Been to Firetap a few times and just would get the nachos and beer. Their nachos are the best I have ever had. We decided last night to go and try something new cause their menu looks really good. I feel like there are only bad reviews. I have to admit I've been coming in since they opened. I have personally witnessed growth and trials and errors of eats and drinks. I do have to say, Firetap keep it up. Sippin beers on the patio in the summer in the sunshine, and lunch time blood us with Tracy are pretty much a damn good agenda for 2014. Good beers. Good eats. My husband and I decided to try out Fire Tap on Saturday. We got there at 2:20 pm and we were sat immediately as there were only 6 other tables with people at it in the entire place. We put in our drink, appetizer and meal order fairly quickly after sitting. I asked that the hot sauce for my sandwich be put on the side and the eye roll and dirty look made it obvious how inconvenient this was for the waitress. We ordered a Pretzel as an appetizer and two sandwiches. We waited over an hour for our food to be delivered, with everything arriving at the same time. Once everything came, we were not checked on again to see if we needed anything additional, make sure the order was correct, if we needed refills. Instead we were just brought a to go box and the check about 20 minutes later. While the food itself was fairly good, the service and overall experience will be preventing us from going back. read more

Dining in is better than ordering out. The slick mouth waiter or bartender who gave us our order of 2 pot pies was polite on the phone. We made it to the parking lot when we noticed this isn't how I normally pick up pot pies from this place this isn't what we expected or ordered. The same voice was a guy behind the bar told my husband they put it separate so u can throw it in a bowl at home. They put soup in a closed container and the top for the pie in a different container. So my husband went in and was given the spill this is how u do it at home. Because he doesn't know what to expect he said okay and brought it out and I said no and took it back in. I asked for a refund and the mid twenty male behind the bar said no refund that's how they make it and WHEN WAS the LaST time you ordered that and how did we make it before??? Then asked if I wanted to talk to the kitchen since the made it that way. He knew I was upset about the situation and having food I didn't have prepped and with a snarky smile said have a good evening. This is ridiculous. Why order take out if you don't get the full explanation on phone that they separate the soup from the pie crust so u can make your pot pie at home. Instead of how they made it in my past orders of putting the soup in a metal container with the crust on top. Thanks for ruining our night and for terrible customer service. Eat here Friday night with husband. Each had a beer, split the cheese and turkey sandwich, and shared the edamame for a bill of $27. Thought the food was good and the portions are large. Our server, Tess, was very nice and when she made a mistake on our order she quickly fixed it. My whole family loves eating here. The variety of menu items is great and everyone can find something they like. My favorite is the ham and cheese pretzel sandwich. It's amazing and plenty of food to split or to save half for lunch the next day. My husband likes the clam chowder, my son loves the brat with stone ground mustard and my daughters' favorite item is the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream in the little cast iron skillet. Stopped in last night for clam chowder and a pretzel. Originally I was told they had switched to only salmon chowder but then was told they had both so I got my clam. Both my wife and I thought something was off on the chowder - we both thought it might have been a mixup and was salmon - but it only had clam so not sure why it tasted so odd. Neither of us ate much of it and we were done - saved one bowl but decided to not eat it again. Downgrading a star, which is the average of two recent experiences. First recent visit was o.k. It was fairly quiet, the sandwich was good, and the service was friendly. Second visit, I was shocked by the price/food ratio. The kid's mac & cheese was $5 and the portion was so incredibly small, I am sure my mouth dropped open when I saw it. I resent paying $5 for it. It looked and tasted like Fred Meyer hot counter mac & cheese, too. For $5, I could've gotten a bucket at Fred's. The salad I got was "Asian" chicken. It was a lettuce blend from a package, no doubt. Thrown on top were Craisins and a few dried chow mein noodles and a cold chicken breast. All for $12. Again, I resent wasting my dining dollar here. The thing is, I don't mind spending money if something tastes good or if I can't replicate it at home. It's not always about value. Dining out is about the food and getting out of the house. At this point, I regard Firetap as a bar with good bar food. If you want to get drunk and eat something other than the usual fried pub food, come here. If you're looking for a good, tasty meal, the local grocery store can do better. Honestly, though, I have given Firetap