Finally made it back for Spring break and enjoyed more of it by signing up for the brewery tour. I know the burgers are the way to go and tried 3 different burgers this time, with 3 different fries skinny, lion, garlic parm, lol. Different is good, but I think the classic 805 smash burger is the KISS, keep it simple stupid, fav. Same with fries, skinny or lion are the best. The garlic parm upgrade was tasty but too oily. I love the regular fries with their crack ranch sauce to dip into. Oh, I did get to try a sample of one of the sours. Never had sour ale before, so this was a great chance to try it out! Definitely an acquired taste, as it was not for me. Glad I didn't just order a glass of it! I'll stick to my fav kiss UDBA, lol. For the brewery tour, my bad in misunderstanding in signing up. Per person over 12 does not mean the ticketed participant pays to drink the samples, while under 12 can go for free without samples. It means, no one under 12 can go on tour period (not just stroller babies, anyone under 12 is no go), it's the law so that's that. They kindly offered to still get me beer flight while I relaxed in the room with the under 12 kid:) All the beers I chose were delicious and I had a great time chatting with Ms. April, like a personal bartender! Tour came back in about an hour and wife was tired from it. Glad I stayed behind to just enjoy the tour, since inside the factory was loud when had to enter the door to use the restroom. So if thinking of doing beer flight in the restaurant, just go across the street and do the tour without doing the tour and enjoy the flight here! A must stop in Paso for me. I still need to hit the one in Venice - Marina Del Rey area... Wife recommended to her coworker and they went to that location and loved the burgers and beer. So if can't make it up to Paso for the OG location, the one in LA is much closer for us LA/OC folks. April told me the Sunglider beer they had was developed in the Venice/Marina location, and it's become popular to become a permanent offering or something. So maybe time to go check out the Venice/Marina location to discover what is under R&D! (but I am sure I will still just get the UDBA there, lol)

3.5 stars. Came Saturday afternoon 5:15pm it was getting towards crowded but not packed. We sat on the patio which was nice on a warm Saturday afternoon with a kiddo. lots of cute dogs to look at. but no one came to check on us, I had to ask the hostess and someone came out. We ordered 2 beers- 805 cerveza & mind haze, waters, kids chicken tenders, kids lemonade, tritip Sando, and 805 fish tacos. We got our food pretty quick which I appreciated but had to wait for the utensils and kids lemonade. My fish tacos were meh, tasted plain with batter being the main flavor. Was hoping they would taste amazing with the 805 cerveza but it was meh. Hubby loved his tritip sando. He loved the bbq sauce and aoli sauce. He ate it all up. My kiddos chicken tenders and fries was huge!! Had to get it packed up to go. Would be great for a hungry growing boy. Overall it was ok, liked the patio, service was meh, and my tacos were meh, we will be back though I just won't get the tacos again. it's great stop driving back from the beach.

The vibe, the beer, the service, and the food! We liked it all. We have been here many times over the years and as usual were happy with our meal. I love that they have meat free and dairy free options, and my husband was happy with his meat full option. We sat on the back patio, in the perfect weather and our server was very attentive. My portabella sando was fantastic, and my husband loved his fish tacos. Paired with a Cali squeeze and a 805 Cervesa we had a great time and a great meal! Go there if you prefer beer on tap, far better then in a can. You can even take your littles! Family friendly all the way.

Always a ritual to stop by and get 805 Cerveza with 805 smash! The smashburger is a perfect blend of meat, juicy cheese, onions, pickles, house sauce and with the soft bun. Every bite was great and Wasn't overwhelming in any way. Perfect smash burger! Also got the buffalo chicken wings this time which was decent but can be skipped if you're not into it. As far as service Ely was a great server as well and very attentive and always checked up on us. This place is great stop by and try them out! Everyone's friendly, good food and good beer!

Even tho we live close by, we hadn't been here in over 6 years and decided it was time to visit again. We arrived shortly after noon on a Monday and were seated quickly in a booth in the bar area. The ambiance in there is great! Especially love the beer conveyor belt overhead. Unique & cool so we were glad to see it still the bar focal point. The menu had changed quite a bit since our last visit. We had the smash burger & the chicken sandwich. Both were tasty and we liked the presentation - and both were a noticeable step up from what we used to get here. So great job on upping their food game! The burger was delicious albeit a wee bit greasy & messy - glad I got the sauce on the side. My partner said the chicken sandwich was tasty yet messy, and had a bit of an identity crisis in that it had a lot of flavors that were nice independently but not terribly cohesive. Well executed fries. Nice touch served in a paper bag - not greasy & perfectly salted. Server was super nice - but - 4 stars only for service bc he forgot our requested waters & then brought us the check before we ordered our second round of beers. Note: it wasn't busy so they weren't trying at all to rush us, they just falsely assumed we didn't want more beers. I was only halfway thru mine while my partner's was empty and moved towards the edge of the table (universal sign for "beer me, please!". Server was cute about it but we would have stayed and enjoyed even more beers if he had asked if we wanted another round. So - glad we came back to check out the newer menu. Beers are consistently good here and definitely THE reason to visit. The DBA is especially exquisite. Lots of seating options - patio, bar, dining room. Parking can be a challenge. Firestone Walker is a place that should be visited at least once if you like good beer. It's not always where the locals go, but it caters wonderfully to visitors & travelers. Lots of great merch, too.

