. Waited twenty minutes then decided to come and wait. Watched as it sat there for a half hour then decided to go in. Darrell took care of me and cashed me out and told me it was ready. Grabbed the car and pulled to the side of the building to check their work before going home. Scratched rim, missing valve cover, and a dirty leather seat is what I found. So I went back in and Darrell went to find my valve cover, twice. I settled after the second try because Darrell had a long line and my wife needed the car. As far as the scratched rim and dirty seat, Darrell told me to go talk to the technician which I didn't have time for and the technician was readily available. Are those petty complaints, maybe but it's my $30k vehicle and I expect them to take care of it the way I would. They missed the small details. First time I went, they swapped a tire to my full size spare because I thought I might have had a bent rim. Then the jag off pitched the spare back in it's compartment with no regard to what he was doing & bent over/snapped the threaded stud to hold it in place. This was on a BMW M3. Thanks! Went back 6 months later for an alignment on a VW, they claimed all was in spec & did nothing, yet the car still flutters down the highway. Half assed service & lazy attitudes, just like most customer service on base. UPDATE: Called & spoke with a supervisor who admitted nothing was adjusted, so I asked what I was charged for. Got my $80 back & won't go near this place again. Take your car to the guys at the auto hobby shop on base, they work on cars & know what they are doing. read more

I needed my negative car battery cable replaced and after almost 3 days my car still had not been looked at.

Would give them zero stars if I could. Asked the gentlemen for a quote to change all 4 tires; when I asked whether I should just bring my car in or make an appointment he suggested I should make an appointment. So I did- at 1100. Drop my car off at 11, the gentlemen behind the counter tells me they're short staffed but that my car would be ready at 3pm. (Already more than the 2-3 hours they'd initially quoted, but ok) Come back at 3, I see my car left in the same exact spot, checked the tires and noticed they were the same as I'd left them. Go in, and he regretfully tells me that they've been so backed up they weren't able to get to my car. Wasted a whole day where I could have brought it to somewhere else, albeit paid a little more, but gotten new tires on my car before a weekend trip I had planned. Do not recommend, stay away and don't be tempted by the perceived convenience of getting any work done here. Couldn't be more annoyed, disappointed, or angry. It's clear to me they have no respect for me or my time, as they cannot honor an appointment I made. read more

They told me there was something wrong with my car every time I get my simple oil change (3 times already) and every time comes with a new problem that doesn't seem to exist. (explains their lack of integrity) Been there, done that, you will never see me back. read more

Showed up to my scheduled 2pm appointment at 1:45pm. Car was not moved into a empty bay until 3:10pm. Car sat in bay until 4pm until I said I was going to leave. I can install, demount, mount, and balance tires in less then 30mins....I am no professional or do it on a regular. I Went in for a demount,mount,and balance and a re-alignment. They use a digital alignment machine so it takes 25mins max, I have used this same exact machine at auto shops. Finally at 5:45pm my car was done after taken for a joy ride around the block and some where else on or off base. Really glad I did not just drop the car off to them in the morning who knows what type of Beating my car would have received. Also was told by the scheduling technician the car would be done at the latest 4pm, received no compensation for lost of time or the joy ride my car received from the technician. I am looking into who is over firestone on base currently have a video of the joy ride and pictures with time stamps of my car sitting around. Also the guy next to me with a 370z was there from 7am-6pm the technicians could not get the 370z to burp after changing out the radiator but they sure did take it around the block a whole lot and start it up and rev it from a cold start then instantly shut it down...i dont know how they are ASE certified. read more