enough money and chances to earn my loyalty. let's see. been a while since I've felt compelled enough to write a review, this place has given me the nudge.. short and sweet. firetap needs some serious cleaning, the food needs a lot of werk, and the mngmt ought to care about both of those things. it seemed like things are scantily wiped down possibly swept around. fingerprints and goo all over, crumbs and hair.. I'm including a pic of my burger, I don't think it needs explanation. my wife's salad was premade with brown lettuce and she couldn't eat it. Worst Service and Management in Anchorage Alaska - Just got back from lunch at the FireTap in Anchorage. The waitress was the worst server I have come across in a long time. Being allergic to Cheese I ordered a pizza with out cheese - Making it clear - Allergic to cheese - no cheese please - Pizza came with Cheese. Order another pizza - Now - after my lunch mates finished their meal - my pizza came back - they had scraped off the previous fixings and reloaded raw ingredients back onto the crust and served it back up to me... I told them I couldn't eat this one the waitress grabbed it from the table - took our plates from the table and we paid our bill. When we asked for the Manager they told us she was on the phone and couldn't see us for 10 minutes. You could make individuals seriously ill serving food they are allergic to. We have been to Firetap a handful of times with various issues but after this last time We will never go back - Firetap is managed poorly and its waitstaff represents it management. read more

Not very crowded when we got there close to noon on a weekday. Long wait to place orders. Had the steak on a pretzel bun (half) and a small salad. Took forever to get our food. When it arrived the portions were huge, even for a hungry fella like me. It was all pretty pleasing to the palate, I couldn't finish it all. Gave 3 stars because the service was friendly but painfully slow. Also, $25 for a half sandwich, small salad, and no drink is pretty rough. All in all, the home brew selection was fairly vast. I guess "Yay! I'm a fan" is appropriate for my thoughts on Firetap. There were aspects I loved, aspects I thought were meh, but ultimately, I enjoyed it enough to eat here on two consecutive days. For starters, the beer selection is awesome. They also have an impressive liquor selection. I sat at the bar on both of my visits and have nothing but positive things to say about the bartenders. They made recommendations on what drinks would go well with what food. Best of all, they have this awesome selection of locally distilled flavored vodka. These vodkas are pretty unique.... smoked salmon, rhubarb, birch syrup.... crazy flavors I was eager to try! The bartender recommended I try the smoked salmon vodka in a bloody mary... and wow! It was quite an interesting bloody mary. Her recommendation was spot on, so I decided to follow her advice and try the birch syrup vodka shaken over ice and served as a shot, and had the rhubarb vodka in a cosmo (thankfully she served it on the rocks.... which made it a little less girly hahaha). While the drinks and service were quite impressive, I thought the food was only okay. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich one day, and a pesto pizza the next. I will say the pizza was properly cooked; however, the cheese tasted funny, like it was highly processed. The pulled pork sandwich was pretty meh. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. The one item that was exceptional was the pretzel my cousin ordered. It was fluffy, golden brown, salty, and was served with mustard and a cheese sauce. I had a few beers out in Seattle last night and kept thinking how one of the pretzels from here would improve the experience. The pretzels are so delicious! Get them. I'm a little shocked Firetap has such awful reviews. Like I mentioned, it has flaws, but with amazing drinks and service I'm willing to look past mediocre food. The building is nice and I like the patio in the summer but after several bad food experiences I just don't go back to Firetap. The menu is huge but the food is sloppy and messy. The last time my husband and I got a pizza the crust was soggy underneath from grease. Same experience with one of their pretzel sandwiches. The place seems confused between restaurant and sports bar. I think it would do better to pick one theme and stick to it. It's hard to find a good place for lunch on the south side, so I end up going here more than I'd like. Salads are overpriced, small and usually just lettuce. Sandwiches are fair. I'm not a beer drinker, so can't speak to that. If you want privacy to conduct a bit of business and want something to fill you up until snack time, this will work. The only redeeming qualities of this place are the atmosphere and the beer selection. The food was terrible. We met our grandchildren and children there for lunch. The staff was short handed. Rough start we waited a long time for our drinks. We ordered. Things got better. My pretzel was delicious. Several were ordered and shared. My salad was perfect. My husband loved the chili. We heard from one grandchild that the corn dog was