We stopped on the way home from Cambria. We had the dogs so (6) of us plus (3) dogs sat on the patio, under the heaters, very cozy. Server was friendly and attentive. We ordered the pretzel and Parmesan cheese fries as an app along with a couple of beers, a Coke and my Diet Coke. Pretzel came with cheese sauce and mustard, big Bavarian type twist, plenty to share. Fries were great, came with ketchup, plenty to share. We ordered a couple of smash burgers (shared) and I got the fish and chips with steak fries. The burgers were great and my fish and chips were amazing, they even had the malt vinegar. Highly recommend for a quick lunch if you're in the area.

First of all reading some of these reviews on here is whack. It is a BREWRY that has food. Yes brewery's are cold. Sit outside if you are too cold inside. We came here for first time and service, food and beer were outstanding. We have high standards too. I likes the smash burger so much I ordered two of them. I probably should have stopped at one cause it was plenty but it was just so darn good. We left with a bunch of cans of beer too. Would go back for sure!

We felt like we hit the jackpot when we found out we could visit Firestone Walker while we were in town. We've had several of their special brews so getting a chance to try them in person was a real treat! We were seated immediately by the friendly host staff and we were off to the sampling races in no time! Our attentive server Nicholas was so helpful and provided great service and suggestions! We got a few flights of some brews we've never had a chance to try before and snagged a few bottles and cans to go to enjoy at a later time. We were there around lunch time so we wanted to get a bite to eat too and that was definitely a good choice! We decided to share a braised rib on a bed of polenta with roasted vegetables which was absolutely delicious and oh so tender! It was very refreshing to see families gathering around us and all the laughter and joy filling this large space! All of the staff were noticeably happy so it felt good to see that too! We had no idea Firestone Walker was in Paso Robles but now we know! We couldn't believe how large the production facilities were when we pulled up! Wish we had more time to be able to do a tour but we'll have to plan for that next time we're in town. It was our first time in the area but it won't be our last! We can't wait to come back! I hope everyone else doesn't hesitate to go check them out too! You won't regret it!

This is our second Firestone Taproom we have been to. The first one was in Buellton. Very large dining area and a good amount of 805 Merch (my husband already has it all). Solid place for cold beers and pub type food. Service is excellent. Our server was Zach and he was very attentive, refilling waters, etc. The food is good. My husband ordered a burger with fries and I ordered Mac n Cheese (appetizer size). Food came out quickly and the beers were cold and refreshing. Definitely a great place for families and large groups. We saw several large groups and lots of families!

TLDR : Quick Service, Great Beer, Plenty of food options Stopped at the Firestone Walker brewery for a beer and food while in Paso Robles and had a nice time. There are plenty of beer and food options. The lemon ricotta pizza was amazing and Garlic fries were just

The specials for the week. I really appreciate that they offer discounts to locals on Mondays. I took advantage of it too!

I don't go here often enough! I am not much of a drinker but, they have such great food! It's a quick drive from my house and I always feel that it's worth it. Weekdays are definitely the better time to go. It can get crazy busy on the weekends! The staff is really good at taking care of you, getting your order out pretty quickly and staying on top of your needs. It such a great environment to enjoy yourself or with a group of friends too. Try it out!

Service was fine but more focused on cleaning. Dark ambiance which I'm not a big fan. Didn't get any food. Beer was okay. Won't be back.

Fun atmosphere and good food!…read more Stopped here for a quick drink and bite to eat before heading back to the hotel for the night. The town was hosting live music at the plaza across the street so we sat outside facing the plaza. It was a great way to enjoy our meal! The place was pretty packed because of the World Cup going on (Mexico vs Korea) so I understand why our server was a bit slow. She was handling tables inside and outside but keep in mind when it gets busy you may wait a bit longer for things. I ordered "The Steak" which is a hangar steak with a compound butter on top and Brussels sprouts on the side, I subbed potatoes for coleslaw. The steak was cooked nicely and had a great crust on the outside, very flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness. The Brussels were some of the best I've had even though they were so simple. I ate every last one! The slaw was ok but not a ton of flavor, it was pretty light on the sauce. We also got an order of bacon wrapped jalapeños with cilantro ranch. They were so good! We destroyed them in seconds while burning our tongues on the lava-like cheese. Worth it!