awful, but we told him not to order it. We went to Fire Tap last night with a couple of friends after hearing it was "great" food. I ordered the Penne Pesce which is supposed to have shrimp and scallops in it. I had no shrimp, and only 2 scallops the size of a nickel (the dish cost $15). The sauce was very runny, not very flavorful and I had to add salt and pepper which I usually do not use. My boyfriend ordered a hot sandwich which he said was good. My two friends ordered pizzas which they were very disappointed in. One got the Pesto Chicken and the other the special which was supposed to have a lot of meat and didn't. There were no offers of refill on my tea and only one offer of a soda refill for one of my friends. I asked the waitress after our meal if the pasta dish was supposed to have shrimp and scallops which she replied yes. I told her that there were no shrimp and only two scallops. She said that wasn't right and she was going to talk with the manager. She came back and stated that she was sorry that there was nothing she could do but they would start checking the dishes. My boyfriend was upset at this response and asked to speak to the manager. A lady came out and said that she was sorry that the waitress had already dropped the til. My boyfriend gave the lady his cell number and told her to have the manager call him in the morning. Don't know if we will try this place again. Lynne S. read more

My boyfriend and I went here on Wednesday the 12th for our first time. We were seated right away. As we were looking at the drink menu's we noticed that some of the beer was way over priced like the Stone Arrogant Bastard it was $10 for a 22oz. I know they aren't sold to them at that high of a price. So my boyfriend ordered a beer (Deschutes Black Butte) and I ordered a frozen Margarita. The drinks were great!! To start off we ordered the chicken wings (I'm a huge fan of chicken wings and if a place has them I order them) and the Brat & Kraut appetizers. When we received the dishes I was very skeptical to even try the wings. There were about 8 pieces or so and it was topped off with sauteed green & red peppers and onions (never seen anything like it) and the sauce it was sitting was pure grease!! I tried them anyway. They weren't too bad but nothing stuck out about them. They were literally bland and very greasy! We had one or two each and didn't finish them. The Brat & Kraut was very good. You can't really go wrong with that. Although it didn't look like a Brat, just looked like a sausage that had a little taste of a Brat. But it was good. We ordered the ranch chicken pizza for dinner. When it came to our table it looked and smelt good. We had a few slices and decided that while it was good it lacked something. We couldn't quite figure it out but besides the flavor of the ranch dressing it was pretty bland all around. I ordered another Margarita and my boyfriend another beer (MGD in the bottle). We were talking and I happened to look into my drink and noticed a short black hair in it!! I showed my boyfriend and he looked at it then took it out and I sent the drink aside. I went to grab for it again and mixed it up with my straw and saw another one!!! So my boyfriend took it to the waitress and she ordered me another one. I couldn't drink the other one really at all so for the most part it just sat there and melted. The restaurant looked very clean and very open. It was a little crowded on one side (by the bar) and very open on the other side. It almost looked as if there should have been a buffet line where were sitting and the seating area were it was more open. When we first got there I kind of got the feeling like they were trying to go for a California Pizza Kitchen modernized style or something. But sitting there I came to the conclusion that there should be a buffet line. The staff and our waitress were great, making sure to grab the dishes when we were finished. Although some of the employees looked as if they were upset or stressed out. Our overall visit of that place wasn't that great of an experience. The food was very bland and hair in drinks. Went in on Friday night around 5.30 and there were a lot of tables open, but the bar was full. The place was LOUD. Overall though, the setting was pleasant. Food was okay, nothing to write home to Mom about, and way overpriced. Great beer selection. I had the chicken pot pie and it was pretty bland. My friends had salads and they looked amazing. Fresh vegetables and good lettuce. I would give the place two stars, but their salads and beer earned them the extra one. read more

I don't know why this place is getting such bad reviews I've gone 5 or 6 times and it's been great. I crust on the pizza DOSE have flavor and items are not just dumped out of a can. the first time we ordered a pizza and the crust was a little bit burnt so we sent it back got a new perfect one and were offered free deserts and an apoligy. the only complate I may have in all my experiences here was that a couple times they were slow to fill my water glass. a problem I have at bout any resturant and no deal breaker. it just seems like firetap has only been reviewed by a bunch of butt hert cry babes read more