November 2025 Since…read moreI gave such a stellar review of the Bacon Crusted Burger at Street Side Ale House, I must update the comments since people do go to restaurants based on other's reviews. And I am so embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant to dozens of people. We raved to our friends about this place and this burger in particular. So, when we traveled with them to Paso Robles this week, we took them there on Thursday night. We passed on having the Wagyu 8 oz. burger and fries at In Bloom (Michelin listed) the night before in anticipation of this burger. Service was abysmal. We sat for quite some time with no service. My wife went in and asked where our server was? Finally, a woman showed up and said our waiter would be with us shortly. Sometime later, a friendly waiter arrived. He was obviously new, under-trained, and spread too thin. He was very personable, but our drinks sat on the bar for a long time and my wife had to go in and ask if she could take then. "No, the waiter will bring them out." Meanwhile, our friends were sipping on their drinks. We got our appetizers and then ordered our meals. The food came quickly, maybe too quickly, and I noticed no egg yolk oozing out (it was halved for us in the kitchen) and the burger overall was much thinner than the last time and the arugula was so wet under the patty. So, we ate a couple bites of it and it just did not taste right. I opened it up to find a baked or boiled grey patty with no crispy bacon wrapping. The bacon was soft, I mean boiled soft and was a small lump on top of the burger patty, not even close to crispy. More like a damp towel. The avocado was sliced but not spread out, so stuck on the left side. The egg was hard cooked with a solid yolk. No pepper to be found. I showed the waiter who was stunned. He thought we were kidding. The manger came out, looked at it, asked what we wanted to do. I was a bit surprised given the wreck that this burger was and said I don't know, what do you want to do? He said the chef wasn't there but took the plate back to the kitchen. He came back and said the chef (wait, he wasn't there) was surprised and said it was not right. The chef (if he was there) should have headed straight out to us and apologized. So, the manager took the burger off the bill but left the same horrible burger ($22) on our friend's bill. I should not have to tell a manager how to fix such a mess and disaster of a meal and service. I hope they fix their kitchen, whoever is checking food at the pass, and the service or they will be another casualty to the restaurant business in Paso. Sorry I had to write this as I rarely post negative reviews in order to not hurt a business and their employees.

a place that's leaning heavily on shortcuts in the kitchen rather than built-from-scratch…read moreexecution. Here's how your breakdown lines up: Burger (main miss) --frozen patty, no crust, unmelted cheese, weak sauce--usually means: * Pre-formed frozen beef puck (not fresh ground) * Cooked on a grill instead of a ripping-hot flat top (so no smash crust or Maillard flavor) * Cheese added too late or heat too low to melt it properly * Sauce under-portioned or used as a light spread instead of a flavor layer Result: bland, dry, and flat tasting burger Mac & cheese That "pasta + runny cheese water" texture is a classic sign of: * Pre-boiled pasta sitting in liquid * Cheese sauce broken or watered down * Very little actual cheese base (often just milk + starch + seasoning) So yeah--more "pasta dish" than mac & cheese. Salad (surprisingly the win) Good olive oil + vinaigrette can carry a salad hard. That's usually the only thing that doesn't rely on heavy kitchen execution, so it makes sense it stood out. Fries (another win) Crispy, salted fries usually come from: * Proper double fry or high-temp fry oil * Frozen fries done correctly (ironically, frozen can still be great if cooked right) Pulled pork Cheap BBQ sauce + pre-cooked pork is pretty standard for mid-tier spots. Not amazing, but at least it has flavor, unlike the burger. Beer Hard to mess up--good call there. Overall read of the place This is the vibe I'm getting: * Strengths: fryer, sauces (salad dressing), bar program * Weaknesses: grill station, mac & cheese, burger execution * Kitchen style: "assembly + reheating" more than scratch cooking

The fish was crispy and flakey and their tar tar sauce was great. But those fries (aka chips)... I got the garlic fries and I'd go there just for those bad boys. I also had an amazing Shrimp Cocktail and they came with a healthy amount of delicious horseradish so I could make the cocktail sauce sing to me. The fish were plump, cold, and dense... which isn't good for a partner, but it perfect of shrimp. Drink wise, after a few days of wine drinking, I needed something of the non-wine variety and this place fit the bill. I had a delicious espresso martini which contained Guinness so it did that thing that Guinness does. So cool. The Everywhere Elixir was a great drink...refreshing and balanced with some ingredients I hadn't had before. I'd get it again. And if you like Guinness, they have a printer that prints designs on the beer's head! So cool! My head didn't fit so I couldn't try it. Once I figured out there were two sides to this place, it made a lot more sense. I ended up sitting at the bar on the "left" side where it was much more lively than the right. It was early in the evening so it wasn't overly busy on either side, but it started filling up by the time I left. The bartenders were great and worked together to make drinks and bring food, and clear plates. It was an all around great experience. If I ever go back to Paso Robles, this will be on my list again!

Farm to table, they raise the cattle they serve. We had a pianist playing for dinner, and she was quite good. As to the food, my wife decided to order their BLTA which was bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado for her dinner. It came with a dish of cole slaw, which was emboldened with some jalepeno - very nice! She said the bacon was very tasty and good on the sandwich. I ordered their filet mignon with a side of their smashed potatoes, which were covered with cheese and bacon chunks. The filet was served with a green chimichurra sauce and a combination of sour creme and horseradish. I went all in on the sour creme and horseradish sauce - it was delightful. The steak was cooked to order. The bathrooms were clean. The service was very strong. The abiance her is butchershop/restaurant/brewery. The back bar was set up nicely - they had a variety of alcohol and non-alcohol drinks. Kid friendly (keep them out of the brewery) and just a nice place to visit! It's a bit off the beaten path, so take the time to find it. Also, their beer names - were pretty EPIC.
